Natchez Trace Ranger and historian Emma Winters hoped never to see Sam Ryker again after she broke off her engagement to him. But when shots are fired at her at a historical landmark just off the Natchez Trace, she's forced to work alongside Sam as the Natchez Trace law enforcement district ranger in the ensuing investigation. To complicate matters, Emma has acquired a delusional secret admirer who is determined to have her as his own. Sam is merely an obstruction, one which must be removed.
Sam knows that he has failed Emma in the past and he doesn't intend to let her down again. Especially since her life is on the line. As the threads of the investigation cross and tangle with their own personal history, Sam and Emma have a chance to discover the truth, not only about the victim but about what went wrong in their relationship.

What a difference ten years makes after the disappearance of her twin brother Ryan. But maybe not! Emma Winters still does not know what happened to Ryan. And to make things more complicated, she has to team with ex-fiancé, Sam Ryker when someone shoots at her. Ms. Bradley does an excellent job of keeping you on your toes with the intriguing premise and just hinting at who the culprit might be. Is Emma’s stalker a killer too? Sam tries to keep her protected as their feelings shoot to the surface again and they dig into their pasts. It was hard to put this book down, a real brain workout. And the romance was just right. The theme of forgiveness and mending family estrangements shine through. The setting of the Natchez Trace and the Mount Laurel Visitors Center is described wonderfully to catch you interest. The author writes a spectacularly creepy villain and you’ll be scratching your head to figure out who he is. This second book of the Natchez Trace Park Rangers is dramatic. I cannot wait for book three. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell on behalf of the author. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*
A twisted tale that blended a cold case and a current one. Emma didn't believe her twin Ryan had killed Mary Jane, but no one had come across Ryan in ten years. Lots of twists and turns before reaching the finish line.
I loved this twisty novel that is tucked inside a National Park with links to yesterday and tendrils in today. A well-written, well-plotted novel filled with characters I enjoyed, the right level of romance, and a page-turning mystery. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Obsession is another great suspenseful read in the Natchez Trace Park Ranger series, set in Natchez, Mississippi. I was pulled into the story in the beginning scene and entertained to the end. Emma Winters is a ranger at a historical visitors center right off the Trace where she is working a archeological project involving slave cabins and graves. She returned to the site one night having forgotten a file and surprised someone running a backhoe when no one should be there using it. Warning shots were fired at her. Someone was digging a grave size hole near the cabins and graves. Newly returned Law enforcement district ranger Sam Ryker is called in to investigate along with the County Sheriff Nate Rawlings and his department. Ten years ago, Emma and Sam were engaged before tragedy broke them up. Her twin brother Ryan disappeared the same night he was accused of killing a girl he dated. Sam, Emma, and Nate work to unravel the present day mystery and see if/how it might tie in with the old mystery. On top of all that's going on, someone begins stalking Emma. Sam is working to keep her safe but things ramp up as they get shot at again. It is a complicated mystery involving small town politics and old friends. I enjoyed trying to figure out what was going on and who I thought might be the stalker and who was the shooter--were they the same? Who was digging at the site? Sam and Emma are both carrying around emotional baggage, not only from their history but family issues as well. The story deals with the importance of forgiveness and moving forward. There is a faith thread woven through the story showing how it can change people for the good. This is an action packed mystery with suspense, danger, a psychological element, and love. I enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who love romantic suspense with a spiritual touch. I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
Emma finds her self with nowhere to turn, but to former flame Sam Ryker, after shots are fired at her while on the job as an interpretive park ranger at Natchez Trace National Park and she finds herself being stalked by an unsettling secret admirer.
A suspenseful read, with great character development and a well placed plot. I liked how Sam and Emma are forced to confront their past and work together, combining their skills and passion for their work. I liked how this book has a lot going on, with a rich backstory, likable main characters that you can cheer for all the way through. Sam is a protector at heart from his job to his family, and then to Emma, he isn't one to standby and let those he cares about to be threatened.
