This was cute. It’s all about this tv star trying to escape from a celebrity weight loss reality tv show and ends up at a bachelor tv show where the guy to marry at the end is an alien.
This was quite funny and also cute. Nothing special but a quick good read.
What I liked about this is that these aliens look like humans because their normal form is foggy and to walk around earth the build humans body’s for them, therefor there is people actually thinking these aliens are not real but just people who pretend. I thoughts kind of a new and interesting idea.

😬 Big yikes.

This story is unbelievable from beginning to finish. The premise is VERY silly and takes A LOT of go-with-it-ness. It is really just impossible to suspend this much disbelief. Over and over again, the silliness and craziness of these shenanigans is kind of unforgivable. I was going to lay is all out and explain all the instances of silliness, but who even has that kind of time.

Aced it! It was great. Margot Lane an actress in a popular show is told she has to lose 25 lbs or they are going to kill off her character. She is sent to a fat farm outside of the town Stargazer. She is only a size 10 anyway! After about a week she decides she has had enough being told what to eat, how to exercise & will power. She is so out of here! As soon as no one is looking she makes her escape. She makes it through the trees & comes across a bike that she sees outside a house. She hopes no one is to attached to it but swears to send money to whoever lives there when she takes it. Going down a hill the tire deflates but she makes it to a gas station. Kent has snuck out of the theater with one of the camera men to say hi to his friend. On his way out he sees a beautiful woman pushing her bike up & offers to fix the tire. When she tells him she has no money he tells her he will fix it anyway. She asks for his phone number to pay him back but he doesn't have a phone. So he asks if he can have hers she then remembers all her things are at the fat farm she just fled. She doesn't have a phone either. Kent & his driver get into their car & leave. Margot gets on her bike & goes into town. She tries to blend into the crowds keeping her head down, hoping no one will recognize her. She is standing outside an old theater seeing a lot of young women standing around holding numbers. She hears someone yell "Margot!" She turns to see a man grab a young girl by the arm making her drop her number & drag her off telling her so is not going to be part of this." Still holding the number wondering what is going on, she hears "Margot Chase... Number 7!" She realizes it is the number she is holding & plays along taking the girl's place. She is led to a stage & when seat a woman starts asking her questions about what she guesses had been the other girl's life. Kent had been watching not paying too much attention all along thinking about the woman he had met at the gas station. Now here she is! She is stumbling through the interview wondering what she has gotten herself into when the woman interviewing her asks her something about when she decided she wanted to marry an alien & found out she was on a reality contest show kind of like an alien Bachelor show. Everything was being recorded & being shown. How was she going to hide here? Kent is happy she is here but confused. Every alien has their own "power" if you will. His is seeing lies, kind of like a red fog. Up on stage she is nothing like the sincere, polite woman he met at the gas station. Everything she answered Olivia in the interview was a lie. Although she was untruthful he asks that they keep her on, he had detected no malice in her lies. When she gets back to the room she is placed in & meets with her room mate she is afraid her cover is blown. Ruby swears she has seen her before, then when they get to talking she tells her her thing about aliens & an old sci-fi space show she loved. Marot had a couple small pieces on that show in season 2! Ruby doesn't seem to notice. Margot calms down & they get to know each other. She finds out there is a get together tonight. The other Margot's things are there but a little tight for her. They get dressed & go down to the party. They run into a few of the other contestants who are not to nice. Margot, used to this kind of thing from Hollywood tells Ruby to just ignore them. She sees Kent & they meet up, he gets called to wardrobe. She thinks he is one of the crew until later when he is introduced formally as the alien they will be trying for. The next day, on set they are all shown to a cooking station & told to make a cake in 2 hrs. Some of the women have never