What happens when Baer spills his big secret about monsters and magic to a total stranger?
Chaos.
In Baer’s defense, he really thought Wiley was a lost brother.
This case of mistaken identity forces the cute artist to stay at the plantation house for his own protection while they search for a way to take down a witch.
Wiley Stuart
He never should have gotten in Baer’s Jeep.
But in Wiley’s defense, Baer is really sexy. And funny. And so sweet. And did he mention sexy?
All his life he’d dreamed of superheroes and a life of action. He just never expected to find himself swept up into a world filled with monsters and goddesses.
Wiley will do anything to stay with this magical band of brothers and help them with their fight. He just wished he could be Baer’s soul mate.
Wild Warrior is the second book in the Weavers Circle series. It includes fast-paced action, running through Savannah, secrets, swimming pool fun, shapeshifting, an elephant, sexy times, lots of snakes, insecurity, three crazy old ladies, and magic!

After absolutely adoring Baer in last book, I was really looking forward to his fun, light-hearted, and impulsive presence in this story, so I was thrilled to get his one.
Especially since the first story was about a fairly-recent widower and a gruff Earth Weaver, so both MC's were a bit more serious and I enjoyed the change this time around.
I also loved Wiley, who provided both sass and snark, even though he was dealing with OCD and had plenty of baggage in his own closet.
More pieces of the puzzle slotted into place in this story, as we work our way towards having all six Weavers, and their Soulmates, assembled for what's almost guaranteed to be a gigantic showdown with the worst of the worst Big Bads yet to come.
As this was a romance, of course Baer and Wiley finally, finally, *FINALLY* realized that they were -- but only after a bit of , which made me an itty bit crazy.
At one point, I was ready to scream and throw my eReader, when a big ole' instance of martyr behavior threatened an appearance, but it was thankfully averted, so no need to actually worry about that.
Mostly, the angst was only surface-deep, with both of the guys focusing on the more upbeat parts of their personalities, even when the Pestilents and their evil witch were at the gates, which was a welcomed relief.
In regards to steam, I found it to be a bit much, here, even going so far as to skim a couple of what I felt to be unnecessary, ill-timed sex scenes. What can I say, sometimes less dick is more for my reading enjoyment. ;- )
At the very end, one of the Weavers suffered a , along with there being a huge, ominous revelation, so I. AM. DYING. for the next book in the series and would rate this one at around 4 stars.

This series just keeps on getting better as the tensions rack up.
Animal Weaver Baer is the focus of this one and the romance is an absolute delight as it tromps through a pretty funny meet/cute in a coffee shop - with added pestilence bad guys that is 😁
Wiley is sweetness in an attractive package of anxietiess, living with OCD and doing his very best to have a 'normal' life.
When he's inadvertently drawn into Baer's world, he thinks it's the best thing ever, like the comic books he illustrates for a living coming to life.
The pacing throughout this instalment was perfect, it kept throwing out increases in tension as the bad guy turned out to be a bad gal who had a nasty surprise for Baer.
I'm not spoiling anything about the plot itself, other than to say I felt Jocelynn and Rinda had it pitched just right with the scenes between Baer and Wiley interspersed with the action adventure elements.
We also get to meet a new Weaver and the overall arc moves forward some more with hints that the dangers are only going to get worse the closer the Weavers Circle is to completion.
One particular thing is revealed which leads directly into book three, which is Gray's story and it can't come soon enough for me!
#ARC kindly received from the authors in return for an honest and unbiased review.
I was excited to get Baer's book. I liked him quite a bit in the first book and was looking forward to get his story and how he would meet his soul mate.
Baer is the animal weaver and can change into any animal he conjures up in his mind. He also can talk to them. Not verbally, but through images. I really love his talent the most. I would love to know what my dog is thinking, lol.
A trip to a doughnut shop for some pumpkin flavored treats turns into disaster as Baer ends up changing in the middle of the shop and bringing a stranger home. He felt a connection to the guy (and attraction) and assumed the guy was one of their brother's, a weaver. He lets a lot of their secrets out and has no choice but to keep the guy there until the danger has been dealt with.
Wiley writes comics books and does his own drawings. He's really talented and a superhero junkie. Action figures? He's got them, and some he's doubled up on. He LOVES that he has been dropped into this supernatural world of magic, witches, and other out of this world beings. He lost his mother at a young age and has some issues from that. He was raised by his grandmother living a bit of a lonely life with very little friends. So being around these men, this family, he really wants to find a place within their group. He wants to belong with them.
