Like all cookbooks I read, it is over time and I actually do some recipes.
Bonnie really works on a book that can be used by a family. The recipes are family oriented and the reality of a family kitchen is up front in the dialog.
For all Canadians and anyone who loves to cook. Apparently Bonnie Stern is Canadian-I discovered this over Christmas as I was wandering through the cooking section asking for a great selection. This is a great collection of recipes with a theme-all revolving around Friday night dinners. There are great photos-which is always a favourite of mine as I like to see what the dish is supposed to look like. The recipes are easy to follow with common ingredients. So far, my dishes have turned out great.
I've always heard "Sunday night dinners," but I like the idea of a fancy Friday night dinner to end the work week and start the weekend. As of reading this book, I haven't tried any of the recipes in it yet. But there are a lot of yummy looking things in here that I will definitely be giving a try. And lucky for me, this book was a Xmas gift from my Auntie Jenny, and she put post-its on her fave recipes with notes on how she modded them. What an awesome thing :)
