Through his grassroots campaign of the Undercover Millennial, he has amassed information that has helped his structure practical steps outlined in these chapters. His findings are addressed as twelve individual elements to a whole.

Clint Pulver wanted to be a pilot. He got his pilot license while in high School. He then got a degenerative eye disease that made him almost blind. He is also a drummer. He is a motivational speaker.
His personal profile is impressive. The book is not.
Filled with obvious and cliched thoughts. In summary be an empathetic leader.
▶ A book that changed my perception of what leadership actually means.
#INSIGHT: "I Love It Here" is all about the principles of such leadership which enables an organisation to flourish keeping in mind the priorities and needs of its employees. The Author, Clint Pulver while running an undercover millennial program for organisations came across a lot of insight about how to minimise employee turnover and create an atmosphere which they love.
#REVIEW: Human resources are the most important for an organisation, however small it is, but at the same time are the most neglected. Pointing these things out in his book, the Author has explained how to keep your employees happy. The most amazing parts were the 'Mastering Your Moments' exercises. The writing style is very engaging and I loved the reading experience. And most importantly, there is a lot to take away from the book.
#BESTQUOTE: If your people can’t grow where they are, they will leave and grow somewhere else.
#STRENGTH: 1. The use of real life incidents makes it all the more relatable and 2. The title of the book in itself is very strong and gives you an idea about the basis of the book 3. The detailed explanation of every concept of the book 4. The data and statistics shared about the employees.
#WEAKNESS: I couldn't find anything to be put as a weakness in particular. The book is just amazing.
#TARGET READERS: The book targets employers, leaders and professionals who are leaders of their organisations.
Who should (or when to) read this: If you are trying to create a better work culture, decrease turnover and have your employees more engaged and productive.
Nick’s Major takeaway(s): The workforce is changing and the ‘old ways’ won’t work anymore; you have to connect to your employees. Creating an environment where people feel (or have a stake in) ownership is the key to success.
Notable Quotes: “As a result of working for a Mentor Manager, employees give respect and loyalty, and they engage with their work and those they work with on the highest level.” – Clint Pulver “If your people can’t grow where they are, they will leave and grow somewhere else.” "I've seen organizations spend valuable time and money trying to fix issues that are actually just symptoms, while the real problem goes unidentified." "When a leader delegates to her team, she doesn't abdicate all responsibility. There is still oversight, guidance, and accountability that needs to take place. It's possible to give your people both, while not feeling like you're losing control." "It's not about being the best in the world; it's about being the best for the world."

Every now and then I come across a book that I am skeptical about, then get absolutely blown away after reading it. I Love It Here by Clint Pulver is one such book.
This book dives deep into why companies either have good or bad retention rates. The answer is quite simple, if you love it you'll stay. But what creates a culture that allows employees to "love it here"?
Clint created a company called Undercover Millennial to answer that question. I truly believe what Clint does is a game changer as I've seen the impact mentally, physically, and spiritually that wreaks havoc on employees when they don't love it here.
There a plenty of gimmicky books that companies recommend or require their staff to read. Clint is not a gimmick! (which is what I thought at first, sorry 🤣) This book needs to be put in the hands of every mid level manager up through the top bosses of any corporation or business.
Employees: find meaning in what you do, strive to be better, be the change you want to see. Managers: Show your people recognition, care about the needs of the emploees, be sincere by not faking it till you make it
P.S. if you're into audiobook, Clint read this one himself so it has a personal touch to it
This book was part of an Athenian Dialogue leadership class a few weeks ago. This book provides tips and strategies to leaders and potential leaders on how to build a great organization.
I think the goal of creating an environment that employees love is lofty. The author mentions this. Only 15% of people really love where they work. Most just tolerate it or really hate it.
I do think though that many of the suggestions in the book are good ways to make an office run smoother and keep employees content so if they don't love it they like it well enough.
The leadership class though was really kind of a therapy session where everybody shared some of the pluses and minuses of where they worked. Listening to some of the stories of other city clerks made me feel a lot better about where I'm at.
The book goes through a lot of different leadership styles and what can be helpful or not. In class it was emphasized that even though some of us, like myself, don't really supervise others we can still be leaders in our cities. Therefore some of the strategies can be useful.
Some good stories and quips but nothing super groundbreaking, but that's leadership books, if you've read one, you're going to have some repeats in any others you read. For Pulver's go at it, I think he did well to make it personal, give the reader some mini challenges/questions at the end of each chapter that did help get thoughts rolling. I also liked how many different people he interviewed and spoke out for, such as CEOs, regular entry-level workers, professors, the Ironman Cowboy, and a juggler. Many great quotes and some neat ideas towards the end of this book. Was a goodie.
Some of the more moving pieces I gathered from this: The juggler's comment of how people don't remember how many balls you had up in the air, but they sure do remember how many you dropped. Pulver asked how do others experience you? How do they experience themselves when with you? When presented with problems, don't react quickly and treat just the symptoms; you must dig in or even take a step back to observe and make sure you are treating the source of an issue. You don't need to be the best in the world, but you should try to be the best for the world.
Create the best environment at work with all employees!
Do you love your job? Do you have any reason to leave your current job or a million reasons to get out?
I found a staggering statistic from a 2019 survey by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that, only 40% of Americans say they work in good jobs. 44% say they are in mediocre jobs and 16% say they are in bad jobs.
Clint Pulver, Emmy Award-winning speaker, aka the Undercover Millennial, is here to help you begin loving your job!
