A painful read, reading such a wonderful creation as what was given them be ruined by nuance-less, tone deaf, crime gang fiction by numbers. The only selling points are the universe and style set up by the original creators. To bring an almost impossible ruin series down to the level of just below average is in itself remarkable. The bar was set too high? 4 out of 12.

Another solid volume, for what seems like the end for this series! I am sad to see it go, as every issue for this series was always entertaining and kept a good pace! As a finale for the series, it pretty much served as a good ending to it all.

A new kick-ass vigilante who isn't as smooth but cares more about her community. Usual violence and mayhem.

MY GRADE: B minus to B.

3.5 stars. I’m actually enjoying this series more than I thought I would and I’m definitely interested in how this story will end based on the ending of this volume went!

Kick-Ass meets Breaking Bad...

Patience has taken out the local gang leaders. She's got Albuquerque mostly under her rule as Kick-Ass. Things still aren't getting better, though. In fact, they're starting to spin out of control. Her brother-in-law has come out of his coma. He was already shady before the explosion in Book One. Add to that, her deadbeat husband comes back into the picture to demand custody of their kids. Russian mafia and Mexican cartels are also advancing on Kick-Ass' territory. You thought it was dark before? The choices Patience must make are drastic. You can only imagine how it's going to affect everything she's trying to build...
------------
Again, this isn't a BAD crime story. It is, however, nothing memorable. I'd almost call it an R rated Lifetime movie. It hits the notes it's supposed to hit and tugs on hearstrings when it needs to.

Bonus: Kick-Ass leaping through another window for a 3rd time...
Bonus Bonus: Some of the quickest introductions and deaths I've seen in comic books

The original series is better. This one has one girl living an impossible life with too many balls in the air. It also lacks the humour of the original.

Meh - this volume convinced me I didn't need to keep reading this series. It wasn't ever terrible, but I also stopped looking forward to my monthly issues.

Doch was wäre die Geschichte ohne starke Bilder?

Honestly this was a somewhat lack-luster semi-ending to the new kick-ass series. Too much action, not a lot of actual plot, very little character development and no real closure. The series ends with Kick-Ass vs Hit - Girl but I feel that's a mistake since Patience should have gotten a proper ending to her story here instead of ending the story in a cross-over event in my opinion. In sum, a bit of a let-down compared to the first two volumes.

Much as I like Frusin's art these stories just aren't satisfying. The payoffs aren't there or are trite, and Niles has trouble trying to establish characters as interesting antagonists/credible threats before getting them dispatched.

Repetitive in volume (how many times can one person fall for the same trap trick?) and in comparison to previous narrative developments too.

If it wasn't for the stinger promise of a returning Hit-Girl, I'd be less than enthused to continue.

An extremely quick read that I thought was going to end the series, but it finishes on something of a to be continued moment...

Another solid volume, wrapping up nicely with what Kick-Ass needed to do in order to move forward. Looking forward to the final volume (and crossover) with Hit-Girl. Recommended for fans.

I wish the Hit-Girl series could be this good, both in terms of story and visuals. This does end with a tease of a crossover, but I still have one more Hit-Girl book to read beforehand.

Just more of the same. This has turned into one of the most uninteresting revivals in a while. Jeebus, just do something original.

More of the same. Not terrible, though not particularly uplifting, either. Now, the new Kick-Ass has to deal with her brother-in-law, a drug dealer who's just come out of a coma and knows who she is, and her ex-husband, who's come back and wants custody of their children, along with battling Russian mobsters and the cartel. And it looks like Hit-Girl might be making an appearance sometime soon. The art is decent.
