Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.

Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.

Daruma pulls out his sick moves, Hachimaru does GAMER things, and the tournament arc ends as soon as it begins as we get some generic villain things and betrayal/redemption stuff. Wooo. At least this series will be over soon. I don't think this volume is as bad as some of the others... because there's less to it. It's playing tropes straight which is boring and not creative at all but we don't get stupid underwear jokes, or as many EPIC GAMER moments, so I count that as an improvement.

Hachimaru and his group find out that they have walked into a tap when Daruma's analysis AI points out that the key holder samurai that they had come searching for is only a con--man who traps samurai for their keys. As they lay into an offensive strategy, they are supported by the samurai from before, who reveals himself to be basically space police. Daruma also dips into the secret weapon held up his sleeve, and we get to see his past as well as his true form. Also, we dive into Kotsuga's past and why he holds so much contempt for samurai. While there were still a lot of new names being thrown around, the plot at least made some sense in this book. The battle scenes are, unfortunately, still a chaotic mess.

It's time for the tournament to wrap up and it's Hachimaru vs. uh...this one dude who started the whole thing. But just fighting it out would be boring, so let's throw in some treachery, lies, backstabbing, actual stabbing, cool transformations, and a planet destroying super missile.

Who authorized the Death Star?! This series is intense and kinda all over the place.

This series has 5 volumes.

Found it really hard to feel attached to this storyline, it was cool seeing Daruma in human form but other than that the story was meh, don’t know how the series is gonna conclude in just this next last volume

Très chouette tome. Pas mal d’action bien rendue. Jolie histoire des personnages secondaires. Vivement le 5

When in doubt, go with a tournament arc and/or villain redemption, right?

Reihe schreibt bzw. zeichnet.
