Blood of Zeus #3

Fate of Storms

Rate this book
A stolen destiny. An impossible quest.

Kara Valari has broken one of the underworld’s highest laws and is serving the ultimate sentence. But nothing—not even the impossible quest of breaching the boundaries of hell and facing off with Hades himself—will keep Maximus Kane from rescuing her. The journey will demand all of Maximus’s courage…and help from an unlikely guide. Driven by love, he sets off into a dark realm he only knows from the tattered pages of Dante’s Comedy.

In hell’s bleak world, every part of Kara’s soul is subjected to Hades’s morbid fascination and merciless assault. Giving in to his demands means sharing the intimate details of why she dared to disobey him—a love for Maximus that, even now, burns on in her heart. Just when Kara resolves herself to an eternity of her nightmare, she discovers a glimmer of hope…a way to glimpse her beloved. Could her visions of Maximus unite them once more, or are they just another twisted punishment for her in a kingdom designed for agony?

In those fleeting moments of light and passion, Kara rekindles her fight to survive. Darkness may still separate her from Maximus, but they’re connected by fate. But can their love survive this storm?

Wowza! That was some magical ride!!

Fate of Storms is the thrilling end of Max and Kara’s epic story. Hang on to seats for this one folks because we take a journey to the underworld that will leave you hanging right on the edge.

The sheer volume of imagination and meticulous attention to detail that went into crafting this story blows my mind. As a lover of Mythology and the study of classics, I totally geeked out throughout this binge read! The language and imagery is beautifully rendered. The characters are some of the best I’ve read, and the sheer entertainment value alone is worth the download.

Max and Kara defy all odds to be with one another. Their connection was palpable from the very start of book one and only grows stronger through the final page of book 3. I’m a complete and utter sucker for good writing and unbreakable vows of love. Throw in vengeful gods and a trip to underworld and you might as well just take my heart now, because you’ll own. Meredith Wild and Angel Payne have created something truly special.
Here’s what I loved:
Maximus. Nuff said!
Highly recommended!

FATE OF STORMS picks up right where HEART OF FIRE left off, Kara has been abducted by Hades and brought back to his circle of...well you know, and Maximus will do whatever it takes to rescue her.

This was a fast paced, edge of your seat, cant turn the page fast enough read. I didn't want to put it down. There was so much going on I would advise readers to clear out an afternoon so they can just sit and devour this read without interruption.

Maximus and Kara have a pull towards one another that is so rare, who cares that their relationship is frowned up not only by the University where he teaches and she's a student but also by her family. They surly don't and neither do I, they are HOT together!

After everything that happened with Maximus and Kara in this book I cannot begin to figure out what is going to happen next, but I cannot wait to find out!

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Paranormal Romance, Retelling's of Greek Mythology, or Steamy Romances. I would also like to stress that these books should be read in the order they have been released.

Happy Reading!!!

With every book in this series, I find myself so much more invested and wrapped in the world that Wild and Payne have created with this spellbinding series. Fate of Storms picks up right after Heart of Fire and it is intense! Seeing Maximus fight to get Kara back is so intense. My heart aches for both of them so much as they are struggling to be together again. I am blown away at the twists and turns that are thrown at us. I was left breathless trying to grasp everything that was happening within this book.
The one thing I am living for with this series is the unique concept that is just mind blowing. There is such a level of attention to detail that will have you completely enthralled in every word and begging to know more. Fate of Storms gives you a brilliant and vivid glimpse at the world that these authors have created from Hell to every place in between. I am dying to find out more!

This has got to be one of my fave series! Meredith and Angel blew my mind with this series and everything our lovebirds have to go through to finally be together once and for all had me at the edge of my seat. This is seriously one series I would highly recommend, especially if you're into mythology, fantasy and romance. This was intense!

Didn’t know there’d be a 4th book coming our way so I read this one thinking it was a conclusion book to a trilogy, which impacted my opinion of the book while reading differently I think than if I’d known beforehand this was a follow up book and there is more to come.

