Shift happens.

Gem’s life has gone from bad to worse faster than her secret demon baby can say “baby daddy.” What started as a crappy job and a possible killer to bring to justice has become a full-blown conspiracy from hell. Literally.

Demons are being summoned into New Orleans and Gem is sure there’s a Nephilim behind it. Now, all she has to do is prove it. Oh yeah, and not get herself killed in the process.

Too bad for Gem, everyone has secrets, including her. And when the powers-that-be find out what she’s capable of, they’ll stop at nothing to silence her once and for all.

DNF series. Quit during book 3. It started out as a good series, but the amount BS the main female thinks about and outloud conversations "hiding from the bad guy" scenerios to display humor was very annoying. Lacks common sense and intelligence. The gorgeous long-lived MMCs, cower to the stupid FMC's every whim and stupid ideas. Disappointing.

On The Run

•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded or faint of heart!•••

This series must be read in order. The first book is "Kiss Of Death". The second book is " Knock 'Em Dead". This is the third book. I can't wait to read "Dead To Rights"!

Gem is on the run and in hiding from her former bosses. Everyone, it seems, is out to get her and they don't even know about her secret demon baby yet. Between Jax and Adrik she has more than she can handle in the love department... So no real surprise there. Can she find the Nephilim who is actually summoning demons and letting them loos on Earth? Will she ever be able to make up her mind on which man to keep? Is her Gran really gonna be stuck as a bug forever? She sure didn't enjoy her stint as a bug. Will she ever be safe again?

Love, love, love it

I absolutely love this book and series. Gem and her group friends and doing what they can to save the world and not get caught by the SFF in the process. Plus she has to decide between two hot incredible men who are both wanting her. And let's not forget about Gran...I want to be her when I grow up.
Each time I read a book from Heather Hildenbrand, I know that I am in for a fun and entertaining time. You really need to read this book and series.

Oh my goodness was this book good! First of all, Gran seriously needs her own side story. She's probably my favorite character in this series. The women is hilarious, but I honestly love all of these characters. I also really like the friendships and the character building. They all have their own certain personalities and you never see one character fall to the waste side. They each have there shining moment and I love that about this series.

This book has so many twist and turns, You'll laugh, you'll cry, and trust me when I say you will be on the edge of your seat at times. I'm definitely giving this book a 5 star rating. The only thing I'm bummed about is waiting for the next book to come out. I highly suggest picking this book up if you love a rag tag group of friends fighting the forces of evil.

4 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
A new reader needs to start with book 1, or will be lost. This book jumps right in where book 2 left off. This was incredibly hard to review for me, because there are too many thoughts in my head about it -that all lead to spoilers. I really enjoyed it, read it in one sitting, cause I couldn't put it down, but hated the cliff-hanger ending! I wanted to see something specific happen - that Gem actually ends up making the decision between the 2 guys, the Nephilim or the panther shifter, decisions, decisions, both have their merits! Or to maybe see this end up as a ménage (yes please!), as they are so tough to choose between! The ending is kind of left with a reader's assumption of who she might be choosing (but it's not confirmed), but there is no resolution at the end, we have to wait for book 4! OMG, the wait will totally stink!

"'Will she, won't she' who will she choose?!" Honestly, I had hoped this would be an improvement from the last one, but just when you think she has chosen, a big eye roll at the end makes you realize these books will never satisfy. This is unfortunate because the characters and world have much potential to be great. It seemed like this one should have been "the end," but oh no! Something else has been added, and oh no, we must investigate one of our "friends" if he can even be called that. And not once has our girl gotten laid. Not. Once. You'd think there would be more spice with how much she talks about her "lady parts" and "hard nipples," but nooooooo. I'm honestly just finishing this, so I don't have a DNF this year, but these books are starting to get on my last nerve.

Gem is sassy and strong, and I can't help but love her. She's got so much going on, including those trying to kill her, to sexy paranormals who want her, and way more on her plate than anyone should have to deal with. And just when I thought I knew which direction the story was going, the author took a hard left and took me in a direction I never would have expected.

