Dog Town #7
Yours and Mine in Dog Town
One mysterious and accidental pregnancy. Two people trying to do the right thing. Can they all survive unexpected puppies? Petunia is a vivacious dog who’s supported her owner, Sasha, through heartbreak and the transition to life in Dorset Hills. But the sweet spaniel unleashes a shocking surprise at the grand opening of Sasha’s new grooming “Tuni” is unexpectedly expecting. Accidental puppies send the wrong message in Dog Town—a careless owner message. It’s the kind of thing that could destroy a new groomer’s reputation. Setting out to find the mysterious puppy-daddy, Sasha desperately hopes it’s not the neighborhood’s brawny bulldog. The canine Casanova’s arrogant—and annoyingly appealing—owner isn’t the only one flouting Dog Town’s neuter policy but he’s a likely suspect. As Tuni expands, Sasha’s prospects shrink. With the City investigating her shop, it’s enough to make her question her decision to move to Dog Town in the first place. Will the Valentine’s Day gala and Tuni's delivery crush her business completely or bring her the second chance she deserves? If you love dogs, humor and romance with your mysteries, Book 6 in this heartwarming series for animal lovers will pull you right back into the quirky Dog Town world. You won’t want to leave till you finish the COMPLETE series of 11 books.

Sasha Wildwood is new in Dog Town. She's eager to prove herself as a unique dog groomer. Unfortunately, her passion for creating cute and fluffy Muppet-inspired designs gets her fired. It also earns her some new friends from the Rescue Mafia. In exchange for helping them with a last minute grooming that got Sasha fired, they help Sasha set up her own grooming studio. She's super busy trying to get her business off the ground but has run afoul of a grumpy English Bulldog owner who wants to tell her something about her dog. Sasha's beloved Petunia is just getting her energy back after being sick with a viral infection that nearly killed her. Tunie is everything to Sasha now that her guy took off leaving Sasha down and out. Sasha is delighted to have Tunie as her shop spokesdog but when she discovers a shocking surprise about her baby, she learns she has to keep it a secret or risk losing her baby. Then the Canine Corrections Department comes calling for some reason and it's up to Sasha and her new friends to figure out what's going on and beat them at their own game.
This one is more romance than mystery. When the "mystery" part finally happens, it was pretty obvious who the tattle tale was. The romance seemed really improbable and quick to me but it was sweet and funny.
I love Sasha! She's fierce! She loves dogs with a passion and wants them to look and feel their best. She stands up for herself time and again. She says she's only just finding her voice now since her ex left. To be fair to him, she didn't TELL him the truth about how she was feeling. Sasha is a good mom to a high energy pup. Tunie is about a year. She's a big dog in a small package and needs lots of attention and space to run around or she'll run away. Running away gets her into big trouble. I agree with the vet that Sasha is anthropomorphizing and also projecting her own feelings about her experience onto her dog.
Mildred is not a good business owner. She is set in her ways and has lost her people skills. She stands with the old guard and doesn't understand or care for the new. Why and how can you run a business ignoring what your clients ask for? That's terrible. She's snippy, snooty and totally rude. Millie's comments about rescue dogs are uncalled for and Millie has a vendetta against Sasha just because Sasha is younger, newer and knows better know to please the new guard.
The Rescue Mafia is out in force in this novel. I adore Cori and her passion for rescue. Don't give in to the love bug. It was nice to see Remi happy with her man and not clutching Leo like a security blanket. She allows Sasha to hold him and benefit from his warmth. Another ally for Sasha is Bartholomew Barnes, an unhoused man with a beloved crossbreed dog, Puck. He seems to come from a top family and is still close to them. He understands how the political situation in town works and tries to help Sasha navigate the tricky waters.
Griffin Granger is a bald, tattooed guy who can't wait to leave Dog Town with his bulldog, Grover. Grover is adorable! He LOVES Sasha and was delighted by the New Year's Eve costume, bowtie and nail polish she put on him. Grover is always wiggling and sniffing at Sasha. He's a sweetie. His human, Griffin is not as charming. He's gruff, hot tempered and tries too hard to be macho. He projects his masculinity onto his dog who only cares to be spoken to kindly and treated well.
Carole owned the shop before Sasha. It was her hair salon for humans that earned her money and gave her something to do until her Yorkshire Terrier, Caesar, tripped her. Yorkies are not generally nasty but Caesar needs Cori's training program ASAP or someone is going to get hurt and he'll be taken away. Carole seems nice but I think she regrets letting her shop go. Officer Crump from the Canine Corrections Department seems nice on the surface but he's too nice. He's withholding his motive for snooping around and is a little too slick. He's cut from the same mold as the mayor and probably is just as ambitious.
This is one of the better entries in the series and one of the more charming ones. I have a few more left to read and will probably reread some of the others as well.

Who's the daddy?
A light fun read that will certainly keep your interest. Wonderful rounded characters from the scheming Bart to the never say die heroine.
She's just finished her retraining as a groomer but doing what she feels (and what some owners feel) is right gets her fired. However the Rescue Mafia come to the rescue and find her premises where she can set up her own business. Her dog however has a mind of her own and ends up pregnant. Throw in new bylaws, someone spying on her, a concentrated effort to make her business fail, getting adopted by the members of the Rescue Mafia, a fairy godfather, a handsome carpenter (who she first thinks of as a thug) and trying to find out 'who's the daddy'. A terrific read but I wish the mayor would get his just desserts!

I love Dog Town more and more after each story I read!
Sasha is a new resident of Dog Town and after a couple of mishaps at her job, she ends up being the new owner of The Model Dog, a dog grooming salon. Of course, this only happens with the help of the Rescue Mafia. Whenever they get involved in something, I end up laughing. I would definitely want to be friends with them and share in their adventures.
Now Sasha has to figure out who got her precious dog, Petunia, pregnant, as unwanted puppies is bad publicity in Dog Town.
Yours and Mine in Dog Town is a clean romance with lots of laughs.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Sandy Rideout has given us another winner with Yours and Mine in Dog Town. I loved Sasha’s story. She may not have lived in Dog Town for years, but she sure can make the right friends. I absolutely loved Bart’s character. If you’re looking for a feel good story about friends coming together in your time of need, this book nails it. Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love Tuni and read about the characters we’ve fallen for in the previous books. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Yours and Mine in Dog Town is the latest book in the Dog Town Series but it can be read as a stand-alone. I do recommend that the previous books are read to fully appreciate and understand the crazy, ridiculous and controlling Dog Town politics. This is good, funny and well written book with fabulous, colourful characters and wonderful dogs of all shapes and sizes. I enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

Yours and Mine in Dog Town made me laugh. I had it figured out from the start. In my opinion it's slow moving, I'm not sure why. Since book 1 the mayor thing is just too drawn out. I would think there are other things behind things in Dog Town. I liked Sasha and how she didn't give up on finding the culprit. I liked how Sasha and Griffin set aside their differences. I read in Mischief in Dog Town - The Complete Series (Dog Town #0-9).

hold on to your sides
You won’t know whether to laugh at the outlandish behavior of the humans or squeeze a pillow to death because you want to give them a piece of your mind. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Another wonderful book in the series!

The plots are getting a little odd. When a dog has to be sent away for getting pregnant, if seems a little tongue-in-cheek.

Entertaining story
Only if Dog Town do they try to control all aspects of dog ownership. A female must be spayed and a mail neutered otherwise they can be seized.