Looking back at this reading experience I’d say that This book has that ‘2nd book syndrome’ vibe. Yes, it’s a 3rd book and not the 2nd one but the semantics are the same I think. Its more of a filler and slower paced book in comparison to the first two I think.

So overall this was okay. The writing itself reads really well and I like these characters and the bits and pieces of mythology that’s thrown in. Will read the next one to see how it all continues; I’m definitely still curious enough at this point.

The next in the series of Maximus and Kara's story and it picks up right where Heart of Fire left us.
Maximus musters all the help he can think of to figure out a way to try and get to where Hades took Kara. His quest has him reaching out to the only two people with as much if not more knowledge than his own in what becomes a very real journey through Hell. The detail in those pages, every obstacle, every roadblock, are easily pictured in my mind's eye and keeps me devouring the words. The emotions laced throughout are palpable. The grief and anguish drop a ball of dread in your stomach, there's a chill you actually feel in your bones, and just when you don't know if you can take any more, there's a little glimmer of hope. it's apparent that not only knowledge, wit and strength are needed, but focus, courage and love just might be what tips the scales.
In the aftermath, one family comes face to face after years of hiding, other family secrets are revealed and a new path is laid out to follow. I can't wait to see what happens next in Bridge of Souls.

Fate of Storms completed the amazing The Blood of Zeus Series.

Why do I start with that statement? Because NOW...if you haven’t been keeping up...you can acquire the entire series and binge read. I assure you, you will not be putting any of these stories down, and you definitely want to start from the beginning.

There are some duos that will always have you squirming in your seat, along with smiling one minute, screaming the next and cheering them on throughout. Oh, you thought I was talking about our main characters in this series, wrong. The duo of Meredith Wild and Angel Payne always bring the heat, the power, the passion, and the OMGs. Angel has that rare trait that always envelopes me into her tales. Her ability to wrap the scenes around me have always made her a favorite author of mine. Meredith Wild has been one of my favorites for so long I care not to tell. She brings the bang to every story she pens and always keeps me enveloped. So what happens when these two get together on a project that is a little out of their norm? Most will say the Blood of Zeus Series was born, but others will simply say Maximus! Once you start reading you will understand.

Fate of Storms is the finale of this series. That might be true, but then, I still have room for more. This story is involving and will have you wrapped up from beginning to end. How our authors spin this web and pull all the pieces together from heavens up high to hell below is mind boggling. What a great way to end a series. Yes, all the questions are answered. Other surprises definitely arise, and even they just FIT. And in the end, there is a feeling of complete satisfaction. Talk about an opportunity for a book hangover, this is the series.

Wonderful job ladies and there is no way I have enough stars to give to this story. Thank you for always bringing me into your world and keeping me tied with a smile on my face.

The best in the series, yet still not enough to keep me.

This third book was definitely my favorite thus far. There was action, suspense and I could feel the emotions of the characters - finally! The change in setting and the turn in the plot provided a nice change of pace. I almost think this book would have made a better book one! Just throw the reader right in with the intrigue.

All of that being said, it was still a struggle for me to reach the end. The characters (all of them-yes, even the Gods!) act like children throwing tantrums because no one will solve their problems for them or because something did not go their way. Then, the timeline itself is soo very slow! Nothing progresses. The reader is still left wondering when something is going to change or when a character relationship will grow. That's three books, over six hundred pages read and for what?

So, I have decided to say goodbye to this series. Should (and there really should be) a fourth book be published, it will not be on my TBR list. I have spent enough time questioning why these characters are depicted as half humans, possessing 'abilities' and yet act like the weakest humans ever.

A love so deep and true-Unbroken bonds

Fate of Storms is book #3 in the Blood of Zeus series that takes us literally to hell and back. What a fantastic enjoyable read this book is. The writing is incredibly descriptive, well done, flows very nicely, and is highly entertaining. The love that Kara and Max have is other worldly, and they are not from this world. Their souls call to each other no matter how far apart they are, and their love together is sizzling and electric. This book details their quest to be back together through all the twists and turns that are thrown at them. There are some surprises, some repercussions for their deeds, and a deep abiding love between the two that nothing can tear apart. Meredith Wild and Angel Payne have created a delightful, intriguing, alluring and captivating story that keeps you highly interested and holds your attention from start to finish. Fantabulous collaboration. Do not miss this excellent series.

