Do you know what I love? Being my own boss. Do you know what I hate? A lack of social life. Silver Springs is supe friendly, so I thought it was the perfect place to call home with my pet pig, Wilma. Too bad I can’t seem to get myself out to meet people, despite Wilma’s consistent nagging. Oh, did I mention she talks? Turns out I was born as a slightly defective mermaid, more animalistic than I’d like to admit. The one bonus? I’m Mrs freakin DooLittle. I consider it a curse at times. I’d been hoping that Silver Springs might be my one place to maybe meet someone special, but I’m starting to think that was all a dream I can’t reach. That is, until I decide to fancy up my special pool out back. Blaine is one fine as hell landscaper, and he’s got some delicious friends to help him. Maybe Silver Springs isn’t so bad. Now if only Wilma can stop telling me good their butts look from her level.

I can't believe that this is already book 8 in the Spell Library series! After this one only four more (and of course Love Blooms) and then this series is already over! Time really flies when you're having fun and are meeting all those new and amazing and exciting characters! And what I love most of all is that every story is different and unique. Of course, some are more my thing than others, but there is something here for every reader.
I think this is the first book in the spell library series that really focusses on the building of the relationships. This book doesn't have some big and giant plot. This book doesn't have loads of deep layered and personal growth that has to be done. This book is simply a story about four people getting to know each other and finding and making a spot in each other's life. In a way it describes mostly very mundane and normal things and yet it never gets boring.
In a way it's kinda nice to really get to know the characters, to see what they do for a living, how they spent their time, what they find important in life. It's nice to see for once all those conversations that are cut from all the other books, about favorite food and other details seeming really unimportant and yet are very important because those are the little things we like to remember to show the other that we really care. I wouldn't want every book to be like this, but for this once it was kinda nice and calm.
Well, almost calm. I have to admit that the ending kinda surprised me all of a sudden. Not an unpleasant surprise, but I hadn't really seen it coming. If you wanna know what I'm talking about you'll have to pick up the book and read until the very very end. Ow, and be prepared to grow really emotionally attached to a pig. A talking pig. A pig who knows that no one can hear her and therefore has absolutely no filter. You're gonna love her! I did at least.
And now, I'm gonna count down until I can read the next book!
I was hoping for more talking animals, maybe a little bit of craziness. Fast burn RH, multiple POV, three supe guys. It was sweet, a little quirky where Wilma is concerned but mostly about a mermaid that thinks she’s defective, realising her mates love her just as she is. But seriously they need to invest in some wash cloths or something. I get the no condoms but ugh the guys leaving their jizz everywhere and leaving Sage to clean up. Nope. Nice addition to silver springs. I liked the graphic design stuff.

This is a crazy, laugh out loud and steamy book. I love Sage and her pet Wilma. OMG I can't count how many times I spit my drink out while reading this book. Definitely NSFW either. So who does Sage meet in her book. Ryland, Terrell and Blaine who are a wolf, vampire and phoenix shifters. They happen to be doing some landscaping for Sage. So what can go wrong with meeting your mates. Its a whirlwhind for sure but you know trouble follows someone. But who will have the baggage. I laughed and cried as well as blushed when reading this book. This is a definite must read.
Sage is book 8 in the book 8 in the Spell Library series. The books in the series are written by different authors and can be read as a standalone. Sage was a good read. Sage is a mermaid shifter, which definitely is kind of cool. I never read a book with a mermaid shifter in it. Sage is away for her family because she's different. She has a cool talking pig named Wilma. I loved Wilma. Sage and Wilma have great banter. Sage meets her mates, Blaine, Ryland & Terrell. A lot of the book is spent getting to know the characters and them forming a bond. Towards the end a twist pops up that causes some issues. This one was a good read.
I am loving this series and this latest addition is every bit as good as the rest! A fun read with a talking pig (ex witch) & a mermaid I mean who would think of a story about that?? Throw in a hot vampire and a couple of shifters and you have a fun, intriguing, hot and sexy read With humour that will have you laughing out loud! The chemistry is amazing and the twists and turns keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat, this is another winner!
I love Sage, but Wilma stole my heart. Sage comes to Silver Springs because her family thinks she is defective, and she has to leave her tribe. This is a sweet, fast read that i enjoyed. Wilma is hilarious and the guys are sweet and hot. The book is another winner for the Silver Springs family.
I have to say, this is my first mermaid shifter read and it did not let me down. I have to admit how much I love her pig Wilma too lol. Sage was a rather quick read with lots of laughs, definitely some sexy times along with some drama combined.
