’Tis the season for falling snow and falling stars... but falling in love?
George, Viscount Hexham, is quite literally thunderstruck when he meets Lady Anne in the park, and he can’t get her off his mind. Her brother, Gabe, is happy to act as a matchmaker, never once mentioning he might already be acting on behalf of the other side. Can two who are so perfectly matched end up married before Anne must endure her first Season in London?
Meanwhile, when a neighbor appears to be spying on George’s twin sister through the telescope in his garden observatory, an incensed Lady Angelica is determined to give him a piece of her mind. Sir Benjamin may end up with her heart as well, as mistletoe and moonlight work their magic in The Angel of an Astronomer.

Series: The Heirs of the Aristocracy #1 Publication Date: 2/21/20 Number of Pages: 330
What a delightfully entertaining and romantic romp through early Victorian England this was. It left me with a smile, a giggle, and a heartfelt sigh. It flows smoothly, is well-plotted and the characters are delightful. We get two lovely romances and two HEA’s in one book – how can you beat that? One of my favorite things was getting to visit with Milton Grandby, Earl of Torrington who has been featured in many of this author's books. Milton was featured in his own book, The Christmas of A Countess, along with his lovely bride Adele. Now, over twenty years later, we get to see their twins marry. How lovely is that? The devious Milton has plans afoot to settle his children and the last of his many godchildren and it was so much fun to see all of his machinations fall right into place.
George Grandby is one and twenty, and unlike most of his peers, he is ready to marry. His parents were older when they married and George doesn’t want that for himself. He has no clue who he will marry – until – one day while riding in the park with his sister, he sees an absolute vision. He stares, open-mouthed and watches her until she is out of sight. That is it for him, he is smitten!
Lady Anne Wellingham, daughter of the Earl of Trenton (My Fair Groom), is just shy of her eighteenth birthday. She’s supposed to be preparing for her first season, but she just isn’t interested. She wants to marry – now – and she wants to have a child. As soon as she sees George Grandby in the park, she knows he is the one for her.
Lady Angelica (Angel) Grandby, twin sister of George Grandby, hasn’t ever seriously given marriage a thought. She has wondered why she hasn’t received any offers during her previous seasons, but never thought much about it – and then she discovered that it was because her father was discouraging them. She knows her father has a man in mind for her to marry, but, well, she’s sure he’s old and, while she’s willing to meet him, she doubts she’ll be interested.
Sir Benjamin (Ben) Fulton has just completed building his observatory in his back yard. When he arrives at the train station to pick up his new telescope, he sees an absolute vision – an angel – and he is intrigued. However, she is the daughter of an earl and he is a lowly Sir – even though he will most likely inherit an earldom from his brother who has sired nothing but girls. When that same angel comes stomping into his observatory accusing him of being a Peeping Tom, that is it for him – he is totally smitten.
This was a totally happy, romantic, and witty read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. There is no page-after-page of angst, no conflict, no villains, just happy, loving people with loving parents finding their own loving relationships. What a welcome change of pace!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My review :
When twins find love, will they follow their heart ...
This was my first book by Mrs Linda Rae Sande, but the enthusiastic review by Flippin’Pages built my desire to read this one. It was like in a soap opera, plenty forays in the lives of the many protagonists and their different points of view, different romances, two in the making plus those already in motion. There is no villain in this story, only the limitations society and conventions put on the protagonists path and the many characters taking charge of their lives and going for what they want. Two romances unfold at the same time with a bit of push by their matchmakers of parents. For George and Anne it is love at first sight, they have no doubts about what they are looking for. But as they are very young, Anne has not yet had her come-out and at 21, George is considered too as very youthful to be married but he refuses to follow his father’s step, married after his forties. Luckily for them , they have their own guardian angels, and everyone will play its role to help them. Angelina, George’s twin, has not yet meet the proper person for her, and she is not sure her decided father’s interference is the right thing for her. He discouraged suitors and now has one in mind. She was not very happy with her father’s choice, even less when upon a misunderstanding she encounters her new neighbor, a man who intrigues her. Ben has given up the idea of marriage as he is well aware that a second son, he will never has the means to entertain a wife with style. Yet the girl’s next door is very tempting and even better a heiress in own right. Their relationship evolves rapidly as they are attracted to one another but while Ben knows where he is going, and Angelina looks the same way, by withholding an important information, he plays a rather dangerous game.
