However, none of the aliens have picked me as a breeder. Talk about a self-esteem boost. Sure I was horrified like everyone else when we arrived, but after being here without any chance of returning home I've decided to adapt. Now I just need to find a male who's interested in having a family.
Then I end up on babysitting duty, except this is no child. Actually, Kolton's one of the most powerful people on the planet, but he's in a bad way and needs help. When I'm offered a ride back to Earth in exchange for taking on this patient I readily accept.
The only problem? I have now become Kolton's newest obsession and he's not willing to let me go.
Miranda Bridges began sneaking romance novels as a teenager and did not confess to reading them until she became a legal adult. After years and years as a voracious reader she woke up one day with a story in mind. She decided to write it down in order to silence her imaginary friends, but they’ve grown in number and have gotten louder. When she is not reading, writing, or drinking coffee she is taking care of two princesses who are of a reading age. Needless to say Miranda is still hiding romance books around the house, but now some of them have her name on the cover.
You have no idea how much I crave you, how much I’ve been thinking about you.
Natalie (a nursing student) and Kolton (a newly ex junkie) worked very well together. I was scared he was going to relapse and was substituting one addiction for another. He went from drugs to sex. I mean, he totally substituted sex for drugs. Just saying. Whatever the case may be, it worked out and man was there so much political drama. I’m glad it was finally solved but again it’s too perfect. I can’t explain it.
Still, this series is worth reading and free on kindle unlimited. I’m trying to finish the series today. Cross your fingers for me. I k is it’s silly but that’ll mean my fist reading month will go out with a bang. These crazy aliens are entertaining af. Not the most original and kind of predictable but so much fun.
This one was pretty good but maybe not so much if you’re reading it as a standalone or out of order because a large chunk of the plot is dedicated to the ongoing subplot of the “purists” trying to usurp the House of Kaimar.
Kolton is the junkie brother council member of the last H (Kade). Natalie has been tasked with babysitting him while he gets clean (she’s a nurse). I thought their relationship was alright, but it kind of felt like he just swapped sex for drugs. I did like that he (unlike the other H’s) had to grovel a bit and work for forgiveness.
I loved the final battle and learning who the villains were. (although I don’t know how these evil OW keep escaping from jail) That part of the plot was what kept me reading the series, so I was happy to have it resolved.
Bottom Line- This series is fun if you’re looking for easy, shorter, alien smut. They all fit the same formula. I like that each book had some sort of wannabe OW drama with an uninterested H and action. I also liked that the h’s (I did skip book 1) were open to mating with their soulmate because I get impatient with the prolonged pushing away.
This is the best book yet to come out of this series, IMO. Steamy, suspenseful, gory, and loaded with complex characters. The last two were meh, but this one packed a punch 💪
I liked this book more then the first two because he actually has to grovel and suffer for the things he did. Unlike in the first where they just sleep with the FMC even after they say no (so rape them) and all is well. But I found the ending seriously lacking. Why isn’t she more upset that they kept her pregnancy hidden? The doctor knew and her mate knew but they don’t tell her for several days? And they don’t even explain why they don’t tell her. I would be royally pissed and he would have to grovel all over again. I wish they would have a heart to heart conversation and agreed to work things out or something like that. I had high hopes. But in the end they again just sleep together and then get their happily ever after. Why? Why do they not talk about their relationship? Ugh

A wonderful, fun and steamy read; loved Kolton and Natalie! This series just keeps getting better, read it and the Heart and Stones series in a week, can't wait for the next one!
AS GOOD AS ANY TYPICAL SCI-FI ALIEN ROMANCE WHEN YOU'RE IN THE MOOD BUT SHORT ON TIME. This wasn't rocket science, people. Male meets female and BOOM you get chemistry. I'm just glad this wasn't 100% insta-love or I would have just dropped it. Let's just say, there were moments where I could appreciate the stereotypical angst that makes other readers go 🙄.
KOLTON is a victim of feminine manipulation and jealousy that made him believe he had a mate who didn't want him. Said mate committed suicide because she was infertile, and we all know how the whole if 1 mate dies, then the other either follows or goes crazy. Kolton's feeling the effects of the latter, which explains why he turned to 'elixir' - alien form of drugs. Needless to say, he's suffering from withdrawal and ends up threatening our heroine for some dope, only to have her inject him with sedatives and voila, he's now a 'captive'. As Kolton battles his personal demons, he also falls for Natalie. It's the whole instant attraction thing. Usually I'd be put off but I guess it works here, or I'm just being very nice today. When it comes to light that Kolton might be in league with the baddies of the story, I could foresee what would happen coming a mile away. Would you like to take a guess? Male lead falls for heroine, and the baddies on his side tries to threaten her. What do you think he'll do?