I always enjoy a good light hearted read, one that will leave you with a smile on your face. This whole series has done that for me. All of these character have been fun to read, not to mention you get to see all of these authors, and get to know their individual styles.
In Sage, we get Sage and her mates. But what is one thing that destroy relationships? Secrets, and we have a few here. We also get to see Sage blossom into something with her mates. Also really felt for Sage because you cannot help how you are, and if others cannot, well...
The mix of shifters in this book had me entertained and smiling . I mean come on, a mermaid, phoenix, wolf and vampire. It is like the start of a joke. But I loved this book and it sure did give me a laugh.
I'm starting to realise that I have a weak spot for talking pets in books. How can you not love Wilma? The talking pig is definitely my favourite character. Sage is a mermaid who is making her way in the human world, and she settles down into Silver Springs, a city mainly for supes. When she decides to build a pond, she meets a vampire and two shifters who becomes her mates. What happens at the end comes out of nowhere as there wasn't much build-up throughout the story, but it's still a good read. . . . . . . A little bit of spoilers If you are anxious person like me, this book has a happy ending and can be read as a standalone. I hate cliffhangers and having to wait for the next book, so you're safe with this one.
I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Sage: A paranormal romance (Spell Library Book 8) Kindle Edition
by J.E. Cluney
Thank you to the author for a complimentary advance review copy. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review. This is my first trip to the Spell Library and Silver Springs, and I have to say it was deliciously light and fun, sprinkled with just the right amount of humor. Sage is a mermaid. Separated from her tribe, she is determined to make her way in the world. She settles into a new life in Silver Springs, a pro-supe community where she hopes to make her way as a graphic artist. While there, she hires Blaine to help her with her pond. He and his two friends, Terrell and Ryland, a vampire and two shifters, meet and fall for her. Oh, and she has a pig who is an re-incarnated witch. This is the literary equivalent of cotton candy, fluffy, frothy and fun. Most of the book is dedicated to the reverse harem romance – how do the guys handle being friends and being Sage's mates, can Sage accept the unusual situation and so on. And there is plenty of smexy time, the love scenes are fun and sweet. Sage would be a perfect book if one of two things happened. Either the conflict that occurs at around 80% of the way through needed to be removed or introduced earlier. It comes out of nowhere and is too easily resolved. It doesn't feel organic to the story and nearly derails one of the characters. The story is narrated mostly by Sage but the three men do get their chance often enough we get to see who they are – mostly. The light POV narration makes the story move along and provides quite a few laughs. A fun and frothy book for a hot summer day. 4 stars out of 5 https://www.amazon.com/Sage-paranorma...
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SAGE" (SPELL LIBRARY SERIES) This is my first by read by J.E. Cluney as an author I was thoroughly impressed with her writing she really knows how to pull her readers in its full if humor, hot steamy sex scenes, intrigue, mystery, secrets, magic, crazy-ex's, twists that make for a very addicting read. Sage Bower is a Deep Water Mermaid left her Tribe being cast out she arrives in Silver Springs with her Pig Wilma and she talks to her where she meets Lily cause she blew a tire and she works for Hot Wheels Garage welcomes bet and gifts her "Love Blooms Romance Book" that seems to magical. Sage does art posters and wants to do her book covers for romance novels start her own business right now she has Blaine who is a Rare Pheonix Shifter and landscaper along with Ryland BF a Wolf Shifter & Terrell who is Vampire and Vet building her a pool that she designed. Sage finds out that these three very hot gorgeous men are her mate's and Wilma who has a very dirty mind and mouth is always telling her what there doing in the yard she is the funnies character a witch once that tried to do a spell to become immortal bur she died and came back as a Pig Wilma and she saved Sage after being discarded by her Tribe for being defective. I defintely recommend to get this amazing book so well wtitten and defintely well worth the read I absolutely loved Wilma and tbe chemistry between Sage, Blaine, Ryland & Terrell was off the charts scorching hot their characters were awesome it's a must have book you don't want to miss. I can't wait to read "IRIS'S" story next she is gifted "Love Blooms Romance" book from Sage so she'll end up meeting her mate's next should be a great story from the blurb I read at the end of Sage.
