It’s still funny and pretty clever with certain gags, such as Mena getting a job through “connections,” AKA being in the right place at the right time when Marie desperately needed toilet paper. It’s also quite funny that Phyllo is the one that realizes that Lloyd is totally ignorant of his amazing origins because of his casual mention of “Grandpa Pyrid.” It’s also a little bit unbelievable considering that up to this point she was portrayed as being somewhat dim. Rol was…ridiculous. Her motivations for changing in personality…sigh. Clearly her quest for the sword was under some manipulation, but she seems to have become a crappy person all on her own volition. I had expected her character to be redeemed as it’s revealed she wanted the sword for the orphanage or something like that, but no.
I really wish they would drop the whole harem, everyone-loves-Lloyd bit. It’s tiresome and also a bit disturbing considering how naive he is. He’s just not a good romantic character (yes, I get that’s part of the gag, but…). He’s not the usual oblivious lady killer, he’s more like a clumsy overpowered child. Everyone is so intense about it, with Selen being the worst stalker, but the chief apparently taught him a disturbingly mature massage…even weirder because she ALSO appears to be an even younger child.
I am curious why Marie has never been to the legendary town if her master is the chief there. Where did she learn from Alka for three years?