The action hardly slow, and the story had me so caught up that there was no escaping. The heroine is strong and capable but has a group of paranormal friends who have her back. It's just the kind of story I love to read, and I'm so excited to see where the author takes us next.

This is the Third book in Supernatural Security Force series. Gem's life just keeps getting more complicated from a demon baby she needs to protect. To a panther shifting baby daddy. A love triangle with a panther shifter and an angel. Then a conspiracy from the individuals who were sent to earth to protect it and get rid of the demons. Finding a few friends to help her out along the way. To finding who killed her father and discovering some of her family has lied to her. I love this book. Gem is a strong female who just wants to do what she feels is right. Others don't always agree with her plans or actions. This is a great story and a must read.

Snarky, action-packed, heart-stopping continuation

Gem's story continues. And woah! Picking up right where book 2 ended, we follow along with Gem and crew as she fights to protect her loved ones, hunts her father's killer, does her best to raise the little one, and remains in the middle of a love triangle. Gram is still hilarious and Gem's snark level is fantastic (complisulted is my new favorite word)!

Well written, fun, action-packed, and just the right level of steam, I highly recommend you continue with Gem on her journey.

Heather had me hooked! Book 3 starts right where book 2 ended. Gem finds herself deep in investigation mode while also juggling her feelings towards a sexy shifter and a steaming hot angel. I loved the comic relief provided by Milo and Gran. Seeing Milo more in this book was great, since he is one of my favorite characters. Also, without saying too much, the ending has a phenomenal twist that leaves a door open for another book in the future.

Supernaturally exciting

This book is just action-packed. Exciting the whole way through. Friends and rivals with the lines constantly blurred. Gem and her friends had a heck of a battle ahead of them and their chance of success looked slim.
There were so many revelations in this book. And Gem’s feelings for Jax and Adrik were certainly a big theme too. Decisions, decisions..

I love Gem and Milo!! They are a great duo and best of friends. Their interactions are hilarious.
Gran is the best and is just as entertaining as Milo is.
The pacing was great and I’m
So happy that the main arc was resolved in this installment. I am loving the hook and since I love this series I will happily continue onto the next book. 😍

I highly recommend the audiobook. It is fantastic. The narrator truly elevates the book. Her performance and voices are spot on.

Great read

Death's Door picks up directly after Knock 'em Dead. Gem's mission continues and she has got her work cut out for her while juggling motherhood, men, and conspiracies. This read like the final book in a trilogy, tying up all the original story lines but ends with a new line to pull and there are two more books in the complete series, so many more pages to witness Gem kick @$$.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership)

A case of absolute power currupts absolutely. Dark Angels sent to rid the world of demons have their own agendas.
The lure of a pardon to heaven had twisted the thoughts of a couple, and they had twisted ideas of how to complete their missions.
Luckily, Gem and her group of misfits were fighting the good fight even when the whole world was against them.

Great book

I am loving this series, it's sassy, sexy, magical and well written. Gem is getting into deep trouble, again, but are her friends and love interests enough to help save her?

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first two. Ive been listening to the audiobooks. The first two I was super engaged, but I found myself losing focus this time.
There is still good action and adventure.
I didn’t care for the love triangle.
Funny moments with Gem’s Grandma and Fergie.

So I am liking the series a bit more. Gem got under my skin and now I am determined to find out how she develops. Gem is still struggling between Jax and Adrik, but I was not fond of the idea of trying to make Jax into a bad guy all of a sudden. I didn't feel that added anything to the storyline

This was busy on every page.

Gem is such a bad@ss, and she doesn’t even realize all that she is. What a tornado this was! All kinds of things going on, and some surprises from a few characters. And mind blown by the ending. Need the next book now!

(Well, not exactly an audio CD, but part of an audible audio set)
I still enjoy the story, but it's getting too romantic and sexy for me... It does bring up double crossing within an organization's very root and foundation...

Good

One of the big bads goes down. But of course the work is never finished. And still not a ton of progress in the romance department, which was disappointing.