This was another amazing story in Silver Springs! I loved learning about a couple of new supernatural species and how deep sea mermaids differed from regular mermaids and sirens. Who knew that a pool renovation and a book could change your life? Sage had a reserved and guarded personality due to being told that she was “defective” her whole life, but around Wilma she could be herself. I loved watching her let the guys into her life, seeing how she truly is, and discovering herself in the process. Wilma was my favorite character! She had a very dirty and sassy personality and I love the relationship she had with Sage. I need a Wilma in my life because it would make it a thousand times more interesting, hilarious, and upbeat. I’m very curious about that little trip to The Magical Rooster for her! Blaine, a phoenix shifter, was sweet, helpful, and seemed like an amazing cook. Ryland, a wolf shifter, was protective and loved mystery, crime, and reading. I think I liked Terrell, a vampire, the best out of her guys. He had a big heart for animals and as a big, tough vampire, he had a cat named Marshmallow. I loved the fact that Sage was able to communicate with Wilma and get feelings and images from other animals. I also thought her profession as a graphic designer was unique for a book character to have. I liked getting to know a little bit about what it entails and the day to day life of it. Honestly, Wilma ran this book and I would love to see her get her own harem in the future! *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
Sage was a fun story to read with likable characters, plenty of laugh, some sexy times, a bit of suspense and drama, and a hilarious pet pig. It was a cute, lighthearted story and an easy read but I would have really enjoyed it more if there had been more drama and suspense thrown into the mix. Sage spoke about being cut out of her clan and having no contact with them and being all alone, aside from Wilma, her pig; I think it would have been a great opportunity to introduce some drama with her family after she found her mates – her family trying to discredit her and her mates showing support, etc. This would have made a nice little twist. The bit of suspense/drama that did come to play at the end kind of came out of nowhere (literally) and it was so short and unsatisfying I am not sure why it was there? I thought the mates were an interesting choice to put together – a phoenix, vampire, and wolf and then Sage being a mermaid. Again, here would have been a great opportunity to toss in some drama with them accepting the others as Sage’s mates and how to work together. But drama aside, Wilma seriously made the story with all her funny remarks and I really liked the bond that she and Sage shared. I also enjoyed each of the guy’s interactions with Sage and how they each separately and all together worked to build her confidence in herself and her appearance. They all complemented each other well. Overall it was a cute, quick read with some laughs to pass a bit of time.
*I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Silver Springs books never disappoint. I love all of these authors that come together and created such a wonderful and exciting town! There is never a lack of quirky, interesting, and hilarious characters. Sage is no exception. I loved her uniqueness as opposed to the other mermaids in her family. Being rejected by her tribe hit Sage pretty hard, but it was great to see her become successful and self reliant, proving that she could do things on her own without the need of her family. However, being self reliant meant she was always alone. Turns out being successful doesn't give you everything you need. Even if you do have a super amazing and perverted piggy best friend to help ease that loneliness. This book had me going from snickering to full out laughing at the banter between Sage and Wilma. It was by far one of my favorite things about this book. The other was Sage's growth during this book as she learned to love herself through the help of her mates. There were some really sweet moments between her and the guys that helped her through that process. It seems Silver Springs finds a way to bring together the most unlikely combinations of mates, but they are always ones that are best suited for one another, ones that take weaknesses and make them strengths or help each other find and focus on the good qualities of one other.
On another note, can we see about Wilma getting her own book? Ooooh maybe before she changed into a pig. Yes, that would be amazing. I'd love to hear more about the shenanigans she got herself into.
I loved this book, in fact I've enjoyed every story so far from this imaginary world. I am in awe of how so many different authors have been able to come together and pull of such an amazing series based on the town of silver springs. I like that authors include other characters from other books in the range.
This story in particular was brilliant and mainly centered on a mermaid finding her mates. For the most part it was about their journey as a group with a touch of one liners from Wilma the pig!!!! It's a cute, light hearted and funny series with just a touch of drama and I like that, the world has been a dark place for a long time and it's nice finding some light in all of that. I appreciate that some may want more depth or more action but whenever I've read any books in this series for me it's always been about the FMC finding her harem that's the point of each book. Everybody needs a Wilma too. Wilma was hilarious and a brilliant sidekick. I must say before the characters did get together I did have a 2am omg how the hell do mermaids have sex but it's ok because it's answered in this book. One of those questions that makes you think.
