Rate this book
One little bunny learns the power of books, facts, and libraries on her quest to make her perfect sandwich.

When Bunny's sandwich-making plans are disrupted by a lack of jelly, she knows what to do--she'll make her own! After asking her brother, neighbor, father, and grandmother how to make jelly, though, and getting absolutely no right answers, Bunny starts to despair! Will she ever get to make her perfect sandwich? It's only when Bunny learns to look for information in just the right place--the library--that she finds the answers she's been looking for.

Bunny discovers they are out of grape jelly. This is a crisis of unknown level. She sets out to find someone who can teach her how to make grape jelly as peanut butter without it is unacceptable. Readers follow her thought process as she seeks information from a variety of people before ending up at the library. The librarian shows her where to find this information and by the end of the book, she has made more jelly.
Great to have readers make predictions as each suggestion is made. Readers will enjoy the humor as they watch some of the options - sprinkle glitter over grapes and say the magic spell; run over them with a bike to squish them, etc.

Bunny is out of grape jam and is determined to figure out how to make some. After asking her brother, Kitty (the best student in her class), her dad, and her grandpa, she ends up biking to the library, where a kind librarian helps her find the cookbooks....and the perfect recipe. The book includes a grape jelly recipe in the back.

Overall, a fun book that would be good for school aged kids.

Bunny is half way through making a peanut butter sandwich when she realizes there is no grape jelly in the house. Uh-oh, what's a bunny supposed to do? Well, this bunny decides to make her own so she asks her nearest and dearest for help. This is a gently humorous book that really should be called The Librarian Figures It Out. This will be a handy picture book to use when reminding young readers about the resources in the library.

This is such a cute book showing how persistence can pay off when bunny tries all kinds of ways to figure out how to make grape jelly, ultimately needing to use the library this makes for a perfect story time book to show kids how useful and helpful librarians can be. As I read this in my last week of work at the library I'm finding myself thinking of all the "Bunny"s I've hopefully helped in the past.

Bunny would love to have some grape jelly for her sandwich, but there isn't any in the house. So she decides to make her own, she just doesn't know how. Brother Jack is no help and neither is Kitty, the best student in school. Her recipe includes glitter. Mom, Dad and even Grandma's advice doesn't work. So on the way home, she stops by the library.

When Bunny tries to make herself an PB&J and discovers her family is out of grape jelly, she sets out to make her own. She asks everyone she can think of and the answers are not always helpful. Eventually, she figures it out with help from a librarian and a book! Does it get any better than that? Nope!

A great group or individual read aloud!

A picture book for inquisitive young minds. Readers follow bunny through the process of figuring out how to make grape jelly. Bunny goes around asking questions to people they trust and the book lays out who are good people to when you have a question. A great introduction to information seeking.

2 1/2 stars. Not sure whether to round up or down. It was ok. It was too long for the target age group, though.
A cute story about a bunny trying to find out how to make jelly (that's 'jam' for non-US people) and eventually goes to the library and checks out a cookbook.

I usually support library propaganda books since I love the library, but this one was dumb. If she's allowed to walk to her friend's house, the senior center, and the library by herself, why can't she walk to the grocery store and just buy more grape jelly???

Ok, but first, she could have just went to the store because she went all over town anyway. And second, wouldn't she have to go to the store for ingredients anyway? 🤔💜

Very cute and engaging book about how a kid can work with their family, community and library to answer a question and solve a problem they have. My kids loved it, wish there were more bunny books to make this a series!
