A few years ago, Lynette Eason self-published a trio of novellas set in the fictional small town of Tanner Hollow. Recently, the copyrights were purchased by Revell and the books have now been republished into a collection and a fourth novella featuring tie-ins to Eason's Blue Justice series has been added.

LETHAL HOMECOMING

This novella is the first and the shortest. So short, there is barely enough time for the story to happen. I had that feeling the first time I read it when it was self-published, and I had hoped that some editing would have fleshed out the story a little better for its republication. Unfortunately, it still seems largely unedited. Nolan and Kallie are intriguing characters, but due to the length of the story, the reader never got a chance to connect with them. Similarly, the plot felt very rushed. There were a few action scenes, then you snap your fingers the book is over. In that respect, this novella was a bit disappointing, and my least favorite.

LETHAL CONSPIRACY

Thankfully, the pacing issues seem to have resolved after that first novella. While still short--these are novellas, after all--the story and characters were fleshed out more thoroughly, making for a more enjoyable read. I enjoyed seeing Nolan's brother, Jason, as the lead in this story. It was also a nice deviation from the norm in having a firefighter the hero versus a law enforcement officer. Lillian is a tough character who has been through a lot, and is hesitant to accept help. But I enjoyed seeing her and Jason's relationship progress through the story.

I do have one complaint with this story, and that's with the inaccuracies portrayed in the opening scene. Jason responds to a house fire, and an unresponsive woman is found in her car in the garage as they work to put out the fire. Jason immediately pulls her out, suspects carbon monoxide poisoning (a good guess) and starts mouth-to-mouth. Now, in giving first aid to someone who is not breathing, mouth-to-mouth is NOT the first step. Chest compressions are always the first step. Also, as a first responder, they would have PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as a face mask\shield on hand (which Jason didn't use) for doing mouth-to-mouth. This situation is one of my biggest pet peeves, so it really stuck out to me, but an editor or the author could have done a bit of research on the protocol for this situation and corrected these issues.

LETHAL SECRETS

The plot in this third novella is the most complex yet, and I was kept guessing throughout. Honor's five children each had such character and made the story more enjoyable. Eli fell a bit flat to me, but overall I did enjoy these characters. The small-town aspect of the series really shines in this book as the entire town rallies around Honor to help her family. Eason also touches lightly on some difficult topics, which also adds some depth to the story. Overall, this one wasn't my favorite, but was still an enjoyable read.

LETHAL AGENDA

And now onto the final novella and my favorite. This one features Detective Derek St. John, one of the three brothers in Eason's Blue Justice series. I was very disappointed that Derek didn't get his own full-length novel like the rest of his siblings did, but this novella worked well in this collection and shared his story perhaps just as effectively as a novel would. Derek and Claire, a crime scene investigator, had a lot of chemistry and were characters together and individually. Their backstory of how they initially met made a lot of sense and made the romance so much more plausible. The story keeps you on your toes throughout with a good dose of mystery and, of course, Eason's trademark action-packed scenes.

All in all, this collection of action-packed romantic suspense stories was an enjoyable, quick read that I recommend to new and old Lynette Eason readers!

Really 4 or 4.5 stars, but considering how many times I’ve reread the first three stories with the same amount of enjoyment, I’m bumping it up to five stars. The fourth story is the one that’s fully new material, and I loved it best of all, though it really wasn’t long enough. The parts with Daria (a character from book 4) were in were quite fun as she does her tricks with computers and helps solve the mystery on the pronto. It’s more suspense than mystery, but is a great conclusion to the Blue Justice series.

Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. My review is based on the final copy, not the ARC, and a favorable review was not required.

This was a wild ride. Last novella in the collection is my favorite, not gonna lie.

LETHAL HOMECOMING - 4 stars
This was intense, and I didn't see that ending coming…like never even suspected that was the reason. Maybe because there wasn't much to go on…lol…but nevertheless, It was enjoyable. Kallie was a good character, but Nolan was definitely my favorite of the two.