done anything without a recipe! Margot still trying to not draw too much attention to herself, doesn't want to get sent home either. She makes a gingerbread cake she used to make with her grandpa. She gets the cake in the oven & is getting ready to start her frosting. She takes a quick look at Ruby to see how she is doing. She sees Ruby getting her cakes out, one is about to fall off the table while the other cracks in her hands. Margot rushes over to push the cake back on the table & while Ruby is about to start crying she tells her to take the broke cake, cut it differently, strengthen the frosting to glue it back together & make a heart out of it for the top layer. They smell something burning! Margot rushes over to get her cakes out of the oven & see if she can salvage them. They are not too bad, she makes her frosting & finishes her cakes. When the time is up, Margot is told hers are a little overdone but she is not the worst, she stays. Ruby's cake was well like by the judges by taste & design. Kent & his brothers Parker & Wayne watching the live screen grow more puzzled by Margot. She helped her friend, & risked losing her cake. None of the judges had seen her help Ruby. Ruby told Margot if they had given her a chance to say anything she would have told them. Margot told her to not say anything. She had wanted Ruby to win. Kent was watching, waiting to see the red fog appear when people tell lies, but none appeared. Astonished, he told his brothers she was telling the truth. Kent found out he had to go somewhere with each girl with a camera crew. Some of them like Regina it was very trying. He was getting very sure Margot was his mate. He knew he had promised to marry the one chosen from the show but he didn't know if he could if it wasn't Margot. What was he going to do? When he finally gets to go with Margot, they are walking down by the lake, he kisses her & then she remembers she is not supposed to be drawing attention to herself & runs off. Later after every one is asleep he throws pebbles at her window to get her to come walk with him privately, no cameras. She comes down, they start talking & asks about her cake. She tells him she doesn't want to marry him. It hurts, he is certain she is his mate & he can see that she is lying. But she continues to say as a prize. That is the truth he can see. That gives him hope. He tells her she has to win because is she will accept him he wants her to be his mate. She is a little stunned. He asks her to think about it. They are out into the forest away from anyone. He kisses he & wants to see his mate. He decides to pleasure her. When she tris to do the same for him he tells her that would seal their mating bond, so they cannot do that until she accepts him. They agree to go in separately so know one will see them. One her way in she sees one of the camera men in the woods & wonders if Kent was lying to her, trying to get more film for the show or if her truly meant anything he said to her. The camera man Lex was trying to sneak into Olivia's office to get some information. His show that showed everyone how scams like this weren't real got canceled & he was going to prove there were no such things as aliens! This was so stupid! Olivia had been on that show with him. As soon as the world decided aliens were real his hoax busters show gets trashed! He saw Margot go out & tried to stay quiet. He knows she looks very familiar. Margot sneaks back in & Ruby asks where she's been. Looking at her she says she really looks familiar, wondering if they've ever met before. Margot decides to come clean, she has her sit down & asks if she can keep a secret. Ruby says yes. She starts by reminding Ruby about the tv show Space Love she used to love & Ruby recognized her, then she placed her in her latest show A Lions Game. Margot tells her everything from the ultimatum of losing weight to how she got here. Ruby is a little astonished to say the least. Margot asks her if she will keep her secret. She agrees, Margot tells her she owes her one. Ruby tells her no, remember her cake? What are friends for? The closer it comes to the end & more girls are eliminated, the more Kent likes her. There is a scavenger hunt, Ruby & Margo team up working together they finish first. Regina right behind them snatches the winning piece right out of Ruby's hand & refuses to give it back. Margot demands she give it back, when she doesn't, Margot punches her, getting herself disqualified. Regina hits the ground & Margot gives her the peach the winner was to retrieve to win. Lex, the camera man who is trying to undermine everything finally figures out who Margot is. She