Same Old Same Old
Western Woods is finished Enchanted Enclave begins, this book is almost identical with just a few tweaks, adult orphan discovers they are a Witch, granted this time our heroine HAS family but they are banned from the paranormal enclave because of something that happened centuries before. Throw in a prophecy and voila the Western Woods
But still this follows the same plot points Ms Silver seems to use in the books I have read to date.
I'm afraid I won't be reading anymore, I've already read the western wood, series, why read it again!

I do love creative titles with cozy mysteries! I adore my coffee so I did enjoy a big one while reading this one ;) An easy fast read with an interesting premise in relation to magic & magical world though the mystery wasn't a difficult one. I think the main clue was dropped way too early in the story so it didn't really engage me. Filled with likeable protagonist, crazy-fun aunt, interesting setting, and intriguing magical world, Wake Up and Spell the Coffee brightened my grey cloudy world today.

Boring book. I didn't like the premise at all and there was too much pointless dialogue. Only made it halfway through. I like some of the books by this author so was surprised that I disliked this one so much.
It felt like other books I've read before, by the same author. Like all that was done was change the names and location, the same old orphan who suddenly discovers she's a witch after losing everything *YAWN*. While I tend to like that sort of format, I've recently started to get super annoyed when the entire time the MC is gasping and twittering about like a bumbling idiot. Come on, why are all these women so weak? Yes, it's shocking! GASP! Magic exists! However, this character is a mother who has gone through hard times. You'd think she would be a little tougher.
I feel bad leaving a 1-star rating. However, according to the Good Reads rating system that means I don't like the book. Since I didn't like it enough to finish it? Anyways, others love it so give it a try. This is just my opinion.

Really need some new ideas!!
Another orphan who had no idea she's a witch.. another café.. another murder blamed on the newcomer in town.. sounds familiar..
There are differences but they're not enough to render this a "different story". It's a shame because there's so many ways it could have been made into something fresh and new.
We're being introduced to new characters who all seem to resemble characters from other series. It would be great if Silver could just up her game a little with language and understanding too. She makes elementary errors that really ought to be picked up during editing.. I suspect that editing isn't being considered the priority it is or that she's not using a professional qualified editor.. if she is she needs to query their experience..

Book 1
Eliza is boring. The rest of the character's are interesting. This take on magic is not as fun because Eliza's family is exiled from the paranormal world. Some family members have no magic. Aunt Lucy is the oddball rebel who does. I am not certain if I'm going forward. 2.75 stars, happy reading!

This seemed to have promise but then it never really fleshed out its magical world enough, and as far as the mystery goes, there weren't nearly enough viable suspects to make it tense of interesting. Ultimately it was just very flat.

I tried hard, but could not get into this storyline at all. The characters were flat, the one constantly whining about being an outcast.

This is a new author to me, and I was intrigued by this book by the cover and the blurb alone. For some reason, something spoke out to me when I saw them and I thought I’d give this book a try…. After reading this book I have to say that I am honestly glad that I gave this book a chance because it was an incredible read. At the minute I’m in the mood for paranormal books, but mainly ones about witches… I have no idea why, but every now and then you can’t help but be in the mood for a certain type of genre. That being said, this week I have read 3 different series that have all been to do with witches and out of them, I have to say that this book was my favourite by far. There’s just something about this book that literally draws you in and gets you completely hooked with the story. I think that Samantha Silver is quite a talented writer and I know for a fact that I’ll be following her work now as it’s quite intriguing and it’s something that I’m very interested in.
The plot was easy to follow but whilst it was simple it was gripping and sometimes simple works a hell of a lot better, plus it’s not exactly fair on her that she’s just moved to be with her family who she’s literally just found out about and everyone in town hates her. I couldn’t fault the characters although I do feel for Eliza as her life has literally been tipped upside down in a matter of months. The one thing I do wish there was more of is the interaction between Eliza and the detective because it would be interesting seeing how the chemistry is between them, it’s clear that Eliza thinks he’s cute but we have no idea what the detective thinks. I hope in the future books Samantha does something for them or gives them more time to interact with each other.
I’m excited to see what happens next as I can tell it’s only just the beginning.

Everything seems to be going well, but then in the afternoon on the first day, things end up going a little crazy and that’s because she was holding a broom. When she ends up flying around the mall with a broom she is scared for her life as she has no idea where the broom is going to take her…. But luckily for her her Aunt Lucy from her mom’s side is there to help and she takes her back home to where the rest of her family are and ends up discovering she’s a witch….
With deciding to see how things turn out with the family, she decides to stay for a bit and the first day she’s working at the family coffee shop a customer ends up dying right there in front of her. What makes it worse is that the whole town think she’s the killer…. Will Eliza and her new family be able to help clear her name or will the town succeed at nailing her as the killer????

A new witch comes to town
Okay it does follow the path laid down by so many other books. A young woman suddenly left alone, finds she's part of a witchy family and goes to get to know them. However there are a few tweaks that add a bit of novelty, humour and newness to the read. The characters are still developing but are getting their own personalities to start showing. Our heroine though is still a bit of a timid creature and not terribly bright.
Now after the unfortunate episode at the Mall, she's gone with her new Aunt to meet the rest of the family. Everything seems great, new job, new family but this comes crashing down as one of her customers falls down dead. A suspect, a Police Chief that wants to charge her, most of the town against her and a new familiar. Will the killer be found and her name be cleared?

