A major villain of this story arc makes two significant appearances in this volume, so it feels more focused than the last volume in this series.

This volume covered Yoshikage Kira Wants to Live Quietly to Heart Attack. I like how we got to see so much more of Kira. He is definitely my second favorite jojo villain. I also liked the development of Yukako. She is definitely not my favorite character. But i enjoyed her more in this storyline.

Éstas ratas no me parecieron interesantes.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I am 33 years old. I live in northeast Morioh, where there are many villas. I am not married. I am employed by the Kameyu department store. Each evening I return home no later than 8 p.m. I don't smoke. I drink, but only occasionally. I go to bed by 11 p.m. and always get at least eight hours of sleep. Before I lie down, I drink a cup of warm milk and do 20 minutes of stretching to relax my body. With that routine, I find that I sleep soundly all the way until morning. Like a baby, I awake with no fatigue or stress. And at my last checkup, I was given a clean bill of health.
I'm explaining so that you'll understand that I'm a person who wants to live his life feeling at peace. I refuse to create dilemmas - or enemies - that will disturb my thoughts and keep me up at night worrying if I'll win or lose. And by maintaining that approach toward society, I have found that I can attain happiness. Of course, if I were to fight someone, I would never lose.

We’re back baby! There’ll never be a cooler introduction to a stand than Killer Queens’s. Kira is firmly established as the main antagonist. I need his suit.

Characters and Stands:

Yoshikage Kira + Killer Queen 🐐🐐 + Heart Attack 💀

Aya Tsuji + Cinderella 👠

Koichi Hirose + Reverb Act 3 🚷

- it's fitting that the new baddie is called kira. (death note, anyone?)
- that's some intense stuff
- she's cinderella, i would've thought she'd give her till midnight at least
- the cinderella arc/lady is too kinky

Wow, I really overestimated how hard part 4 was gonna go rating wise for me because this shit sure is a far cry from running a perfect 5 stars for every volume at this point. Not to mention, this is the first Kira volume, and I NEVER thought I'd feel this weakly about it.

While there are genuine flaws in the part that I think are highlighted by this volume, I also think it's just sorta the misfortune of how the content was divvied up - most of the volume contains the Cinderella arc and ONLY the first half of Sheer Heart Attack, which is the shit half that basically is all Koichi being a FUCKING IDIOT. The fact that Jotaro was quick enough to save Koichi's dumb ass is both a symbol of his badassness and also probably the biggest mistake of his life.

That all being said, the Cinderella arc wasn't nearly as bad because it honestly wasn't bad at all, just not as interesting to me as some of the other arcs that flew equally as much in the face of the more generic minor villain format of the previous parts. And, it goes without saying that the Kira content was all a BEAUTIFUL 5/5 level of content. On the Kira content, one last note to all the Shigechi haters as well: this fucker LITERALLY DIES RIGHT AFTER BEING INTRODUCED, so please someone explain to me what the FUCK he could have possibly done wrong (that being said, I did actually find his death to be a little less impactful than it was in the anime, but maybe that's just because I already knew it was coming).

Quote of the Volume:

"My name is Yoshikage Kira. I am 33 years old. I live in northeast Morioh, where there are many villas. I am not married. I am employed by the Kameyu department store. I'm glad that I didn't drop this series, as this picked the quality back up. I don't know what it was with the last 2 volumes but they were garbage, like I get that the name of the series is Bizarre Adventure but at least make the stories about JoJo, anyway.

I really like the introduction of the next big bad, he's just a normal guy that carries around a corpse hand and wants to be left alone. It's pretty weird but I don't something is just really appealing about him. He has two separate stories in this being, Yoshikage Kira Wants to Live Quietly and Sheer Heart Attack, with a breather arc in between but we'll talk about that later.

Yoshikage Kira's whole thing with the hand is nuts he loses it and has to get it back after some kid picked up up thinking it's a sandwich, the thing is right he's got a stand and can easily kill him but he just hides and does everything to avoid people, it's so charming. Then we have the Heart Attack story where our heroes have clues to hunt him down and I don't think it's over yet but boy is it intense, the guy doesn't even know what a stand is and is learning so much on the fly. So whilst he isn't very powerful now I can imagine him easily taking on all the guys in this.

As for the other arc Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella It's not as intense as the other two but again there is a lot of charm in it and it had something I didn't expect from JoJo's, a love story. This is the kind of filler I like, one about the supporting characters that give them time to shine, not some nonsense about a an idiot mangaka, I hate Rohan.

I'm also very happy to have Josuke back in the front seat of the series, he disappeared for a while.

This is a vast improvement over the previous couple of volumes but still doesn't quite reach the dizzying heights that Jojo has reached in the past.
This volume continues with the search for the serial killer who has been stalking the city for over 15 years without anyone noticing. I really like this storyline and although Stands are involved I feel like it works to ground the series a lot more than in the past.
The Stands in Part 4 have been really interesting but I'm not a huge fan of how they are evolving and gaining any new ability the story needs at that time. I think this is especially noticeable with Reverb which has gone from band new to a new super powerful third generation in only five volumes. It ads a little excitement to the story as you never know what's going to be thrown at you next but it also takes away most of the suspense because you know the author is just going to change the Stand to allow our heroes to survive and be victorious.
There is a great moment in this volume where I actually ended up feeling for a character that I have absolutely detested in the past so credit where credit's due that was very well done.