Overall, this was an exciting read that I devoured in the course of a day, I liked that this was a suspenseful read, and even though we get a glimpse of the bad guy's chilling thoughts, it never crosses the line into too much, which for me was perfect. It is a well balanced read, with plenty of action, but also takes time to explore the characters their relationship and their past. A great addition to the series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I’m the biggest fan of romantic suspense, so I’m always willing to dive in to a new title. Obsession, sadly was a big miss for me. I had major issues with the heroine of this story and could not find a way to see her as relatable or root for her. She was rude, immature, and I found it impossible to believe that she had three grown men vying for her attention. I think the author was trying to show her as independent, however she came across as arrogant, blunt, and completely self centered. I felt as if the plot drug out for way too long without any real progress and I didn’t really understand why the majority of the book centered around a park ranger digging in a pit that had just had a disturbance. The villain was completely obvious from the very first encounter which left no twist or surprise for the rest of this story centered around digging and sifting dirt. The romance angle was completely not believable based on the characters interaction for most of the book. I did enjoy the chapters written from the villain’s point of view and there were times I was even rooting for him to succeed. This book definitely wasn’t my taste as far as suspense reads goes.
I like how the author kicks starts this novel with action that gets the heart pumping and the pages turning as she introduces main characters Emma Winters and Sam Ryker. The author expertly sets up the storyline with numerous possible suspects keeping the reader guessing who dun it til the very end. I enjoyed the sweet little kitty Emma finds at the visitors’ center. Where did it come from? She wonders. I thought the cat sweet and was glad it had a calming effect on Emma. This book is filled with twists, turns, faith, love, mystery, and a stalker it’s a fun adventure.
One thing about this author’s romantic suspense books is how she allows the reader into the head of the killer. She does not go too far that it gets creepy and you have to stop reading but just enough to create a nail-biting suspenseful page turner you cannot put down. Here is a peek at the killer, “Adrenaline pumped through his body as he jogged through the woods, dodging low-handing limbs. His truck was half a mile away, parked at an abandoned old barn…He heard sirens and looked over his shoulder to make sure no one chased him. He was good, but then a thin limb slapped him and anger spewed out of him….”He hated Sam Ryker. The ranger had forced him to kill.”
Themes of forgiveness, second chances and dysfunctional family dynamics come into play in a natural not preachy way. This book would work well for your next book club pick. There is so much to discuss.

OBSESSION takes us back to the Natchez Trace Park, where Emma is an interpretive park ranger. Near a visitor’s center is an old slave cemetery, and Emma is about to begin a project using a ground penetrating radar machine to locate the individual graves and determine how many slaves were actually buried there, and hopefully give them recognition and provide closure to their descendants. One night she goes back to the visitor’s center after hours, having forgotten a file, and is nearly shot by a stranger who then flees. Enter Sam, her ex-fiance who has recently returned to the area and is a law enforcement district ranger. Not to mention her newly self-appointed bodyguard.
Along with the mystery of who took shots at Emma, a break comes up in an older case – Emma’s brother disappeared ten years ago, on the same night that a young woman was killed, and during the investigation at that time the then sheriff concluded that he had killed the woman and then gone into hiding. Emma has been trying to find her brother with no luck, and she’s always partly blamed Sam for not taking care of him. When a mysterious note is left on her doorstep with her favorite flowers, it becomes obvious she has a stalker. Sam and Emma don’t know if the three incidents – the shooting, her brother’s disappearance, and the stalking – are related, but it’s clear that she is in danger.
I loved the first book in this series, STANDOFF, and this second book was just as good. As with the first book, the writing flows, with plenty of action and suspense. Ms. Bradley’s characterization is wonderful, and I loved both Emma and Sam, although I sometimes agreed with Sam that Emma needed to let him protect her and not be so quick to rush in on her own. She’s tough and feisty and independent, and Sam quickly realizes his feelings for her haven’t changed since they’ve been apart, even though he still isn’t quite sure why she called off their engagement ten years ago.
While I enjoyed watching Emma and Sam get to know each other again and begin to repair their relationship, other relationships were brought forward, and the theme of forgiveness ran through the book. Sam’s parents, after being apart for years, are suddenly getting back together, and he struggles with his feelings, unable to comprehend why his mother would take back a man who who abused her and Sam when he was young. And frankly, I sided with Sam on that.