is Margot Lane! The actress from A Lion's Game! He had heard some rumor she was getting lipo done somewhere. Maybe this was his chance to prove this was all a hoax. He goes in to talk to Kent. He tells him who she is. Kent doesn't know really what is going on except that they might have been saying her name wrong. Lex elaborates trying to get Kent to slip up & say something. He tells him she is not who she was pretending to be. She was supposed to be getting lipo done somewhere. Then he has to go & explain that. Trying to ask Kent isn't he mad she tried to trick him? Looking a little dazed he goes off. Margot runs off the set she needs to find Kent & talk to him. It is a long way back to town. By the time she gets there it is late she hears talking & things going on in the back yard. She goes around but sees Kent in his tux dancing with Regina dressed in black lace. She hears them talking & from what Kent is saying it sounds like Regina is going to be his choice. Margot turns to leave but Kent sees her & tries to stop her. She just keeps going, she's out of here. A few days later Margot is home thanks to a kind fry cook in Stargazer who let her use his phone & a plane ticket from her mom. After cleaning a few days she finally calls her manager. Sooner or later she's going to have to talk to him. She tells him she left the fat farm & is not going back. If she loses her job because of it, that's too bad. If he wants to dump her for that she'll understand. He stops her & tells her he would never fire her for that. Also he wants to know where she has been? Hasn't she seen the media? She told him they took her phone at the fat farm. He tells her A lot of people feel the same way about her losing her job because of her losing weight is unfair. The producer who sent her to the fat farm got fired, the show will double her salary if she will come back. He tells her she stood up for herself & got some well earned respect. He's proud of her but asks her not to disappear again, she scared him & his wife half to death. There are a few more offers for her as soon as she is done with the reality show. She asks how he knew about that. He tells her Olivia called him. They know who she is now & want her to come back. She explains about being disqualified for punching Regina. He tells her they probably want some closing footage or something. She goes back to Stargazer. When she gets to the theater Ruby is very happy to see her. They get her to wardrobe & ready for the set when she sees Regina & mouths sorry to her. Regina mouths me too. Olivia says they are getting the final four ready. When Margot hears her name she wonders how this is happening, she was disqualified. Olivia says they need to say goodbye to some of them. Ruby's name comes up & a video plays that shows Ruby punching Regina at the peach farm. How had they gotten Regina to agree? Why? They ask Kent to come down. Olivia starts to say it might be difficult... He walks straight to Margot. Happy she came back, he asks her to marry him. She agrees. Olivia asks what their plans are. Kent tells her they don't have any yet. Olivia ends the show. They go to celebrate, Margot learns Kent's brother Parker seems to like Ruby. That makes her happy. They go to the Hotel room Olivia gave Kent the key card to. The only way the aliens permanently stay human is when they find their mate & click with them. She is curious about Regina & he explains that he had talked to Olivia telling her that Margot was his mate. She told him she would help keep her from being eliminated but they couldn't ley anyone know. They had to make the show look good. When Margot punched Regina, Kent was devastated that she would be cast out. Ruby heard them talking & knew they were in love. She offered to take the fall for her. When Regina found out who Margot was & knew she would get more screen time ( the party in the back yard) she agreed to do over the scene at the peach farm & not give Margot up. They then complete their bond & Margot finds out a mate sometimes gains her mates power. Kent's she finds out is being able to see lies. They meet Ruby, Parker & Wayne at the Stargazer Cafe. Ruby asking to see the ring again. Olivia stops by, Wayne asks her to join them. She tells Ruby they want to do a sequel with her as wedding planner. Margot tells her she was coming anyway as maid of honor. Wayne holds out a cheese stick & gets Olivia to take a bite. Margot sees that thinking there maybe something brewing. Parker can't take his eyes off Ruby. They talk about a title for the next show, comparing it to an old movie. The guys haven't seen it. Sometime they'll show it to them.