LETHAL CONSPIRACY - 4 stars
Wow…what a ride. That ending. That ending. I did not see that ending coming. Wow. Lillian was a good character, felt she needed a little more emotion for everything going on though. Jason was great! I loved him, and Uncle Reggie was fantastic.

LETHAL SECRETS - 3.5 Stars
This one is a touch slower. Sweet, but slower and not as much going on. Honor was a good character, not my favorite of the female leads though. Eli was a nice guy.
I dunno, wasn't connect as much with this little Harry was my favorite, his perpetual pessimistic attitude and frown was funny. And then Bella Ann was adorable. Gus and Sam were also adorable. And Christopher was the responsible older brother. I think I might have liked the kids more than the adults.😂

LETHAL AGENDA - 5 Stars
The reason I read this collection and I was not disappointed! Lol…loved this story! And Derek…what were you thinking? But also, that was awesome! Claire was so sweet and determined. I love both of them, and wow…that bad guy caught me off guard and then off guard again…it was a double what?
Amazing!
Also, Daria was in it! I clicked with this girl for some reason, and now every time she comes into a book, I'm excited! (Plus, I just found the anthology with her novella in for 10 bucks brand new on Amazon! *ahem* There may be a purchase in my future)

Overall
I enjoyed this collection and would recommend it for ages 16+.

Lethal Homecoming
Just as mysterious as I recalled! Again, I didn’t figure out whodunit. I liked the family drama and that this was a complex little novella.

Lethal Conspiracy
Wow. So blown away by this one. Such a great addition to the series. I especially enjoyed the wonderful usage of technology and forensic science. The drama and suspense were spot-on and engaging. The faith thread was light, but that did not detract from the amazing quality of this story.

Lethal Secrets
Oh, be still, my heart! The fact that the author was gutsy enough to give the heroine five children in this novella made my heart melt. None of the kids got lost or felt flat in the ten-chapter story, and I liked the balance between the family drama and suspense. Fabulous!

Lethal Agenda
Derek’s story did not disappoint. Action-packed and stuffed to the gills with suspects, this tale was a blast to read. My only wish was that it would have been placed in the Blue Justice series rather than tacked on to the Tanner Hollow trilogy. Derek was the only St. John sibling to be shoved off into a different series, which made it feel strange and out of place. However, his story was five-star amazing, which I fully expected. I was happy that he had his moment to shine.

This collection of novellas is like a sweet gift from author, Lynette Eason, to her readers!!

Protecting Tanner Hollow has all of the romantic suspense you could possibly want and more!! The stories are quick paced, the characters are charming, and I enjoyed every page-turning second. I think my favorite characters are the Tanner brothers. I liked that each novella wrapped up nicely and each subsequent one beyond the first gave a little sneak peek into the characters from earlier stories.

Stories 3 & 4 were my favourite! Novellas tend to be a hit-or-miss for me since I feel like things happen too fast. But the cosy/creepy, small town autumn vibes were immaculate!