George and Anne romance is sweet but with no doubt about the outcome, why I rooted probably more for Angelina and Ben, even if there is no mystery to the result, there is a little bit more of action and suspense. 4.5 stars for a charming and delightful read with plural love stories intercrossing.
I was granted an advance copy by the author and preordered my own. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.
so... i didnt like this one.. it did have good parts for those who would enjoy this genre.. but for me i was all confused... i couldnt follow the characters half the time.. it just lost me over and over and it just wasnt my thing. that being said im sure others would love it

The book has a lot of characters and several plot lines, and most of them have somewhat similar names, which doesn't help. We have Anne and Angelica, then George and Gabe. I had to go back and re-read some parts to figure out who was who.
Other than the author writing about two romances with the main characters being two sets of brother and sisters with similar names I really enjoyed the book, which is humorous at times.
No conflict, easy read novella with two couples. I focused on the romance about an astronomer and ditzy but amusing heroine. The topic made it refreshing enough to ignore the somewhat crowded characters and backstories.
In this light-hearted Regency romance, more than one love story is told. At first, I found the number of characters introduced a little confusing but as the novel ensued, it all panned out. This book is well written and entertaining with a good dose of romance as two young couples seek their happily ever after.
On her way to London, Lady Angelica discovers from her twin brother that she is being set up by her meddling father to marry a man she has never met. Reluctantly she agrees with her brother to host a dinner party where she will meet him and make her decision. Shortly after arriving in London, George and Angelica take a ride in the park and come across Lady Anne and her brother. If the measure of love at first sight is an electrical charge, George gets that as a clap of thunder shakes the earth. Lady Anne would rather avoid a season altogether, not wanting to participate in the competition, gossip and backbiting that inevitably comes with the marriage mart. Despite George's youth, he has a good head on his shoulders, and when Gabe whispers in his ear that Anne wants to marry as soon as possible, George immediately springs into action.
On the first night in London, what she thought was a peeping tom, has her marching next door to their new neighbour to give him a tongue lashing. Sir Benjamin Fulton is delighted with his new telescope and as he surveys the planets in his new observatory, he is surprised by the sharp tongue of a beautiful woman accusing him of nefarious deeds. Inadvertently he introduces himself by his given name and leads Angelica to believe that he is without a title. A delightful romance ensues as the couple gets to know each other through the lens of a telescope, but unfortunately at some point, the truth has to be told.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel with its quirky humour, witty exchange and entrancing characters. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Viscount Hexham, George Grandby, wants to wed and have the same marriage like his parents. He is just twenty-one but he does not want to run around town drinking and gambling. He takes an early seat in Parliament and needs his wits about him. He and sister were enjoying a ride around Hyde Park in the winter. There was hardly anyone in the park. But then he noticed a curricle, with a young lady that took his breath away. Lady Anne Wellingham, the daughter of the Earl of Trenton, was out for a ride with her brother. She was introduced to Hexham. Lady Anne so wanted children and her own home. She was ready to get started. Lady Angelica Grandby, daughter of the Earl of Torrington, was a twin. Her brother, George was the heir. George needed a hostess so she had accompanied him. He was to get his writ of acceleration. He was to take his father's seat so the earl can retire. His father had arranged a meeting for Angelica with Sir Benjamin Fulton. His older brother got the title and he had four girls so Ben was the heir. Sir Ben Fulton received a knighthood for discovering a comet. He bought a place in London and had an observatory built for his telescope. I very much enjoyed the story. It was about two couples and their families. It was witty, at times funny but always sweet. The characters were wonderful and full-bodied. The plot was strong and well written. The bantering between the couples and their siblings was great. It was an entertaining tale and kept your attention. Well worth the time to read and I highly recommend it. I received this ARC from Candid Book Reviews and voluntarily reviewed the book.