When producers send reality show star Margot Lane to a health spa to lose a few pounds, she's supposed to lay low and keep it a secret. But when she busts out of fat camp, she accidentally ends up in ANOTHER reality show, So You Think You Can Marry an Alien. It's not a good place to hide out when you're on the lam--especially when you've developed a strong attraction to the star of the show, Kent, the alien. He needs to "click" with his soulmate, and Margot seems to be the one for him. So You Think You Can Marry An Alien was a fast paced, charming read. At times, laugh-aloud funny. Nice twists and turns. Great HEA.

A fast paced, enjoyable and engaging read
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I enjoyed from start to finish, it was extremely well written with each of the characters having a wonderful background. The plot was simply wonderful and the way in which the storyline plot was written ensured that from the time I started the book I was unable to put it down.
I read it one sitting and had a long, late but very enjoyable night of reading.
Margot is an actress that has been sent to a special camp to lose weight unfortunately her will power is a little short and she has a yearning for particular foods, she is also rather adept at sneaking out of the camp without anyone noticing.
The prize for doing well and losing the most weight is to marry an alien, who would have thought that when she snook out she would find him at the gas station she decided to visit for her illicit snack.
Boy oh boy!! She is totally blown away by the very attractive hunk and when she realises, he is the same alien she once saw at the gas station, that had helped her when she’d needed assistance.
Kent is a bachelor and is surprised when he is on the show and discovers that the woman, he helped at the gas station is in the competition to win a mate, will she be able to stick to the restrictions put in place now?
He already knows that she has broken out of the camp al least once, will she have the will power, the determination and the will to win.
He can only hope and wait and see what the eventual outcome will be!
This is a very enjoyable read the characters and plot are great, there is action, laughter and a certain amount of naughty behaviour as well, everything you would expect from these wonderful authors books.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Actress Margot Lane thought she had made it - fans, money, a dream role in a hit TV show but they then send her to an exclusive celebrity fat camp on the east coast of the US so she decides to bust out of there. Persued Margot takes an opportunity from a mistaken identity but then realises that she is actually hiding on the set of a new reality TV show that has captured the imagination of the entire planet. The star of the show is a gorgeous man who is hard to resist. Kent and his brothers travelled from the planet Aerie to find human female mates. As part of that, Kent has agreed to star in a reality TV show trying to show human men how great alien men are (and to find himself a mate). When he meets the mysterious Margot he begins to understand his own cravings and demands. Can Margot keep her identity under wraps when the cameras are on? Or will Kent help her do everything she thinks she can’t?

This was a strange alien finding his mate book. I found the finding his mate reality TV show very in keeping with current trends but I did find the format a little strange with all of the tests they had to do. I loved the way that Margot helped her roommate and friend and that over time it was noticed. It seemed to take Margot and Kent a while to work out what was happening which was a bit irritating. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

I read this book for fun, and I feel like it started out strong (for a ridiculous romance) but about halfway through it just got to be too ridiculous for me. The idea behind the plot was great and I found the characters pretty likeable, but the instantaneous falling in love between two so very different individuals? Nope, too much of a stretch for me. If you're looking for something fun and short and you're really good at suspension of reality then give it a go, but this is definitely not a book that you want to take very seriously. (Internal monologue: If you're looking for a serious romance would you really pick this book up at all??? Probably not. Am I writing this review for the wrong audience? Am I being too judgemental? Quite possibly. Should I change my review? Nah, that would take more time than I want to put into it...)

I really liked the story 'So You Think You Can Marry An Alien' by Tasha Black. It was cute and a lot of fun to read. The characters were very easy to like, and the plot was original and funny. The main lady in the story is an actress that is sent to a "fat camp" to lose weight in order to keep her series she is starring in, but she soon rebels from that atmosphere and escapes. Without a phone or her money, she takes refuge with a contest in the village. She soon finds out that it is a TV reality show about vying for the chance to marry an alien. The alien in question is the handsome man that helped her on the way into town. There is an instant attraction between the two so the woman decides to stay and see it through.

