Wyntersleap #2

New Beginnings at Wynter House

Rate this book
The New Year brings unexpected revelations at Wynter House.

Neva Grey’s Christmas brought several surprises. Now a shocking secret has life-changing consequences for the Wynters, as the New Year brings revelations ... and relatives to Wynter House.

It also brings Hazel Smart and Amelia Goodbody. And it’s not just Adam and Rafe Wynter who are pleased Hazel and Amelia have come to stay. Olivia Wynter will enjoy bossing nurse Hazel around and she also makes it clear Amelia – who is handling the marketing for Rafe’s new business venture – is far more suited to be her grandson’s girlfriend than Neva will ever be.

Whilst Amelia is ensconced at Wynter House, Neva is busy with her new hair and beauty salon in Merriment Bay. Perhaps she should enlist her niece, Sasha’s help because just when she thought she had found the love of her life, old secrets, ghosts from the past, and new arrivals might shatter all her dreams.

At least she has her best friend, Jo Duncan to lean on. But newly single, Jo is determined to have some fun, both at Wynter House and in Merriment Bay. And so is Adam Wynter.

This is book two in the Wyntersleap series but it can be read as a standalone. The Wyntersleap series is interlinked with the Merriment Bay series and several characters appear in both series.

Favorite Quotes:

‘Sending her to live in the village is a bit harsh, isn’t it?’ He forced a grin. ‘I thought you liked the villagers.’

… the woman looked as if she was knocking on death’s door and waiting for an answer.

My Review:

This was a sweet and entertaining installment of the ongoing Wyntersleap series, and although the book could be read as a standalone, it would be better enjoyed having read the first book in the series which introduced the reoccurring characters. I always enjoy Emily Harvale’s light, easy flowing, and engaging tales peppered with amusing humor, colorful descriptions, vile villains, and oddly appealing yet uniquely peculiar characters.

I am loving this new series especially how it is intertwined with the Merrimont Bay series! Do you know what would make this perfect Emily? If they all took a road trip to Little Pondale... just saying I think Mia and Neva would be fast friends. But I digress... anyone who has followed my reviews for any amount of time knows I am a huge fan of Emily Harvale. She writes the perfect cozy romances with enchanting characters, lovely settings, and engaging storylines. The blurb of this book states that it can be read as a standalone, but I think it will be better enjoyed if you have read the first book and you’re going to want to anyways after you’ve read this. This book focuses on Winter House and its secrets. Neva and Rafe seem to be in a good place, but Olivia is none too pleased about it. We have a few new characters in this story: Hazel who is Olivia‘s nurse, Amelia who is working for Rafe, and Jo Who is Neva’s BFF. All three of these ladies seem to have caught the eye of Adam, even though Olivia is pushing Amelia toward Rafe. I have to say Olivia is a great character that you just love to hate. Just loved revisiting Winter House and all these amazing characters. I think part of the magic of Emily‘s writing is how she creates these relatable, lovable, down to earth characters that really draw you into their lives. The perfect blend of romance, Drama, Mystery, small town, and charm. Cannot wait for the next book in this delightful series. I really cannot encourage you strongly enough to pick up any of Miss Harvale’ss books and enjoy the entertaining lovely little escape. Seriously each of her stories is its own little gem!

*** Big thank you to the author for my gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own. ***

5☆ Simply A Joy to Read! A Must Read Series!

It was an absolute joy to be back in Wyntersleap and it's only the second instalment in and I am already hooked!

Although this can be read as a standalone I highly recommend that you read the first book just because all of Emily's books are amazing and I wouldn't want you to miss out!
Also there is a fair amount of characters to get to grips with if you haven't yet read the first book, but don't let it put you off as you will grow to love each one!
Oh and if you so happen to of read her Merriment Bay series then you will be overjoyed to know there is crossovers 🙊

Once again Emily has written another Gem of a book that is captivating, has plenty of romance, drama, secrets, moving on, new ventures and family dynamics, what's not to love!
The Characters are superbly written and already they feel like I know them so well, I can't wait for the next instalment for a catch up!
Emily is one of my favourite Authors, she always writes with such warmth and passion its hard not to fall in love with her characters and Wyntersleap.
Bring on the next instalment I can't wait!!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I loved my first introduction to Wynter House so was eager to be back again. It didn’t disappoint.