I did guess who the stalker was, though I wasn’t 100% positive until his identity was revealed to us. There were a lot of twists and turns, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
What a strange message; especially after Natchez Trace Ranger Emma Winters had survived a harrowing life and death experience the prior evening. There was no signature on the card that accompanied an early morning gerbera daisy delivery to Emma's front door. Why had someone fired shots at her on public property and why did the flowers now seem like a creepy message, or even worse; a warning. On the other hand, why did having Samuel Ryker back in her life feel much, much better than it should?
Being a former almost-husband wasn't an advantage when it came to handling Emma Winters. Beautiful but feisty, and fiercely independent, Samuel Ryker knew to keep his distance. But when Emma literally hurled herself into his arms . . .. what was a man to do? Anyone would be shaken up after running for their life, but Samuel had a gut feeling that Emma's safety going forward was going to be more complicated than a few forensic tests could prove. Someone didn't want her restoring historic grave sites at the Trace, and that same someone (or could there be more than one?) must be stalking her every move. In either scenario, someone has a deadly obsession with Emma Winters.
In terms of "who done it?", this story scores a big win. Its multiple dead ends and false leads will find readers scratching their heads, only to be delighted over the fact that Emma and Samuel manage to strike a friendly rhythm . . . . . before it all comes crashing down again . Admittedly, Emma is "better at breaking off a relationship", so it's going to be up to Samuel to clean out some of his own emotional cobwebs . . . Emma's life may very well depend on it.
I received a copy of this book from Baker Publishing Group through Interviews and Reviews. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.
Another great suspense by Patricia Bradley! I had fun analyzing who the antagonist was through the clues dropped. It is mildly disturbing to read about criminals who are normal in “real life” yet manic in their passions. Yet, I will admit, that fact adds to the suspense. The story had heartache and hope, but I would not suggest it for people who are not into suspense reading.
The spiritual message came through more toward the end, with tones of forgiveness and restoration. Even then, it was primarily one or two scenes with Scripture. I’m not faulting that message, I just think it could have been a bit stronger if threaded through the entire book instead of just a few scenes.
The romance and infatuation was threaded through the entire story. While there was a “big misunderstanding” toward the end, I appreciated that it wasn’t a big fallout but it was more or less quickly dealt with.
This is a series I hope to continue to the end!
*I received this book from the publisher and happily provided my honest review*
This is book 2 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. The story line follows Emma, an interpretive ranger, and Sam, a law enforcement ranger, who have a shadowed past together. Their work in different parts of the National Park Service is really fascinating. The plot is fast-paced with twists and turns that will have you guessing at the identity of the villain. The villain also has a voice in the story, which adds an extra dimension to the story. Emma has issues with commitment but did love Sam before a murder and disappearance of her twin brother tore them apart. Sam has issues with anger and forgiveness but still loves Emma. As new evidence crops up regarding Emma's brother and the ten-year-old unsolved murder case, Emma is also targeted by a stalker. The past and the present converge in an adrenaline-filled chase as Sam does his best to protect Emma and figure out what happened ten years ago. If you enjoy high-intensity suspense with a bit of romance, you will enjoy this book.
I received the book from Revell/Baker Publishing Group via NetGalley and Interview & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
I loved this murder mystery fall in love again storyline. The closure and forgiveness in this book are intense. I personally think she got away from him too easily at the end, however, it was still a good story. I'm on to the next.
I definitely looked forward to book 2 in the Natchez Trace series, and once again Patricia Bradley didn't disappoint. Set in south Mississippi in Natchez Trace Park, this book focuses on park rangers Emma Winters and Sam Ryker. Emma is focused on restoring the old slave cemetery in the park and giving honor to those who had been buried there, but things come to a screeching halt when Emma is shot at while in the park and a large hole is revealed dug out next to the cemetery which may connect to Emma's twin brother who has been missing for ten years.
The reconnection between Emma and Sam as they worked together to discover the villains who are behind an unsolved murder, Emma's missing brother, and the strange occurrences happening to Emma was so well developed. Bradley also did an excellent job of threading through themes of self-forgiveness as well as forgiveness of others. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep my interest and enough red herrings that the perpetrator could have been one of several people. The lost kitten was a sweet addition along with the role that gerbera daisies played, and the ending was a heartwarming conclusion.