The Angel of an Astronomer (The Heirs of the Aristocracy #1) by Linda Rae Sande Reviewed for Candid Book Reviews
Sande proves that a conversation of the heart is the most beautiful song that anyone can write. The Angel of an Astronomer plays an unpredictable melody that haunted me from beginning to end. Love at first sight takes emotions on a delightful serenade that stirred up heart tingles in my soul. My heart never ceases to feel a little lighter and my smile a whole lot wider after reading Linda Rae Sande.
A funny and entertaining story with matchmaking relatives, too eager ladies, and uncommon suitors. Lady Anne and Viscount Hexham were both smitten, enthralled and enchanted! A funny pair that made me chuckle a lot. Poor Hexham! He was out of his league! No wonder his sister was bullying him most of the time. Bad sister. You must help him! Lady Angelica's character was bold, daring and passionate. She almost made me blush! These ladies were not shy violets! Straight to the point! And yes, it was a bit confusing to track which characters went with each family, but the fun was worth the extra effort. Lady Anne and Gabe's parents left me intrigued. I had not read their story. I'm going for their book next.
George and his twin sister Angelica come to London early as she’s to meet a knight her father wants her to consider marrying. George is stricken by a beauty he sees in a carriage who turns out to be Angelica’s friend, Anne.
Anne is also enamoured with George, and both talk to their families to learn more about each other. Though Anne is young and hasn’t had her first Season, she doesn’t care, she wants to marry and have a family. George is young too, but knows he wants to marry Anne, and is ready to settle down.
Meanwhile, Ben is a knight who is an astronomer and has built an observatory in the back of his house. Angelica, his neighbour, realizes he has a telescope, and marches over to chastise him for being a peeping Tom.
Instead, they gaze at Venus together, and it’s only when he receives two invitations to dinner, as a knight and a neighbour, that he realizes she doesn’t know who he is. He decides not to reveal his status to see if that’s the only reason she might marry him.
With siblings and parents meddling and sharing secrets about who feels what about whom, everyone ends up where they want to be, and two Christmas weddings take place.
A fun regency romance, with great characters who go after what they want.
Oh such a delightful novel. Pretty much clean all the way up to the end then a smidgen of a sex scene. Plot was straight to the point and no twists or turns really other than an admission of a partial truth. But everything turned out just dandy, no handkerchief needed. Two young ladies, one especially looking forward to being married and turning out her own little ones. Or at least finding the right gentleman to call their own. The gentlemen in question are not sure if the ladies would like them at all. Thinking the worst of themselves in regards to age, money and how the ton would view it all in general. By a chance meet each, will have to bide their time and ask the questions they have in order to make a decision.
At first, I was a little confused. There were so many people being introduced and telling bits of the story. Once that settled down, I enjoyed the journeys of Angel and Ben, and Anne and George. The instant attractions and complete belief they belonged together made it interesting. Though things did seem a little rushed, it was a good story. Angel was such a nice wonderful woman, and Anne need what she wanted even though she had yet to really experience life. The men were willing to love these two women no matter what. A good story with a lot happening.
I received a copy of this story through CBR Services, and this is my unsolicited review.
I picked this series up at a local bookstore in Cody, WY. Sometimes "local authors" can be hit or miss but I'm glad that Autographed Copy sticker caught my eye and I grabbed these books. It's a quick read about a few interconnected families of the ton who aren't beholden to marrying only the 'right sort of people'. They have real passions outside what is just expected of them. My only complaint is that we don't get to see any one relationship in all that much depth because each book is focused on two couples getting together, but I'm never going to bemoan an extra HEA thrown in. Great read while we travel!
**** SPOILER ALERT **** Sande delivers a delightfully entertaining double romance, as is her Modis Operandi, in "The Angel Of An Astronomer". The author's world building and character development are top notch in this page turner. I can hardly wait to read the next volume in this series. In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review. It is my own honest opinion.