This standalone story, focuses on Wynter House itself as well as it’s occupants. Adam and Rafe maybe brothers but are quite different in personalities. I loved both of them though. Maybe Adam that little bit more. It’s hard not to fall for his good looks and charms.

Olivia is probably the only character I didn’t warm to but then I don’t think you are supposed to. She is a proper battle axe who looks down on everyone as well as expecting everyone to do as she says. Adam and Rafe definitely have more patience than I would ever have when it comes to her.

The book is filled with family and romance. The romance relationships at all different stages which was fun to see. Who doesn’t love to see a romance in it’s early stages especially. Seeing it blossom. It certainly gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

New Beginnings at Wynter House is another engaging read from the author that I found impossible to put down. I couldn’t think of a better way to pass time than to lose myself into one of this authors books. I know I am always guaranteed a wonderful reading experience that leaves me feeling uplifted and happy.

My thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

A cute story which continued from book 1. Since I had not read that, I was in a big conundrum about who was who and how they connected with each other. It took me 2 attempts to get into this book. Please read book 1 to understand the characters better.

This series dealt with grandmother Olivia and grandsons Rafe and Adam. Rafe was in love with Neva in spite of the snobbish Grandma's objections. Her best friend Jo visited her. A nurse Hazel was employed to look after Olivia. A publicist Amelia was employed for Rafe's business, but who wanted to hook her claws into Rafe. Adam had all these ladies to flirt with. This was their continued story.

My fifth book by author Emily Harvale, this was a fast read where I got to know what happened further with the characters and their lives. Love was in the air along with flirting. It was nice to see characters falling in love at first sight, then at second and third.

I liked Olivia the best. She stayed true to her nature and was clear in her dealings. I never had a problem understanding her viewpoints. I also liked that she didn't deal with many of the characters.

The story did have a reveal of a secret and it was nice to read how the brothers found a way out. Overall, it was a book in continuity and a sweet, fast read.

KU book. I liked the cover and the blurb stated that it can be read as a standalone so I thought I'd give it a try.

Oh dear.

Chapter 1 starts with a phone conversation between two women - Jo and Neva. And the conversation goes on for the WHOLE of the chapter!!! I have NO idea who these women are, what they 'sound' like or how old they are, even where they are, and the conversation is packed full of information about multiple random characters ( I think I counted 20 altogether). I was totally lost after the first few pages.

A standalone? Sorry. It simply didn't work. There was no narrative to ease me gently into the story and the two women were formless, flat characters who could have been any age. I'm pretty good at 'catching up' on characters and events in earlier (unread) books in a series, but this was WAY beyond me.

Not rating.

New Beginnings at Wynter House picks up where Christmas at Wynter House left off. The village residents, plus Neva and her family are still staying at the big house due to the floods but the water is receding and things are moving along at a steady pace with everyone getting ready to return to their daily lives.

It’s all change for Neva and her parents as they pack up ready for their move to Merriment Bay. Neva is about to get her salon up and running and wondering what her best friend Jo will be doing…giving her relationship another shot or moving to Merriment Bay and joining Neva at the salon.

A family secret is revealed when Adam and Rafe confront Olivia about someone they saw. Both feel guilty when coincidentaly, Olivia is taken ill after a lighthearted warning and transported to hospital. Most of the guests at Wynter House heave a secret sigh of relief that Olivia will be absent for a few days. With her haughty attitude and overbearing nature she doesn’t endear herself to anyone, much less Hazel, the nurse sent home with her.

There’s lots of drama going on, especially with the odious Amelia who has arrived to help Rafe build his business venture, and that’s not the only thing she’s working on. So much so that Neva is quite worried that she might prove to be a threat.

Adam’s days of flirting with every eligible female may just be coming to an end, much to his and everyone else’s surprise.

Another lovely read by Emily Harvale incorporating likeable characters, serious issues, romance, friendships and family dynamics.

I need more, I am so hooked on both the Wyntersleap and Merriment Bay series and how they interlock that the wait for the next book will be unbearable.

But alas I clearly have to wait, I must say this story was a delight to read. It took perhaps a chapter to remember the characters from the first book and from there on I was lost to the real world.

There is so much drama that had me on the edge of the seat. And the gorgeous Adam Wynter may just be ready to change his serial flirty ways. There are some new characters introduced and I really took to Hazel, an incredibly talented nurse that can see through Adam's possible pick up lines!

