AN INCREDIBLY SWEET JOURNEY!!!
Heart pounding wonder! Kenna brought the magic with all the drama, intrigue and suspense that hurl this baby to life beautifully. Man, talk about bringing out the big guns with this incredible spellbinding delight. This gem hooks you from the start and reels in for the duration. Skillfully laying this baby out with such sincerity and passion it blew me away. Pushing onward through the ups and downs, trying to discover the highways and by-ways in search of the illusive of hope and love. Dealing with the trials and tribulations along with an intense storyline and swirling plot propel those blazing emotions, melding this jewel together piece by piece. Scenes, characters, location, dynamics and details are written with such realism there's no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play out propelling this baby to life colorfully. Their personalities are well matched as the revelations and speculations blend and flow. Fantastic job Kenna, thanks for sharing this baby with us.

I loved the story of Amelia. The adventure begins with Amelia having to find a way to support herself and her mother when her father was taken to Debtor's Prison. There were not many things a lady could do to earn a proper living. She was happy to discover that a Lady was looking for a companion. That was a lovely occupation that she could do and would then earn enough to support herself and her mother. The cottage that she and her mother would be renting was on their land. It was in that job that she met Laird James. Jamie and his best friend William made a bet as to how long and how she would fall in love with him. Jamie did not realize that something like that bet could come back to haunt him later on. The story has many twists and turns, even an evil villain came into the mix. I loved the story with all its twists. The best part by far was how the evil cousin got his just desserts. The story explores the play of emotions of Jamie and Amelia as their love grows and blossoms. A very good read for sure.

One Hot As Sin Scot + One Sassy English Lass = Excellent Read

Amelia's life has been thrown in utter turmoil. Her father has been arrested, her fiancee leaves and she and her have to escape to the Scottish Highlands. Once there, Amelia applies to become a companion for the mother Laird Jamie Kinnaird. Once they met, sparks begin to fly and the ride takes off at full speed.
Ms. Kendrick has delivered a fabulous historical romance. The story line is quick, witty and fantastic. Our main characters are fabulous and I really wish I could meet them. Their romance is a fast burn with a very satisfying HEA ending. Also, I would recommend reading the EXTENDED epilogue. It ties everything together and I hope it is a sneak peek of her second book in this series.
If you are fan of the Outlander series, than this book is definitely for you!!

Another great read from Kenna Kendrick!
Just goes to show that life can throw a nasty wrench in all your plans ! In this case a lovable but unlucky gambling father!
Follow Amelia's saga as she goes from society miss , engaged to marry a peer, to fleeing to the Highlands where her life begins anew and a new romance with a man who just entices, infuriates and charms her no end.
And let's not forget a meddlesome evil sibling decides to wreak havoc on Amelia and Jamie!
Love Kenna's books , and aside from my life interfering in my timely reading , this was another book well worth you, fellow readers, taking the time to enjoy!

Amelia is distraught by her father gambling and sent to debtor's prison but the breaking of her betrothal has her thinking how men are such scoundrels. When she and her mother arrive in Scotland and she meets Laird James for the first time, she believes that he's just another such bounder.
Amelia innocently gets caught up in his cousin Donald's scheme to become Laird and is saved from the fate of marrying him by her friend Marianne going to inform Jamie as to what is happening. Amelia's only thought had been to get enough money 💰to free her father and reunite her parents.

Romance, suspense, humor. An English family in trouble. Father in prison for gambling away all their money. Mother and daughter forced to leave there home for a small Scottish cottage. Daughter will need to support them d/t Mother's illness. Enter next a Scottish laird, his Mother, and a villainous cousin.
It's like a soap opera in early Scotland. You can get involved in character's lives and keep turning pages to see what will happen. First half a little slow but picks up in second half.
Three or four love scenes if you like that. If not, skip them like I do. Happy reading.

Another great read by Kenna Kendrick who once again delivers! She does a fantastic job developing her characters and story line and brings it to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She takes you back to Medieval times and makes you feel as though you are there. She brings drama and intrigue,suspense and danger twists and turns along with a beautiful romance. The story flows fluidly and had me hooked from start to finish reading. I loved and highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book due to the wonderful characters. I easily could feel the emotions expressed that they were each going through. I also liked that the Highlander males are a bit more brash then the women from London. I thought their first encounter was very funny! I was definitely laughing out loud!

Lovely story

This book has a beautiful storyline,is well written and very entertaining. It has drama, danger, twists and turns, suspense and romance. I loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.

