Cosy Kettle #3

A Christmas Wish and a Cranberry Kiss at the Cosy Kettle

Rate this book
Running from heartbreak, twenty-five-year-old Becca has moved to the cosy village of Honeyford. Living with her best friend Zac in a little stone cottage, and serving mince pies and steaming gingerbread lattes at the Cosy Kettle, is the perfect escape from her past.

But starting over isn’t always plain sailing, and Becca’s shyness is holding her back from making her mark on the café. To make matters worse, her crush on blond-haired, blue-eyed local heartthrob Logan gets stronger by the day – but he can barely remember her name. So as the snow starts to fall in Honeyford, Becca has one big Christmas wish: to completely reinvent herself. Becca dreams of bringing the Cosy Kettle success and finding romance with Logan under the mistletoe.

As she gets a makeover, cosies up to Logan over mulled wine and plans the most festive celebration the café has ever seen, Becca wonders why she waited so long to step out of her comfort zone… Zac, on the other hand, thought she was perfect before – always caring for others – and he misses the quirky girl with the bright blue hair.

When Logan turns out to not be all he seems, Becca is left wondering if he’s really the one for her. With her party plans also going awry, can Becca save her beloved Cosy Kettle in time for Christmas? And has the key to her happiness been in front of her all along?

I live on the south coast of England with my family, and write heart-warming, emotional women's fiction and romantic comedies.

When I've notched up my daily word count, I enjoy reading, walking by the sea with friends, singing in a local choir, and watching TV. I love sci-fi programmes and still harbour a childhood crush on Captain Kirk.

Book Reviewed on www.whisperingstories.com

This is the third book in the Cosy Kettle series and the third one that I have read and reviewed too. The first two books ‘New Starts and Cherry Tarts at the Cosy Kettle‘ and ‘A Summer Escape and Strawberry Cake at the Cosy Kettle‘, I reviewed earlier in the year and absolutely enjoyed them, so I couldn’t wait to begin this book.

Each book has focused on a different resident of the small village of Honeyford and this book is no exception, this time the plot focuses on shy and reserved Becca who is the manager of the Cosy Kettle Cafe situated at the back of the bookshop on the high street.

Becca left her life in Birmingham behind after a devastating break-up which really knocked her confidence. She moved in with her friend Zac and got herself a job running the cafe. After two problematic moments and a visit from her confident and beautiful twin sister Jasmine, Becca decides she needs to turn her life around and so makes herself a ‘wish list’ with six items she needs to complete or overcome before Christmas, including getting the man of her dreams, Logan.

Can Becca fulfil her wish or will she realise that everything she ever needed was right there in front of her?

I have really enjoyed reading the Cosy Kettle series of books and getting to know all the residents of Honeyford, especially the members of the book club, including Stanley, which meet in the cafe.

Becca has been a prominent figure throughout the last two books so it was nice to see her get her story told and also to watch her grow and come out of her shell a little. In the first book I found bookshop owner Flora a little too harsh but I warmed to her in book two, however, I again found her a little too overbearing at times and I still don’t think anybody in their forties behaves and speaks the way Flora does, I would have put her at least another ten years old, if not more.

The story is enjoyable, funny in parts, and filled with gorgeous mouth-watering cakes and drinks. It was wonderful to see Honeyford at Christmas in all it’s frosty, sparkly glory. Overall the book was so sweet and lovely and whilst it can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading the previous two books first, especially the first which has to be my favourite of the entire series.

Liz Eeles’ third installment in the Cozy Kettle series is just as whimsical and charming as the first two. If you have not have the pleasure of visiting the Cozy Kettle previously, you can absolutely read this one as a standalone. A festive story filled with hope, heart, laughs, and yummy treats! A Scrumptious tale that will leave you feeling all warm and cozy with a craving for some sweets.

This is Becca’s story. Becca was introduced to us in the first book, a sweet shy character who pulled at my heartstrings. I was excited to see that she had her own story and I was even more excited to see her transformation throughout this book. Becca me it’s Logan and thinks he is the perfect guy for her. The problem is Logan doesn’t think Becca is perfect, so Becker decides to change, and become Logan’s perfect girl. Meanwhile Zac, becca‘s best friend/roommate is not thrilled with the new Becca. And even less thrilled that she is changing her self for Logan. I’m sure you all know where this is going.... even though this was slightly predictable, it still was so much fun. These characters were so engaging. The setting is so quaint yet quirky. And I loved all the banter and humor. There is a definite festive vibe running throughout the story as Becca plans a Christmas party, but it’s not Christmas overload. This really is the story about a girl discovering how amazing she truly is and in doing so recognizing the boy who always thought she was.