A simple yet lovely read. This book was fun to read it gave me such a warm and happy feeling when I was done. George Grandby, Lady Anne Wellingham, Lady Angelica Grandby, and Sir Benjamin Fulton were outstanding characters. The writing was witty and charming it was a simple yet lovely read. This one almost makes you believe in love at first sight. I am happy to recommend this lovely tale. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I love when a new book and for me a new author holds two great stories not just one .Ms. Sande takes us on a journey of two love stories that I found quite enjoyable reading.I found the characters to be ones who I enjoyed following through their way to find their Happily ever after. It is a fast moving story of what may happen when you find your hearts desire right next door or in the form of a sister's friend. Enjoy!
I did enjoy this two-for-one regency-themed romance story. I like the female twin story better because she was a bit more feisty and strong-willed whereas the other couple was a little bit more reserved. Although I do like that you get a taste of another temperament as well, it all balances out and comes together for an entertaining diversion. I really wish that the two main female characters had less similar names, it really caused confusion when trying to really get to know the characters.
This was different from any recency I have ever read, and I've read a few. Having two full romances seemed like a good idea, however after a few chapters I was confusing the characters. It didn't help the heroines were named Angelica and Anne. As far as steaminess, it was mostly just thought about, talked about, and a few kisses until the last chapter or so. Then, well, it lost a star for steaminess.
I love this author’s books. I love the continuing saga of the families. More fun, lovely characters and witty dialogue. A five star book that loses one star for the needlessly detailed sex scene tacked on at the end to fill some sort of requirement of the industry.
I was so intrigued to find this book is about twins. Not only that, we get to see both of them fall in love. George and Lady Anne find love at first or is it maybe second sight. Ben and Anjelica have a few meddlers in their midsts but will they find their way on their own.I loved the story from beginning to end.
So very well written, the story draws you in as Angelica and her twin return to London for the holidays, a first time their family has been a part for Christmas. They cannot possibly be prepared for what they'll receive this year, but you'll be glad you were allowed to eavesdrop. Highly recommended.
I really liked the change of her name to Angel. I also liked the double story and ending. My favorite part was how both groups of brother and sister were so open to talking to each other with what they wanted. I wish there were not so many different points of view, though. It made the book quite confusing until I remembered each one.
This story was just a delight. No false starts. No hysterical misunderstandings. Two different couples find their forever matches & go after what they want. It was fun, no graphic sex, but plenty of sexual tension. Lovely people. No villains. Just two happy love stories. I haven't read this author before, but will be sure to read more of her work.
We actually get two romances in this book. I did get a little confused as to who went with who at one point, as perspectives kept shifting, and that pesky work thing didn’t let me read uninterrupted. But good interplay between them all. I picked up the second book as soon as I could.
The first book in The Heirs of the Aristocracy series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I will warn do not start at bedtime, as I was not putting the book down until I had finished reading it. George, Viscount Hexham, and Lady Anne, and also Sir Benjamin an Astronomer and Lady Angelica's story. I enjoyed reading this story. I want to read the rest of this series.
This Victorian novella is a sweet romp in the snow. Angelica is a spirited miss who is not afraid of rushing off in her dressing gown to confront suspected peeping toms or throwing things at her brother when he annoys her. Ben is enchanted with her from their first face-to-face meeting, and their subsequent romance is fun to watch.
This is not a favourite book and it was very busy with characters that you learnt little about without knowing how pivotal to the plot they would be. To call Christmas a holiday is not something Regency/Victorian British would do nor do they call it a holiday now. . .irritating to see such modern language uses in a period piece.
One couple wants to be together George and Anna, they had seen each other previously. Benjamin was being setup by his brother and godfather to Angelic. Benjamin is into astronomy and has a telescope in his home which is next store to her parents home. Angelic originally thought he was a peeping Tom. He shows her Venus and the planet.
We have enjoyed their parents and now get to see how the next generation goes on. And you get to see the parents meddle. Sweet. Fun. And I will be pre ordering Gabe's story when it comes out. I love this writer!
