WTF!!!! What else can possibly happen???? This series most certainly keeps you on your toes. It twists and turns until you don’t know which end is up!! The only downside of this series is my lack of sleep!!! How much more can Whisper take? My goodness, this series needs to become a movie series...on second thought NO. They would only destroy the characters and plot. I must keep reading because I have to find out what happens next.

Still so good!

This is the third book in Hell's Bastard series and the story is still so good and interesting. It starts with Edge and his brothers and Whisper 's family which I can say is as bad as Edge Motorcycle Club brothers finding out where Whisper is, the bad guy name is Ceriv and he is very bad and has her well hidden but she has help by name the of Rose, Mattus, Adam. They finally find were Whisper is , then the action starts so great, but there is sadness too! Things goes there way for moment but Whisper is in bad shape, can't wait to see what happens next! On to the next book!💗

Jeez

Whisper is in her own hell. Edge is barely hanging on. Edge will do anything to get Whisper back and if that means he calls up the gates of hell he will. Boxer, Lincoln and Edge come together with an unlikely crew and set out to get her from the depravity. What they find the can not comprehend.

This series just keeps getting better and better!
Emma James is a true mistress of intrigue and romance.

Whisper is hurting both physically and mentally locked away in Cezar's wicked world.
Edge is desperate to find her but has to be patient! There is much planning and work to be done before even attempting to rescue Whisper and the other girls.

I really enjoyed the interaction of both this author's series, it's subtly done and perfect in it's execution. Even though this is a dark story there is humour as well e.g. We cover each other Mr. and Mrs. Smith style, back-to-back. The humour is used extremely well to lighten the story and bring more emotions and feelings forth.
'OMG!' is something I say aloud a few times throughout this story, not only are the scenes dramatic and at times traumatic, they really grab you by the throat & you can't wait to read what happens next.

I applaud Emma James' continuing high standard of quality writing and even though there is another cliffhanger, it is a sensationally entertaining book that I truly recommend to everyone. If you have read the first two books then do that first.

Loved it! I love everything Emma James writes. This story came together beautifully. Wrenched and Warped has to be read first, Emma is a great writer and this book did not disappoint. I was laughing and crying sometimes in the same chapter. This book will definitely keep you on your toes wanting more.

Enjoyable

Picked up where the second one left off. Has you on the edge of your seat waiting so much more. Whisper finds out something that will change her future if she finally gets rescued. Edge is doing whatever it takes to find her and safe her. Again left me with a cliff hanger ending but a great one . Cant wait to see what happens next.

Explosively Addictive

Contorted is book three in Emma James’ Hells Bastard series, it is highly recommended that you have read books one and two Wrenched and Warped prior to this book. Contorted continues on right where Warped ends.

I couldn’t put this book down, I read it in a few hours, and now I’m anxiously wanting to finish writing this review so I can move on to Entwined to know what’s going to happen next. It was nonstop action, suspense, thrilling and quick paced from the beginning.

Whisper is being held captive by Cezar Pavel with his Sentinels in a secret location, with no means of an escape. Whisper is trying desperately to hold onto her sanity and hopes of being rescued by Edge, but she is slowly losing the battle, after having experienced something traumatic with Mattias. What she went through with William Dupre for twenty years is nothing compared to what Cezar has install for her.

Everyone is trying to find Whisper but no one knows anything, while Edge brings his brothers from the Soulless Bastards MC to help with the search. Edge is slowly loosing it not knowing where Whisper is and when Boxer comes face to face with him and what he has done to Whisper things are not going to be easy for him.

This book is shrouded in loyalty, mystery, angst, suspense, trust and danger. Told in multiple POV’s we follow all the characters we love, get to meet new characters and characters you hate. Emma James is one very talented author when it comes to telling a story with many voices being told, she keeps it smooth and flowing without any hitches or confusion to the storyline.

Contorted does end on a cliffhanger but not before an explosively synchronised rescue attempt happens to get Whisper back where she belongs with her family and possibly with Edge. Can’t wait to dig into Entwined.

Writing this review has left me dumbfounded. I'm not quite sure where to start or what to say so that I don't give away spoilers. I have attempted to draft this review several times only to hit delete. I am really struggling to find the right words to do this book and this series justice. So let me begin by talking about the series itself.

The Hell's Bastard Series must be read in order to grasp the full intent of the story unfolding. Each book is delivered with a perfectly synchronized installment that drives this series in a new direction before reaching it's ultimate climax. Making it unpredictable.