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions are mine alone. I was not compensated for this review.
"Obsession" is a Christian romantic suspense. This is the second book in a series, but it works as a standalone novel. Emma accidentally uncovered new evidence in an old case where her missing twin brother was accused of murder. She and Sam worked together to discover the true murderer since it may be connected to the person who kept shooting at them and leaving Emma creepy messages. Since we know more than the main characters, the reader has a better chance of guessing whodunit before Emma and Sam, but I must admit that I wasn't absolutely certain until nearly the end.
The suspense came from the physical danger as well as uncertainty about their childhood friends, who were suspects. The main characters were complex, likable, and reacted in realistic ways to events. They asked good questions as they investigated. Emma was generally sensible and resourceful, even though she didn't like needing help. Emma tended to cut and run whenever there was tension in a relationship, but she did still care for Sam, so they needed to work through this and some past issues. Both Emma and Sam needed to forgive people in their lives. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this novel to suspense and mystery fans.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Obsession, the second installment in Patricia Bradley’s Natchez Trace Park Rangers series is a romantic suspense tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page. In Obsession, Natchez Trace Ranger and historian Emma Winters’ project to survey the slave cemetery and document the accurate number of graves turns into a shocking discovery. As the danger quickly mounts, she finds herself working with her former fiancé, district law enforcement ranger Sam Ryker, to find the culprit before more innocent lives are lost.
The romance in the novel is appropriately and realistically portrayed as the former engaged couple, Emma and Sam, struggle with their unresolved feelings after not seeing each other in ten years. There are many supporting characters in the storyline, which was sometimes a bit confusing, but allowed for several possible suspects to evolve throughout the novel.
Obsession is highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense, and readers who enjoy books by authors such as Lynette Eason, Dani Pettrey, Irene Hannon, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Rachel Dylan.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
Obsession by Patricia Bradley is a fast-paced hunt through a buried hole in the ground. As the characters chase to find who is trying to ruin the hunt for a variety of slave graves in a national park, a killer is trying to hide something. Someone is obsessed with Emma. I enjoy novels that actually show how the serial killer is thinking as he stands by and plots different elements. It just makes the hunter a little more creepy. Maybe even allow the readers to feel a little empathic toward the hunter. In this novel, it does exactly that. At times, I shook my head at his errors, but it was nice to see how he justified what he was doing. Bradley does a wonderful job at keeping the suspense moving with a little bit of romance. With each novel, I believe Bradley keeps getting better. She is a top-notch romantic suspense author. Right alongside Lynette Eason, who I adore too. Overall, Obsession by Patricia Bradley is a great novel for fans of romantic suspense.
I received a complimentary copy of Obsession by Patricia Bradley from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
Natchez Trace Ranger and historian Emma Winters broke her engagement to Sam Ryker many years ago. Afterwards, he left town and life went on for Emma. Now after 10 years, Sam is back and Emma will have to work with him, as he is now a Natchez Trace Law Enforcement District Ranger. To add more complications to her life, Emma now has a stalker. She also has a mystery to solve nearby her office. When you put it all together, Obsession by Patricia Bradley is one page-turner of a book.
I couldn't put Obsession down. There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot. I did suspect the killer but Bradley didn't let me be sure of my hunch until the very end. In between there was a lot of action and some romance. I also found it interesting that both Emma and Sam struggled with some family issues on their own and together. Woven throughout this mix was a threat of spirituality that rang true with the characters for me. All in all, I thought this book had a great plot and I liked the characters. This is the second book in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. While you wouldn't have to read the first book to enjoy this one, it would be helpful as some of the characters from the first book are also in this book. At the back of Obsession, the reader also gets the first chapter of the third book in the series to whet their appetite. I can not wait!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.
I enjoyed this second story a lot more than the first. Both had the same level of suspense and fast paced action, but this one didn't feel so rushed at the end than how I found the first book ended.