Neva and Rafe seem perfect together and I loved getting to know them more as well as seeing how the plans for the distillery are progressing.

Sasha's rather ghoulish nature made me laugh again and some of what she repeats is hilarious.

Emily Harvale is a marvel, who just writes such wonderful stories, that draw me in and wont let go until I run out of pages.

Another fabulous book from an author I adore. I just can't wait for more.

Thank you to Emily Harvale for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I have been a fan of Emily’s work for a little while now. I have read some, but not all, of her books. I love the way in which she combines romance with fun. I read the synopsis for ‘New Beginnings At Wynter House’ and I knew that this book was going to be the distraction I so desperately needed. I couldn’t wait to start reading and so without further ado I grabbed a cup of tea, grabbed my Kindle and settled down to read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘New Beginnings At Wynter House’ but more about that in a bit.
I was under this book’s spell from the moment I picked the book up until the moment I closed the back cover after having finished reading the book. I loved every single minute of the story. To say that reading ‘New Beginnings At Wynter House’ was addictive seems like a huge understatement. I found it extremely difficult to put this book to one side for any length of time. The book wasn’t exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. I couldn’t bear to miss a single second of the story and the adorable characters contained within. I wanted to slow down how quickly I read this book but because I was enjoying the author’s writing style, the characters and the storylines so much I just couldn’t stop myself finishing the book far quicker than I had either wanted or expected. That said, the story left me with a smile on my face.
‘New Beginnings At Wynter House’ is well written but then I find that to be true of all of Emily’s books. She has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. She has an informal way of describing the story and reading the text made me feel as though Emily was chatting to me as a friend. I know that might sound daft to some but I can’t really explain it any other way. I really got to know the characters through Emily’s writing and by the end of the story they felt as though they were friends of mine. Emily writes so realistically and uses such vivid descriptions that I even felt as though I was part of the story myself.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘New Beginnings At Wynter House’ and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Emily’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

It’s a not-so-secret secret that if it wasn’t for a mother and two cats that I’d be booking my one-way ticket to Merriment Bay. But, alas, it’s not to be... *sighs*

Whaaa? The fact it’s a fictional place is just semantics. I am Amias Wells’ No. 1 stalker, I mean, fan *snorts*.

I jumped at the chance to read a story set in Wynter House which is just a hop, skip and a jump from my cherished Merriment Bay. (Interconnected characters for the win! *mini fist pump*) Although, can someone please tell me how I missed the first in the series? *scratches head*

And... and, it was a Christmas-themed story no less *wails*. In case you haven’t guessed, I am not okay with this!

Anyhoo, I jumped straight in to Book 2 to read all about the Wynters and Neva Grey where 2020 heralds new beginnings for many!

Now I have to admit to being a tad lost at the start while I wrangled all the characters in my head. FYI – the notes section in your phone is very handy for just this event, lol. But once I did, I was flying!

I love the escapism with Emily’s stories. You can just get lost in them as you become entangled in the characters’ lives and loves, and all the ups and downs. Invested? You could say that.

I thought I was going to burst something in Chapter Thirteen with the introduction of a certain character. It may, or may not have, gone something like this...

Hackles engaged!

Me: Some characters are like the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard, aren’t they?

Also me: Hold my coat! Someone needs to teach that bleep-da-bleep a lesson...

(Again) also me: Steady there, Tyson. Neva’s got this!

I can hear you btw, I know I have issues *snorts*.

I’m at a loss to pick my favourite character – there are too many to love. Neva who wears her heart on her sleeve. Rafe whose stoic reserve has melted with his love for Neva. Adam aka ‘The Player’ who can’t understand all this love stuff. See? I could go on and on and on...

So, I wonder what will happen next in the series? Jo and Gavin, per chance?

Hello? Anyone?

How lovely to be back at Wynter House – just after Christmas, with the flood waters still receding and Neva’s family getting ready to return home to their everyday lives. Her parents need to get ready for their move to that lovely house in Merriment Bay, after all – and Neva herself needs to think about her own fresh start, to find out if best friend Jo will be joining her, and to work out whether to move into the flat above the salon or to travel daily from Wynter House and Rafe. (You can tell I’m really into this series, can’t you – these people are totally real to me!)