WOW! Meredith Wild and Angel Pain have done a PHENOMENAL job on this series.
Bring Greek mythology to life and here on Earth.

This is the third book in the series and it totally lives up to the other two. This story is sexy and very emotion evoking. I get all the feels from this book. Such a huge range of emotions.

Definitely a must read. Thank you Meredith and Angel for writing such an amazing series.

So boring.

This story could have been written and concluded in two books, but of course, there’s another cliffhanger. I will NOT be finishing this series.

All. The. Feels!! This series continues to be so unique and riveting in it's writing style and storyline. This is the third book in the Blood of Zeus series and while you may think you know where it is going or how it will end, you will most likely be wrong (like I was)! When you have a story that is a modern day, mythologic, contemporary, paranormal romance (what a mouth full am I right?) centered around a Demi God Professor and a half blooded Demon celerity, you MUST pay attention to the details! This story did not have an off switch at any point. I felt like I needed to be full alert at all times or I may miss something important. Meredith and Angel continue to be a genius combination in writers which I believe has a lot to be with their seemingly endless imaginations and incredible writing. In Fate of Storms they give us a story that is creative and magical, emotional and thrilling, sexy and intriguing. They take the myths and stories that have already been written and loved and weave their talent, ideas, and twists to make this such a vividly beautiful story.

Maximus is on a quest to find the love of his life, his demon lover, Kara. She has been taken by Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, and Maximus must enter a realm he has no business in to save her. He enlists the help of Kara's Grandfather Giovanni who has incredibly escaped Hell once before and immediately agrees to serve as Max's guide and companion. The dynamic between Gio and Max is so sweet and enjoyable. They are literally clawing and fighting their way through the Underworld as allies on the same mission and form a unique friendship along the way. They encountering endless obstacles to face Hades and his wrath and hopefully bargain for Kara's soul. Meredith and Angel do a fantastic job painting Hell so vividly. It's so easy to imagine I too was facing off against creatures like Charun, Mantus, & Cerberus in the cold underworld. What is also a guiding light for Maximus is Kara herself, visions of her he can't explain but knows are real. Their bond runs so deep that even when they dream they can be truly one. When Kara sees and feels that same power, she embraces it and gains renewed strength and hope to fight her dark fate. While Kara is the captive of Hades, she also feels like certain parts of her Hell are calling to her and somehow she seems to be embracing new powers she can't explain. Hades will seemingly stop at nothing to get what he wants while Kara is doing everything she can to salvage her mind and soul against her dark God. I don't know if I am the only one but I found myself liking and almost admiring Hades and his determination and power. Whether it is dark, evil, or depraved; I truly felt drawn to him. Kara and Maximus's love and devoting to each other unleash a force that is strong enough to withstand anything and now that force needs to protect them and all of LA from Hades' wrath.

While there is so much that happens in this book there were a few things that surprised me, the biggest being the ending. While it was a heart pounding ending it is not one I expected. I expected THE conclusion. I was expecting all the answers. I also felt we didn't see nearly enough of Zeus or Nancy, Jesse, Kell or Victoria and especially Jaden. Even with these few negatives in my eyes, it was still so well written and is still such a special series! Meredith and Angel continue to be two of my top and just read authors and I highly recommend this series.

"Wow what a journey this story takes us on. Fate of Storms begins just as Hades has stolen Kara into Dis and left Maximus desolate to find her. As Maximus storms into the depths of hell to find Kara is it is as if my mythology and Greek studies classes have come to life with Charon and Minos to boot. As much as this is a mission it is also a coalesce of love stories: Kara and Maximus, Hades and Persephone, Giovanni and Charlena, Zeus and Karen.. ""Love is always what matters most."" Kara learns more about her gifts and her benefactor and I for one, cannot wait to see what happens next in their story.

