Heaven wants to kill me. Hell wants me to rule. So what’s a girl to do when powerful forces on both sides are clambering to get their hands on me?
Stay as far away from the cosmic drama as I possibly can.
Though, for those who know me, they know it’s easier said than done. But I’ve promised to take a break, to lay low, to let someone else handle the demons for a while. It’s not just my life on the line right now, and a nice long nine months off sounds pretty freaking nice.
And all is actually good until a new gang of supernaturals show up, wanting to claim Thorne Hill as their own. Like I have time for that. But the more they press, the more I realize I might have to accept a role I never wanted to in order to save not only myself, but my beloved town.
For there can only be one ruler of the night, and all hail the Witch Queen.

Heaven wants to kill Callie, and Hell, wants her to rule. So what is a girl to do, with all-powerful beings on both sides trying to get her hands on her? Stay as far away from the celestial drama as possible. Easier said then done for Callie. She has been a beacon of trouble for as long as she can remember. But she has promised to take a break and lay low from fighting demons. And what better time then now? After all, its not just Callie's life on the line... Except, when a gang of supernatural beings tries to claim Thorne Hill as their own, Callie can't just sit back and do nothing. She may just have to accept a role that she has never wanted, not only to save herself but her town- and the world. Again.
SO as I have stated multiple times, I absolutely LOVE Callie and Lucas. Seriously. I will not get tired of them. Their story can go on forever and I would absolutely devour every single book. And this book is no different.
Callie is still badass and amazing. She has been through soooo much, and each time she comes out victorious and so much stronger. She is a demon-slaying not-your-ordinary- witch. She is more powerful than any other witch- and instead of being power-hungry and taking over, she uses her power to not only look after herself, and her makeshift family- BUT also the town, and yes the freaking world. She can do pretty much anything.
Lucas is one of the oldest and most powerful vampires in the world. With age comes more power- yet he still kept his humanity in tact. He is protective of the few people he actually likes and trusts in his life, and will do anything for them. He's not afraid to bend- or even break- the rules for those he cares about.
Talk about power couple. Between Lucas and Callie- the two are practically unstoppable- which is precisely why it seems the whole world- including heaven and hell- is out to get them. If it's not one thing, it's another, and sometimes it doesn't seem there is an end in sight. Callie and Lucas have fought tooth and nail to get exactly where they are- with many, many speed bumps along the way. And when it finally seems they can get exactly what they want in life, another curve ball is thrown their way. Will they be able to survive this, or have they finally met their match?
I am dying to get my hands on the next book- to read even more about Callie and Lucas. 5 Witch Queen ⭐'s out of 5 ⭐.
This series just keeps getting better with each new book. I couldn’t read Queen of Night fast enough. After the way book 5 ended I HAD to know what was going to happen next. This fantasy world that Emily has built is one of the best that I have gotten to experience in quite some time. It’s filled with magic, action, humor and plenty of steam. I just can’t get enough.
Hell has quite literally broken loose in Thorne Hill and The Devil...is one of the good guys? Callie is still reeling from the fact that her uncle, Lucifer, has not only escaped Hell but showed up to save the day and her sister. While grateful her sister is alive, she’s now worried because the devil never does a favor without expecting something in return. On top of stressing over her uncles intentions, there is still the issue of vamps set on pushing Lucas, her awful former family, her guilt over keeping secrets from those she loves, rebellious demons, her father’s family wanting to find her to kill her, her internal battle of can she trust her uncle or can’t she and now power hungry werewolves. Oh, and there is also the small issue of Bael, one of the craziest and most powerful demons, trying to escape Hell to take Callie as his bride and by proxy rule over Hell. Just another day in the life of Callie. Wake up, fight demons, save lives, go to sleep, rinse and repeat. And with a baby on board her desire to protect herself and those she loves has only increased her instincts and her power. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect them all. Even if that means doing the one thing she never wanted. All hail the QUEEN!!! This book, like most of the others, does end on a pretty wild cliff hanger. So be prepared to be left slack-jawed and anxious to find out what will happen next.

That there at the end - what did you think was going to happen???? No take backsies....
A lot of this was filled with repetitive things, I heard "I'm so tired and "I'm so sick" way too many times, I know there's things going on and the h is under pressure but did we need her inner dialogue to continuously harp on this. I guess it just threw me for a loop b/c she is usually pretty bad ass and an action kind of girl I need more meat in this series, especially with the last couple of books.
Maybe now things will move along considering everything that happened in the last 5 min!!!
