Star Kingdom Omnibus II contains books 4 & 5 of the Star Kingdom series.
Crossfire, book 4:
For the first time in his life, roboticist Casmir Dabrowski is headed to another star system as an advisor for the Kingdom space fleet. He’s being given a chance to prove himself to King Jager by helping find the ancient artifact he inadvertently lost. It’s best not to think about what might happen if he fails....
But with technologically advanced astroshamans after the artifact, not to mention the deadly mercenary captain Tenebris Rache, it’s not long before the mission collides with disaster.
Soon, Casmir and his friends are caught between warring factions, and he must choose between what the king would want and what he knows is right.
Gate Quest, book 5:
Roboticist extraordinaire Casmir Dabrowski has a new nemesis: astroshaman leader Kyla Moonrazor.
She’s stolen the ancient wormhole gate the king ordered Casmir to retrieve, and she’s entrenched in an underwater base on a forsaken moon. Moonrazor is more educated and more experienced than Casmir, and she has legions of killer robots and cyborg defenders on her side. Casmir has his friends and...a submarine named the Waddler.
As if his task wasn’t daunting enough, his old competitor, mercenary Captain Tenebris Rache, is on the same quest, and he’ll do anything to keep the Kingdom from getting that gate.
If Casmir can’t find a way to defeat them, the king will never let him return to his home, his family, and the career he loves.
I got this whole series on Audible as, I think a bundle but I couldn’t find it here. … A fun read! I normally don’t read many books that take place in outer space but I have enjoyed reading a few other Buroker book series and I have found myself staying up late at night to finish, just one more chapter. I’m also so glad that some of these books come as a bundle because, not only are they relatively short but I think they are on the expensive side but I can’t seem to get enough of Lindsay!
I enjoyed it - I enjoyed the characters and Casmir's kind of "Amaranthe" vibe. It was a fun light (there are some dark spots, but overall...) listen that kept us entertained through a few day trips!
Yahoo, what can I say, I absolutely nailed it! So it was unsurprising to me that Cashmere and his team found themselves back together as the king tasked them to go find and bring him the Wormhole Gate. And of course the pirate ship with his Clone aboard is just as determined to keep it out of the king's hands! But first they find themselves sidetracked in order to stop an uprising on a Star Station. And Cashmere has to use his quirky mind to hopefully figure out how to stop the uprising before it could escalate any further before the bloodbath occurs! Grab the book, better yet get the Omnibus II to save credits. And if you're into it get the audio version and let Fred Burman tell you a story!
Gate Quest bk5
Where I had expected a smooth conclusion to what appeared to be the final book in the Star Kingdom series just turned out to be the conclusion to the story ARC around the mess surrounding the mysteries and fighting for the rights to who would control the Gate and weaponize it! And wow, what a hella action-driven conclusion it was. There's so many questions and story threads which are spelled out in the epilogue that I can only hope Lindsay Buroker plans to revisit the Star Kingdom in the future and write more stories surrounding Cashmere and his Cadre of friends! So go grab this Omnibus edition and join up with the Cadre of Cashmere's irregulars! Better yet get the audiobook and let Fred Burman tell you the story!