NATALIE works in the healthcare line as a nurse after she was abducted by aliens. Watching everyone around her get their own taste of happiness, she too wants a baby and the father that comes along with it. I don't know why she had problems finding a mate when it's mentioned she's NOT ugly or have a shitty attitude. In fact, I thought she's self-reliant, responsible and loyal. Anyways, when Kolton steps into her life, it's for good and she tries to help him overcome withdrawal while succumbing to their passionate attraction.
OVERALL this was as basic as any alien romance sci-fi could get. The world building happens gradually with each book you pick up. It's not like those detailed novels with very in-depth setting or characters. This was more of a quickie pleasure for those living the fast lane, and you're looking to set your mind free for even a few hours.
This book was written from a single perspective, which was that of the human female’s, and not back-and-forth between the male and female. I found this format to be a breath of fresh air from the usual books with dual perspectives. Written in first person by Miranda Bridges, The Legislators Lover is book 4 in The House of Kaimar series, and follows the Dravian alien Councilor Kolton and his human mate Natalie.
Natalie was studying to become a nurse at the Hays University in Missouri, where all the human women were abducted from. The Dravians abducted the women with the goal of impregnating them to repopulate their dwindling species. Those plans quickly went to shit when the involuntary “breeders” wound up establishing mate bonds with the Dravians, though every female still wound up pregnant. Natalie’s father had a long-suffering battle with cancer that led to his untimely death and that’s what prompted her to become a nurse. Those skills placed her in the Najarie clinic as Dr. Braxton’s assistant. She accepted her new fate among the aliens, becoming envious of the other women’s mates and pregnancies.
Kolton was a councilman that represented the house of Kaimar. He developed an addiction to drugs after he lost his mate Azarina, who committed suicide after discovering that she was infertile. Kolton met Natalie while breaking into the clinic in search of a drug that would curb his addiction. She wound up injecting him with a sedative before seeking the help of his brother Kade (from book 3, who almost married a purist because of Kolton’s addiction). Kade convinced Natalie to help get Kolton through withdrawals by tying him to a bed and holding him hostage for three days. In that time, Kolton discovered that Natalie was his mate, all while the two established feelings for each other.
Dravians resemble elves in human folklore, with long white hair and pointed elf like ears. There are 5 houses of Najarie. The house of Kaimar is the oldest of the five, and their line tends to give birth to people who possess the gift of telekinetic abilities. The largest house is Mankoi because they possess the most Dravian females. The other houses are Tari, Fael, and Silae. Each one has played a significant role in Najarie history, and is why they are the only houses recognized. Novar is their spoken language, which can be learned by a simple retinal scan, though most Dravians speak English so it’s not necessary. Kolton is from the house of Kaimar, represented by the braids in his hair, and he is one of the few who possess the gift of telekinesis. Over the years, the Dravians have quashed mating bonds through breeding to keep their species from experiencing feelings, which were viewed as a weakness.
Natalie was Kolton’s one true mate, verified by his eyes changing obsidian whenever his mate was in danger, and by his newfound feelings of possessiveness, obsession and jealousy. This was a big deal because of the rarity of mating bonds within their species. Once a mating bond had formed, infidelity was impossible and the ONLY thing that mattered was their mate. The couple officially had sex in chapter 6, at the 32% mark. I read this genre of books specifically for the raunch. Delaying sexual intercorse anytime after the 48% mark is like dangling the cheese so long it molds. I’m glad the author didn’t wait too long to get to the juicy bits, and rather preferred them getting down and dirty quickly. So far, each book rewards the reader with 3 different acts of sexual intercourse, making this series one of my many favorites. A Dravian’s kiss is like an aphrodisiac, making the woman’s body tingle and heat up from the point of contact to her clit. *sigh* What we wouldn’t give for that to be a thing. Am-I-right ladies? 🤪
Samira, the head of the house of Fael and the only female on the council, winds up being the chancellor and leader of the purists. This book focused mainly on finding and eradicating the purists, with a few twists and turns along the way. And A LOT of DRAMA. Kolton played the role of a double agent, pretending to be loyal to Samira (who had been in love with him for years, when she was first placed into the harem of Zaden’s father). Kolton discovered that Samira was responsible for him falsely adopting a bond for his mate Azarina, who never loved him back. Turned out that Samira created that experiment to replicated the mate bond so he wouldn’t establish a real bond with a mate who wasn’t her. So when his fake mate died and he turned to the elixir for comfort, Samira was essentially responsible for his drug habit. Both Lia and Morgan had their babies; Lia at the beginning and Morgan towards the end, while hiding from an attack. King Zade almost got assassinated, but his faithful followers came through in the end. After the death of the council members Tinoz, Samira, and Vion, the head of the house of Silae (all traitors), Zaden disbanded the council completely and instated a board of advisers, giving seats to Varek, Quin, Braxton, Kade, and Kolton. There was A LOT going on in this book, and I’m sure I missed a few key details. 😎 Staying true to the theme, Eleanor became pregnant quickly with twin boys, even with a lowered level of fertility.