Review originally posted on A Keyboard and an Open Mind 8 November 2019:

Ah man. I hate being that person. That is, the first person to give a negative review of a book. I just didn’t love this one!

Look, I probably should have checked my review of A Summer Escape and Strawberry Cake at the Cosy Kettle, the second book in this series, before I requested this one. I thought I had given that one four stars, and that this one would be much the same. But actually, it was only a 3-star read for me, and I think I had a lot of the same issues with this one.

It started out well. I found Becca really relatable at first. But her inability to see that Logan was usiing her combined with letting the book club crew walk over her and insist on helping her (“they’re being kind” she says as they push her into something she’s not entirely comfortable with for the fifth time) just made her feel more like a doormat after a while.

Most of the side characters were pretty one dimensional. I ddi mention in my review of the previous book that I thought Stanley was a bit over the top, and that feeling continued in this one. He was pushy, and inserted himself into situations he had no real right to be in. While I understood Becca’s anxieties about her twin sister and thought they were well-written, Jasmine herself was irritating. I guess she was supposed to be a little, though.

A lot of the complications in the second half of the book would be alleviated if the characters just talked to one another. I get that it’s difficult to tell someone you have feelings for them, but a quck “Are you and my sister a couple?” would have helped.

And given that Logan was booking the Cosy Kettle for one night only, it seemed odd that Becca spent a good couple of weeks leading up to his party redecorating the cafe to his requirements.

I feel like such a Grinch giving a feel-good holiday romance a bad review, but I guess at the end of the day I just had too many niggles to really enjoy.

(Thank you to Bookouture for sending a free copy my way in exchange for an honest review)

My rating: 4.5 Stars

Becca has dealt with heartbreak, but she is happy and is rooming with her best friend Zac. She has a lovely job working at the Cosy Kettle, and even has a chance for promotion. However, she is painfully shy. Can she overcome it enough to make some changes at the Cosy Kettle?

When the opportunity to do just that comes around, in the form of a gorgeous man named Logan, Becca sees stars. Can she mix business and pleasure when it comes to Logan? Or will she soon discover that Zac could be much more than a roommate?

What a yummy story! Not only are the treats Becca creates mouth-watering, but the warmth that comes from her finding her footing, and her true heart's desire made me so happy. I couldn't help but read this book in one sitting. I loved watching Becca grow and Zac's reactions to her. I truly enjoyed this book by Liz Eeles and reading more from her in the future will definitely be on my agenda.

Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I loved the Cosy Kettle series so so much!!! And this third part "Christmas wish and a cranberry kiss" is the best part of the series! I am giving it a 5 stars out of 5! This time we follow Becca, the girl who manages the Cafe. Becca is someone who is full of anxiety and underestimates herself a lot. But she is fed up of being like that and a few weeks before Christmas she makes a wish to change herself to become a better version of herself.
This story is so well written and I was hooked from first to last page! Thank you Liz Eeles for this wonderful series and book!!!! Now I cannot wait for your next book!!!!!

This is a book about a girl wishing to grow from an ugly duckling into an improved swan. But it is also a book about being true to yourself, or as the protagonist puts it "It's better to embrace it (her flaws) and make the most of the benefits it confers - the sensivitiy and empathy and kindness - rather than trying to shoehorn my personality into a whole other one that doesn't fit." And Liz Eeles brings this message across very beautifully.

I don't remember the heroine - Becca - from the first book (maybe she wasn't even in it?), but warmed to her immediately. She is just as nice as Callie, and I liked her just the way she was at the beginning of the book. At the same time I can understand her wish to be more like her glamorous twin sister, who is more succesful in her job, with men and even with their parents. Or so she thinks...

I liked visiting the Cosy Kettle once again, I liked the flow of the story, I liked the characters, I liked the ending (and the epilogue one year later).