Entertaining new supernatural cozy mystery series
A new and entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. A family of which is live on a small Pacific Coast island of the United States. They live in a town full of humans because their family was kicked out of the supernatural towns generations ago. This is another series in one authors magical world. Many other series in this world as well. Follow along as a young woman who recently found out that she is a witch and has family she did not know about moves to the small town of enchanted Enclave and begins a new life with her extended family. Being the new person in town after someone dies everybody thinks she is responsible. So she must figure out who the culprit is. An entertaining story with great potential. Check it out

Well crafted, and strong characters.
Loved every part of this book, from the way the Eliza reacts to her discovering her new found family and life to the murder mystery case dynamics. Eliza has genuine doubts, and concerns about all that is happening in her life, it's realistic and has growth throughout the book.
Her family is quirky but all unique and I look forward to reading more about all of them. The sheriff has a legitimate reason for being out of touch, not just a hot idiot. It also looks like the series will have series long plot lines that we will get to discover more about, from the families exile to the familiar. I also am excited to learn more about how magic works in this world and how the family uses it in their lives. (especially Lucy and her Floozies!)

This story brings nothing new, but it is a clean, enjoyable, and uncomplicated read.

Cute and a little zany. Not sure how I feel about Cleo right now, but I am glad she was rescued none the less. Right now she seems less sassy and more rude, but sometimes amusing. Kaillie is the most annoying with her constant whining about getting back into the magical community though it seems she has no idea what that entails or if it is even possible. I like Eliza. She's smart and easy going. Leanne and Lucy are also great characters. Lucy is especially whacky and funny. My favorite scene dealt with the breaking and entering after being turned invisible. Highly laughable situation. Anyway, great start to a series.

And another cozy "could not finish". In addition to having the faults of the stereotypical cozy (I MUST find the killer and clear my name!!!! Even though the police aren't actually looking at her as a suspect and there is a competent detective working the case. No doubt, in the end, she'll nearly get herself killed, accidentally out the killer, and get her hot cop), this series also follows the PNR formula of three younger sisters or cousins, mostly witches, with a wacky older aunt who goes about town stirring up trouble. Sound familiar? Sound like the basis for one or two very popular and long-lived series?? There was nobody and nothing appealing enough to drag me in.

It was a great start to another mystery I. The world of paranormal witches, since I assume the I intertwine here and there from time to time Eliza will find out she is not the only and witch raised outside of her family circle. I M enjoying this different villages but do they always have to include murder mysteries to all s by amateur people can it not be something like just trouble makers? Or with her back in the family finding a way back to the paranormal realm?

Things seem to be going well until a patient comes in with her young son. The young son drops his snack size box of dry cereal. Eliza grabs the broom and dust pan for a fast clean up, but while putting the broom away, the broom has a mind of its own.

And that's a lot of fun! A nice beginning to the new series! As usual, characters who are pull you into the story immediately, they are well drawn, and you find yourself involved in the lives of our heroines and their Enchanted Enclave. A stand-alone story, but I know you will enjoy it more if you read some of the earlier series.

Better main character development than her other series.
Too much stream of consciousness writing. Intriguing back story - future books. Needs tight editing. Secondary characters too flat. A cozy mystery with good spelling and verb tenses( surprise) Perfect book for relief of stress with some funny quips while lounging in your pjs

What a fun ride!
This was a great read. Eliza being a baby witch, only because she's just found out about her powers, finding family she didn't know existed, a newcomer to a small island community, and being blamed for a murder, this book grabs you by the seat of your broomstick, and soars you all the way to the end!

Wake up and Spell the Coffee (Enchanted Enclave Mystery book 1)
This is the the second series I have read by this Author. She writes wonderful characters and great storylines in every book.. I loved her first series and I love this series. I highly recommend all her books and different series to everyone who loves paranormal characters and good witches. Diana Romano

Wake Up and Spell the Coffee book 1 of the Enchanted Enclave Mysteries
A quick and fun read. I really appreciated the humor Aunt Lucy brings to the story and dinnertime. Cleo sounds perfect for the familiar being beautiful and smart. Certainly hope Cleo got her fresh salmon as a reward. Glad Eliza finally realized she needed to trust her new family.

Got tired of the filler!
Main character kept complaining about her being a highly unlikely suspect in murder. The familiar could have showed up in story a lot sooner and. .was more entertaining then the new family

Not heavy on plot but thoroughly engaging all the same. This story has mystery and laughs as we are introduced to characters that I am looking forward to knowing better.

Short and sweet
If you want a quick cozy mystery read this is the perfect book for you!!! It was sweet and it's funny. The author has set it up very nicely for a series and a curious one at that. Ready for more.

An enchanting read
I love her style of writing. This was a great book to get me through my weekend. I wish she would have not repeated the "me and dad against the world" theme so often, but it was an enchanting book. I look forward to reading others in the series.

A bit of fun.
Not a bad first book. I liked the characters, although the plot wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for, but still enjoyable and I might pick up more in this series.

Nice cozy.
This cozy mystery is a quick read. A little rushed perhaps, but it was very enjoyable. The setting is interesting and the characters very likeable. Outcast witches, a cat familiar, an elven agent of the paranormal world; what more could you want?