The suspense started early on and with quite a bang and never really fell flat. The balance between the action and following the evidence was well done and I was totally invested in trying to figure out who the stalker was (anyone of three main suspects) and seeing how the cold case will end. With Emma I hoped for a different ending. The author kept me on my toes with three main suspects and even though I had strong gut feels towards one (or two), I was confused a lot with things happening at specific times.
I was frustrated with Emma a few times, especially with an action towards the end. Seriously. I adored Sam and sort of felt like he deserved better, but the two of them was also great together.
There were a few things which I did not feel 100% closure with by the end which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. Things which were hinted off during the story but I don't feel that I really got a clear conclusion towards the end.
Highly recommended to fans of Romantic Suspense.

A great read with lots of action! I'm going to say my favorite was the mystery part. I love guessing as to whodunnit. This book kept my interest the who way through with exciting twists and turns and yes even a little romance. I enjoyed reading a little bit about Sam and Emma's back history too. It made me understand them more. It's hard to get over certain things and that's why I wanted to knock Sam and Emma's heads together sometimes. Especially Sam's. Gotta love them through! This book made me burn some midnight hours and I didn't finish until 3 in the morning. Awesome read! Highly recommend My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own. Five stars!
OBSESSION is the second book in this series, but it stands alone. I enjoyed the unique plot and the romance was top notch. i didn't want to put this book down.
I did guess who-dun-it, but there were some twists I never saw coming. The faith message was strong and i was glad Sam got his issues resolved.
Another engaging, fast-paced, I-can’t-wait-to-figure-it-out adventure from Patricia Bradley. I loved Obsession. It was one of those books where I had to shoo people away and ignore real life so I could finish. This one really kept me guessing trying to figure out all the twists and turns. Top off an expertly-crafted plot with a swoon worthy romance and you have a book suspense readers won’t want to miss!
This book was so good! I couldn’t get enough of it! I read most of it in one sitting! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and storyline. It kept me guessing the whole time! I would highly recommend it!

This series was my first by Patricia Bradley but definitely won't be the last. I really enjoyed this book. I loved the suspense and the twists and turns. The setting was perfect for the danger and mystery in this story. The characters were realistic, and I was completely invested in them. I love the author's writing style and look forward to reading more of her books.
**Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.**
This was another really good book by Patricia Bradley. Loved the characters, especially Emma. She has a strength about her while not being "perfect." She was quick to point out areas where Sam needed to change but slow to realize her own shortcomings. But that's true to our real lives, we can see other's faults and not recognize we are doing similar things.
I also appreciated the line of forgiveness that the author dealt with.
The story itself was excellent. I love how the author gives us a peek into the thoughts of antagonist, it both gives clues and misdirection. I enjoyed trying to figure out who the stalker was.
This is a book 2 of the series but acts as a stand alone. If you've read Patricia Bradley you won't be disappointed. If you're new to Bradley's writing this an excellent choice to get a taste of her style. If you're a fan of Blackstock, Sleeman, or Brandilyn Collins you should enjoy Patricia Bradley.
Disclaimer: I did receive a copy of the book from the publisher but was under no obligation to provide a review. All opinions are my own.
Obsession is the second in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. This book captured my interest from the beginning. The heroine Emma Winters has a stalker but I don't think she ever realized the danger she was in. She was formerly involved with Sam Ryker but broke off with him ten years earlier when her twin brother went missing. She holds on to the hope that her brother is still alive. Around 75 percent into the book I thought I knew who was the stalker but I was wrong. There are some twists in turns in this book that keeps it interesting and suspenseful. I only got three hours of sleep one night because I wanted to finish this book.
I got started on Obsession eagerly anticipating some good suspense. What I completely forgot though was how GOOD Patricia keeps me in suspense for the entire story! When I got to the chapter where we are introduced to the "bad guy's" thoughts, I had that groaning moment where I remembered in Standoff that the author is fantastic at messing with my mind on who the actual bad guy is!