Having left heartbreak behind and moving to the friendly village of Honeyford, Becca has a job she adores as the Manager of the Cosy Kettle, and a best friend in her roommate Zac. But compared to her twin sister Jasmine, Becca feels unsuccessful and plain. Determined to improve her life, she creates a six-item wishlist which she feels will provide her with the life she so desires. Included in this list, is a date with the dreamy Logan.

The cafe has a diverse cast of characters who make up a book club who meet regularly at the cafe and make Becca’s work life eventful. Indeed, one of the members happens upon Becca’s wishlist and shares this list with the rest of the book club. After several meetings, the book club develops the Becca improvement plan. Throw in having to makeover the cafe for Logan’s work event and Becca is in transition overload.

What transpires is a funny, enchanting read full of Christmas spirit, friendship and introspection. I loved Becca’s character and her willingness to better herself but keeping the need to be true to herself. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book in exchange for the honest review provided here.

I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 stars.

A festive delight!

I have been trying to hold off requesting all the yummy Christmas books from NetGalley because it can be too soon to read them in October...but I have adored this series and couldn't resist Becca's story.

Whilst this could be read as a standalone, you'd be missing out on some background to the multitude of characters as well as 2 excellent stories that I also rated highly. Becca has been in both previous novels and I was eager for her turn to take centre stage as I can really resonate with her shy character.

I found myself disappointed with Flora who, at times, didn't handle Becca's nervousness well and it was fantastic that her flatmate Zac was there to ensure she didn't climb back into her shell. Their friendship had me smiling along and willing them to turn it into something more!

This was a really short read which helped me devour it. It was exactly what I've come to expect from this series with friendship, romance and hope shining throughout. I loved it and am sorry to hear that was the last visit to The Cosy Kettle but I await the next series news with anticipation!

My many thanks to Bookouture via NetGalley for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

What a warm and cosy read this was, I was enchanted from the first few pages, and just didn't want to be parted from the book until the end.

I absolutely adored being back in Honeyford, at the Cosy Kettle, and getting to know Becca a lot better.

She is a rather quiet, un-confident sort of a character, but has made a Christmas Wish to change, and as realised she needs to set herself goals in order to accomplish this.

With the help of the book club members, we see all manner of changes within Becca, some much better than others, and although as a reader you generally knew where the story would end up, the journey was so good that you just couldn't mind.

We see Becca try to change her appearance, personality, become more assertive, get a date with a man who she fancies, but I knew deep down wasn't the right man for her, and to hopefully end up more like her twin sister.

The actual journey of self discovery is gradual and I loved seeing how it all unfolded, all the while Becca is trying to please Logan with the Christmas party she is putting together for him.

And its with the party that I'd argue the biggest transformation happens, of the Cosy Kettle becoming less cosy and homely and more elegant.

I loved Becca's housemate Zac, he was adorable and just an ever present in Becca's life. We learn why Becca is how she is, and also get to know her family too.

There is a warmth of Christmas feeling throughout, but not over the top. It is the sort of book that would warm your heart at any point over the cold autumn / winter months.

I absolutely adored catching up with the regulars, and discovering every moment of this latest instalment of this fabulous series.

Another wonderful book from Liz Eeles, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Thank you to Bookouture on Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

(I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)

Despite being the third book in the Cosy Kettle series, this is a book you can read on its own (which I did) and catch up on the main plot points of the previous two books as you go. It’s a contemporary/women’s fiction story set in a small town at Christmas time, with all the festive goodness you’d expect.

It follows Becca, the manager of the Cosy Kettle, a cafe at the back of a bookstore, who has serious self-image issues and lacks confidence in just about everything. After leaving behind her old boyfriend and life, she’s rooming with her best friend, Zac, and decides that this is the year that she reinvents herself to be what she perceives to be the ‘perfect’ version of herself. To do this, she takes on an opportunity for a corporate event at the Cosy Kettle and, at the behest of the attractive businessman, Logan, begins to make changes that are not always for the best. Soon, Becca needs to decide whether her attraction to Logan trumps her quieter feelings for Zac.

This story has atmosphere in spades, but for me was let down by just how much Becca was convinced that she wasn’t good enough. Yes, she has a lot of character growth throughout the book as a result of her ploy to ‘improve herself’ but a lot of that storyline left me feeling very frustrated. She was not a character I liked very much in the end, especially in the way she began to treat the people who were helping her out. Zac, on the other hand, was absolutely adorable and a great friend. Whenever he appeared throughout the story, he stole the show for me.

