I love fantasy, adventure, and magic. More than that, I adore my readers.
My books are written to entertain -- fantasy adventures filled with compelling characters, spectacular magic, thrilling action, constant intrigue, and a sense of discovery. I equate them to the "Marvel Movie" version of fiction, intended to be a fun escape.
I would love to have you join me and my quirky characters for one outrageous adventure after another. With over a million published words, my author journey has just begun.
Best wishes, Jeff

Fate of Wizardoms Books 1-3 (Fate of Wizardoms #1-3) by Jeffrey L. Kohanek Narration by Travis Baldree
I got this trilogy off Chirp and Travis Baldree was the narrator and he is always so good! The book itself is wonderful! What a true, old fashioned fantasy should be! Combine the two, narration and story, equals hours of fun!
The story is centered around a their but he has others around him although he claims to work alone he seems to always be with someone. The cast of characters are truly delightful! A dwarf, acrobat, strongman/swordsman, a storyteller, a Princess, her female guard, and a couple more.
I loved each story! There was plenty of action, adventure, creatures, humor, great dialogue, fun interactions, evil bad guys to hate, magic, and intrigue! Gruesome in spots and funny in spots! Will keep an eye out for more sales for the rest of the series!
5 daring stars for an epic fantasy adventure filled with magic, intrigue, schemes, and betrayal.
1,000 pages of magic, intrigue, & adventure, where wizards rule and magic reigns supreme. Several threads of separate misfits from completely different backgrounds are masterfully woven together into an irresistible tale full of magic, adventure and heart! Heartbreaking at times and uplifting at others, this riveting tale has all the marks of a fabulous read.
While Eye of Obscurance is more daring action and adventure the likes of Six of Crows, the sequels change the note and slowly but surely turn the tale into an epic fantasy perfect for fans of Wheel of Time or Riyria Chronicles.
I loved the take on magic, as well as the conundrum it raises. 'Perhaps men lose their humanity, squeezed by human suffering on one side and the lure of unlimited unchallenged power on the other.'
The intricacies of the plot are top notch and the reveals.... - talk about a solid punch you didn't see coming. Most of them are the 'Holy frigging shirt!- type'. And then there is that attention to detail and masterful intricacy that this author pulls like a charm. From word-building to pace, from darkness to light, everything is beautifully balanced. The tension is masterfully softened whenever it becomes too much, with a bit of light banter or chuckle worthy moments.
There is something about Jeffrey L. Kohanek's writing that makes you forget the world around you, and get lost within the pages of his tale.
The Fate of Wizardoms is an engaging epic fantasy series with something for every single reader out there. Wonderful wordbuilding, an ingenious magic system, beautifully crafted characters, great mystery and intrigue, witty banter and fun filled adventure, as well as dash of romance.
It is a wonderful and gripping tale that I highly recommend to all fantasy lovers out there.

Totally enchanted with this epic and riveting story. The characters are well made with good and evil, plenty of action, betrayals, romance, magic and mythic creatures and people. Well worth reading. It is as good as reading Tolkien. I cannot wait to read the next 3 books in this series!
Once again, Jeffrey Kohanek has knocked it out of the park with the first book in his latest series. The characters are very unique and really interesting, and the story itself is unlike any other I have read. I can’t wait to read the next one!
Jerrell the best thief in Fastella is hired to find an amulet but he must take a warrior with him to destroy the monster that defends the castle where the amulet lies. Noone has ever been able to do this and even Jerrel may have hisnhands full. Good reading
Wow what a beginning to a new series by this talented writer of many other books. These characters and the plot are absolutely intriguing. Don’t miss out.
When I started the trilogy I was intrigued. As I read through the books I realized that I had discovered something really unique, enjoyable and reminiscent of Tolkien. Seriously, hard to put down, can't wait for the next book!
What a ride with many characters and plots. This story keeps your attention. The author is so good at weaving a story actually many stories into one. Cannot wait to read as the adventure continues
Eye of Obscurance (Book 1) by Jeffrey L. Kohanek has captivating characters, wonderful world-building, plenty of action, and is an entertaining read! I easily lose interest if there are too many people to follow, but this story held my attention and it was neat to see how they all fit into the climax.
Balance of Magic (Book 2) is another exciting story! This time I listened to the audiobook. It's a lot of fun listening to Travis Baldree narrate the story and he doesn't exaggerate the different voices, which I find can be jarring. On the other hand, some of the voices (especially belonging to the female characters) are almost the same. I still think he does a fabulous job with such a big cast of characters. It helps that the author writes descriptively with just enough information, so it's easy to identify who is talking and who is thinking to themselves even with the different scene changes and varying points of view.
The adventure continues in Temple of the Oracle (Book 3). Jeffrey L. Kohanek does great world-building and creates wonderful characters. There's Jerrell aka Jace (the thief), Narine (the princess and master wizardess), Adyn (Narine's bodyguard), Rhoa (the acrobat), Rawk (the stone-shaper dwarf), Brogan (a retired soldier), and Blythe (the archer). I'm interested to find out more about Princess Priella. Is she going to be one of the good guys or a bad guy? What about our storyteller, Salvon the Great?
Usually, the pacing is good, but I did find that things slowed down at Kelmar when our heroes are helping the sisters at the temple to understand the oracle. I listened to the audiobook. Travis Baldree does an excellent job narrating the voices of all the different characters. Whether you grab the audiobooks or read them yourself, this epic fantasy series has everything to keep your attention.
I read an ARC for Book 1 and received Audible codes for Books 2 and 3. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I am loving this series. Jeffrey Kohanek did a wonderful job creating a story full of Magic, Betrayal, Friendship, Courage & Humor.