Thankfully, this book took a break from the abusive back stories and even laid off the dom/sub roles, though there was a little bit of sexual restraints being used. Ironically, the absence of abusive pasts was a perfect platform for a comfortable sub/dom relationship, but the author didn’t take advantage of the healthy opportunity.
Overall, this series is worth the read if this genre of books is in your wheelhouse. It had the perfect balance of adventure and romance. I am looking forward to the next (and possibly final?) book in the series. 😇🫶🏻 I really hope that Miranda made an offshoot with the Masse of the Boraq of Sulrim because now I want to follow his story with his human mate.

Once again, "The House of Kaimar" series has not only captured but, captivated the reader with its newest addition "The Legislator's Lover," Best friends, Morgan and Lia continue to entertain us with their frank banter and quick wit as they acclimatize themselves with their new roles all the while keeping their beloved mates on their toes; as well as keeping us updated with what those scheming Purists are up too. Natalie, who is also an abductee, has solidified her position as a human head nurse, not only being the "caretaker" for the two pregnant "besties" Morgan and Lia but their close friend and confidant as well. It's Natalie's dedication to her job that leaves her vulnerable to attempted theft, of the addictive drug Elixer, by Kolton, who uses the drug to dull his pain. With Kolton being a crucial legislator in the Kaimar's fight against the Purists and human citizenship, Natalie is asked to assist Kolton through an intensive detox secretly, in an attempt to get rid of the Elixer drugs' hold on his body and mind. It is during the worst phase of the detox that Kolton begins hallucinating that Natalie is his deceased ex-mate, and he starts attempting to seduce her. As Natalie is trying to calm Kolton's sexual overtures, an unknown male enters his room and, because Kolton's addiction and detox need to be kept secret Natalie does the first thing that pops in her head - she starts making out with Kolton, to draw away any suspicion as to why she is there. But, as we have learned from previous couplings, these "men" have very addictive kisses that set off tiny vibrations throughout the body; hence their fake kiss quickly spirals out of control!! (Sign me up!) After recovering from his detox, Kolton returns to work but is distracted by his growing attraction and obsessive mating thoughts towards Natalie and decides to pursue her relentlessly. Nothing is ever what it seems inside "The House of Kaimar" nor without struggles for that matter, and with the Purists' hatred of the human growing in strength and the castle infiltrated with their spies, someone(s) is bound to get hurt! If you haven't yet, you should start this series with book one "The Commander's Captive" because all the characters continue to make quintessential appearances inside each other's stories. Besides, you are missing out on an incredible sci-fi adventure!