I loved it and if you are looking for light and funny and a little bit of insta love then pick up this book or any book in the series as they don't even need to be read in order. I absolutely wish I lived in a town full of magic, it sounds like a lot of fun.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I am new to reverse hareem books and really enjoy the premise. This is the story of Sage, outcast by her family because she’s different. She winds up in Silver Springs because it is supe friendly. Sage lives with Wilma, a witch reincarnated as a pig, that she can hear and talk to. Sage, although not sure of herself and uncomfortable with the “differences” that made her an outcast, is determined to make something of herself. She hires Blaine to make her a pond and Blaine recruits his to friends to help. As the work on the pond progresses, each guy realizes that Sage is his mate. Sage feels the pull but is uncertain of being mated to more than one. The story goes deep into her relationships with each individual and eventually to the three guys together. There is a bit of conflict towards the end, but I found it didn’t really add to the story, except for the bit involving Wilma (don’t want to give it away). Let’s just say that I was happy how that turned out. All in all I really liked this book.
This was the first Spell Library book I’ve read and I am now going to read the earlier ones and I look forward to those to come.
Sage is a deep saltwater mermaid who has a pet cursed pig that was at one time a witch. Sage received Silver Springs' favorite naughty spelled book, and when she opened it she found her mates who were literally in her own back yard. The house that Sage lived in had a swimming pool but it wasn't as big or wasn't what she wanted completely.
Who are the men mated to the saucy the new mermaid in town?? A Vampire, a Pheonix, and a Wolf, three friends who were working on the pool and landscaping in Sage's back yard. All four in this Harem having their own baggage, some with a bit more bite and anger issues than the others. But all four find that perfect harmony and are able to find true love amongst themselves. Sage figuring out that she can be loved and seen as beautiful just the way she is, in spite of the "imperfections" that her family saw in her. The men finding out that they were finally hole again after meeting their mate. Wilma, coming back in a sleek new form, and Sage finding a new form to show her artistry and her affinity with animals.
I absolutely loved this book with the saucy potbellied pig, a mermaid who didn't know what she was missing in her life until Love Blooms, and three hot men who show that love truly conquers all!!!
You're going to want your own pet pig after this cute read
This book will put a smile on anyone's face! Sage is a sweet mermaid making it on her own in the world and she has a spunky pig named Wilma. Sage has been on her own since she was 18 due to being a defective mermaid. While being on her own has made her stronger and independent the fact that everyone she knew turned their back to her has left her with emotional baggage. Luckily she has her pig who is now her family. Wilma totally gets the win in this story cause she is sassy, sweet and dirty. It was hard not to wish for my very own talking pig. She does a great job in helping Sage find her worth. Then Sage meets the guys landscaping her yard and she lucks out in getting 3 hot, sweet men. They help her truly see her worth and getting her to understand that there's nothing defective about her. The steam between her and guys was a while sauna room's worth but I loved their interactions. This was just such a fun read that I highly recommend.
This book was such a hoot! Not only was the main character Sage an interesting creature set in the world of Silver Springs, a deep water mermaid, but her friend Wilma the pig brings out all the laugh out loud moments with her witty, sexually charged comments. Sage has been outcast from her family for being different. Basically on her own, expect for Wilma (who has an interesting backstory of her own), Sage is trying to create her own space in the safety of Silver Springs. To feel fully at home, she decides she wants an epic pool to enjoy and be her full mermaid self. When the men come to her home who are going to make her dream pool come true, none of them can deny the instant connection they feel. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and story. We also get to see different perspectives as some chapters are told through the point of view of Sage's men, which was a nice change of pace. All in all, I think Sage is a great addition to the Spell Library series and I hope we get a sequel with Sage and her mates!
Back in Silver Springs supernatural community for another instalment of "CC Pine's Love Blooms" spell laden fated mates adventure. Introducing Sage, a freelance graphic designer and 'defective' mermaid, along with her best friend Wilma, a witch currently reincarnated as a pig. Sage, having recently moved to Silver Springs is having her inground pool replaced with a stunning lagoon by contractor Blaine, with the help of his friends Terrell and Ryland.
I really enjoyed the setting, the build-up and the execution of this story. J.E. Cluney has a masterful voice and presents another great character in this series. Look out for Topaz and Topaz Goes Downunder in the same world.