Eye of Obscurance The first book jumps right into the adventure. Two different thieves trying to steal the same item. Only 1 of them got the item but they both had very good reasons for wanting it. One has to pursue the other to get it back. They end up working together to achieve the outcomes they want. Along the way they add others to their group as they progress. The story is full of humor as well so it will make you chuckle. A great story & a must read. Jeffrey goes on the favorite author list.
Balance of Magic Now a Wizard Lord is dead & the evil behind the scenes is pre-paring to strike. Betrayal is just the beginning for all those who are about to experience the change of power. The story is intense and funny. Great characters that will make you love or hate them.
Temple of the Oracle By book #3 the characters have all faced many foes and fought epic battles. They have laughed, fought & cried together. They have all grown in strength and compassion. They have all learned to work together and after living with the seers they will divide into 2 groups and carry on with the journey. I can't wait for books 4 - 6.
I have read the 3 books in this boxed set and reviewed each one separately however I highly recommend this set to all readers of epic fantasy who enjoy great sword and sorcery scenes, and who like to see the abusers of power toppled by commoners as happens in this series. Our group of young heroes go up against the great powers that be and in this case it is not Kings and Queens who rule the kingdoms, but great and High Wizards who all rival one another and do not stop at anything to further their own power and leadership. A thrilling read from start to finish and through this boxed set readers are lucky as they can read right through the first three books without stopping and believe me you won't want to stop once you start reading.
I received this audiobook for free in return for an honest review.
Both the story and narration were excellent for this. I greatly enjoyed this three book arc. All of the stories were excellent and flowed well together.
Travis B. is a great narrator, great voice range, well paced.
Mr. Kohanek is an excellent author. Great style, good pacing, well written.
This is an amazing fantasy adventure series well worth my time. I read each one individually but to be able to get as a boxed set is a gift not to be ignored. No spoilers from me but it’s a wizards delicious tale. Highly recommended.
This is a Excellent Series and though I listened to it instead of reading it. I Have to tell you people looking for a Great Story to get into this is one you will love. Wounderful Characters and Storyline, Worldbuilding, & Pagetuner.
I enjoyed this book immensely. A great storyline. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. Characters are complex and quite ingenious. I figured out the true 'bad guy ' Will see if I am correct when the rest of the books come out. Enjpy.
A really wonderful series with well-written characters and world building. I had no problems reading each story one after the other, in truth I had a hard time putting them down. All in all an engaging, fascinating series that I enjoyed immensely.
How could I resist a fantasy narrated by Travis Baldree! So yeah I immediately snatched up the audiobook book. It did not disappoint either although it started out a little slower than I like, there was actually a few more characters that we needed to get to know. Basically there were two MC's, Roa an acrobat with a bone to pick and Jase a thief with a contract to fill. But there was more that ended up in their merry band too. Like Nareen the wizard princess, and Adin her guard, Salvon the storyteller, and Rokabon the exile. Call it fate if you will, but some had connections and well the others made connections as their friendship grew.
Book 2 Balance of Magic
Again the book wasn't quite to my liking... There wasn't as much of Jase and Roa as I would have wanted. In fact due to circumstances the merry band formed in the first book was broken in two. And seemingly it took half a book before they got back together again. Whereupon the books pacing got better. But at least there's a Dragon, so that's something.
Book 3 Temple of the Oracle
Temple of the Oracle has it's ups and downs with pacing. Up until they head into the frozen forest it's pretty tight, but then it starts slowing down and by the time they reach the Temple the pacing slows down to a crawl! It does pickup in the last couple of hours as they hafta fight the goblin horde including several goblin shaman... Grab the boxed set if you're into fantasy, wizard's, dwarfs, goblins, and dragons! And Travis Baldree can do no wrong!
Epic fantasy isn't my go-to genre. I'm more of a contemporary gal. I hate having to keep track of all the different names and story threads, and the stories themselves tend to drag on and onnnn. But Mr. Kohanek has such a flair for storytelling, easily weaving all of the colorful threads into a rich tapestry of swords and sorcery, heroes and high wizards, witty banter, eye-popping reveals, and even a dash of romance! I was not bored - and that's saying a lot for me.
These books, in my mind, have earned their place with my other high-fantasy exceptions: Tolkein, Jordan, Sanderson, and Rothfuss.
I like the world the author made and the characters. The chemistry between couples is apparent and the friendships feel natural. There are wizards that rule, but a hierarchy between them. As usual with power, someone(s) always want more. The author provides enough backstory for the characters "in the moment" to give understanding of their actions. As for the main characters they are written well with human flaws to make them feel even more real. I enjoy the various supernatural groups and how they are introduced into the storyline. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
This is a work of art. The wonder of this world leaves you satisfied and yet longing for more. I loved reading these and fell in love with This and Rawk
I was very riveted to this story. It goes on and on very entertaining. I was sometimes confused who was who with the characters but after a while I would get back on track. I would highly recommend the books to everyone who likes fantasy stories.
A 5 star treat for the fantasy genre fan! This box set is well written, has structured story lines that start off slow and take off at around 7% of the box set for a whirl wind story of courage, perseverance and growth in each character that is very relatable to! Definitely recommend for an engaging read!!
I began with book one getting into the characters and was wondering where they were all going to go. Soon the story line settled in and swept me along for the ride. Gotta go now, book four is waiting!!
I was hooked from the minute the hero shows up dressed as a woman. Everything about this trilogy hooked me...from the betrayal, to the romance, to the suspense.