Baer and Wiley are attracted to each other but it takes them a minute to act on it. Baer is hoping to find his soul mate and Wiley is wishing he was the man to fit that role. Baer is afraid to start something with Wiley because he knows his soul mate is out there and he doesn't want to hurt Wiley. But the attraction is too strong not to act on it. They fall pretty hard for each other and you can guess what comes from their relationship. But until then it is really sweet to see how Wiley helps ground Baer and makes him think instead of just reacting. And seeing Baer take charge in making sure that Wiley understands how important his mental health is and that he cares enough to put his needs first was swoon worthy. I loved that.
The fight at the end was pretty brutal. It ended with a scary outcome for one of the guys and I really can't wait for his book.
This was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to meet the new characters that are bound to be introduced in the next book.
Happy reading dolls!

A stellar second installment in this fun and interesting series by Drake & Elliot.
In this second book, we focus on Baer, our Animal Weaver of the six, and his love story with Wiley, a twenty-something man who Baer mistakes for a Weaver when, while a coffee shop is under an attack from two pestilents, Wiley says he was told to be at the coffee shop on that day and time by an old lady, and so brings him back to the plantation because of that.
And because Baer took him with him, the pestilents probably know about Wiley, and so he has to stay at the plantation for his protection.
Wiley is a fairly small, nerdy guy with glasses who writes and draws comic books for a living. Wiley loves superheroes, and so when he learns all about the Weavers and the supernatural - all thanks to Baer and his mistake - he's more excited than anything else. Also a little disappointed about not having powers himself, but he's determined to help anyway.
Baer and Wiley are of course drawn to each other. They felt something when they first met, but then they don't think they're each other's soulmates. Baer believes he's supposed to feel something like a lightening bold when he sees his soulmate, and that didn't happen with Wiley. Of course, Wiley is his soulmate, and Gray knows it - and tells the others - but they don't say anything and let them fall in love naturally, although for awhile they angst over the fact that they're not soulmates and that their time together can only be temporary.
On the pestilent side of things, it's been three months since they defeated them the first time in the first book, and they've been quiet while they've regrouped, but now they've started coming back, and they've sent a more powerful witch, who can control animals - and which Baer can't take the control back from - which presents a new challenge for the Weavers.
We also get to meet Lucien, the fourth Weaver, and his affinity is fire. I wonder if we'll meet a new one in the third book or both of the last two, or if we'll have to wait for the 4th book to meet the sixth one too. Also I'm expecting a book for all six weavers, for sure :D
Baer and Wiley were great together, their chemistry was wonderful and they were adorable and sweet and hot together. It was very believable when they got to the "I love you"s.
I'm interested and excited for Gray's book, which I believe will be next. Something happens with Gray at the end during a battle that will follow into the next one, and also something else I'm curious to learn more about. Wonder who will be the one to melt Gray's grumpy heart.
Overall this was wonderful, and I highly recommend it. If you enjoyed the first book, I think you'll definitely enjoy this one too. Baer is a wonderful character, and he finds the perfect man to be his partner in life.
Two massive thumbs up from me! ❤️

I was a bit apprehensive about reading this book because I did not particularly enjoy the previous book . I had a myriad of reasons why and if you are interested, you can read my review here. But like the curious and ever optimistic reader that I am, I decided to give this series another try.
On one hand, I can say that this book was an improvement over the previous book. There was more light shed on the universe that the Weavers found themselves in and I finally understood what I was reading. The characterisation was also great and with the introduction of a POC weaver, I was happy. The action was also better written and the I laughed more at the banter between the weavers.
On the other hand, there was still something missing from the story. I liked Baer and found Wiley to be an adorable ray of sunshine but like with the previous book, I didn't really get to know either of them. I liked them together as a couple and was glad it wasn't over saturated with sex like the previous book but there was still something missing about the book in general.
I just couldn't place my finger on it but I strongly believe there is still more that can be done with this series; especially given what I know this writing duo can do. Here's to hoping the trend continues and the next book(Book#3) is better than this book!

This second book is more of a piece than the first. Probably because its focus is on Bear's and Wiley's budding relationship while the Pestilence danger is increasing and a new brother is found. The authors didn't feel the need to work on the world building so it was easier for me to turn a blind eye to all the open questions on that part of the story.