This is the first book in the Stargazer Alien Reality Show Brides Series. I love Tasha Black's writing. Margot and Kent's story is fun, entertaining, and sweet. Margot is a beautiful curvy woman. Kent is handsome and caring. The secondary characters (Ruby, Olivia, Parker and Wayne) are great, and intriguing. I like the brotherhood between Kent, Parker and Wayne. Mason Lloyd did a great job with the narration, as always! I like these Series with intertwined characters. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, My Big Fat Alien Wedding, Parker and Ruby's story.

I almost DNF this book but ended up finishing - it was free on Hoopla so I gave in. I think it might be more connected to the time it was written than I thought about - it's probably written for those people that love reality and dating shows, and as I don't like those at all it wasn't written for me. It's not anywhere as good as the other fated mates books I've been obsessed with for the past couple of months, but it was a similar plot line so if the other alien romances are too "spicy" for you or you like. more cutesy books, you may want to try this, for free on Hoopla.

Things I liked about this book: a size ten heroine who refuses to lose weight, a male character who loves her body as is, and the commentary on shows that make people humiliate themselves on TV.
That being said I wanted more sexy fun times. I know this a novella and it definitely feels like one. This might just be me but I wanted more because I liked the heroine so much.
All in all, this book was cute. I liked what it was trying to do story wise.

For the first time ever, I think I'm in love with reality TV. I spent last night on set with Margot and Kent and enjoyed every minute. If Fated Mates and Interplanetary Relations are your go-to, this is a must read!

When Margot breaks out of fat camp, the last thing she expects is to hide out on the set of a hot new reality show. Kent has a body engineered to please and that's exactly what he does, too bad it's for the cameras, or is it?

Quirky title to go with a funny and romantic story. This is a standalone romance and so much more. It is best to read the entire series (beloved characters, rich in detail, make the story so much better). In this first book, a TV star stumbles into a chance to marry a alien. A fun book with elements of romance/steam and hints of upcoming books. Bravo!

I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"So You Think You Can Marry an Alien" by Tasha Black is a delightful and imaginative read that kept me entertained from start to finish. The unique premise of intergalactic romance adds an exciting twist to the genre. The characters are engaging, and the author's world-building skills shine through. I deducted one star because I felt that the pacing could have been a bit tighter in some parts. Nonetheless, it's a fun and lighthearted story that fans of sci-fi romance will surely enjoy!

Margot Lane & Kent

Kent is an alien from the planet Aerie. He and his brothers are on Earth to find their mates, which is what they need to solidify they're connection with their human bodies. Kent has been talked into doing a reality show to find his mate.

Margot is an actress on the run from a fat camp. She ends up on the reality show under another Margot's identity.

She and Kent have a connection from the beginning, but things are not smooth sailing into HEA land.

This was an interesting take on alien romance. These 'aliens' were once a gaseous being put into a hot human body. Now one of the brothers is on an Alien Game Show to find himself a wife!
Plot twist - they also have fated mates and 1 oddly specific super power. Book one - he can see lies.
The FMC is human and some shenanigans go down for these two to meet. I like the interactions with all of the characters - just wish we got more depth! It was a fun plot!

Bond to the Alien

Tasha Black love of Aliens has us all entranced in Stargazer's magic to bring the aliens from Aiere to life. We find Margot Lane's chance to run away from a mandated fat camp into Kent's loving arms. This was a very sweet story. Tasha continues to build an awesome storyline. I am looking forward to reading more of this series. Love your talent Tasha.⚘⚘⚘⚘

Pink Lies

I enjoyed the game show aspect even though I knew participating was not the best idea for Margot. I loved how she came to love herself enough to speak up. Kent seemed to be really nice and patient in spite of his special skill. It all worked out and that was a good, strategic game play at the end.

