Pillsbury
577 books10 followersPillsbury is a brand name used by Minneapolis-based General Mills and Orrville, Ohio-based J.M. Smucker Company. Historically, the Pillsbury Company, also based in Minneapolis, was a rival company to General Mills and was one of the world's largest producers of grain and other foodstuffs until it was bought out by General Mills in 2001. Antitrust law required General Mills to sell off some of the products. General Mills kept the rights to refrigerated and frozen Pillsbury products, while dry baking products and frosting are now sold by Smucker under license.

A Wonderful Collection of Prizewinning Desserts
Pillsbury Best Of The Bake-Off Desserts is a delightful collection for anyone who enjoys baking and appreciates tried-and-loved dessert recipes. Bringing together more than 100 recipes from decades of the famous Bake-Off contest, this cookbook has a wonderful sense of variety and tradition.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this collection is how many different kinds of desserts it brings together. There is plenty of inspiration for everyday baking as well as recipes that feel special enough to share with family and friends. The selection makes it easy to browse through the book and discover something new whenever a sweet craving strikes.
The connection to the Pillsbury Bake-Off also gives the book a charming character. These recipes represent the creativity of home bakers and offer a nice glimpse into the kinds of desserts that have captured people's attention over the years. It feels both nostalgic and practical, making it enjoyable for longtime baking enthusiasts as well as readers discovering these recipes for the first time.
Overall, this is a great cookbook to have on hand when you want dependable dessert inspiration. The generous selection, classic appeal, and variety make it a fun addition to any baking collection.

These are desserts so they are not about 1) eating healthily, 2) controlling caloric intake 3) watching carbs, fat and cholesterol! On the other hand... the pictures are lovely, the ideas behind the recipes are tempting and desserts are not really for everyday anyway. So it will take a while to try out those I'd like to taste. THe one disappointment is that many of the cake recipes call for a cake mix.

So far I really like this recipe book. Really easy recipes, common ingrediants, and the first one I've tried turned out being pretty tasty. Lots of pictures (but there isn't a picture for each recipe), and glossy pages.

Bunch of great recipes. Just wish not so many of them included pre-made items.
