And I would have gotten away with it if not for you meddling kids.
Like before sometimes the art looks nice and other times it gets a little ugly depending on the moment but at least we get to see the conclusion of the major case started in the first volume as Jack discovers the secrets behind the lost dragon egg and finds herself knee-deep in blatantly villainous villainy fit for a Saturday morning cartoon.
That said this is not a bad story with an easy to read plot with plenty of action that is easy enough that any teen or older individual into magic, action, detective work, and stories about family and belonging may find themselves enjoying it. In fact not to be a spoiler but this book shows Jack gets a little something special that may change the family dynamic of her little group forever. We'll just have to see what the future holds for the agency. :)

A seriously fun second volume. I can't wait to continue on with Jack and the adventures in New York!

I feel like the action gets really "bunch of flashy magic bits" which feels a little anticlimactic to be. I'm sure it's a personal problem with me though. The characters are fun as heck so I'm here for it all.

I like that the case with the dragon egg ended on a positive note, since for a few moments I got really worried there. However, my concern from the previous/first volume remains; everything seemed too busy and it was a bit difficult to figure out where to focus on panel to panel.
The only thing keeping me interested in this spin-off series, is the brief involvement of beloved characters along with the overall curiosity of seeing what else can happen to Jack and Larry.

2.5
I'm not sure what happened here but the art in this volume took a nose dive. Where there were a few action scenes in volume 1 that could be confusing, a good chunk of the art here is indecipherable or unfinished. Entire pages look like they weren't inked; swooshes and swirls and sound fx make it impossible to figure out what's happening in pivotal action scenes. While I'm still interested in the characters and the world, the wrap up to the mystery started in last volume was underwhelming and relied on coincidences and plot holes.

Having just read the first volume this morning I was very eager to read this one. I enjoyed it more than the first one to be honest, I loved how the book ended and how the mystery resolved itself. Once again the drawings are absolutely beautiful and I loved the new character that has joined the series. 4.4 /5
When is Volume 3 coming out?!?

Finishes a story from the short story collection but adds a few touches I didn't remember and thext mystery has promise so I hope there's follow through. The art style is interesting but all the dark can make it hard to tell what is going on in some panels.

I really like this series. I like the combination of old-school detective movie with faeries, dragons, and magic. I really like Jack's character, too: how she balances being a badass with actually caring for people. I'm looking forward to the next volume.

Jack Flash solves the missing dragon egg case. She then moves on to find a missing magical kitty with a mysterious owner.

I think it’s okaaaaaay? The art is very pretty, but sometimes too swirly to see what’s happening.

So awesome. A beautiful fantasy tale with darkness, too.