This is a great collection of novellas by one of my favorite authors. Lynette Eason has a way of ramping up the suspense and action to keep the pages turning. All of the four novellas take place in the small town of Tanner Hollow, North Carolina. In Lethal Homecoming, Kallie Ainsworth returns home for her stepfather's funeral. Kallie left home several years prior because he was abusive to her. On her way, close to her home, someone tries to kill her. Nolan Tanner is a sheriff deputy and a former boyfriend. He tries to keep her safe and find out who is after her. There are several suspects.
In Lethal Conspiracy, Jason Tanner, Nolan's brother, is a firefighter who rescues a young woman inside a car in the garage of a burning house in a town near Tanner Hollow that appears to be a suicide attempt. Lillian Maloney, daughter of a congressman running for the Senate, swears that she is on the run for her life because she witnessed a murder. She did not try to kill herself. Jason believes her and helps her find out what is going on.
In Lethal Secrets, Honor McBride and her five children left their home in Texas to get away from some bad people who are after her to get money owed them by her now dead husband. Eli Murphy is a bank owner and interim minister in Tanner Hollow and helps Honor with a blown out tire as they arrive in town. When it appears that the threatening people have followed Honor and children to Tanner Hollow, Eli takes them in to protect them and help find out who is trying to kill her.
In Lethal Agenda, forensic specialist Claire Montgomery is attacked in her home by someone that threatens to kill her. Help arrives right away as now Sheriff Nolan Tanner and friend Detective Derek St. John (from Blue Justice series) visiting from Columbia, South Carolina hear a quick 911 call from Claire and run the suspect off. Derek is on vacation and able to keep an eye on Claire as everyone pitches in to find out who has it out for Claire.
My only wish was that the individual stories had been full length, longer lasing instead of novellas but still great, quick reads that are highly entertaining and recommended.
I received a complimentary ARC from Revell through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

Award-winning author Lynette Eason takes readers on a fast-paced, adrenaline-filled ride through the small town of Tanner Hollow in her latest romantic suspense novella collection, Protecting Tanner Hollow. The first three novellas were previously published as e-books by this author (Lethal Homecoming, Lethal Conspiracy, and Lethal Secrets), so readers will love how these stories come together in this fantastic collection. Since the novellas primarily take place in the town of Tanner Hollow, several of the characters have appearances in multiple stories in the collection, which makes the novellas more enjoyable to read.

The addition of Lethal Agenda, the highly anticipated story of Derek St. John from Lynette Eason’s Blue Justice series, makes this novella collection a must-read for fans of the St. John family. I was thrilled when I found out that Derek St. John would be getting his own story. As a huge fan of the Blue Justice series, I would have preferred for Derek’s story to have been told in a full length novel, but Lethal Agenda does provide an extremely satisfying conclusion to the Blue Justice series.

Revisited this great novella collection and it was just as great a read the second time around.

----

Lynette Eason is one of my go-to romantic suspense authors so when she publishes novellas only in ebook format I have an epic meltdown. Serious, two-year-old tantrum time! Why? Because I don't read ebooks and it kills me to be left out! So imagine my biblio-euphoric delight when her Tanner Hollow novellas appeared in this paperback edition! Along with Derek St. John's (Blue Justice series) long awaited chance to shine in his very own story! I am all kinds of fan-girling over this collection!

I think what struck me most about these novellas is how different they are from each other despite the fact they share the same author. It shows just how versatile and talented Lynette Eason is.

Lethal Homecoming is the classic kind of white-knuckled, nail-biting intensity that leaves a reader breathless. Lethal Conspiracy is a political thriller where no one believes the heroine witnessed a murder...except the murderer who wants to silence her. Lethal Secrets was the biggest surprise for me -- a heroine with five children! Haven't seen that in a romantic suspense -- ever! There's as much page time devoted to developing relationships as to the edge-of-your-seat suspense plot.

But the piece-de-resistance is definitely Lethal Agenda -- where readers are reunited with the St. John clan in so many wonderful ways. This is Derek's story but his family has his back and the sibling interactions are divine! I was all weepy happy by the end of this one. :-)

A truly stunning collection of compelling romantic suspense novellas -- and a definite must read for Blue Justice fans!.

Eason puts together four novellas all relating to characters in Tanner Hollow. All have their own mystery/thriller and bits of humor to it. Some seems a bit incredible of story lines in Eason's books but the action makes you keep turning the pages.

All four novellas can stand on their own but it has its town and a couple of characters in common for unity. Also the fourth novella sets up the Vows of Justice series.

Protecting Tanner Hollow was a wonderful compilation of novellas that captured the heart of small town mystery and romance. There are four stories, each uniquely written with connections that weave through the stories. However, each can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed seeing new and much loved characters pop up. From beginning until end these stories are packed with suspense.