While this was perhaps one of the most Christmas-y books I read this holiday season, it’s wider plot didn’t do very much for me and left me wanting more.

I have loved this series so much and this book was simply amazing full of building your own confidence after heartbreak and plenty of romance and wishes coming true. It's a heartwarming read and plenty about Christmas to and the characters are brilliant. I found it so enchanting to read and perfect to curl up and enjoy I was hooked from the beginning.
Becca has moved to the village to escape heartbreak and upset and she has moved in with her best friend Zac. She also works hard at the cosy kettle coffee shop but she really lacks in confidence and gets upset very easily if she feels she's not done the right thing. She's out with Zac and he takes her to the wishing well and tells her to make a wish. She writes down what she wants to do and she really wants to make the coffee shop really successful and as she has a crush on Logan she decides she would love to be in love with him and have a kiss with him. She really starts to try and reinvent herself and takes on doing a Christmas party at the coffee shop and throws herself into it. She also has a make over as she so wants to get together with Logan but then she wonders of she is really going after the right man as she now can't stop thinking of Zac but she doesn't want to spoil a friendship also she believes he's going out with her twin sister. Will the Christmas party be a success especially when at the last minute everything has to be change and will the cosy kettle be all ready for Christmas and be a big success and who will she decide to be with and who will make her happy and will she have more confidence in herself and will she be happy in time for Christmas.
Worth far more then five stars.

I was looking forward to return to the Cosy Kettle! This time it was time to follow Becca.

Becca left her life in the big city after a horrible break up and is now trying to make a life for herself together with her best friend Zac. But every day she is confronted with her insecurities and her past. She is now the manager of the Cosy Kettle, but she feels like she isn't really adding anything to the cafe or making good business decisions. Apart from the she feels like her sister is the eternal golden girl and she can never live up to the expectations her parents have of her.

So for Christmas she wants to become a new and improved Becca. And she wants a date with Logan, the guy she has been attracted to for quite some time.

I am afraid to say but I like this third instalment a lot less than the other books in this series. And I think the main reason why I disliked this book so was Becca as a main character. I understand she is insecure, but I just couldn't relate to her. Apart from that I think the character of Flora was so badly written. I absolutely loved her in the two previous books. But this time she was so negative and she just didn't act her age. She is supposed to be in her forties, but she acts like she is 20 years older.

And then there is the romance... This book is all about romance, but I just couldn't feel any chemistry going between the two people involved.

Such a shame... a missed chance for me.

***Thanks to Bookouture for providing a free copy of this one (via NetGalley)***

Overall, I thought this one was moderately Christmassy. I mean, it's Christmas time and the Cosy Kettle is decorated, and there were loads of mince pies, but there was just some kind of Christmas spark missing for me. Similarly, I thought the characters were fun, but again something was just a bit flat. I did love the setting though!

I think one of the things that made it hard for me to connect with this one was that I just feel like the storylines about heart broken young women wanting to change themselves (into their sisters) is a bit overdone for me.

This was really kind of "eh" for me, and I gave it 2.5/5 stars.

This was a lovely Christmassy book. The plot mostly revolves around Becca, who is an anxious person, and wants to change. I can’t say too much without giving away the plot, but it was lovely to see her character development. The gaggle of supporting characters were fun and sympathetic, they all seemed like real people.

If you enjoy Christmassy stories about cosy cafes and people coming into their own, then this is the book for you.

Yay, a Becca story! Ever since the first book, when we met this shy, anxious and retiring slip of a girl, I knew I’d love watching her grow. She’s advanced to manager of the Cosy Kettle but her lack of confidence is a constant bugbear for her. Especially in light of her super successful twin sister, Jasmine.

Becca vows to overhaul herself and become the best version of her she can be: Snag the super hot guy of the village, become more assertive and take on more challenges! Especially with Christmas looming, she has a goal and a deadline to work towards.

I also loved the festive feel and it was great to be back at the cosy kettle, which is just as lovely and cosy as it sounds. Sad it’s the last one but it’s been an epic series so far. Even though there are three in the series, you don’t need to have read any of the others to enjoy as they work beautifully as standalones with one character dedicated to each story. I would recommend reading them all though because they’re ace.