Bear is in his heart still a big child, impulsive, driven by his needs and wishes, an act-first-think-later kind of guy but also a big, playful softy. So it's no wonder that after he sees what soul mates look like it's exactly what he wants to have. Doesn't matter if everyone is telling him that it's a rare find and probably never happened to the past incarnations of the brothers. He sees it, he wants it and nothing less will do and he expects it to come like a lightning strike, great, powerful, all-consuming … but then there's Wiley, lively, adorable and enthusiastic Wiley and there is a connection, just not what both of them expect for soul mates. Everybody else sees it just not those two. Everybody else also sees that Bear is growing, becomes more reliable and empathic which is also the reason why he doesn't want to start something with Wiley because it would only hurt the guy when Bear finds his soul mate but of course the inevitable happens - also thanks to meddling brothers but it still needs the latest confrontation with a new main enemy and Wiley's willingness to step down to help Bear find his mate that also the bonding takes place and the big fight can start.
I liked this focus and Wiley and Lucien, the fire weaver, are good additions to the circle. I also enjoyed the light banter and the slow growing together of the brothers. I have to admit that like some other readers I skipped some of the sex scenes in favor to see the story evolving. Not all of those scenes were really necessary, at least not with so many words. I still feel there is a lot missing or confusing in the world building and some story line ideas are interesting on the surface but not really thought through to the end . Usually with such a weak world building and inorganic conflicts I would stop following a series but still ... I'm going to read the next book and hope with Grey as the main character some things are becoming more clear.
It took me a while to get through Wild Warrior, I enjoyed Baer and Wiley's story, how they met, got to know each other and the power connection was cool, GO Wiley.
Throw in the other guys and the new addition of Lucien, the fur babies Ruby and Queenie and of course the big fight, it was an enjoyable and exciting read.
I love Jocelynn Drake and I devour all her books and series but for some reason I am struggling with this series, cannot put my finger on why, I don't feel the bond between the guys in this not like UB or Ward Security.
Maybe after I get to know Grey better in book three Blind Warrior I will feel better because he can be very vocally aggressive with the guys and after what Clay found makes me even more nervous.
Still gonna read the next one, when it comes out this fall. I like the overall story arc and the characters, and I'm hoping my concerns are addressed...if only even in passing FFS.
Now I’m glad I slogged through the first book in the series because this was a fucking treat!
I loved how Baer and Wiley met, and how they continued their relationship together, completely oblivious to why they felt the way they did when they met. I just loved them. They were so fucking cute. And any characters that love animals as much as these two did are a win in my book, and I especially love cat guys. I loved how they communicated and just how into each other they were.
I found this far better paced between the action and the romance, but for some reason something felt off with the sex scenes. Maybe I don’t like how these authors write them, but it’s weird because I am usually HERE. FOR. THE. SEX. Even with one of my kryptonites - a smaller guy with a huge cock - I still skimmed them.
We’re not getting a ton of detail into the world building or the magic. It’s very surface level stuff which is kind of annoying. I’m still not clear on what exactly Wiley’s powers are and what he can do. But he’s so freakin’ adorable I guess it’s okay.
This was fun, fluffy, and cute, and after the big drama at the end with one of the other Weavers, I’m looking forward to moving on to the next story.
Wild Warrior by Jocelynn Drake & Rinda Elliott is a paranormal M/M romance with suspense, steam, humor, action, Fated Mates and magic. It is the second book in the Weavers Circle series about a group of men who become a brotherhood in their quest to defeat a big bad enemy. The story is well written with a plot that is exciting, fun and just grips the reader. The characters are fantastic, I love them all... and the main characters of Baer and Wiley are adorable together. I can not wait for more stories from this series.
I AM SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SERIES! One of the best fantasy story I’ve read so far! We finally get our resident Animal Weaver, Baer’s story! Baer is such a wild crazy sweet soul, I adore him! And then we get Wiley, our cute nerdy insecure soul mate, there’s no doubt in my mind there couldn’t possibly be someone more perfect for Bear. How their relationship progresses is beautiful and heartfelt! The plot keeps on thickening! And oh god, fall needs to get here ASAP! Blind Warrior will be next level!
Having read and loved the first book in this series, Broken Warrior, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Wild Warrior. To say I was not disappointed is too big an understatement. This book has everything I have come to love and expect from Jocellyn Drake and Rinda Elliott. There is plenty of action that will take you on quite the ride, but at the heart of the book there is family. A made family of men who have been searching without knowing what they were looking for. The home that these guys have created together is strong, supportive, challenging and accepting. Animal Weaver Bauer is smart, impulsive and hoping to meet his soul mate. Wiley is sweet, slightly nerdy and so much more than he gives himself credit for. With a little nudge from the goddesses these two meet and connect on every level. Wild Warrior is full of action, humor, magic and romance. I can't wait for the next installment in the Weavers Circle series!