Babies were on Natalie's mind a lot lately she had no family to speak of her father battled cancer for two years before he'd final passed away. She'd been taken by complete surprised by someone seeking narcotics Natalie had been truthful about what she could actually get her hands on. Natalie was well aware there be no reasoning with an addict but with little choice she knocked him out. Kolton hadn't expected to wake up in restraints he could think of only one person who'd do something like this to him. His brother Kade most definitely would interfere. Natalie knew his unpleasant attitude would continue to escalate dramatically before the drugs had cleared his system. She just hoped than in the end he'd realize everything they did was to help him. Kade, owed her big time for her helping his brother and she had a few ideas maybe she'd return home. There really is no rhyme nor reason when it comes to attraction and Kolton wasn't going to waste anymore time. He needed to keep his wits about him there were many who believed that the humans had no place in their society and as a councilman he was in a position of power that some though they wielded and that's what he wanted them to think. Kolton thought he had something wonderful that he lost only now he really knows the truth he finally found what he's been looking for and he'll do anything to save her from the danger coming for everyone its not if they will but when.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Natalie was just as horrified and surprised to be among the women stolen from earth to mate with aliens who’s females had become infertile. But she’s chosen to adapt to her new life working as a nurse. But she wants a baby and a family, but none of the aliens have picked her. The last thing she wants to do is be assigned babysitting duty to Kolton, one of the most powerful people on the planet. Even if he does need her help. But when she’s given the opportunity to go back to earth in exchange for helping him? It can’t be so bad. Until sparks begin flying. Can the two’s budding love survive amongst the growing political chaos?
First things first. This is the fourth book in the series. Read the first three books in the series to give you a better background not only of the characters, but especially because of the political drama that happens throughout this book. That being said… This was another great one for the House of Kaimar. Natalie is sassy, strong and just so precious. She has a need to help people which can sometimes be her downfall. I feel that! Kolton is just looking for someone like her. Coming off an addiction, she fills a void in his life that he didn’t know was missing. Their banter is wonderful. Why not a full five chicks? Mostly just preference. There was a lot of drama and strife in this book between our hero and heroine. It did add for some build up, but I hated that our poor Natalie was heartbroken. But the series as a whole is a good read!
2 stars for the annoying heroine 3 stars for the exciting conclusion to the Purists insurrection plot thread. 4 stars for the long-suffering hero
This novella lacks the humor of the previous books, and the romantic relationship issues continue until the very last chapter. The h, Natalie, drove me nuts with her flimsy reasons for pushing the H away. This will be my last book in the series and by this author.
I skimmed through the two somewhat porny sex scenes. I didn't find them titillating at all, plus the sex scenes in the series are all basically the same.
Natalie, a nurse eager to have a baby, hasn't been chosen as a breeder even though the Dravian race is dying out. Despite a male claiming she's his mate and having unprotected sex, she still plans to leave for Earth to get pregnant. This makes no sense.
Natalie's Sad Story: Her mother died, and then her dad got cancer. She cared for him for two years. This pushed her to become a nurse, but she resented having lost her youth to caregiving and struggles with guilt. Helping others is how she copes.
Kolton is Kade’s brother (Kade is an MC in book 3) and a councilman for the house of Kaimar. He fell into drug addiction after his mate, who never loved him, committed suicide. Later, he learned their bond was artificially created. Natalie is his true mate.
The two meet at the clinic when Kolton tries to steal drugs. Natalie knocks him out with a sedative, then calls Kade for help. Kade asks her to stay with Kolton through detox, and in the two days she spends with him, an attraction starts to form.
Blurb Error: (Natalie) When I'm offered a ride back to Earth in exchange for taking on this patient I readily accept. What really happens:“I want you to send me back to my home planet. That is what I want in exchange for helping your brother.”
🚨 SPOILERS BELOW
😍 A summary of what Kolton says to Natalie: Kolton thinks Natalie see him as a broken, unstable male. But he’s really someone who needs a reason to live. Being with Natalie makes him feel alive, which he can't remember feeling before, maybe he never has. Touching and kissing her gives him a high that the elixir can't give him. He needs Natalie. Her touches erase his nightmare, heal his soul, and make him feel complete. It's not just sex, at least not for him.
Meanwhile, Natalie wants to leave: 23%: She thinks often of returning to Earth. 49%: Even knowing how much Kolton means to her, she still thinks about Earth. 82%: She may speak to Kade about leaving for Earth.
Kolton tries to convince Natalie his feelings are real, but she thinks he's using her as a distraction, and she's now his “fix” instead of the elixir.
At Morgan and Zaden’s wedding, the Purists' attack. Zaden is seriously injured, and they imprison those not on their side (like Natalie, Lia and Morgan).
Kolton is undercover, pretending to support the Purists to help King Zaden and his followers, along with the human women. When Natalie sees him with the Purists, she automatically assumes he's bad.
Kolton told Natalie earlier that he was trying to help his brother and allies by using his position on the council to gather intelligence on the Purists and relay it to Zaden, so she should've trusted him because he was open and honest with her.