Need a new cosy series to get stuck into now!

4.5⭐️s Delightful 3rd book in the series! The character development just kept getting better along with relationships within this small town. Ups and downs just like in real life. 'A Christmas Wish & A Cranberry Kiss At The Cosy Kettle' is the third book in the 'Cosy Kettle' series. I loved the first two books in the series and I couldn't wait to get started on this third book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'A Christmas Wish & A Cranberry Kiss At The Cosy Kettle' but more about that in a bit.
I couldn't help but take to Becca from the first moment I met her in this book. She fled her previous home to escape her previous life. Becca sees herself as a failure in most things such as her family, her relationship, her work and she can't help but compare herself to her sister who Becca perceives to be 'perfect' in every way. A big part of Becca's problem is how she perceives herself and her self confidence seems to be at near rock bottom. Becca flees her previous life and she moves to a little village called Honeyford, moving in with her best friend Zac. It's obvious that Zac is holding a torch for Becca but Becca just can't see that. Becca becomes attracted to a man called Logan, who seems to loiter around like a bad smell. He seems to barely notice that she exists and he certainly can't remember her name. Becca is painfully shy and she is afraid to step outside her comfort zone. She wants to stamp her mark on the Cosy Kettle but she lacks the confidence to do so. It's obvious that change is needed and Becca knows that if she wants to change her life then the only person who can do that is her and she can only do that by stepping out of her comfort zone. Becca steps outside her comfort zone and makes the changes that she thinks are necessary. Becca decides to have a makeover in the hope that Logan notices her and they can skip off into the sunset together. However Logan is not what he initially appears to be. Zac thinks that Becca was perfect before her makeover but will he be able to convince her? Will Becca be able to achieve everything on her Christmas Wish List? Who will Becca choose to be with the lovely Zac or the not so lovely Logan? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves as I am not going to tell you.
It didn't take me long at all to get into this book. As soon as I started to read this book, I felt as though I had reunited with old friends in the regulars of the Cosy Kettle. I love the way in which the characters have gelled with each other and the way in which they stick together to defend one of their own. Reading 'A Christmas Wish & A Cranberry Kiss At The Cosy Kettle' became an addiction. I would pick the book up only intending to read a couple of chapters but I became so wrapped up in the story that I read far more than any couple of chapters in one particular spell. I found it extremely difficult to put this book to one side for any reason but if I did have to put the book down, then I would immediately look forward to picking the book up again. It was as if the book had developed a hold over me and it was a hold that I didn't want to break. I had to know how the story concluded and so the pages seemed to turn increasingly quickly the further through the book I got. I reached the end of the book far quicker than I had anticipated or wanted. I was enjoying the author's writing style, the characters and the storylines so much that I just didn't want the book to end.
'A Christmas Wish & A Cranberry Kiss At The Cosy Kettle' is brilliantly written but then I wouldn't expect anything else from Liz Eeles. She certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and she draws you into the story. Liz has a writing style that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. Reading this book didn't feel like I was reading a book, it felt more like a chat between friends. I know that might sound daft to some people but it makes sense to me. Liz manages to incorporate drama, romance and comedy all within the same book. This book left me with a smile at the end and I felt as though I had had a hug from a mug of hot chocolate, which left me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'A Christmas Wish & A Cranberry Kiss At The Cosy Kettle' and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. I will definitely be reading more of Liz's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Nothing makes me happier than a book (or series) that will bring me into a small British village, and let me live alongside the residents and experience their lives, even if in a book. The Cosy Kettle has come into its own, thanks in no small part to the manager, Becca and the ‘book club’ that spends hours there keeping everyone under watch and within their circle. And they are very protective of those they care for – and Becca is the fortunate recipient of their caring, advice and meddling. All well-intentioned, of course, and particularly slapstick ideas and help from Stanley. See, Becca is an overthinker and prone to ‘anxiety’. And, she’s always felt compared to her twin – but when a job that she thought she wanted turned out to be just the opposite, a relationship went south and her confidence was shattered, it broke her. A bit of time feeling like she’d disappointed everyone and they were convinced she was always going to need their support, and she moved to Honeyford and ended up, after a series of fortunate events, as the manager of the café. Still with the crippling overthinking and worries about being enough – but her housemate and best friend Zac have her mostly on an even keel.