The key characters from the first book are all here – Carruthers and his eyebrows, snooty Olivia none too pleased about Rafe’s relationship with a common hairdresser, Adam sowing his wild oats – but there are some excellent new ones too. When the family make a rather surprising discovery, a bit of drama ensues for Olivia, and a nurse is brought in to manage things – Hazel does rather have her work cut out with her difficult patient, but then finds she needs to be fending off an overenthusiastic Adam too.

And then there’s Amelia – a PR whizz who can make a real difference to the launch of Rafe’s new enterprise, but might she have designs on him too? She’s a great character, thoroughly obnoxious behind her smile – and a particular threat to the new relationship when it becomes clear that Olivia would far prefer her to be the object of Rafe’s affections. And yes, we finally get to meet Jo, rather than having her on the other end of the telephone line. At first, I’ll admit I found her a bit difficult to take to – a bit too fun-loving for my liking – but her supportive friendship with a rather vulnerable Neve soon won me over.

The author creates such great characters – and her writing has such warmth, ease and gentleness that it’s a real pleasure to read. This is a cracking story too – that discovery I mentioned works its way through nicely, there are a few more dramatic touches along the way and some perfect touches of humour, the different characters take their turns to step into the forefront, and the continuing development of the relationship between Neva and Rafe underpins everything so very well.

When I read the first in the series, I mentioned escaping into the book for an afternoon and allowing the world to disappear – that happened with this one too, and I enjoyed the experience every bit as much. Oh, and lest you might worry about jumping into the second in a series, I don’t think it’d really matter – but as both books are just a tad shorter than many (something I’m growing to rather like) why not try both, and double the pleasure? I’m so delighted to have discovered the author’s books, and her excellent story-telling – this was another winner for me!

This is book #2 in the Wyntersleap series. It can be read as a standalone book, although I would obviously recommend to read the series in order to follow the previous storylines. At a relatively short 160 pages, this is perfect for reading in an afternoon – or a couple of days if you are a slower reader!! I have read many books by this author and have found them to be delightful, fun and charming to read. This series intertwines with the previous Merriment Bay series, so it was nice to see some places and characters that I already knew!

The story does include a lot of characters, and I have to admit I struggled initially to work out who was who (I’d missed the first book in the series – don’t ask me how!!). However, as the story moved on, I got to grips with them all and really settled down into the book. The pace moved well and the story was filled with New Year cheer, resolutions and new beginnings (hence the title!!). There was lots of love interests, devilishly handsome men, plenty of humorous moments and to round it all off some tender heart-warming plots.

Wynter House certainly lives up to its name with the snowy scene on the cover! The location sounds lovely, and whilst I’ve come to know Merriment Bay from previous books, it was fun to view it through cold wintery eyes! There are plenty of characters to love (or grow to love!) and there are a few that you just know you’re not meant to like! The story had me hooked from the first few chapters, and I found it very difficult to put it down until I’d finished it! With lots of romance and family dramas, this is perfect for reading under a blanket, with a very large G&T on a winter’s afternoon!

“The New Year brings unexpected revelations at Wynter House”
Everyone is still gathered at Wynter house as it is Boxing day.The houses in the village were flooded and many have moved into the big house until the water recedes. Neve has been invited by the love of her life Rafe who now owns the house. His grandmother Olivia doesn’t believe that Rafe seeing a hairdresser is good for their reputation which has suffered one way and another in latter years. Rafe and his brother Adam challenge Olivia about someone they saw in town. Trying to get the truth out of her is rather like pulling teeth! Rafe wants to get his new Gin distillery off the ground and has invited Amelia to do the marketing however it appears that Amelia has her eye on more than just the gin. She would however stack up in Olivia’s eyes. This is a wonderful easy read with a smile. I like Neve and her determination. Her feet are firmly planted on the ground and little phases her. An uplifting read to enjoy over a coffee or two.

I haven’t read Book 1 in the Wyntersleap series so it was my first introduction to the characters.

The blurb tells you everything you need to know, so I’m not going to go over it! What I will say is that we meet a host of interesting and funny characters which, if you haven’t read book 1, you will adore (or detest!) by the end of this book!

I did find it slightly confusing at the beginning as the book begins as if you already know the characters (assuming you have read book 1) but after a while it all became clear and certainly didn’t put me off.