🙄 Natalie's OTT Dramatic Response: Blackness creeps along the sides of my vision as I struggle for air. My breaths echo loudly in my years, and each beat of my heart sounds like a boom of thunder. I clutch my chest as wave after wave of pain wash over me, debilitating me. My eyes close as if to shield me from the torture of watching Kolton and Samira together. Then I sink to the cold stone floor, completely numb. My entire world has been shattered in a matter of minutes.
Samira tests Kolton's loyalty by telling him to kill Natalie. When he appears to be willing, Samira stops him. Natalie believes he would've killed her.
Eventually, the Purists are defeated, with most of them killed. Kolton tells Natalie he couldn’t confide in her bc she shows her thoughts clearly on her face, which would've put her life at risk. Though she knows he’s right, she still refuses to forgive him.
Natalie's Cruel Words/Thoughts: ▪️ “I hate you,” I whisper... ▪️ “I hate you,” I say again, glaring at him. “I know you don’t give a shit, but I wanted you to hear it again.” ▪️ “I hate you,” I whisper against his skin. ▪️ “I don’t trust you,” I say. ▪️ “Right now I don’t want you to say a word. Right now I only want you to hold me and soothe me because after this, I have no intention of ever speaking to you again.” ▪️ Right before I surrender to exhaustion, I can’t help but wonder how I’ll ever get rid of my love for him.
▪️ He takes a deep breath and leans down, resting his forehead against mine. “I did the right thing, and yet I’m suffering for it. I don’t regret my actions, namori. You are alive because of them, but me? I’m slowly dying without you.” ▪️ “Please leave me alone,” I whisper.
Natalie’s defiance despite her feelings for Kolton made her unlikable. She wouldn't forgive him even after he protected her, and shows how much he cares for her.
In the last chapter, she discovers she's pregnant: ▪️ “Everything is fine,” he says softly. ▪️ “Everything is not fine. How am I supposed to return to Earth with an alien baby inside me?” I cover my face with my hands, shaking my head. “This was not part of the plan. I was supposed to leave this all behind. I have to get away.”
Kolton refuses to let her go, and Natalie FINALLY realizes how selfish she's being. I-love-yous are exchanged. Sex happens.
The Epilogue: The MCs learn they're having twin boys.
🔸Lia and Varek name their baby girl "Varia." 🔸Morgan and Zaden have a baby boy.
Who Led the Purists and Why: Samira, known as "the chancellor" to the Purists, aimed to remove King Zaden to prevent humans from tainting their bloodlines. She despised the house of Kaimar because she was forced into Zaden's father’s harem. Even though she was the first woman to represent her family on the council, she also envied human women, fueling her desire to eliminate them.
Although it could be read as a standalone book, I think it's better to read the previous books to better understand the whole alien politics and general situation within the universe of this story. The book was quite packed with lots of "serious" stuff and it seemed that the romance itself was a side dish within the main course. What's the main course you say?! It's the politics, intrigue, conflict and conspiracies; It was thick and the main plotline. Not that it was bad, it was, as a matter a fact, interesting and intriguing, if you are into that sort of things. It was thrilling and page-turning for me. It kept the story interesting, but somehow at some point, I just care much on the intrigue instead of the romance between the MCs. Stripping the alien stuff, and you got yourself romantic-suspense with the thrilling plot on the politic of the far-far-away kingdom complete with its senate and power struggle. It may be a bit heavy for instalove lovers.
No virgin No contraception mentioned
Human h, Alien H Mating plot Overall score: 4.5 intriguing alien romance stars
The Delight Why am I here? After the last three books, I decided I can't quit now. Nope, I have to figure this out.
Review Natalie's biggest wish is to return home. A nursing student, she spends her time working with Braxton, the healer, in the clinic wondering why no one chose her. All she wants is love, but she also feels ashamed of being a sinner. Raised but a father who thinks she is tempting him, she is used to a farm and abuse. She doesn't miss that, but she can't seem to fit in on this new planet.
Kolton is Kade's brother from the last book. Kolton is addicted to a drug that is the only way to forget that his mate has died. He doesn't want off it, but he is also on the council and if they find out, he's off it. Kade in a desperate attempt to save his brother isolates him and sets up Natalie to detox him. And that is it. Kolton now wants Natalie, but all she will allow him is one night. Lover's is all they can be. With saving Kolton, Kade is giving her one wish and that wish is to go back to Earth.