And then, she decides that a wish list of ‘things to change’ will be the answer to her every problem – and she’s determined to do it all by Christmas. From securing a fancy ‘work do’ for the guy she’s crushed on since arriving in Honeyford, and remaking the café to a more ‘upscale’ (and heartless think many) venue, to suddenly being the focus of the crushed-upon boy’s focus, things are moving in the direction she wants- all to be more like her twin. But she’s not happy and often it’s more stressful suffering from the after-effects of the changes.

I love this series and the support that everyone gives Becca, even when she ‘wrong-foots’ it often in the attempts to ‘be different’. For in and of herself, Becca is lovely, if a bit prone to overthinking ALL the possibilities and never quite feeling up to ‘snuff’. And when she finally takes a clear look at her own feelings for Zac, and the lack of response that she has from Logan (of the crush) it’s a whole other storm of second-guessing. And then, through finally being shown just how marvelous they all think she is – and being honest with herself and Zac – and helping her mother through a crisis of confidence and choices – things work out for the best. And the whole village had a hand in the happy story, even the tricky parts. Another wonderful installment in a series that has come to be one of my favorites.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This summer I had the pleasure of reading A Summer Escape and Strawberry Cake at the Cosy Kettle by Liz Eeles, which I absolutely loved. When I saw that this book was coming out, I couldn’t wait to return to this world amongst a gorgeous Christmas backdrop. Also a note, if you didn’t read the previous story that will not not impede you from enjoying this delicious read.

After being unable to cope with the constant high stress of her high profile job, Becca decides to leave it all behind and takes a position as the manager of the Cosy Kettle cafe. After squandering a potential deal for the cafe, Becca’s anxiety and self confidence is at an all time low. She decides that once and for all, she is going to make some changes in order to be more like her confident and gorgeous twin sister. Becca decides to make a Christmas wish list, and she’s determined to have all of her wishes even if the timeline is a bit tight.

It was effortless to fall in love with Becca from the first few pages. She clearly wants to become a better version of herself even if she doesn’t really know what that looks like. She’s convinced herself that if she can impress Logan by hosting a classy and chic Christmas do at the Cosy Kettle, Becca will also score a date with him. Becca also goes to great lengths to get a glamorous makeover as well as find a way to finally make her parents proud. I could definitely relate to her desire to change until she ultimately discovers her own inner worth.

Besides Becca, her roommate and best friend Zac was such a wonderful character. I loved how Zac always put Becca and her dreams and wishes first even when Becca doesn’t pick up on it. It was frustrating to see Becca pine over Logan when her best friend was staring her in the face.

Overall, this is such a cosy and feel good holiday read that reminds us that we don’t need to change who we are in order to find happiness. Rather, we only need to discover our true selves.

This book was always going to be a winner for a dessert foodie like myself. With a gorgeous front cover and a book synopsis that mentions mince pies and steaming gingerbread lattes, it was as though “A Christmas Wish and a Cranberry Kiss at the Cosy Kettle” was written especially for me, though the title is a bit of a mouthful! Having previously read 'New Starts and Cherry Tarts at the Cosy Kettle' I was keen to read this novel and catch up with Becca.

After a failed romance, twenty-five-year-old Becca is living with her best friend Zac in a little stone cottage in the cosy village of Honeyford. But serving the friendly locals in the Cosy Kettle with a welcoming smile isn't easy as Becca’s shyness is holding her back from making her mark on the café. To make matters worse, her crush on blond-haired, blue-eyed local heart-throb Logan is growing stronger each day. Her Christmas wishes are to completely reinvent herself, bring roaring success to the Cosy Kettle and get together with Logan under the mistletoe. But what about Zac, who thinks she is already perfect?

Set in the Cotswolds in the run-up to Christmas, this latest instalment in the series brought no disappointments. The opening chapters drew me into the story and captured my attention immediately. There was a lot going on and many of the characters were very funny and easy to relate to, though it would have been good to see more of my favourites from before, such as Callie and Flora. I particularly liked the highly amusing parts that included Callie’s unusual Grandfather, Stanley, who continued to thrill as he tried to regain his youth.