This series just gets better and better! With every captivating word, every loving gesture, every show of bravery, every battle, this series continues to hold me absolutely spellbound. This series is utterly perfect in every way. From the incredible world building, to the intriguing characters, to the outstanding storyline, this series has it all.
This book continued to push the boundaries of the story that started it all in Dead of Night and continuously holds me entranced. I feel like I am living in this world right along with Callie and Lucas. Feeling protective over Callie’s friends and family, feeling comforted by Lucas, exchanging banter with Eliza. I have felt like I have become a part of this story and it a piece of me.
In this book we get more of Lucifer, which I love! He’s just so cocky and witty, I just love it. I genuinely enjoy Lucifer and Callie’s relationship. And then there is Callie’s friends and family which never seize to amaze me. The lengths they go to protect one another fills me with pride. And then there is Lucas...this man makes me swoon, weep with happy emotional tears, makes my heart pound in my chest. This man is everything you could ever want in your lead hero. Emily Goodwin has created my favorite male lead ever!! His protectiveness and loyalty is unfaltering.
As this story continues, grows and develops, I fall even more in love with it. This story never fails to allow me to escape somewhere else while stuck in the pages of the story. Completely immersed in this world that has brought such happiness and joy...and sometimes a slight heart attack hahaha. But I wouldn’t have if any other way.
This paranormal romance series continues to deliver with all the drama, suspense and unexpected twists. Callie never knew how intense her world could get. She is driven to fight demons and protect people so being pregnant has caused her to shift this focus. It is hard for her to not always jump in but she has another person to consider. I love this part of her, she is so strong and caring. There is still so much she doesn’t know about who she is based on her mother and father. Her uncle Lucifer is a full of surprises as he helps her several times but is this out of love for his niece or does he have a hidden agenda. Add in demons that want to use her to fulfill a prophecy and wow, you never know what to expect next. But the real beauty is the relationship she has with Lucas and the one she is building with her sister Abby. Even when it seems everything is falling apart, she finds time for those small moments, playing with her niece, passing out candy to trick-or-treaters, hosting Thanksgiving dinner. I am captivated by this journey and need to know all of Callie’s secrets. Excited for more after that incredible ending!
Once again this book was a mess of spelling and grammatical errors. I did not like this book as well as the others. It was very repetitive in how much Callie loves Lucas, being sick and hormonal, how she doesn’t want try cry, etc. I just got very annoyed. The author also kept explaining things that at this point, if the reader doesn’t know, then there is something wrong. Such as her frustration with her father, her hate for the Martin family, just little things like that. I felt she was re-telling the same old content over and over and over again, which pulled away from the story, and to me, pulled away from the series. The fight with Bael was very under climatic. The author spent this whole time building up to this encounter with Bael, only to have it end in a few short paragraphs. The fights with Varrador and Ruth were done well, but this “big baddie” from the underworld gets crapped on? I didn’t understand the premise behind that at all. I am hoping the next book is a little more interesting, and a little less regurgitated content.

I wanted to love this book, I really did. But I feel like the author has started to struggle to figure out what to do with the down-time between major plot events. Everything is becoming really repetitive and boring, and I hate that because I've enjoyed this series so far. There is a lot that I can criticize this series for, but at the end of the day I've really enjoyed it. Is the main relationship ridiculous and unrealistic? Of course, they never seem to have any conflict or arguments that last longer than a sentence. But I still enjoy the series.
I'm still planning to continue because I've made it this far, but I hope that the writing returns to like it was with the first few books, where things actually happened throughout the whole book and it wasn't so damn repetitive.
I gave this book three stars and marked it as read, but I’m not done reading it. I prefer my paranormal romance/urban fantasy sans kids. Once the protagonist gets pregnant, I lose all interest. Truth be told, I’ll finish it but very slowly since I no longer care what happens, but the Virgo in me is a completionist. The three stars are because it’s well-written, besides being somewhat repetitive, and a lot of books in this genre from BookBub are poorly written with loads of errors and bad, predictable plots. If you don’t mind the main character getting pregnant five books in, then give this series a try.
But when we just have constant, oh she's so hot, oh he's so hot.. repeat, repeat, repeat.... with a dash of poor word usage, grammatical, spelling, and punctuation... it's a killer, and not in a good way. I wanted to stop reading this every other page.
Luckily, as archangels were showing up, finally answering questions, and relationships being formed and tons of character building, god.. it just took so long.
Don't get me wrong, like I said, when it's good, it's good... but that lull every other page was starting to kill me.