Maximus is my new ruler, the king of my soul, the holder of my heart, the hero of my survival."" ~ Kara" ~Cindy

4.25 stars--FATE OF STORMS is the third instalment in the contemporary, adult BLOOD OF ZEUS paranormal/fantasy/ mythological romance series co-authored by Meredith Wild and Angel Payne. FATE OF STORMS is the continuing saga of university student Kara Valari and professor Maximus Kane. FATE OF STORMS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book two HEART OF FIRE.

NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kara and Maximus) FATE OF STORMS follows Kara Valari as she is abducted by Hades, for breaking his laws but Kara is no simple mortal but a demi-demon whose heritage is much more than anyone could have imagined. Desperate to find the woman he loves, Professor Maxiumus Kane, aka the son of Zeus, taps Kara’s grandfather for help in an effort to enter through the gates of H*ll but Hades isn’t willing to give up Kara without a fight, or a soul in exchange for her hard fought, yet magically induced freedom. As Maximus and Kara struggle to reconnect in the Underworld, Hades is ensuring that upon their return to the Earth plane, nothing will be as it once was.

FATE OF STORMS blends the mythology of the Greek gods with modern day romance. Hades is not happy that his world has been invaded but the gods and goddesses are set to ensure that Maximus and Kara escape with their lives. Meredith Wild and Angel Payne pulls the reader into an intriguing, fast paced and energetic journey of love and desperation, betrayal and revenge, power and control wherein a sacrifice will be made but our heroine will discover that she is more than the daughter of a demon with powers of her own.

Fate of Storms picks up immediately where Heart of Fire left off. Kara and Max have been separated by Hades, and Max will stop at nothing to get Kara back.
World building, Fantasy, Hell. Those are the three words I wrote down while reading Fate of Storms. The three bigguns that I knew I wanted to include in my review.
World building & Hell: Holy Hades. Toto we aren’t in Kansas anymore. I felt like I was truly there with Maximus on his journey to save Kara, like I was there with Kara in Hell. The vision, the detailing, all magnifique. I can see everything in Dis, if I reach out I can feel it.
Fantasy: I have to say, as far as I know, Angel Payne and Metedith generally write in an urban, current, modern setting. LA, of course, being key in this series. But HELL. HADES. GODS. DEMONS. WHAT? I CANNOT. Two of my favorite authors writing in a more fantasy/high fantasy-esque setting? I die. I LIVE. I need more.
AND THE END?? WHAT? Plot twist, cliff hanger ending, say what? More High Fantasy/Mythology say whatttttt?
I do wish we had seen a little more of Hell. We kind of got fast tracked to move the story along but the fantasy lover in me wanted more journey and danger and fighting.
Without giving too much away, Blood of Zeus, Kara and Max’s story, is not done and over with. We have a title for book 4, Bridge of Souls. Which you just have to read Fate of Storms to get that title because it means so much more than you would think.

I have been dying for this book after finishing book two and jumping back into the world of Maximus and Kara.

Maximus is trying to find Kara and it is not an easy journey, but he knows that it is worth it if it means that Kara will be back with him and she is safe form Hades. The journey is full of twists and turns right up until the very end. The love between Maximus and Kara is one that is truly written in the stars and their love extends beyond the real world. I couldn’t get enough of these two!

I love all the Greek Mythology that is referenced throughout this story and the entire series. It is a great addition and just adds so much to the story and to the world that has been created by the authors. I hope there is more in this world in the future!

If you’re looking for a romance that has fantasy elements and mythology this is one to read.

Fate of Storms provides the reader with the culmination of the curse that was placed on the family members of Giovani Valari. Meredith Wild and Angel Payne, writing as a team, take us into hell as we follow along with Kara's worst nightmare come true. We see Maximus struggling to find any way to get to Kara to save her, including begging Giovani for his help. The imaginations of this writing team are beyond compare in the creation of the doorway between the realms.