Liz Eeles’ writing style is very natural, with a good steady pace. Delightful and entertaining “A Christmas Wish and a Cranberry Kiss at the Cosy Kettle” is a quick, light read and it’s a great book with which to curl up on the sofa, along with a mug of hot chocolate and a huge slice of Christmas cake.

A fabulous Christmastime read that I am delighted to recommend.

When I started this book, I wasn't aware that this book belongs to a series but I think it's not important to know the previous books as they always deal with other characters. I found my way easily around without knowing the other stories.

In the beginning I still kind of liked the book and its cosy atmosphere in a little town in the Cotswold but I found myself more and more annoyed with the story and its characters. I also recommend not to read the whole blurb as it tells almost the whole story of the book.

Becca was a very insecure protagonist, always fearing and worrying, and she desperately wants to be like her twin sister. First it was easy to understand Becca and her fears but I got more and more annoyed by her.

I also missed the Christmassy atmosphere I was expecting from this story. All in all I have to say this book was quite disappointing for me and I expected something different.

This was such a lovely, cosy Christmas read.
Becca is managing the Cosy Kettle at the bookshop in Honeyford. She generally has a lack of self confidence and wants to make a few changes. She makes a wish list and hopes to tick them all off, including getting a date with the dishy Logan.
As part of her new campaign she agrees to take on a Christmas party booking. There are several problems to overcome and she manages to upset her friends from the bookclub with her plans to change. But the great sense of community in Honeyford sees them all pulling together to help her make the event a success.
I loved the members of the bookclub, a mix of some eccentric characters who all have a heart of gold. I was so sad to come to the end of this one.

A Christmas Wish and a Cranberry Kiss at the Cozy Kettle is such a charming, festive read. I was drawn in right from the beginning and connected easily with Becca. I’m always happy to see characters with mental health struggles because it’s something I relate to. Becca’s anxiety - her tendency to worry, overthink, people please, and ‘be nervy’ were things I understand well.

I appreciated Becca’s desire for change, and think a lot of people will relate to her. She feels overlooked, especially because her twin sister is the golden child - the smart and successful one, the beautiful one, seemingly their parents’ favourite - and she feels like she can’t measure up, no matter what she does. She wants to be seen as confident and assertive, not shy and fragile, but her confidence has taken a beating after having her heart broken. She makes a list of Christmas wishes - things she needs to do in order to live the life she thinks she wants - and along the way, with some help from a wonderfully quirky cast of characters and her adorable, swoony roommate and best friend Zac, Becca learns a lot of really important life lessons.

I loved the overall cozy, festive feeling of this book. It was sweet and funny and had a lovely magical feeling to it. I haven’t read the other Cozy Kettle books (although now I want to!), so if you’re like me and you’re adding every Christmas book in sight to your TBR and you’re wondering if you can jump into the series with this book without being lost, you absolutely can.

Happy publication day! My first Christmas read of 2019 and no it’s not too early. I’ve done my kids lists already and this book really puts you in a festive, cheery mood. The cover is gorgeous!
It is book three in the Cosy Kettle series and can be read as a standalone each book so far has dived into a different characters life from this town and its been a pleasure to read. I felt welcomed back to this town, bookshop and cafe… Feels familiar and like home. This book focuses on character Becca aka manager of the cafe and shes set herself a list of five things to do before Christmas… But will she do it? I loved Beccas character and story. Beautifully written. A brilliant festive read!
A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. I hope this isn’t the end of the series because I am loving it and waiting for the next one. The perfect Christmas read for 2019. Get cosy and curl up with this one.

I loved everything about this book. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant for the season the story is set in, of course, but that was to be expected. The cafe setting was deliciously cozy, but again, no surprises there (heck, it's even in the title!). What impressed me the most was the character development. The main character Becca starts off hating pretty much everything about herself, from her looks to her personality (she isn't overly confident and tends to spend a lot of time worrying about life = something a lot of us can relate to, I'm sure). She makes a list of things she needs to change about herself by Christmas, which is a mere couple of weeks away, Helped by the cafe's loyal customers and her best friend Zac, she embarks on a mission that you can't but hope will fail, as who would want lovely Becca to turn into a soulless replica of her twin sister?
