I head heard that this dual author collaboration was a fun read about two British teens and a mishap at a concert. However, I found it kind of boring, predictable and flat. I have read a lot of YA lit and this just was meh in a genre that has so many good things to offer. It's good that this only took about an hour to read.
Boring and predictable . Sally was ungrateful for her job and ‘Aunty’ should have fired her a while ago . I didn’t like how everyone treated Sally though.
"I See You Baby" is about two teens; a girl named Sally Mack and a boy named Keith Scully. Sally and Keith are both dissatisfied with their lives and are hoping to escape it all by attending the Rock Out festival. The two don't know each other beforehand and are pretty much loners in their daily lives. The journey of how these two meet is what really makes the book. This is a high-interest title and would definitely appeal to struggling readers. It would also make an excellent read aloud book because of the length. Overall, it was a nice quick read.
I enjoyed this book even though it was a short read. I liked Sally's character - feisty, brave & clumsy who is determined to make the best of things. It was a little far-fetched at times like them both ending up with somebody else's bag, stuff and pass but that kind of added to the story as well. It was very different to the longer full length books I have read by Kevin Brooks but it is still his style of writing which I really like and he has adapted that style well to this novel for reluctant readers. I will recommend this!
In this book it is fun to read because it is from two points of view. But it is not a good story and way to easy to read. This book is not long enough so at the end you want to know what will happen in the future with Sally and Keith. In i see you baby the plot is not very believable.
I understand that it's tittle and cover may be a little misleading but it's a good book with two different sides of the story which makes it even better