The Stargazer Aliens return with a reality TV show!
The first in a new series—but also part of the Multi-author Intergalactic Dating Agency series and a spin-off of Tasha’s Stargazer Alien Mail Order Brides series—So You Think You Can Marry an Alien takes the pressure of intergalactic relations tied to true love and ramps it up even further. By making winning an Aerie man for a husband the prize of a reality dating show where women compete to be the next alien’s bride.
Margot, our heroine, is a semi-famous actress who has been relegated to a fat camp in order to keep a dream of a role. But it doesn’t take long for her to bust out of the cult-like camp and make a break for civilization. And, as luck would have it, she winds up in Stargazer and meets Kent, who comes to her rescue. Then, she somehow manages to accidentally take the place of a reality show contestant.
Kent and his brothers, Parker and Wayne, are working with the production company at Sage’s recommendation and doing their parts to improve Earth’s understanding and opinion of the Aerie aliens. To his surprise and delight, the woman he met by chance in town turns up as one of the contestants to win his heart. Only…his special gift—a unique power that he developed when he took human form, like his brothers—tell him something counter to what he knows about Margot.
Still, much as the pair try to be cautious and not dive right in, they’re drawn together time and again, as if they’re truly meant to be, no matter what reservations they might have about each other.
I’m loving this new addition to the Stargazer universe, and this new trio of Aerie brothers is delightful. And the reality show is an excellent backdrop to equally create and dispense with misunderstandings. While still set in Stargazer, the Aerie home base, the show completely changes the feel of the story while maintaining the heart. There’s plenty of drama—as can only be expected with a reality show and a case of mistaken identity—steam, and good old-fashioned romance despite the cameras and sometimes scripted interactions. There’s also the additional POV of a crew member determined to throw a wrench into the works of any goodwill the show might generate.
I canNOT wait to check out Parker and Wayne’s stories in My Big Fat Alien Wedding and Haunted Alien Honeymoon, and I’m excited to see the Stargazer universe continue to expand. Margot was endearing and so real, despite the fact that she’s an actress and been mistaken for someone else, and Kent is so earnest and chivalrous, like all his brothers. I’m certain that Parker and Wayne’s stories will be every bit as compelling to read, and I plan to get on finding out right away!

This was a fun read, I found Margot to be a strong, take charge, kind of woman, I loved that she stood up for her principals and I enjoyed the alien element to the story. Kent and his brothers were so cute-looking human but not really understanding human sayings and ideas. Looking forward to reading about the brothers romances.

Margot & Kent

Margot is a Hollywood actress who has been sent to weight loss camp. She decides to escape one day and winds up in Stargazer, Pennsylvania. This is the town where aliens frost arrived on Earth. By shear accident, Margot winds up taking another Margot's spot on a reality dating show. And from that point the story is a fast and fun read. I really enjoyed it.

**Borrowed through Hoopla**

This was a quick and pleasant sci-fi romance. No abduction, no dystopian planet, no space battles -- just a fun story of aliens trying to adjust to life on Earth and find their mates. It is a good palate cleanser if you are used to reading dark romance.

Do I think I can marry an alien? I do. I totally do. I'm all for hot and sweet guys from other planets. And while this book was not mind-blowing, it was short and fun and so entertaining that I did not care. I loved the characters and Tasha Black is going to become my go-to author for nights during which sleep is avoiding me.

One thing I really don't care to read. When a story starts with characters doing boring stuff, that has nothing to do with getting the story moving.
It should have started with a short info, about character's lives. Then jump to them, put in place, to meet.
I quit in chapter 3.

The plot is interesting in that, it is based on false assumptions. While the two main characters hit it off from the first meeting, many indications after that seems to prove the opposite. There’s so many emotions: guilt, jealousy, regret, anger, humour and the most obvious of all....love.

This well written short read combines so many plot points I love, alien fated mates, strong female lead, and angsty romance. It’s witty while still tackling Margot’s baggage. And gorgeous alien Kent is adorable as the fish out of water. Good afternoon escape.

it was cute.

I loved the premise and I thought it was sweet! Let’s give it up for the thick FMC! This series is perfect for a pallet cleanser and it short enough that if you were scared about alien romance this would ease you into it nicely!