Lethal Homecoming…perhaps a little too fast of a read/happy ending, but I loved the story anyway! When Kallie returns home she’s met with danger before she even gets there. Detective Nolan is one of those leading men that will capture your heart. He just wants to protect Kallie and maybe steal her heart, too. I love seeing their characters pop up in this series, too!

Lethal Conspiracy…When Lily wakes up in a hospital with firefighter, Jason and the doctor believing she is trying to kill herself the sparks are set off immediately. As she tries to get them to believe she was running from a murderer another attempt is made on her life. It’s a face paced story that kept me wanting more.

Lethal Secrets is such a heartwarming story of a widow of five, just trying to survive. Honor has little money and comes to Tanner Hollow to start over, but mysterious accidents and threats are making a fresh start difficult. Eli has a wonderful heart and as he steps into help, it just made me yearn for their happy ending.

Lethal Agenda is by far my favorite. As an avid fan of Eason’s Blue Justice series, I loved seeing Derek St. John’s story merge with the Tanner Hollow community. I’ve been hoping for his happy ending and though I wish he’d gotten a full length story, Eason did a phenomenal job with this novella. When Derek sees Claire again, she’s in the middle of danger and they both have to figure out how to keep her safe. I loved both their strong characters.

Overall, I thought this was a great 4 in 1 book. It was an easy, fast paced read, that ended with all the feels. Loved it! For fans of romantic suspense that want a quick read, this four in one will fit the bill! It’s a must read for Blue Justice fans.

Lynette Eason never disappoints with her well-written plot and high-powered, adrenaline-laced action and suspense and memorable characters. I love that these four novellas take place in the small town of Tanner Hollow, NC and are connected by the characters in each story.

Lethal Homecoming features Nolan Tanner, a detective in Tanner Hollow, and Kallie who is being targeted as she returns to town for her stepfather’s funeral. Lethal Conspiracy is about Jason Tanner, Nolan’s firefighter brother, and Lilly, a politician’s daughter, running from a killer. Lethal Secrets features Eli, the Tanner brothers’ cousin, and Honor who is a single mother of five running from those attempting to kill her and harm her children. These three novellas have previously been published separately under their titles. Lethal Agenda, a new novella, brings Derek St. John from the Blue Justice series into Claire’s life as she tries to figure out how her job as a forensic specialist is tied to the near death experiences she keeps having. The villains are unexpected and surprising in each story and each story reads like a full-length novel. If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love this collection of novellas.

*My Thoughts*
Protecting Tanner Hollow is the perfect cozy afternoon read for suspense lovers! Quick, but well written, each story ties well into the next. Characters are engaging and fun and each story is a delight. Like some novellas tend to be, some parts seemed a little rushed and cheesy, but overall Lynette did a great job with this set. The last story even ties a character into another series she has written. Suspense lovers and fans of Irene Hannon and Colleen Coble need to add this one to their bookshelves.

Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason is a four novella collection.

I have been a fan of Lynette Eason for quite a while. I frequently say I will read anything she writes.
This collection did not disappoint!
LETHAL HOMECOMING starts out with a very exciting scene and the suspense builds. Who wants Kallie Ainsworth dead? Her stepfather has died, but she isn’t a threat, or so she believes. Detective Nolan Tanner wants to ensure her safety and to keep her from being accused of murder. Ms. Eason keeps you guessing until the end.
LETHAL CONSPIRACY: Lillian Maloney sees something she shouldn’t and her life is in danger. Can firefighter Jason Tanner help find the evidence that conveniently disappeared? This was full of twists and turns and unexpected events to keep you on your toes. Then the pieces begin to fall into place.
LETHAL SECRETS: Honor McBride is running from her past and the mess her dead husband left for her to deal with. She seeks refuge in Tanner Hollow. All she wants is to live in peace in the house her great aunt willed to her. But someone wants to disrupt that peace. Eli Murphy helps her the minute she rolls into town with a flat tire. He seems to be there for her no matter the danger. Ms. Eason portrays a widow with five children with realism and heart as she ramps up the tension and confounds us with possible suspects.
LETHAL AGENDA is in my opinion the best of the bunch. I read the whole Blue Justice series earlier this year and was longing to see what brother Derek St. John’s story would be. I couldn’t be happier. Ms. Eason has a way of coming up with fresh ideas for criminals to harass and perplex their victims. I love the way Derek and Claire found each other again and how he protected her. The whole St.John family came together at Thanksgiving for their celebration of love and friendly chaos. It was the icing on the cake for the St. John family stories.