Neva and Rafe are adorable in their new found ‘in love’ status! Sasha is a hilarious kid who literally says what she thinks – and I adored her! Adam is a typical non-committing male – just wanted to flirt with any pretty woman that moves – although we do see a different side to him in this. Olivia is something else – definitely a woman I would NOT get on with!! And the rest of the characters are either amazing or despicable!!

By the end of the book I really felt like I knew the characters and was there with them – I most definitely wanted to be at Wynter House (although perhaps not when Olivia was home!).

This is definitely the sort of book you want to curl up with when you want a cosy, enjoyable and light hearted read that will uplift you, make you happy and put a smile on your face. There are moment that will make you chuckle, moments that will make your roll your eyes and moments where you will genuinely be concerned for the characters. This is a brilliant and enjoyable read….and will most certainly make you want to read the others in the series! Definitely recommended by me.

New beginnings at Wynter House is the second installment of this series.  It does read as a stand-alone but if you really want to get to know the characters of Wyntersleap a bit more intimately I would recommend that you begin with book one - Christmas at Wynter House.  Check out my review here!

This book pretty much picks up where the first installment left off.  Rafe and Neva are newly loved up and residing in Wynter House (along with the rest of Neva's family) while their homes are being repaired and restored after the storms.  Unfortunately for Neva she isn't Olivia Wynter's ideal candidate for her grandson's love interest. As well as Neva and Rafe, we meet a few new characters and poor Adam seems to have his hands full with an abundance of admirers but will his choice match that of Olivia's? Add in a bit of family drama and there's a whole lot going on in Wyntersleap.

Although there were quite a few characters to get reacquainted with or to be introduced to, it didn't take long before Wynter's House felt like home again.  The characters are mostly endearing and become more like friends as you read through the book.  My favourite is Sasha (Neva's niece).  She says it as it is and has the most comical moments/reactions to things.

The setting of Wyntersleap and Wynter House is just stunning and cosy and I'd love to be part of this village.  I think they should make one as a tourist attractions - a bit like when people visit the set of TV programmes.  You could stay there and experience the full thing.

I am enjoying this series so much and I am looking forward to catching up with Merriment Bay, the interlinking series that many reviewers have been raving over.

New Beginnings at Wynter House is the second book in the Wyntersleap series, and the title couldn’t be more perfect. There are new beginnings and changes coming to Wynter House and to Adam and Rafe.

Neva has had a whirlwind of a holiday season, and it doesn’t look like things are going to get easier. A huge secret that will affect all of them is revealed, and Olivia, Adam and Rafe’s grandmother has had a mild heart attack which brings nurse Hazel onto the scene. Other guests have arrived too, Neva’s friend, Jo, and Amelia, who is in charge of Rafe’s new business as a marketing consultant. Don’t forget...Neva’s precocious niece, Sasha, is on hand. She always makes things more interesting and brings plenty of laughs. Laughter is needed at this time!

Even though the book is narrated by several voices, this is really Adam’s journey to romance. For those of us who know Adam, he doesn’t have a clue what a relationship is, but he is definitely enjoying the company of Jo, Hazel, and Amelia. I won’t be revealing the lucky lady who captures his heart. I can’t reveal that surprise. Just know that this is a charming, enjoyable read. Readers will also see some resolution to the secrets that were revealed earlier in both series.

I love how the author intertwined the Wyntersleap series and Merriment Bay series. She had begun to do this earlier in the series, but she brought it full circle in this one. I thought it was a stroke of genius on her part. As always, I can’t wait to read more in each of the series!!!

New Beginnings at Wynter House: Wyntersleap Series Book 2 is written by Emilie Harvale. This series is a cute series but one with loads of action to keep you reading. It deals with Adam and Rafe Wynter and their shared home Wynter House. They rent cottages near the main house as well as some of the rooms at the main house. This Christmas, they had rented to the Grey family and others and all of the inhabitants had been caught in a flood and had to take shelter in the main house. During the Christmas season and the confusion of the housing of everyone, Neva Grey and Rafe Wynter fell in love. Everyone except Rafe’s aunt Olivia was happy for them.
While Rafe and Neva work on keeping time for just them, it seems that everything that can possibly happen happens. Aunt Olivia ends up in the hospital with a heart attack, Adam and Rafe learn they have a sister and niece nearby, Jo (Neva’s best friend) breaks up with her fiancé and ends up at Wynter House, and Neva’s incorrigible niece Sasha takes advantage of everyone’s bout with the flu and having her Mother’s social media password, to take picture of the ill and post them on social media. That is just the beginning of trouble at Wynter House.
The book is fun to read and makes the reader laugh at the problems that show up and when they show up. It is difficult to stay sad while reading this book.