The Hell's Bastard Series by Emma James is unlike anything out there. It is a dark romantic thriller that touches upon human trafficking, captivity, violence, abuse, and psychological torment. At the same time it also showcases the things that make life valuable, such as family, friendship, love, integrity, and confidence in oneself to stay true to their inner self. It's all blended in a shroud of mystery, suspense, and danger at every turn. There is more than a warped evil villain contorting each and every move. Each installment in the Hell's Bastard series contains one word and one word only. Pay close attention to the word title of each book. Look up the definition of each word. The title is what propels this series to the next level.

Contorted is the third book in the Hell's Bastard series. It picks up where Warped left off. Whisper is being held captive by Cezar Pavel in a secret location. His psychological games are contorting what's coming. While Whisper is desperately hanging onto her sanity and hope that Edge will find her, she's slowly losing the battle. The things she thought she feared most are turning into something else, not quite as frightening. The unimaginable fears are beginning to materialize. It's only the tip of the iceberg. What Cezar Pavel has in store for her makes her years in captivity with William Dupre look like childs play.

Cezar Pavel is biding his time and conditioning the girls for upcoming main event. He's carefully chosen his sentinels to do his bidding. His rule is unquestionable. To question is not without consequences. He's personally conditioned his executioner to kill without questions or remorse. He carefully hides their identities behind Venetian Carnival masks. These masks instill fear and complete obedience . No one knows his real identity or those of his sentinels.

Edge is desperately trying to find Whisper. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. In the ordinary world Cezar Pavel does not exist. In the underworld there is barely a trace of Cezar Pavel. He has completely hid his existence, he hasn't left any crumbs to follow. The only thing that Edge can do is follow the small trail of crumbs he uncovered at the secret air hanger. It's a waiting game where time is running out before it began. The only thing he can do is enlist the help of Boomer and his crew (Whisper's family), call in the Soulless Bastards MC, the Lions Den MC, and Slade Malone (Ocean Beach Series). Following that one crumb turns into a meticulously synchronized rescue attempt that turns into an unpredictable and explosive cliffhanger.

As an avid reader, I am not one to shy away from dark thrillers that portray extreme violence and inhumane actions. I accept these conditions as part of the overall story. Usually at this point in a series I have an idea of what direction the series is going. I can usually loosely predict what is to come next. Contorted was a different story, what I thought was coming did not unfold. The players were as unpredictable as the plot. I was completely SHOCKED by the outcome. I cannot even imagine what could come next because I was left with so many questions as to the who's, the why's, and how are they all connected. I am sure Emma James has a lot in store for the readers with the last two books before Whisper can finally find her happily ever after... or should I say true beginning... true freedom. The next book is Entwined and will release in 2017. The title itself assures me that I will get some answers but will probably end up with more questions before the final book, Venerated releases.

Emma James has proven beyond a shadow of doubt how truly talented and brilliant her writing is. The vivid descriptions ( which had me Googling like crazy) and synchronized scenes told from many different POV's made this story come to life. It was a consuming reading experience!

Man this was action and pre-action and after-action too!! Lots going on with the teams preparing to rescue Whisper, well at least that's the plan. There's an insider giving the guys intel and trying to keep Whisper and Rose safe. Things aren't going to be easy and more than one punishment will be issued. But this one is hard on Whisper and one can only hope she comes back in one piece. As the series goes on it's clear to see this author has a grasp of the dark side. Prepare yourself cos it's about to heat up. We haven't made it to the end yet but we have hooked up with a few friends from some of the author's other series and boy oh boy it's truly a different side of them in the best of ways. All hands are on deck for the mission and it's not just Whisper they will be freeing if all goes to plan. I love this author's style and her characters. This is an action filled exciting read so pony up cos it's about to get wild. . . er.

Action packed!

Nonstop action from the start. This book picks up where the last one left off. Whisper has been taken to pay off a debt. Edge is looking for her. Poor Whisper is living in hell. Her new owner is a depraved sob and she is barely holding onto her sanity. You are introduced to some new characters. Edge's MC brothers help him get Whisper out of harm's way. Another great installment in the series.

Book 2 cant put down

I haven't encountered a series as gripping as this since my sister suggested I read Mockingjay! As dark as this series can be, there is so much more to it. There is light.
The cliffhanger endings just leave me begging for more. I am not normally into reading a series, especially back to back, but Emma James just is fabulous at sinking a hook into her readers!!

Emma James has done it again, each book is a one sitting book, cant put it down. You have to know what is happening to the characters! The story gets more involved, twisted and sadistic, but you are rooting for the good guys! And of course the romance aspect. The story has evolved more power players have come into view and there are more twists and turns! And what a cliffhanger!! On to the next!

Twisted plot

Talk about throwing a curve ball in, holy cow! Love how Ruby stepped up, but not how it ended! Can't wait for next book for Rage's reaction! This book is another page turner from start to finish. Ms. James your imagination is something else.