I have had such fun and enjoyment reading this set of four novellas. Usually, I prefer full length novels, but do have a fondness for the shorter, less involved reads that novellas present to the reader. These were not joyful, happy, luvy-duvy stories. They were tense, action stories and all were set in the fictional quaint, small town Tanner Hollow in North Carolina.

The characters throughout the four novellas were connected just as you might expect them to be in a small town where everyone knows everyone else, (and their business) and there is a lot of kinship going on. The author, Lynette Eason, did a good joy of interweaving, yet not being repetitive, the livelihoods and connections that the people had with each other.

As I was reading, I found it easy to feel the tension and empathize with the heroines as they were involved with people and events that placed them in peril. I also found it handsomely fun giving me warm-fuzzy feeling when we had heroes of various types step in and rescue or solve problems for those in dire need.

I thoroughly enjoyed these light, but intense, and short reads. They filled a need in my life right now when I need interesting, short diversionary reads.

I really enjoyed this collection of stories from one of my favorite authors. These stories have been previously released but were new to me as I hadn't gotten to the individual stories before. My favorite of the collection was the 2nd story. I really liked the mystery in that one and there were a couple of massive surprises in that one. I also loved that Derek St. John finally had his story told as well. All in all, a fantastic collection of stories! Recommended!

I always look forward to Lynette Eason's books because I know I can always expect a brilliantly thought-out and well written suspense novel, and Protecting Tanner Hollow was certainly no exception!

Featuring some amazing characters from the Tanner family (Nolan and Jason) as well as other characters such as Derek from the beloved St. John family and Eli Murphy, I found this set of 4 novellas (each ~100 pages) a delight to read! I loved how some of the novellas were written from a male perspective, and also how there were so many family + friend interactions in each of the stories, especially so in Honor McBride's story with all her lovely children (sweet Beth Ann and her vocabulary!) and how Eli and the whole town of Tanner Hollow pitched in to help her.

Even though I adored them all, my favorite novella is probably the last one (Derek St. John and Claire Montgomery's story) because the chance to catch a glimpse of the amazing St. John family meant so much to me since I really loved the whole Blue Justice series. I rather do wish that Eason could have provided a bit more backstory to when they met, but perhaps she did in the Blue Justice series and I just missed it. But I'm so glad that Derek ended up getting his own story, albeit it being a novella!

Overall, Protecting Tanner Hallow provided me with such a lovely read with the amazing characters and dynamic family relationships (with Kallie's step-siblings and the St. John family), and it will always have a place on my favorites shelf. Well done, Ms. Eason! Highly recommended. 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoy romantic suspense. Lynette Eason is very good at this genre and I was excited when I saw she had this book coming out. Eason gives us four wonderfully suspenseful novellas AND one of them gives us Derek St. John's story! I loved her Blue Justice series and the St. John siblings, so I was very happy to read Derek's story. I recommend this book.

"Bad things happened in the dark." - Lethal Homecoming

Kallie Armstrong travels home to Tanner Hollow only to experience an accident that was meant to end her life before she even arrived. When help appears, it's in the form of a hero who captured her heart so many years ago; when she left without saying good-by. Nolan Tanner.

"He needed to put away the image of the beautiful dark haired woman on the gurney . . . " - Lethal Conspiracy

Tanner Hollow firefighter Jason Tanner is shocked by his visceral reaction to Lilly Peterson. After finding her trapped in a burning garage and accompanying her to the hospital, he actually believes her unusual story . . she wasn't trying to commit suicide, she was certain that someone was trying to kill her.