Loved it, Baer and his little nerdy comic book man, Wiley, are just perfect together. I thought their meeting was fantastic with Baer spilling all the secrets lol. I think with each book the series gets better and better. The action scenes are well written, the love scenes are well written and the over banter between the guys is exceptionally well written. the family they are building just works so good together. I am stressing over the Soul Weaver though
I'm not too sure about this series. Whereas Clay was the secret keeper, Baer was the spill all to the cute guy. It was sweet and I liked how they took it slow. It was mostly smooth sailing for the couple, except for the wish to be soulmates and everyone keeping their mouth shut. I did like the foreshadowing on Gray. That was interesting.
The alien stuff didn't really grip me and the brotherhood connection feels a bit weak compared to every other series. The cryptic message in the journal was a bit annoying. I read this one for a group challenge, otherwise I probably would've put it off. I'm hoping the next one will be amazing.

This second book in the Weavers Circle is pretty much a direct continuation of the first book, Broken Warrior. Go read that now.
This one features Baer, the Weaver who can shift into animals, and his sweet mate. Baer and Wiley are just so sweet together as they deal with pestilence and Baer’s accidental blabbing. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing in this book. Despite the action and suspense, there’s a lot of humour and laughter. You can get everything you want in this. I can’t wait for the next book.
I love this series, and the latest story hooked me in from the first page. I loved Baer from the first book, so was already very keen to read his story. As well as introducing Wiley it also advanced the series plot arc and set up for the next book, which I’m already hanging out for.
I love Baer’s power, and was very amused by his interactions with Wiley’s cat Queenie. Baer and Wiley are great together, and I liked how they provide balance and calm for each other. I love that Wiley is a comic book artist/writer, how he takes everything in his stride, and it’s everything he’s dreamed of, rather than the usual reaction of disbelief. I loved all the superhero and comic book references. As a side note, I liked the realism that he still has to meet his work deadlines.
The strong family vibe through this story, and series, is wonderful, and gives a human edge to the paranormal element. I love the sibling banter. It’s not just the brothers who are family but also their soul mates, and the aunties/goddesses who are a lot of fun. Ruby plays a very important part in this story too. I like the new weaver, and I’m looking forward to reading his story. Poor Grey. I’m pleased his is next. He needs to find his soul mate and soon for a lot of reasons.
The show downs with the bad guys shifts up a notch in this story with some seriously nasty encounters. The plan to win this battle is brilliant yet very dangerous. I like how they all work together and play to their strengths, yet it’s obvious they’ll need their full group of weavers and soul mates to totally take their enemy down. I really like how the soul mates are making a difference this time around, and how each battle isn’t easily won.
Another exciting chapter in the Weavers Circle series! In book two Animal Weaver Baer is the focus and he not only grows into his role in the circle but he finds his soulmate who plays a key role in defeating the threat in this episode. You really need to read these books in order to fully appreciate the story and the events that happen in this book.
The way the story begins is cute and sweet and gives us a big clue into Baer’s personality and what we will see from his character development. After being sent on an errand to get pumpkin spice doughnuts by Jo, Baer meets a cute little nerd who it turns out was also sent by an old woman to try the doughnuts at this particular bakery. After an exciting meet, Baer is sure he’s found another weaver and he takes Wiley back to the plantation. The angst in the story begins there and we watch the relationship between Baer and Wiley develop while also feeling for them based on their feelings for each other and assessment of their situation.
The authors do a great job of giving us character development via both the forward progress of the story arc and the relationship development. Wiley’s OCD is an interesting twist and enables us to learn more about Baer but I kind of expected it to play more of a role in the story. It seems to almost become an afterthought by the end which is odd as it was so prominent to start. Wiley is a sweet character and you just ache for him to get the things his heart is craving.
The fourth weaver is located and brought back to the mansion and there are some skirmishes with more pestilents though with a new and more dangerous twist this time. This is where Baer’s talent and need for his soulmate will come into play. It’s exciting and tense and creepy as hell (rats, snakes, UGH!!)
The big crisis scene is action packed and tense with some dramatic repercussions. Once again the shift in focus at the end makes for a nice segue to the next book and the character that will be the focus in that book. I’m super excited to see where that book takes us.
The writing here is crisp and well paced. There is humor and heat, fear and anger, worry and joy. The book is a great read and I couldn’t put it down all day today! It is definitely a one-sitting read so be sure you’ve got a clear calendar when you start!!
**I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion.**
Wild Warrior is book 2 in the Weavers Circle series.
Wiley is a shy young artist, his life took a radical turn when a hot and sexy ginger guy, shifted into a cougar in front of his eyes.