In his new book: I Love It Here, he shares how to properly train your managers to create great leaders within organizations who facilitate an environment no one wants to leave.
Learn the number one driver of employee turnover and how you can create an environment where your employees always have something good to talk about!
This is the worst book on leadership I've ever read. "A leader we worked with told us that one of her employees has been granted the ability to never be at the office past 4:30 p.m. Why? He wants to go fishing. He wants to walk his dogs. These things are really important to him."
Why don't you just let your employees do whatever they want? I'm sure letting Greg go home early so he can fish while the rest of the team picks up the slack won't cause any resentment in a team.
This book is an instruction manual on coddling children in the workplace instead of developing strong people. I do not recommend it. This book is a joke.
I came across 'I Love It Here' while researching material for a presentation on Building a Healthy Team. AI recommended this book based on its relevance to the topic, and after reading the positive reviews, I eagerly added it to my list. The book offers valuable insights into fostering a positive and productive team environment, which aligns perfectly with my goal of enhancing team dynamics and cohesion. It's been a worthwhile addition to my resources, providing practical strategies and inspiring examples that resonate well with current organizational challenges. I'm looking forward to when I can devote the time to reading the entire thing.
Great book on leadership. I saw the author speak at a conference in New Orleans and he was so full of energy and passionate, that I had to get and read his book! I was not disappointed. I am new in the manager role and this book taught me a lot. I’m also in a mentor program that my work does as well. This books is clearly written and doesn’t have much jargon, so it’s easy to understand. I was really intrigued by the “Undercover Millennial.” Great book. Hope he keeps writing and influencing others!
Super glad to see Clint wrote a book and was excited to read it. He is doing awesome work and has accomplished so much already. With being a drummer, Emmy winner, and the Undercover Millennial, and now a bestselling author, wow! Just incredible. I'd encourage anyone working in a company to grab this book especially managers who want to create an environment for employees to never leave. Clint is the guy to learn from!
Clint Pulver presented at a company event a couple of months before I started working there. However, I heard great things about his energy, enthusiasm, and great take-away messages. So when he published a book about employee retention (with such a fun title), I grabbed a copy.
So much of what he outlines is practiced in the company that I'm at now, I have to echo his direction. The ideas covered are spot on for what's needed for employees to love where they work.
I’ve read dozens of books on managing teams and growing companies, look elsewhere, this is not a good one. Felt as if the author was constantly talking down to the reader about all the boomers and how they need to get on board with an emerging world. Nothing new, nothing compelling. I was looking for a new point of view. The only thing worse than this book is a live presentation by this person. (Don't even get me started about what a diva the author is about drumming).
This book is an absolutely stellar guide to bringing people up and making your organization and culture a place that your people want to not only exist but thrive. It's well researched, it's well constructed, it's funny and it's all written from the writer's personal experience. Honestly I couldn't have asked for more. In fact, I couldn't put it down. I didn't want to. Didn't see it coming, but SO VERY HAPPY it found its way to my desk.
Some of the references in this book are reliable and trustworthy but take this book with a grain of salt. The author has no experience in this field and the research is not formal or documented; it his millennial biased and skewed view and lacks any type of substantial credibility. He's needs to stick with being a comedian and beating his own drum and staying out of talent management until he actually works in the field for a while.
Clint is now a bestselling author! Before this awesome accomplishment, he earned the titles of being an Emmy Award-winning speaker, talented drummer, and the Undercover Millennial. This book comes to us with over 10,000 interviews with employees across the country. A true case study with read data and analyzation. Clint did an awesome job and I hope you grab this book, too!
The endorsements for this book is what drew me in especially John Maxwell. Man, am I glad I grabbed a copy. Clint did an amazing job with his first book, not to mention he the cover looks amazing! This book will make a great manager turn into a world class manager. Really great stuff. Grab this book!
Great cover, great title, great knowledge, and a great author! All around great! With the help of this book and Clint's wisdom from over 10,000 interviews, every employee will tap dance to work!
Clint is such a cool guy! Love following him on social media and when I saw he was releasing a book, I knew I had to grab it. This book has tons of great points and models on how to do exactly as the subtitle reads. I really would recommend this to anyone who has a job because the knowledge can be applied universally to any business or organization. Thanks Clint!
I saw the author speak and received this book for free signed by him. His public speaking was inspiring to me. His book was entertaining to learn about his careers, skills, knowledge and more. It's also very easy to apply and very relatable. I really liked this book, highlighted it and will be keeping it in reach for easy reference.
I read this for work and was really dreading it, since I normally only read fiction, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was current. It had a lot of good ideas. It also had a lot of good, relatable stories that really made his messages stick. So if you are looking for a leadership book, I would recommend this one!
This book was incredibly thought provoking. I really enjoyed reading. I first learned about Clint when he came to a youth council conference at USU a few years ago. I have been an avid follower since. This book just embodies all that he wants to share with the world. Definitely taking this to my team at work.
Clint's new book is truly applicable to any person and organization. Everyone can take away some knowledge. I am glad he wrote it because he has the best data from over 10,000 interviews as the undercover millennial. Great work, Clint!
Clint brought us this knowledge from over 10,000 interviews with employees as the Undercover Millennial. Super awesome! Very well written and the endorsements from Maxwell and Pink stand true. Really glad I grabbed a copy and you should too!
Clint is such a great guy and done awesome work over the years. Really captivating speaker, awesome drummer, and now a bestselling author! Anything Clint writes or produces I will check out and I am glad I read his book. I encourage you to do the same!!