"The desperation flashing in the woman's pretty, yet fatigued, eyes tugged on heartstrings he'd thought long gone." - Lethal Secrets

Eli Marshall is happy to change the newcomer's tires and make sure that her five young children got something to eat, but he is certain that Honor McBrie is not going to like the condition of her new home. Unfortunately, she's made it perfectly clear that she doesn't necessarily need his help . . . .until she does.

"Someone's in my house . . . . " - Lethal Agenda

Claire Montgomery never expected to nearly die in her own home. When Tanner Hollow Sheriff Nolan Tanner responds to her distress call, he brings someone else along; Derek St. John. How could her one time conversation with the handsome detective over a year ago, still remain so present in her memory?

Four fast paced stories with multitudinous scenarios and a dizzying array of plot curves; packaged perfectly into an enjoyable collection.

My Review of Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason:

Lethal Homecoming: I read this novella before and hadn’t realized that when I requested the novella collection from Revell for review since I was excited for the story of Derek St. John from the Blue Justice books, and I didn’t read the blurb, I didn’t have to, knowing that it was a collection from Lynette Eason, enough for me. I enjoyed this novella, the plot was all right though rushed a little bit, the characters could possibly be a little average for the suspense genre but I still enjoyed reading about them.

Lethal Conspiracy: For thrillers about politicians this might be my favorite story. With secrets, romance, new friends, murder, and a campaign manager gone bad you can't go wrong with this book. But, there is content that makes this a novella for older readers.

Lethal Secrets: Starting with a bullet this is one interesting ride of a read, and it was not like any suspense I've read recently, it was nice to read a new take on romantic suspense. And the kids were so cute, sweet, and too smart for their own good...

Lethal Agenda: This is a long awaited story that is not nearly long enough in my opinion. It was so good, with the craziest of the St. John family yet, who picks up what he did? Yeah, it was the only way to live but yikes. I cannot begin to describe my love of this book and can just say it needs to be on your TBR list!
Rating: 4 stars.

Recommendation: 16/19 up for content.

Verse: Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (King James Version.)

I need more Lynette Eason novellas - and if I’m being honest I need novels too -please. I loved reading the four novellas that were in the book. They all were amazing and I could not put it down.

Lethal Homecoming:

Though this one was short, I still really loved reading about Nolan and Kallie. The suspense and mystery were amazing. Just reading this one novella made me fall in love with Lynette Eason’s writing all over again.

Lethal Conspiracy:

This one wasn’t as strong in the mystery department like the last one was, but it still got my heart thumping in anticipation. I really loved getting to know Jason more in this one after reading about him in the novella before. I loved that Mrs. Eason connected all her novellas. It was fabulous.

Lethal Secrets:

Though this one was probably my less liked novella, it was still was pretty darn good. I don’t know what about Mrs. Eason’s makes it so addicting but even though I didn’t love this one it still drew me in and then spit me out once I was done. It was fabulous!

Lethal Agenda:

This one was probably my favorite because it was about the very last St. John kid. If y’all have read any of my other reviews about Mrs. Eason’s books then you know how much I LOVE the St. John family. I loved getting to read about Derek and get to know about him a bit more. Also like his siblings before him, his story was just as suspenseful and amazing. Seriously, the St. John family is one of my all time favorite fiction families!

Overall I really enjoyed every single novella that was found in this book. I am really hoping that Mrs. Eason has a few more novels for us coming up in the future!

This book is a compilation of the four Tanner Hollow romantic suspense novellas. Each one is full of suspense and romance set in the small town of Tanner Hollow, but the romance takes a backseat to the suspense most of the time. They are connected by the numerous members of the Tanner family, their spouses, and friends who are all in various law enforcement positions. Because they are novellas, each moves quickly both in the solution to the crime as well as the romance aspect. Yet, overall, it was a very compelling read that kept my attention.