My mind is blown! 🤯 Callie continues to somehow get herself out of the worst situations, and she does it with hilarious inner commentary. Shit is hitting the fan, both the angels and demons are after her and won't stop until she's theirs. One wants her to be queen, the other wants her dead. This series is my absolute favorite series and I get so excited when a new book releases. I don't even bother reading the blurbs amymore because I know automatically it'll be kickass!
I totally love this series EXCEPT, every book ends as a cliffhanger which I don't like. There's always several months between books and by the time the next book comes out, I've already read another 50+ books and forgotten what the last one was about. I think this is the last book for me. When I finish a book, I like that story to be done. Truly it's frustrating to have to go back to the previous book and reread several chapters so you understand what is going on. Great characters and great storyline but for the cliffhangers.
This series is so dang good. I was/ am completely sucked in and can’t wait for more. The story line is addictive and the characters all of them add so much to the storyline. There are parts that seem to repeat a few times and honestly the drama is never ending . it’s intense and pretty dang crazy. While there are several errors in this series that normally would drive me bonkers they where easy to overlook and in all honesty this is one of those series that can go on and on it’s that well written. I can not wait for the next book
I wrote a 5 star review because it true !! I am going to be honest I never knew who Emily was until I read this series and let me tell ya it is worth your time and money 😉 . I love her books because not only does she leave TBE best cliffhangers that encourage your self to get the next book she's making the reader understand her precise choices of words when in the process of writing her books !! And I'm 15 so if I can love her books hopefully you will too!!☺
I cannot get enough if this series. Callie and Lucas along with the whole gang are written so well you’re immersed in the story and along for the ride.
The action is amazing and presented in such a detailed manner that the movie truly unfolds in your mind.
I can’t wait for the next book and to continue the ride.
Another cliffhanger. This series is very addicting and I can't wait for the next book. The drama was great and the romance was great. I would recommend this series to my friends and family especially to my sister-in-law. Another good story Emily. Make the next book just as good as the others.
I absolutely loved this book. It had a good steady pace of excitement. It wasnt as fast of a read as some of her other but it was still AMAZING !! Cal has made SOME MAJOR decisions that will change her whole entire path!! I CAN'T wait to see how this series ends!!
Callie is going to be the bad a**est half witch half Nephilim all mommy ever!! Between her and Lucas and of course Auntie Eliza and everyone else that vows to keep this crotch demon safe...... She is going to be an even bad a**er version of her mommy!! Bring on book 7!!!!
Just when you think the last book was the best, this one is even more on the edge of your seat! Never could I already know what was gonna happen next. Wanna get lost in a book, be thrilled by what's next, or just be in a different world? This book is all of the above! Can't wait for the next one!
My gosh so many laughs and some tears as well. Such badass characters and phenomenal writing I’m just so impressed. I can’t wait to start Book #7. Imagine if our world was like this. Heck we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves. Callie and Lucas and all are amazing. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
This book series keeps you on your toes. Full of love, family, laughter, and so much more. You cannot find a book that keeps you soo absorb and wanting to know what is going to happen next. I love this series!!!
Wow Emily did it again with this book. It was less chaos and more of a filler but still very much needed to read and it ends with a cliffhanger.. I don't even know where to begin with what I have to say about it. I suggest to just read it.
Emily introduced me to the paranormal world in books. I haven't regretted it and have loved this series so much. The characters and her writing sucks you in and gives you all the feels!
The annoying typos are getting worse so you need a new proof reader ASAP. The constant port is getting annoying and in the way of what could be a better story. I still enjoyed it tho
She did it again! This series needs to never end. Amazing storyline, can’t get enough. Callie, Lucas, Eliza, Julian, Michael, Lucifer..... I recommend this book and series to everyone.
I can not WAIT till the next book comes out! I’m dying in anticipation for what happens next!! If you’ve not started this series yet, do so ASAP!! You’ll fall in love with the characters.
Can we have more content related to furthering the plots/characters rather sex encounters making up the content with a 1600 year old vampire acting like a hormone driven teenager.
I like the plot and want to keep reading to know how the series ends. There is too much repetitiveness when referencing previous events or reintroducing characters multiple times in the book that is unnecessary.
Awesome book and story. A 100%page turner. I love the story between callie and Lucas alot, but I really do hope that Emily Goodwin is not planning on making this an endless book - book with no final ending.
An easy read as noted Fun and Fantasy. A pleasant read makes me want to read the next in just to find out what happens and what about the baby. Too m as my loose ends to tie together. Next one for sure.