Political intrigue ensues and plans change. The BDSM isn't quite as strong in this one, but it is definitely there with assurances of one night only. Betrayal and a coup lead to these two being on opposite sides of the issue. It all works out with the magical penis and a pregnancy, oh my. But wait, there is one more story in the series.

Intrigue, spies, with lots of twists n turns - all in an alien PNR!!
Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as abduction, fighting with some to the death, betrayal, torture, etc.
This is the 4th story in the series and I highly recommend it be read in series order as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc. There will be a tremendous amount of the background missing if read as a stand-alone.
This series has just gotten better. I love it when I find an author that I am not that familiar and can immerse myself into their series, and I especially love it when they are as well written as this one!
This story has been my favorite of the series so far. It is an emotional roller coaster, especially for Eleanor, who finds her life’s work in helping others. Her compassion is a refreshing change, but it also opens her up to more hurt.
In my humble opinion, the only thing that could have made this story better is if there were at least a couple of scenes from Koldar’s perspective.
Natalie is a human nursing student the Dravians kidnapped from earth, and that has yet to be chosen by one of them as a “breeder”. Kolton is a member of the Dravian council, who became addicted to a drug after a devastating loss. When Natalie agrees to help Kolton, as a favour for his brother, she never expects to fall for Kolton, or to end up being dragged into a situation where her very life is at risk!
This book is the fourth book in the series, and features the brother of the hero from book three. It’s a standalone as far as the romance is concerned, but the book is part of an overarching background story, and is best read as part of the series. The hero is a troubled male, who meets the heroine in rather less than auspicious circumstances. The heroine is a woman with her own sad story, but who continually perseveres in the face of great upheaval.
A quick, enjoyable read, and an explosive background situation, make this an entertaining afternoon’s pleasure! Recommended for alien sci fi romance lovers.
So I’ve binged four of the books in this series over the last two days. So I feel as if it’s safe to say that Natalie has been my favorite of everyone. Not a huge fan of Kolton, but that doesn’t really matter. I also enjoyed this book because it had more action than any of the others. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen with all of the political upheaval.
One thing I am also very happy about is that the author has taken pains to make sure that all of the intimate movements are different. I mean there are some things that are the same, but she doesn’t repeat entire scenes from book to book and given that I’ve read these so close to one another, I would be able to tell.
Just a reminder that these are alien breeder romances. They are not meant to be realistic and any of your expectations along that front need to be left at the door. I’m finding them rather entertaining and an interesting departure from my regular book choices.
Not my favorite. Was really liking it until the “wedding”. How Kolton was with her, and making her go through twice where she thought he was going to kill her, and then the “relationship” with Samira, was awful. I get why he did it, what brought this down to a 3 for me was the conversation afterwards or lack there of. I don’t feel like he expressed to her just how much it hurt him to put her through that. I think this explanation needed a lot more. I think he needed to show a ton more emotion on this. I also feel like there wasn’t really an explanation of what was true with Samira and what wasn’t. This was never explained. Did he actually have a relationship with her during the same time he was having sex with Natalie? If so, that would be even harder to get past. Or was it all an illusion, something he kept telling her, making her believe they could be together one day. It just wasn’t clear. I feel like the last 1/2 of the book needed more. More in the details.

Sometimes when you settle, you get the golden ring! Natalie, nurse was melancholy because many of her friends were having babies. Most of them have been chosen and were fulfilling their purposes as breeders. Some were still in denial over their circumstances. Natalie was sad because no one has chosen her and she craves a baby. Then, she met Kolton who kidnapped her for drugs. There are many political conflicts which seem to escalate. The Purists, don't like the involvement of humans. Kolton, sitting on the council walks a fine political line. Good strong characters, exciting flow. Will Gen Varek be able to get his point of view expanded and implemented? Will the Purists prevail? Will Natalie find someone to choose her and give her a baby? Good action. Good intrigue. Will the Houses find order? Nicely done. It was such good book, Epic, intense, intriguing, full of surprises!!!! It had my head spinning & my eyes focused on every next word i was reading because to me all that was happening was so intense... I couldn't stop reading it! Loved it. The only thing that it bothers me is that descriptions all of the females are not clear, the aliens on the other hand are very specific describe but not the women. From book 1; all I got from Leah has brown hair that's about it. From book 2; I got that Morgan has redheaded and I think and 5.6??? From book 3; she is blonde position did I just read she is 5 11 with a pretty body I suppose and strawberry blond hair but would like little more specific detail about them. But all in all the books are Epic!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
All hail Kolton! I've loved all the other books in the series, but this book right here gave me All the feels. I actually shed a tear in this one and I'm not a crier. I felt Natalie's pain, to my core I felt her heartbreak and the crushing of her soul. One thing after another, each event chipped away at her, but she always held her chin high, even in moments when most would crumble. Kolton, struggling with addiction, past heartbreak, his own betrayal, self loathing, wrapped in a hotter than sin package, is now one of my favorites. Combine the pain, love, lust, trepidation, bloodshed, banter, with some of the hottest spicy scenes I have read, and you've got yourself this gem. And when I say hot, I mean grab extra panties. HOT! I seriously need to be abducted by an alien (not one of the lizard ones though...yuck).