Yoshikage Kira Wants to Live Quietly is the best villain introduction so far. A perfect blend of answering the simple questions about who the overarching antagonist is, while begging so many more questions. He’s a compelling Patrick Bateman-type and elevates every page he’s on. He carries this volume almost cover to cover, with only the Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderall chapters breaking up the Kira narrative.

Wanna give special shine to the “People of Morioh” chapter, chapter 82. It’s a perfect curtain-call to end “Act I” and introduce “Act II.” Everybody gets a little nod, and all characters are together in one place for a panel as they meditate on the aftermath of Yoshikage Kira Wants to Live Quietly. Chefs frickin kiss.

Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella is plain Jojo’s fun. Wild stands, absurd storytelling, and some exploration of side characters is the payoff of this self-contained story.

Then things heat up (pun intended) in Sheer Heart Attack. Kira finally has a showdown with the main cast, more of his Stand’s powers are revealed, and Koichi’s Reverb gets a level-up. Can I get a hell yeah?

Man. This one hurt.

Kira vs Shigechi is always a tear-jerker for me. Shigechi was MAD annoying in the last volume, but I can’t help but love the little dude before he gets killed in a horrible way. Kira is a FREAK too. I mean wow. The finger thing at the beginning was something else. 🤢

I’ve never been a huge fan of Yukako’s “fight” in this volume, but that changed today. It’s actually a pretty deep story about remaining true to yourself, and Koichi coming in for the save (and doing it in such a noble way, requesting to be blind & what-not if he makes the wrong choice) was beautifully done. Ko loves her for who she is and that’s what matters (even if she literally kidnapped him in a previous volume)!

Heart Attack vs Jotaro & Koichi is always fun to watch/read. It shows Jotaro’s experience & Ko being unreliable—for once! I wish the fight didn’t end there though—the rest of it is too good!! I’m excited for the next volume.

4 stars! 😆

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy action and comedy because Jojo’s has some weird and funny moments that can catch you off guard and give a good laugh. The story is set in the fictional city Morioh and Josuke faces the challenge of trying to find the hidden identity of the secret killer in the town. One part that I disliked was that this chapter was a bit boring because it felt like it was filler, which it wasn’t. They set up two important plot points in the story, but for some reason it felt boring to read. It only got interesting in the end, where the action really got intense.

Damn! Shigechi was an annoying ass kid, but the way he went out was so sad. I really enjoyed the Cinderella story. Yukako was crazy trying to change anything about her face because she’s literally so gorgeous! A new character, Yoshikage Kira, is introduced and turns out to be a lot more of a handful than anybody thought. Sorry Star Platinum, but Deadly Queen has the best stand design of all time. I previously said I only started JoJo’s to get to Stone Ocean so I could properly simp over Jolyne and that’s still true, but I also wanted to meet Deadly Queen and I was not let down! I wonder when the name gets changed to Killer Queen because I really love that name.

You know it's trouble if you have an intelligent serial killer with a very powerful Stand. I love Killer Queen's design as a Stand, it's got a predatory look with distinct 'death' iconography, fitting for a serial killer. It's funny if you think about it in live action terms though, killer's appearance was based on David Bowie and his Stand loosely on Freddie Mercury :)

Yukako also has her chapter where she pays a special esthetician money for a makeover, all to have her true love love her back. It turns out Koichi loved her all along for her fierce personality (and natural beauty). Endearing chapter, all in all.

An alright storyline sandwiched between two wonderful fights. Even though Yukako isn’t my favorite I did find the Cinderella story to be emotionally engaging in a way more complex than this series has gone before. I’ve noticed in general this Part seems to have more empathy and emotional gravity than what came before. Both of the Killer Queen fights in this rules, a real sense of danger and Araki’s action storytelling is at it’s best.

Honestly the more DIU goes on, the stronger it gets, the characters really get more time to shine and become fully fleshed out. I really enjoy seeing the mystique of Kira (and his stand) including a showcase of Killer Queens ability. Koichi getting his moment towards the end of the volume is refreshing, I loved seeing Echoes (Reverb) act three for the first time again. Also I really enjoyed the arc with Yukako & the lengths she’ll go to win Koichi’s heart.

This part is moving so damn fast! I’m in shock that it’s already at the place it is. Shigechi is a freak but he’s also just a boy :’( like if you cry every time. Kira is, again, genuinely insane and such a well-written villain. Honestly this whole part is just full of truly nuts people. Can’t forget yandere Yukako (who I still love) and sociopathic Rohan. Ok also obsessed with Okuyasu crying at Koichi kissing Yukako. Not as good as some other volumes, but still good!

Deadly Queen blows Shigechi away, thankfully Harvest was able to reach Josuke and Okuyasu before blowing up. Yukako gets a makeover by Cinderella and Koichi falls for her. Koichi vows to go blind if he doesn't choose the right face for Yukako. Thanks to Koichi's Reverb he and Jotaro escape Heart Attack.
