I love Fox and this one has a bat. This would be a cute introduction to nocturnal animals and it's a gentle, funny easy reader for very beginning readers to boot.

Loving all my Corey Tabor books lately but this one will have kids interacting and predicting until they only think they know what's happening.

Cute little read about being afraid of monsters in the dark. The illustrations are beautiful and it’s easy to read. Not too wordy.

This story is about a fox who has to overcome his fear of different things at night. He has to slowly wander the forest and uncover what things truly are, which helps him to not be so afraid. For younger or newer readers, this book would a wonderful way to practice. The language isn’t too tough for what the story is and the I’ll be very helpful for students!

I don't think my kids and I have encountered a book by Corey Tabor that we all haven't loved. We constantly read _Mel Fell_ before bed, and this one made my 4-year-old nervous at first ("a monster?!"), but was just silly enough that she asked to read it again.

Fox claims the night is full of monsters. Bat, raccoon and skunk don't think so. Who are the monsters?

Not sure if younger readers will be confused or that this is the book to choose for night time fears, but maybe with a parent it would work.

I had enjoyed a previous title in this easy reader series, Fox Versus Winter and enjoyed it. This title addresses one of young children’s greatest fears, monsters in the night. These monsters happen to be animals that are nocturnal. So this title addresses two themes fear and learning about a few nighttime animals. Remember it is an easy reader so it is very basic. Looking forward to more titles in this series.

Eyes, teeth, night, monster, bat, night, smell.

This is an excellent story that children who are afraid of the dark can find comfort in. A fearful fox wanders his forest at night while bumping into who he thinks are monsters but turn out to be just friends! Together they all set out to ensure fox that there is no danger in the dark as they faithfully rally behind him. When the group does find a monster, they’re surprised to find out that the creature is tiny and much more afraid of them, than they are of him. A wholesome tale to help children overcome their fear of the dark as it proves to us that we are able to find comfort even in the absence of a nightlight.

2021, Theodore Seuss Geisel Award, Fiction

The story was about a fox who was scared of the dark because he was worried about monsters coming to get him. He goes through the night with the friends he made along the way who are there to show him that there is nothing to be scared of in the night. I would love to use this book to teach students about their bravery, and that it is always kind to help a friend through something they struggle with.

I liked that the book was just a silly tale! Though there was still a lesson about not being scared of the 'monsters' in the night, it was light hearted and fun and it did not feel like a lesson was being given.

Fox is up late, and is afraid. He is sure that there are scary monsters in the night. In fact, while looking through his binoculars, he sees something really scary - Oh, it's just a bat. Bat takes fox out into the night to show him that there's lots of fun nocturnal animals.

I loved the twist at the end and I'm sure our early readers will, too. As always, Corey Tabor's illustrations are cute and fun. Designed to be a read together, and then to read independently, Fox at night makes a good bedtime, or anytime shared read.

Fox at Night by Corey R Tabor, an I Can Read! Book: My First Shared Reading level. Short beginner reader sentences guide young readers through Fox’s camp out. As evening settles in, Fox uses his binoculars to see the forest, but he soon gets scared by what he sees. Befriended by Bat, the first scary thing he sees, readers soon realize that Fox can only see part of the picture. Soon the two are out investigating and making new friends, all of whom Fox once thought were scary, but came to realize things are not always what they seem. A nice beginning reader book with a nice message.

Fox's imagination is getting the better of him at night. He's seeing and hearing monsters everywhere. Some nocturnal creatures offer to help Fox see that the night is full of friends, not monsters. Or is it?

I didn't see the twist at the end of this coming. It would be a good one to use for making predictions. I like the friendly bat and raccoon, and the illustrations are really cute. The repetitive nature of the text is great for kids just beginning to read or in the pre-reading stage.

Preconceived notions-- fox is afraid of the dark because there are monsters so when he meets a bat and a racoon to help him realize that there aren't monsters in the night, he runs into a monster who think they're the monsters.

It's fun. It's an "I can read" book, so it was a simple set of words with some dialogue and narration and simple illustrations with fox wrapped up in a blanket as he troops through the woods and meets the woodland creatures.

Fox at Night is a very short and cute book. Plus, I can relate to the Fox. I don't like being outside at night. Fox searches for monsters and finds one at the end. Fox makes a friend with Bat, and they explore the night together. Instead, Fox with the help of Bat: finds other animals. Fox believes the night is full of monsters. In the end, Fox and his friends ended up finding a monster who was scared them and called them monsters.

That was cute! I picked this up because it won the Geisel Award but I haven't read the other in the books. Fox is scared of monsters that turn out to just be nocturnal animals (bat, raccoon, skunk) until a little surprise at the end. The surprise end made me think of the Elephant and Piggie series and the repetition of this book show why it won the award but I still didn't love it. I'm interested in reading the rest of the series though.

This is a cute story that I feel many children can relate to. The illustrations help to tell the story as well. As Fox starts to meet the creatures he believes are monsters, he realizes they are not monsters and there is nothing to be afraid of. I really like this story since many kids can relate to it when they get scared at night when it's dark and they believe there are monsters. The theme is really good for the kids to know that there are no monsters.

Fox At Night is one of reading series from I Can Read.

Fox is a scared fox. He’s scared of monster at a night.
One night, he peeks through his binoculars and see a white yellow eyes. He scream, but turns out it’s a just a bat. A bat tells him to be brave at night because there’s no monster. And so, a fox and a bat embarks on a night journey to learn about bravery.

A simple story with happy ending and beautiful illustration. Very recomended to be read as bedtime stories.

Fox At Night is a very adorable story about a very relatable fox who is scared at night because he thinks there are monsters outside. As a child who was scared of the dark and also had a fear of monsters at night, it would be very comforting reading this and realizing that there aren’t monsters outside, just nocturnal animals living their lives. There is also a funny little plot twist at the end of the story which is bound to make any little one giggle.

Fox at Night is a book about the fox sleeping at night. The fox is scared and sees things and thinks they are monsters. The fox then realizes it is a bat, the bat helps him overcome his fear of monsters. This is a great book for children who have a hard time falling asleep. I believe books like these can really help children through their issues, and with the bat helping the fox, it might help a child as well.