I am updating this review with the final story at the end.

Original review:

I have read 3/4 of the stories in this book, before I loaned it to my mom who wanted something to read. I might update this review if I read the last story.

In general, the women in these stories, though emotionally strong and worthy of respect, are yet physically helpless, and the men rescue and protect them. It made me think that not only was the romance wish-fulfillment literature, but so was the sense of protection. All these stories had villians chasing the women. Run, run, run, duck. Feels a little repetitive.

Also, they all involved women with trust issues, which, while it might be prevalent in the real world, also feels repetitive, and that may be part of the wish-fulfillment, too, - an interested man who helps overcome trust issues. In particular, I thought book 3's character overcame that too easily to have been realistic for a victim of domestic abuse. Plus the kids in that book also did not seem traumatized by the domestic violence.

I chose this book to read for the suspense to distract me from matters at hand. And I suppose it did, some, but book 2 had the characters frequently falling asleep when I was already tired myself and it made me rather sleep than read. I thought that was odd for a suspense novel.

Book 1: Lethal Homecoming. 3 stars. I figured out whodunit. Really, there weren't enough characters for it to have been anyone else.

Book 2: Lethal Conspiracy. 3 Stars. I also figured out whodunit, although the motive wasn't given until the end. It was just the only person who mase sense given his/her earlier reactions.

I do realize that suspense novels are not like mystery novels in the realm of clues and that they tend to go for more emotion and less problem-solving skills on the part of the reader.

Something didn't seem quite right with the paramedic's actions. They tend to intubate and use oxgen with back pressure or "bag" a patient rather than giving mouth to mouth, especially if they arrive on the scene with all their equipment and the ambulance.

Book 3: Lethal Secrets. This was my favorite of the set thus far. 4 stars. Thoroughly enjoyable, largely due to the kids. Although the main character knew who was chasing her, she didn't tell us until the very end, and there weren't enough clues to figure it out.

This was also the only one thus far that I would classify as Christian romance, since faith topics were discussed. The male protagonist was subbing for a preacher although we have no idea what he preached. He did discuss trusting God with the domestic violence victim and I thought he did well reiterating to her how God had seen her through various crises. But I think she would need more than that. She would need counselling. Still, I liked his character and the attempts he made.

This is the second series I've read lately with a reluctant church secretary. The other series is the Psalms 23 series, wbich is a series I would recommend thus far.

Book 4: Lethal Agenda. 3 Stars. This one involved some of the characters from another series, the Blue Justice series. It had been long enough ago since I read that, I didn't remember the characters all that well, but I did enjoy it. Other reviewers either liked or disliked this book due to the presence of these other characters drawn in from elsewhere.

Again, we weren't given any meaningful clues to solve the mystery and we didn't even meet the character(s) involved in the crime until the very end of the book. For the case to involve a forensic scientist, there wasn't much forensic science going on - but of course she was on the run.

This set of 4 stories in one averages closer to a 3-star review than a 4-star review, but it is between a 3 and a 4.

One thing I love about novella collections is that there's a natural break. I know going in that I'll be able to finish one novella in 60-90 minutes, so it's not a big time commitment for a complete story. Plus, if you don't love one story, you can just move on to the next for something different!

Each of the novellas in Protecting Tanner Hollow is at least partially set in Tanner Hollow, North Carolina, and several characters make repeat appearances throughout the stories. Each novella is a pleasant way to pass an hour or two, and fans of romantic suspense will probably really enjoy this collection. 3-1/2 stars.

Here's what I thought of each novella:

Lethal Homecoming: I thought there was good character development in the short amount of time; it helped that Nolan and Kallie had an established relationship, so their romance didn't feel too rushed. However, the villain's identity and motivation did seem to come out of nowhere. 3-1/2 stars.