Late one night when Natalie is caught off guard by an addict demanding drugs she helps keep the fact quiet. After trying to score his next high Kolton wakes to find himself tied to a bed being watched over by the human nurse Natalie. When he has been detoxed and let go he can not forget about her and makes excuses to get close. Natalie knows better than to get involved with Kolton but he seems to keep drawing her in. When the purists attack and Kolton seems to be on their side she is heart broken. This is part of a series of books and though it and does not leave you with a cliff hanger, it can be read as a standalone. This was my favorite book in the series so far. The overarching storyline that has been in every book so far was a huge element in this book. There were so many characters from previous book, and I always love when authors do that. And finally, the relationship between Kolton and Natalie was everything!
I could absolutely feel every emotion that ran through both of our main characters; Natalie hasn’t been mated yet, but she wants a baby, a home, a true love; Kolton is in a lot of emotional pain from losing his mate, but has such strong feeling and impulses where Natalie is concerned. There were occasions where I laughed, I cried and was so anxious about what was going to happen on the next page. I couldn’t put this one down.
I absolutely love this series by Miranda Bridges! I love the character development that takes place within the story. Now, don't get me wrong there were times during this book that I absolutely wanted to punch Kolton in the face but he ultimately redeemed himself. I personally would have made him grovel a little more for my forgiveness but I am petty like that. I connected with Natalie on the level where I can relate to enjoy the feeling of being needed. I however am not in the medical field. I enjoyed watching her put him in his place a few times. I would give the spice level a 3/5. It will definitely light a fire in you but not a blazing inferno. I cannot stress this enough that this series is definitely a must read.
This book 4 in The House of Kaimar Series was an very well-written book that I really enjoyed that has realistically crafted characters. The story and characters hooked me from the beginning and I could not stop reading until late at night. I loved the characters while watching them grow together and they went well together. I found this book fascinating with great word building which made me feel apart of the story as it unfolded in front of me. A must read for any fan of Alien Romances and this was a great conclusion to the series

The Legislator’s Lover: The House of Kaimar Book 4 By Miranda Bridges Kindle unlimited purchase What a book! Natalie wants a baby. However, none of the aliens have picked her as a breeder. Talk about a self-esteem boost. Sure she was horrified like everyone else when they arrived. but after being here without any chance of returning home she decided to adapt. Braxton is having a terrible time of it lately. He is addicted to the elixir. When he comes to the clinic and makes Natalie break into the medication so he can get a fix he is at his lowest point. But Natalie has something up her sleeve. This a great book. Poor Natalie is but through a lot. But she is a strong woman and she takes it in stride. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Our poor doctor has his book next. The House of Kaimar The Commander’s Captive The Monarch’s Mate The Bodyguard’s Breeder The Legislator’s Lover The Healer’s Hellion
Weirdly the beginning of the book felt off. I cant really pin point what it was but it didnt read right for me. It was in the dialog descriptors (is that even what they'recalled). Idk. Kept throwing me off for a couple chapters but then either I righted my ship or the author did. Doesnt matter. The book is good. Bed posts are a must.... just sayin. This one also had a bit more vulnerability. Which draws me in like a taco Tuesday.
as the prior books. I didn’t have the same fondness of the main characters as I did for the prior books. If it wasn’t for the appearance of other characters I probably would have stopped reading or at least completely skimmed ( did do some skimming ) to the finish. The humor and levity wasn’t as prevalent in this book either. I just sorta battled through it. However, looking forward to Braxton’s story.