Happily I once again admit that I love these quick-glimpse chapters of the bad guy's thoughts and emotions. Hello, creepy! Let me just say, for the record, that I KNEW who the bad guy was like 4-5 times throughout the story. True, it was always a different person, but one of them was going to be right. Definitely something the author is exceptional at doing. I'm not going to specify which chapter it was but I literally had a "Whuuuuut?!" moment when I read it. I said it out loud! lol
I never thought about the fact that there are sites in National Parks where archeologists might want to learn more about and do a dig. This part of the storyline fascinated me. Also, the fact that someone didn't want it happening added to the mystery.
As for the characters, for everyone involved there was a lot of hurt from the past for each of them. I don't feel like any of them came away unscathed from their childhood. So much so, I'm glad I didn't go to school with any of them. lol Emma is a strong character and I enjoyed how much she loved her job. You could tell she had a passion for it. Sam is perfect for the law enforcement as a district ranger. Him coming back to Natchez Trace is clearly difficult not only for him, but for Emma as well. There's a history there and it's palpable.
There were quite a few characters that were easy to dislike in this story. lol That's always a good thing when you're reading suspense. The characters that might surprise you that I didn't care for are Sam's sister and Emma's mom. They both got on my last nerve.
That being said, I liked the redemptive thread to this story. Reminders of how important forgiveness is... forgiving others and ourselves. Also, accepting the forgiveness of Christ. I appreciated that Emma and Sam both had to work through those pieces, which in turn speak to the readers!
Bring on some more of this series because I'm ready for it! lol
*I received this book for review from the publisher. This is my personal opinion.
Emma Winters definitely gets more than she bargained for when a very personal cold case is dragged into the present at a historic site in Natchez Trace. Now forced to team up with her ex-fiance, Emma and Sam have to unravel a ten year old murder case and find out who is stalking Emma. This story has more than enough page turning action, spine chilling moments and not so buried romantic sparks. A very exciting read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I reread this book - well, listened to it again - on a road trip. This time, the book was even better than the first time because my daughter and my hubby were both listening to it along with me. I confess, I didn't remember a thing about it - big delight in a book, but tiny memory for it. We had so much fun pausing the book and discussing what we were learning. We did figure out what was going on, but of course, the only thing to expect about Patricia Bradley's twists is that there will be on. We were totally blindsided by that!
OBSESSION, book two in the Natchez Trace Parker Rangers series is a classic whodunit, that won’t disappoint.
Emma Winters, a Natchez Trace Ranger, has her life upended professionally, personally, and emotionally. When she is shot at while doing research at a historic slave burial site, it is assumed that she interrupted a crime. But, when she begins to receive gifts from a secret admirer, it turns personal. On top of that, her twin brother’s disappearance that happened ten years ago comes into question, and the law enforcement officer assigned to Emma’s case is none other than her ex-fiancé, Sam Ryker. To say her emotions are on overdrive is an understatement. Though she feels a pull on her heartstrings, Emma tries to keep her interactions with Sam on a professional level while they attempt to figure out who’s stalking her and why.
Sam Ryker had his heart crushed by Emma once; he has no intentions of letting that happen again. Even so, his investigation into the shooting and tampering at the historic grave site leads him to believe Emma’s life is in danger. He realizes maintaining a professional relationship between the two of them is going to be difficult, but he’ll do whatever it takes to keep Emma out of harm’s way.
OBSESSION leads the reader down many trails in this whodunit/romance. Emma and Sam have a lot of history, both romantically and the fact that Sam was one of her brother’s best friends. They are forced to deal with these past issues as they navigate the present danger Emma finds herself in.
I really enjoyed OBSESSION. I am a fan of Patricia Bradley, and she did not disappoint. The balance between suspense and romance was satisfying, as were the clues sprinkled throughout the story, allowing the reader to do their own sleuthing. I am not a fan of suspense books that pull a criminal out of thin air in the last few chapters, taking the reader by complete surprise. I like to be able to follow along and draw some of my own conclusions. Even if I am wrong, I at least feel a part of the hunt. Ms. Bradley executed this perfectly, keeping me completely engaged. The romance developed at a convincing pace, considering both Emma and Sam are gun-shy to start something they thought they left in the past.
I definitely recommend OBSESSION. And even though it is the second book in the series, it read fine as a standalone novel. However, do yourself a favor and get STANDOFF, book one in the series. You will enjoy it equally as well.
I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are my own.
