Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.
Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.
Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.
The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.
The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
An ancient darkness forces Kandrakar into mystical lockdown, and W.I.T.C.H to deal with a sudden surge in their powers - and if having to delve into their pasts wasn't strange enough, the Oracle has tasked Matt with coaching them?! Gnone begins a new and exciting arc that promises plenty of fun, frights and twists. Can Matt and the girls figure out how to reign in their abilities before all of Heatherfield learns the truth?
There were some great parts to this book but the flow and order in which things happened was a bit too choppy and made the story’s faster paced than what they actually were. If I were reading each chapter separately, maybe I wouldn’t have felt this way. I think that certain heavier topics like Taranee finding out she is adopted and Vanessa telling Will she’s pregnant we’re rushed. I hope we get to see Taranee having more time to come to terms with it in the next couple of books. I can’t even understand what’s going on with Matt. Like when did he become some secret spy for the oracle and kandrakar? Right after his tour with Karmilla? And Wills just letting him not talk to her about their relationship? She’s really given up without an explanation? I enjoyed seeing the girls on their vacations, especially Irma and Hay Lin’s. I was happy with this new character Stephen that Irma seems to know already from some trip. I just hope he won’t replace her other guy friends. Speaking of guy friends for some reason I thought Peter would be moving in with Joel and co. But nope. And last but not least the Jensen academy auditions? Why? Since when did any of them want to do anything like that. It was supposed to be Taranee’s thing. Now apparently the centre is about all kinds of entertainment training! Oh wait I forgot, the oracle seems to be making bad decisions and Yan Lin yet again is the only sane person in kandrakar, and the new villain seems weak! I don’t want to get bored with this series especially when these chapters are called new power. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how the next two go…

I had so many problems with this book! From the retcon of Matt, to the general logic of the book.
While the idea isn't bad, this book was a mess. Chapter 3 was a filler episode, and it also told us that a lot of time had passed, considering the speed of the pregnancy. A lot of time where the girls just hung around, not training, and not communicating any of the things that needed to be spoken about! And I had a lot of issues with Taranee's ARC. Or more precicely, the reasoning behind some of the choices made. Nothing of it made sense to me.
I also had trouble with the art style. I know it's been American manga all the way, but this volume felt extreem in many ways. The girls were drawn like children in some panels, and very weirdly in other, not to mention their faces often looked blank.
While nostalgia may have clouded my eyes and impacted my opinion on the earliest books, I don't have any relationship to this ARC from before.
Not my favorite, I feel there were quite a few out of character moments & some redconning of a character which im just not a fan off. Curious where this story-arc will go.
Interesting revelations in this volume. Some felt a little contrived and others I wish had been explored more thoroughly. I do like the new costumes, though, and I'm interested to see where the story goes from here.
I'll be honest. I wasn't a huge fan of the stuff with Matt in this one. Did that throw anyone else off and feel unnecessary to you too? Because that role could have been fulfilled by someone else. It almost feels like it goes against previously established plotlines in the earlier books, but okay.
But regardless, I really enjoyed the book. I love the idea of each of the girls having to go explore a part of themselves to truly harness their powers. And I am intrigued by the antagonist of this arc despite not knowing much of anything about her.
Some of the costume changes were a bit pointless. I know it was explained away in the plot, but I almost feel like it's REALLY because their midriff was showing before. Although I love Hay-Lin's new outfit more than her old one.
As always, it was fun being back in this world. I missed it. That's why the flaws didn't bother me. I'd been waiting to read this and finally was able to. I also really loved the third chapter. We got to see a little bit of life away from their powers. Just good old fun and family.
Overall, another solid addition to the series. But I'm biased and adore these, so nothing can really take away from those five stars unless it does something DRASTIC.
I do not know if the drawings are as beautiful as before or even better, but we feel that there is a big narrative change! The girls evolve into the final version of their respective Pokémon (so to speak), and they must tame an ultra powerful magic, approaching a little closer to adulthood.
However, I have never seen girls so weak and arrogant. This passage is as short as a blink of an eye but has not gone unnoticed. They go through all the stages of maturity, you have to be a little silly before ripening.
But that was just the beginning! What I loved is that every girl has an entire chapter about her and the acquisition of her new power. This arc marks a definitive turning point in the story and the enemy of this 7th part is described - and I think it’s true - as the worst obstacle of girls so far. No element of the past is left behind, so I did not feel this nostalgia for the first volumes. On the contrary, the evolution was necessary and comes at a perfect time, for the reader as for the characters.
From what I remember from reading this as a kid, the series starts going a bit downhill from now on. It's still fun, it still has great parts and I love following the characters around. But I have been noticing a lot of inconsistencies with plot (e.g. why are Yan Lin and Endarno no longer on one level with the oracle?), timeline (SPEED pregnancy!), characters (wtf Matt?!) and drawings (the girls sometimes looking like little kids, lots of continuity mistakes with outfits).
On the other hand, this volume also contained one of my favorite episodes to reread so far: The holiday episode was straight up a delight! The vibes, the nostalgia, it captures teen culture of the late 2000's so perfectly and was just filled with so much joy and *life*! I fully admit to briefly tearing up, just because it was so beautiful. :)