ONE FUN-FILLED MAGICAL OVERLOAD!!! Perky pig! Cluney dropped the bomb and lowered the boom, ringing my bell and blowing me out of the water with this brilliantly composed crème de la crème, laying out one riveting storyline and enchanting plot, blasting this hot little number to life spectacularly. Quirky mishaps and surprising happenstance, showcase the taxing trials and pulse racing tribulations, stumbling through the funky twists and crazy turns, putting our characters through their paces. Shenanigans, escapades and mayhem throws this gem under the bus only to shake it out and do it again, rolling with the drama, turmoil, intrigue, thrills and intense situations, along with a boatload of magic and sass, you have one intoxicating experience. Coiled, knotted and tightly woven, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe inspiring in it's depth, testing our characters in ways they could have never saw coming. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Cluney, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
This was a really neat and intriguing novel that held my attention from start to finish. It's not often that you read about a mermaid shifter and I really liked this element of the novel. This was my first read by the author and I went into this book blind and I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline is engaging, the characters are fascinating and the whole book has little twists and turns in it that keep you hooked from start to finish. I really loved Sage and her whole story and don't get me started on her pet pig! This pig stole the show and I seriously think Wilma needs her own book (possibly a novella?). Are you intrigued yet? You should be. Oh... and did I mention that Sage doesn't just find a mate in this book...she finds mates...yes I said mates....do yourself a favour and pick up this whimsical novel ASAP!
Fun series of stand alone books in a shared universe with a little bit of character cross over.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Another winner from the Silver springs world. Sage, a mermaid shifter meets her 3 mates shortly after arriving in Silver Springs. The story was wonderful and sexy and there wasnt a lot of drama, instead it focused on the relationship of the characters and how the men seemed a little confused at first of how a shared mate situation was going to work out, and Sage's insecurities about herself. I loved all the characters but especially Wilma who was absolutely hilarious! There was a little drama and heartache towards the end with a situation involving Wilma and I was so heartbroken I nearly knocked a star off my rating! The author redeemed herself though and gave us a HEA, so it remains a 5 star rating!Highly recommend I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review
It’s hard to move beyond the words whispered and sometimes yelled into our psyches when we’re young. For graphic designer, Sage, her family left and unfortunate mark on her. Declaring her defective, Sage has been on her own for a long time. Thankfully her talking (only to her) pig, Wilma, loves Sage and offer plenty of support while doing her best to bring Sage to the dark, please read sexy and inappropriate, side. Sage is shocked to meet her mates, but as she trust the bonds and opens herself up, she learns a valuable lesson in unconditional love.
When the past rears its head, can Sage and her mates recover? The only way to know is to read for yourself. You won’t be disappointed to this addition to the Spell Library series.
Cute and flirty! I’ve read a couple books from this series and they have all been cute and heart warming. I like that Sage is an unique type of shifter. She has some self confidence issues due to her family history that takes the love and acceptance of her mates to overcome. She becomes more confident and sassy. Her mates are sweet. The story mostly focuses on their relationship development with a small plot about her becoming more sure and a jealous ex. I almost got real upset at one point.. but thankfully it’s not as it seems. Wilma is the hilarious side kick we all need in our lives. It’s got multiple POVS. It’s got insta mates. It’s got hot steam and fast paced. It’s a quick HEA feel good read!
Pigs, mermaids, werewolves, vampires and phoenix's, oh my! J had me laughing out loud with the talking pig. Wilma is hilarious and honestly needs her own book. (Hint hint) But I digress. This book is about Sage and her surprise fated mates, Blaine, Ryland and Terrell. I wanted to hug poor Sage after reading about her family issues. Her confidence has been shattered because of her family thinking her "defective." The men help build her back up and make her realize just how special and beautiful she truly is. Add in the antics of her best friend and this makes for a great book. I was given this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review that I am willingly giving.
Sage is new to silver springs and after being driven from her home for her flaws she hires someone to make her backyard her oasis.
Sage may miss home but she is definitely not alone. Cue Wilma her best friend/family and talking pig. I enjoyed Wilma's comments throughout the book. She added a funny element to the book that I liked. I mean gotta love your friend that's obsessed with hot men.
The three guys who work to build her pool show her that she is perfect the way that she is and to not be ashamed. Sage battles with this through out the book due to her skin condition and talking to animals. I'm glad she had her mates to help her see her beauty.
This is another fab addition to the series and I really enjoyed following along with Sage as she headed to a surprising HEA. Wilma, her trusty companion, was key in making this a highly entertaining read. Her snark and dirty mind really took Sage outside the box when it came to potential and I loved that Sage had Wilma in her corner. Her drama of her past was a huge weight for Sage and Wilma became her family/friend...along with some handsome landscapers ;) There is a lot of emotion in this story, lots of humour and definitely lots of steamy romance that made my heart melt. Such good fun to read and I look forward to more books set in this great town.
