An amazing books that teaches empathy and emotions
As a School Counselor, this book is an amazing tool. The author allowed us, through story, to discuss emotions. From learning facial expressions and the feelings in the body when experiencing strong emotions, reading this story is teaching emotion management. The author did a wonderful job. From excitement, to hunger, to anger and excitement, many strong emotions were discussed. I also appreciated the diversity in characters. I will definitely add this to my toolbox. Thank you!
A must-have book not only for children, but also for parents. Charmingly written and illustrated story goes through whole palette of our emotions and feelings. In addition to that, you and your child will find many useful tips how to control negative feelings. One of my favourite was 'how to control anger'. Going to use it! Definitely, the reading of this book will become my and my son's (5 y.o.) regular routine!
The author wrote this story in a kid friendly way that opens a dialogue about feelings and controlling your emotions. The author went further by providing additional short stories at the end to reiterate different types of emotions in different situations. A great tool for not only parents, but also early childhood educators and therapists.
Explains the different emotions in ways children can understand
In this book the author took a different emotions and feelings and turned it into a story that children could understand. I thought the story was well developed, the emotions were portrayed well, and the feelings were expressed ways children can understand. The illustrations also matched each emotion well. Great tool for children to learn different emotions and what they mean!
This book for children to read with an adult is packed all with checking what your body's feelings are. We check in with the feelings of a little boy throughout his day. They are all validated. There are some tips on handling anger. Then there are some activities listed for an adult to organise for children which allow them to practice identifying emotions. At the end there are some scenarios for an adult to read through and see if a child can spot what emotion they bring up.
There are so many books on feelings, many of them quite superficial but this is the best I have come across. It explains how different feelings feel in our bodies, in detailed and true to life situations with deeply described characters that one can really warm to. Teaches it's ok to have feelings, and some ways to cope with them. Cannot recommmend enough
Fantastic read and flow to capture the child's world.
OMG this book is fun to read. It captures real life instances that occur with my grandkids. I love the illustrations! The bonus short stories and review at the end is fantastic. The kids loved it , laughed, and interrupted with "Yes Grandma that happened to me". Great!
This was great to read to my children! The content perfectly touched many emotions with simple explanations and the short stories at the end add relevance and understanding!
Overall this book is really good. I like the way it explains what happens in our bodies when we experience certain emotions. So the child gets to match the emotion to the experience. There are also activities at the back of the book.
One to recommend to parents, because it’s very clear how to teach kids. Teaches about body signals, feeling identification and calm down strategies. There are lots of activities in the back of the book too. The story itself is a little wordy, but still engaging.

This is the story about a boy and the way his body reacts physically when he feels an emotion like excited or happy. This book teaches children how to recognize what they are feeling and why their body may be reacting in a specific way.
It's nice to read a book as an adult dealing with childhood trauma where feelings and emotions weren't validated and seeing that play out in a cute story that focuses on the feelings and how to process them.