The story is well thoughtout and the plot is enjoyable. I would recommend it as a good read. The book needs to be proofed better as words run togather in places, extra words are inserted, mispelled, some I could not figure out what were. The plot was worth the read.

Very good book. I love the action in this story and there was some very sad spots in here as well. There was a couple of places that dragged a bit for me but overall a very good book.

I really loved this book, the descriptions were so detailed that it was as if you were right there with the character's in the story. My only disappointment was that I finished the book to fast.😉

I struggled to even finish this one. It had a predictable, and nonsensical plot. The villain's plan/plot was unbelievably weak and could have easily been thwarted had the characters not been such morons. Amelia especially made my blood boil. Her decision making was absolutely ridiculous and the way she'd actively convince herself that her stupid decisions were the right ones, just to suit her own goal, it was beyond annoying. For a seemingly "smart and educated" lady, she was a naive idiot.
Jamie, he felt so two-dimensional. His past is only brought up in idle conversation, never once divulging deeper into how these traumatic events affected him in the present. He had nothing really going for him other than arrogance.
Marianne and William's heavy involvement in the first novel makes the second installment less exciting for me to want to read. They've already met and exchanged heated flirtations. So much so, that it feels like nothing is left to include in the second novel, apart from the glaringly obvious hurdle they will have to jump that's already been eluded to.
Not to mention, the grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and plot holes were too many to count. The characters would flip-flop very easily, going against their previous claims, only to make it convenient in forcing a happy outcome.
I'm disappointed that Cobalt Fairy seems completely disinterested in substance, not to mention, their notoriety for accepting completely unedited manuscripts and never bothering to correct them. Not medieval
First of all, the title on Amazon is incorrect... This is not a medieval romance, its set in the 1700s. The English have muskets, for goodness sakes! I wouldn't mark down the book for this alone, since it is probably a publisher marketing issue and not the author's fault, but that was hardly my only trouble with this one.
At first the book seemed fine. Nothing amazing, but readable. But then the heroine got mad, which somehow made her TSTL. She signed a contract without reading it when a) the person couldn't have had the proper terms when it was written since he only knew of her motivation moments earlier, and b) has already been established as a slimy sort. Signing without reading is bad enough, but anger shouldn't make a person so blind as to lose a sense of survival.
At this point, the plot slowly devolves to complete ridiculous levels. Slimy Don becomes an awful caricature. She gets a new contract she actually reads this time, doesn't like terms, but still plans to sign it?!? She has to get rescued by her big strong man to not get stuck with that mistake (ugh). And by the end I was just skimming to get the high points so I would make sure it as as uninteresting as I suspected.

Worth the Wait
When two people meet and sparks fly for political, emotional and ethical reasons there needs to be an investigation into the whys and wherefors. The hero comes with baggage as does the lass who sparks his "interest." She has her standards, spirit and stamina to endure this challenge. How she awakens his better nature is intriguing, even if she's not exactly planning to capture his "interest" with her own. Any fireman will tell you it is the sparks that ignite more fire...thus it is within this great and fast-paced read. Enjoy!

Kenna does a excellent job with this book. She creates characters that are easy to relate to. Amelia feels ashamed of what her father has done to her family. Jamie is quite the character. He has many values that we can relate to that are positive. He has a love of family that runs deep. I love the way Kenna weaves this story. There is alot of action in this story as well as some intimacy. She draws the characters closer together as friends and family as the story progresses. I like how the characters are able to admit their mistakes in most cases. It's a great story to read. J

Jamie & Amelia !!!
I have enjoyed Amelia and Jamie's story both falling in love and not being aware of Cupid striking his arrow. All the characters are well written also the plot. Cousin Donald gave me plenty of laughs I hope to see more of him 😊, anyway this is a very good read looking forward to the next story in this series.

Short and sweet
A romance story that I knew what was going to happen almost immediately. But if you are,a sucker for romances it is sweet. I didn't feel much of the history in the book. The romance is more for adults because there is graphic sex.

Entertaining Read!
I really enjoyed the banter between Jaime and Amelia.
What could be improved is the dialogue. It seemed to get confused with the written accents. English vs Scottish. The English accents started to have some aspects of the Scottish which it did not start out with.
Also, some of the more dramatic scenes seemed anticlimactic.
Other than that, I enjoyed the story line.

I would definitely give 5 star for this lovely book. I enjoyed all the naughty dialogues and teases. Indeed a lovely adventure.