Baer wants his soulmate and Wiley, Wiley wants to be with Baer and a member of the weaver circle. How they will be able to have everything they want ?
Baer is the animal weavers, he's impulsive and wild. After meeting Wiley for the first time, Baer spills the truth about him and his brothers. Wiley is a nerd, super-heroes, comics book , fantasy , that's his reality in his mind, so meeting a real superheros, with the ability to shift into any animals, it's like a dream comes true for Wiley.
I adored this book, Baer is my favorite since book 1, and I was looking forward to read about his story. It was epic, impulsive and wild, just like Baer actually. Wiley is more shy and quiet, but he's brave and strong and he's able to calm Baer.
I really love them, It was a very good book, with a new weaver joining the circle and a WTF revelation at the end of the book that made me scream.
Okay so from the previous book I was already looking forward to Baer's story. And this did not disappoint. As an Animal Weaver (who can shift and communicates with all animals) I cant help being envious of his ability. I really wish I could communicate with my dogs certain times.. Again, it was another great start with how Baer met Wiley, a comic book artist who has OCD. It was funny and I can feel how both of them hit it off. But then halfway, I became bored with their dynamic and irritated with Wiley's insecurities. Baer was being a bit too perfect for my taste. Romance aside, the action definitely thickens and the anticipation to see how the story unfolds is killing me. Off to the next book I go!
I received a copy of Wild Warrior by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review. I got hooked on the Weavers Circle series with the first book and the second did not disappoint! I liked the new character Wiley and his issues. I also enjoyed the scenes set in Savannah so much I googled all the locations and regret I’ll never get there thanks to the pandemic. Without any spoilers, it was logical and heartwarming both how Wiley got several of his dreams fulfilled. My only minor irritation is introverts deserve better treatment. This is one of those series the authors can’t write fast enough to meet my interest.
Baer is convinced he's found another Weaver when he encounters a cute little twink in a donut shop. The bad guys are hot on their heels so Baer grabs the guy (who definitely isn't protesting too much, because the man who just kidnapped him is well YUM! and he changed into ANIMALS!). Wiley thinks this is super cool and needs some excitement in his life anyway. You can tell immediately they are soul mates. It 's just a matter of getting them to see that what they have goes beyond sexual attraction.
Fun and fluffy. No typos and a good underlying plot.
I was nervous when I picked up the second part of the Weavers Circle books, as I haven't read the first one but the blurb looked so interesting, I couldn't help myself. I'm always not sure in those cases, because I'm afraid I'd be flooded with names and stories I'm supposed to have background information about. I'm so glad I picked that one up, because it's subtly presenting us with the characters from the previous book, so I don't feel lost . Of course, it would've been better if I read Broken Warrior, but not having done so didn't stop me from enjoying that one.
Okay- so without further ado, let me fangirl a bit for Baer and Wiley below <3
I loved watching them being awkward at first with each other. Wiley is a comic book writer, and awkwardness didn't come much as a surprise, but Baer was cute being that way too, despite his sexiness. And did I mention they were hot together?
However, all that was not really the main reason why I liked the book. It has a very good depiction of OCD. It's very well presented, balanced and very subtle initially. This particular type of MM novels are not my normal pick as you guys know- in terms of setting, or characters. But I liked this one. It is a very fun read overall, action-packed as the blurb says and I'm planning on reading the first part as well.
Happy reading, everyone!
*Thank you Gay Romance Reviews and Authors for the awesome chance to read the book*
Baer's personality is like a kid and eventually it rubs off on everyone. Wiley being a comic artist and a nerd matches as Baer's soulmate perfectly. The plot was good but sometimes i skipped tge intimate scenes to read the adventures. Though those two are adorable sometimes its just too much.. overall a good read :)
I'm in love with another Drake and Elliott series. Probably not as in love as with the Unbreakable Bonds original series, but this relationship with the Weavers is looking pretty serious. Some series I can wait until they're complete to read everything at once but not this one. I've got to have the new one hot off the proverbial presses.
And no, you can't read them as standalones. While each book focuses on a different couple, the overarching story begins with book one and continues in each successive book, so to really understand what's happening, you need to begin with Book 1, Broken Warrior.
Despite being filled with magic and paranormal activity, there's still plenty of action and adventure and the trademark Drake and Elliott hot sex and explosions.
In Wild Warrior, Baer, the Animal Weaver, meets his soul mate Wiley, a comic book artist and they are perfect together. This is an ensemble cast, and I appreciate that they're being introduced a little at a time so it's not too overwhelming.
Lots of fun! I look forward to reading the rest of the series as it unfolds!
