An excellent book. Three simple if challenging options to do. Self talk or listening to podcasts or CDs on positive aspects of your life and change negative messages or the rut you are in.
Setting realistic goals. With 8 steps. Identify the goal Write it down Write down the date you are going to achieve the goal. List the obstacles to reaching the goal. After each obstacle, write and date the action steps you are going to take. Prioritize your focus goals. (You may have up to 20-30 goals, but focus only up to two or three each week). Review weekly your goal plan on a schedule. Reward yourself when you reach your goal.
Annoyingly the website to print out a template goal sheet does not work. First goal design a template with goals.
The last section and process is get a coach to motivate yourself.
This is a good book to develop a plan to motivate and achieve results. One book to keep in the bookshelf to go back too.
This Book WHO ARE YOU Really AND WHAT DO YOU WANT? by Mr. Shad Hemstetter is a good decent Self Help Book. You get to know much about achieving your GOALS in a pragmatic scientific way. And gives us a clear threshold of where to start it. I am practicing the methods given in this book. It is really showing good results on my path to success. The best part of the book is that it is written totally in a simple language that anyone can understand and have direct applicability which most of the Self help books fail to do. But, the book is very simple and goes around only 3 important points which are being elaborately repeated for the emphasis of the same. Overall I would suggest everyone to read at-least once.
I don’t usually get motivated by ‘motivational kind of books’ but this one really gave me a huge motivational energy, made me feel I could do anything, this book helps you figure out what do you really want and help you make it done if you consider these three steps: Self-talk , writing down your goals and get a coach! (Not by definition -though it’s better- but it’s one person who supports you and believes in you!
A great book. A very simple approach & in plain English, that easily communicates the author's points. This is definitely a book that I will be coming back to. Highly recommend this book if you want to improve goal-setting skills.
Content is repetitive. Nothing new. Even contradictory when writer is asking to focus on obstacles while setting goals. Unnecessary pages are filled with verbosity.
So I've read What to Say When You Talk to Yourself, The Self-Talk Solution and now this book. I recommend reading at least one of those before reading this book because you will gain maximum benefit that way from this book. This type of book actually gives the steps needed to accomplish any goal you set out for yourself. You truly come to learn and know yourself and get a systematic reliable approach to making your goals happen! I highly recommend this book because it gives the theory, strategy and tactics all in one. You're not left wondering what it all means at the end of the day. This also provides one of the strongest foundations for success with any other book and endeavor in life because everything requires some goal. This is the book!

This is one to keep to going back to. What do you want and how do you get it? All written in plain positive words about how easy it is to change your mindset. I will be reading and retreading this again and again!
