Terror in the Shadows: Volume 7

Rate this book
The shadows have returned, and they hunger for your fear...

An innocent invitation traps a door-to-door salesman in a hellish nightmare. A man develops an unhealthy obsession with arachnids. And a woman with blood on her hands spirals into the darkest depths of madness and guilt…

Scare Street’s horror authors present thirteen tales of supernatural horror in one macabre collection. From a lonely forest trail, to a spider-infested hellhole, each diabolical story brings you face to face with your deepest fears.

But whatever you do, don’t make a sound. Because with every turn of the page, the shadows come closer. And if you gasp in fear, or squeal in horror…

It just may be the last sound you ever make.

An Amazing Episode

“It’s time to cross the veil once again, and journey into the underworld. Strange cries echo through the misty fog, and the moon hangs low beyond the gnarled trees. The spirits have come to welcome you back to the shadows.”

This is one series that I am extremely happy with. Each story is pre-ordered at just .99cents.

The “usual suspects” are all here, so are the usual great stories that I’ve come to expect from them and this series.

Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to read this book and others like it. 👍🏽

I enjoyed this collection of stories. As usual, the offerings from the Scare Street crew are varied and well written. I was a bit disappointed by one offering from Mr Ripley, however. There is a story involving a phone call and a trip to an area that is very reminiscent of a story in Terror In The Shadows book 6 (again by Mr Ripley), with an almost identical plot - I appreciate that I have just read both volumes back to back, but this was just too deja vu for me.

Also, there is a mention of the book 'Paradise Lost' by Dante in a library. It is never made clear if this is a deliberate 'mistake' as this book comes into play with a specific use, but I found it mildly irritating having read both 'Paradise Lost' by John Milton and 'Paradise' by Dante (The Divine Comedy book 3). I read the notes after the book was finished, but the authors never mentioned if this was actually done on purpose.

This aside, another great horror compilation from a great team and worth spending your time with for a quick horror fix.

I'm a huge fan of the scare street authors and their individual books and as usual they didn't disappoint with this next installment . Every story is always well written these stories were even a little creepy which is what you want in a good horror.

Having read all of these collections to date, I have to say that this is the best one so far. The story "Flies" stands out in particular to this arachnophobe. There is a wide variety of nasties here, not just ghosts.
Scare Street has some of the best horror writers alive. While some of their work becomes a bit formulaic, they always deliver the goods. These are the "don't read alone in the dark" kinds of stories often advertised but not always as described. This is the real deal.

Terror Vol 7

Overall this book was great. I felt two of the stories were a little boring and predictable but the others were well written and held my interest to the end. The stories all flowed easily and were well written. The two I didn't find interesting were also well written, just not my cup of tea.