Lethal Conspiracy: This novella felt very rushed—a ton was packed into its pages! I really would've liked it to be a full-blown novel. Overall, it was a bit predictable, but it was also enjoyable. 3 stars.

Lethal Secrets: Oh, how I loved Eli! This novella was still fast-paced, but it covered enough time for the romance to feel believable. I enjoyed getting to know Honor and her children, and, while the reason Honor was in danger was a bit far-fetched, this is the novella that felt the most grounded and realistic to me. This was definitely my favorite of the four. 4 stars.

Lethal Agenda: This novella felt like it was part of another series, especially the end—and I guess it was. While I think it would've been really satisfying for fans of the Blue Justice series, all the characters thrown in at the end just caused me to feel overwhelmed. I really felt like I was missing something because I haven't read the Blue Justice series. That said, I think it had the strongest suspense thread of all four novellas. 3 stars.

Disclosure of material connection: I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and the opinions expressed are my own.

4 thrilling novellas set in the seemingly idyllic Tanner Hollow, one featuring Derek St. John!

Action-packed, thrilling reads from Lynette Eason. I was so excited to read these novellas, and would save them as rewards for myself for getting other tasks done. They did not disappoint!

The first two stories feature brothers Nolan and Jason Tanner, as they evade killers and find love. The third story finds Eli Murphy risking his own secrets to help Honor. And the 4th is an absolute must read for fans of Ms. Eason's Blue Justice Series, as it stars Derek St. John.

I enjoyed every one of these stories, they all pack a huge punch in a novella-length story. Great heroes and heroines, thrilling, suspenseful stories that do not disappoint! Perfect for fans of suspense!

I’m a fan of novellas and when you get one author doing a collection of four that all tie together, it’s just icing on the cake!

In Protecting Tanner Hollow, Lynette Eason introduces readers to the small NC town and several of its residents. But this community seems to be a magnet for danger.

Three of the books in this collection were previously released as ebooks by Eason but the fourth story is brand new and conveniently wraps up the Blue Justice series with the last remaining St. John sibling visiting Tanner Hollow.

I really enjoyed how the books connected to each other and how a character introduced in one story becomes a lead in another one, giving this book a cohesiveness that is sometimes missing in a collection from multiple authors.

Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason is a collection of 4 novellas set in Tanner Hollow. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Eason created a small town with some unforgettable characters. Nolan and Jason Tanner are two upright guys just looking to keep their town safe. Fortunately they found love along the way. Derek St. Peter and Eli Murphy are also strong upright men. And the ladies are strong well defined characters. The plot moves along quickly with several murders and attempted murders. I highly recommend this series for a great weekend read. grab your favorite beverage and visit Tanner Hollow.

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley .com with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

I love Lynette Eason and this Novella collection was fun, and suspenseful and everything I came to expect from her. There was a heme of abuse through all four novellas but each one at their own story. Even though it was novellas, all the stories felt completed without being rushed.

Lethal Homecoming
The author did a great job of getting me to suspect a character, with only throwing a great twist with who was actually behind everything and why.

Lethal Conspiracy
Though the bad guy was known from the start, there was a twist at the end I did not see coming.

Lethal Conspiracy
I adored and enjoyed all the children's chatter and antics in this Novella. Again, the author did a great job with hiding important information just before the big reveal.

Lethal Agenda
This novella was the one I was looking forward to the most. I loved Derek in the Blue Justice series and enjoyed catching up with the St John family. I enjoyed the action and suspense in this novella. I still would have loved a full novel about Derek, I felt there was a lot more about Derek and this novella was over way too fast for my liking.

If you enjoy a book with non-stop action, full of suspense, and mystery, you’re in for a treat with four riveting stories.
What ties them together is the location Tanner Hollow, and a few characters that appear in each story, even if just a brief part.
When I finished reading, one I quickly got immersed in the next, and the book was finished before I knew it.
For me I loved all of the stories, but the last one reunited me with the St. John family, and wow, I wasn’t expecting it, but it made me happy!