Knowing Dante's Inferno is not a pre-requisite to reading Fate of Storms, but it does help to have some background knowledge of the various circles of hell and the characters that Maximus and Giovani encounter during their visit to the underworld. This book keeps the reader on the edge until close to the end, wondering if Kara can be saved, and if she will be safe for the rest of her life. Will she and Maximus have a lifetime together to love and cherish? How will their story end.

As a reader I have been 100% thrilled with this entire series, anxiously waiting for each new installment. I want this series to never end, and would dearly love to see this series made into movie(s). Of course, Brock O-Hurn has to play Maximus in any movie of this series! 😉😍

If you have not read this series, or this book, what are you waiting for? Go get the series now! You won't regret it.

That was definitely a satisfactory conclusion
to this series. It was a wild and emotional ride.
The love between Maximus and Kara is out of this
world. The depths that Maximus went through
to get Kara back made me almost ugly-cry.
He literally went to hell and back. Kara held strong
and believed, never lost hope even when she was
Hades' captive. This was definitely one of my favorite
star-crossed/mythology book.

Always together. Never Apart. Joined as one heart...

Maximus went through Hell literally to save his one and only love Kara. She is his everything in his universe. Following him on his journey, you feel all the torment and agony as he makes his way to her. The words expressed describing his plight were so moving, I felt my heart grieving for him.

In Hades' clutches Kara endeavours to not give up hope that her Maximus will come to save her. But time is running out. Maximus and Kara are truly the best for each other and they will face all obstacles in order to be together.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the book.
I'm enjoying the series very much. I've always loved Greek mythology and was intrigued by it so I find this modern view on all of it very refreshing. The storyline is getting more interesting in each chapter and there's a promise of more at the end of the book. I'm looking forward to the next book for sure.

Fate of Storms

Storms?! Be prepared to be blown away by the third book in this series, Fate of Storms!! Professor Max is on a journey to find Kara after Hades takes her from a party they were attending at the end of book 2! What ensues in this book is a breathtaking, heart stopping and very intense journey through Hell all in the name of love. The writing in this a book is masterful and has you turning pages so quickly just to see what happens next!! If you love Mythology, you will love all the references in this book to the gods and goddesses mentioned. As a reader, you can’t ask for anything better than this book, series, to help take you out of the everyday and hurl you deeply into the supernatural!! I love how they take the modern everyday references and inject the supernatural into it as if it is an everyday occurrence!! And it’s seamless too!! Amazing — just amazing!! Mind blown!! And I’m hoping for even more to this series - hopefully the authors will expand this series for us and give us more of this brilliant storyline!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Blood if Zeus trilogy has been an exciting read. I rarely read Greek mythology books but I knew enough to be able to follow along with all the characters.  Even if you know nothing about Greek mythology, the authors did a fantastic job describing the scenes and who the characters are.  They seem to have taken some liberties to make the story their own, but have kept many of the concepts and lore in tact.

Fate of Storms is action packed and full of suspense. While Kara has been dragged to the underworld by Hades, Maximus follows to bring her back.  Their electric connection continues to guide them to each other making their love even stronger.

While I enjoyed the story, I did find parts of it hard to follow. There is simply a lot going on and a lot of characters to keep track of.  It has an emotional ending which, in my opinion, leaves the possibility for more books to come in this world. The trilogy has definitely ended buy who knows, maybe there will be more to come.

This is the third book in the Blood of Zeus series and I just cannot get enough. It is not a standalone and the books must be read in order. The story picks up with Kara taken away from Maximus and doing her time with Hades in the Underworld. Not one to lose his lady love, Maximus is on a quest to find her. What ensues is a perfect blending of mythology and modern times with a dramatic flair that these authors prove their writing prowess is second to none. The vivid pictures created by the words makes one feel as if he/she is transported right alongside Kara and Maximus. There is no way to stay detached from these characters and their trials as the pages turn. There are twists and turns, that lead to some shocking outcomes and you may find yourself breathless at times. This book proves that love knows no bounds and I look forward to see where this journey takes Kara and Maximus. I highly recommend this book and the series.
