The semi finals was a great game, although the ending of the game was a bit convenient and therefore a little weak.

Whistle!, Vol. 22 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next nine chapters (192–200) of the on-going manga series.
The Japan Toresen continues in this tankobon with the game of Tokyo Select and Kyūshū Select. These two teams are rather evenly matched. Despite Taki Sugihara finding out a weakness in Shōei Takayama, it seems that it didn’t work considering Shōei Takayama seems to be a genius or an idiot savant when it comes to knowing where the soccer ball is. So despite Tokyo Select's many attacks none of them seem to get anywhere near the goal.
Tokyo Select managed to score the first goal in the second half, when Kyūshū Select thought they made a penalty and because of the confusion they were scored upon. However, in a blink in an eye, Kyūshū Select not only even the score, but surpassed it. It wasn't until Takashi Narumi was given a red card and kicked out of the game did Tokyo Select revved up and managed to score two more goals to win the game with the score of 3–2.
Tokyo Select has made it to the finals and their opponent – Kansai Select. It seems, quite predictably, that Shō Kazamatsuri will play against his former mentor and current rival Shigeki Satō/Fujimura.
Daisuke Higuchi has written and illustrated this tankobon. The match between Tokyo and Kyūshū Selects was rather suspenseful, although in the back of my mind I knew that Tokyo Select would win. It only makes sense that they would and I wasn’t particularly surprised when they did. However, now that the finals are ahead of us, I can’t wait to read how Daisuke Higuchi plans to complete not just the game, but the series since there are only two tankobon left.
All in all, Whistle!, Vol. 22 is a wonderful continuation of the series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

Whistle! is about a boy who plays for the youth Tokyo national soccer team. He has to beat all the other Asian national teams to make it to the top slot to represent there city. They end up blowing through all the other teams and winning the cup.
I can connect this to myself because every year in my club we have state cup where we have to compete with top teams in our division to represent our club and our state. It is really fun beating the other states because you are proving that the best players are from New York City!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the sport of soccer and is serious enough about it to know what competing in an actually hard competitive competition is like. I would recommend to someone who is maybe ages 10 and up because it would be good for them to understand.

Great manga series. It slowed for me in the later volumes, but was good on whole.