The second in the series does not disappoint and seems to carry on seamlessly from Christmas at Wynter House. You are reacquainted with the central characters pretty quickly and the newcomers are swiftly introduced. I did miss Olivia who does not directly appear very much, although her presence is always felt but I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will feature more in the next instalment.

You also get to meet characters from the Merriment Bay series as the two series are interlinked but it never feels forced, rather the storylines in both are moved on. There is such a lot of potential for many more books. There are some interesting character developments, particularly with Adam and you learn more about him. What he shows to the outside world is not necessarily the whole story as far as he is concerned. Similarly, with Rafe, first impressions can be misleading.

With humorous touches and some vividly drawn characters, this is a series to enjoy.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book

Another fabulous read from Emily Harvale ... such a treat!

Picking up where book one left off, we're back in Wynter House during the festive season whilst the Wynters continue playing host to all the residents of their flooded cottages. As time moves on to a fresh year, the visitors move out - back to their former lives for some but new pastures for others.

With a wide array of characters, this is a very appealing tale and I love that this series is entwined with another of the author's. It didn't take long for me to recall what happened first time round and things move on quite quickly, advancing the story; finishing off some threads and introducing new ones which kept me glued to the pages. Emily has the knack of writing a series of books which entertain thoroughly without ever confusing the reader. I think she has surpassed herself with the amalgamation of Wyntersleap and Merriment Bay and I'm so looking forward to the next book! There is no doubt in my mind that this is a solid 5* read.

Here’s another warm, enticing quick read from this prolific and talented author.
If you’ve been following the Wynter House series you’ll soon recognise the characters and get back into the swing of things. If not, it may take you a little longer to piece the parts together but that won’t stop you still enjoying the story.
There’s love, humour, tension, drama, secretiveness, discovery and resolutions, everything you want and everything you need to keep you thoroughly entertained in a novel. We see quite the cross section of human nature amidst the cast of characters, from the genuine to the ulteriorly-motivated. We get a good glimpse of them all as the action unrolls.
Engrossing and enjoyable.

I can't believe I finished this book in 4.5 hours! It's a continuation of the previous book in this series, so set around the New Year. I liked this one less than the previous book. The story is not that interesting, and the ending was a little anti-climactic. I should also blame the description of the book on Goodreads because, as was the case for the previous book, the description seems to give an impression that certain plot lines would be emphasised more than they actually are in the book. I also don't believe in love-at-first-sight crap, so I found it cringy whenever the characters who haven't known each other for more than a week or so "fell in love", but hey, that's just me. Overall, it was still enjoyable because, ESCAPISM.

Lovely to see the characters develop in this second book. I particularly like Sasha because as a child she can get away with saying things that adults are thinking but can't say. Olivia too comes into her own in this book. Good to see Jo leave her demanding boyfriend but I was hoping all the way through that she wouldn't get hurt. Amelia presents a threat to Neve's happiness if Olivia has anything to do with it - will love prevail? You'll have to read it and find out. With an easy to read style that is as comforting as lashings of tomato soup on a cold day - this book will warm your heart.

Once you start reading anything by Emily Harvale you can’t stop and this definitely happened with this book.

This was book 2 in the Wyntersleap series and it was a continuation from the first book. Neva is getting excited to open her own hair salon and also move into her new flat. Rafe and her are still together and he doesn’t want her to leave but she decides that she should so she can set everything up. Of course the book has drama with Rafes grandmother who doesn’t approve of Neva, his brother falling ill and Amelia trying to work her way into his life. Lovely story, that I am always sad when they end.

This is book two of a three book series and what a joy and entertaining story it has been. I’m absolutely loving this series, full on entertainment and drama.

Very well written, the setting sounds truly beautiful, so much so that I wish it were real so as I could visit. Author Emily does bring Wynter House and it’s village truly alive though, with the way she details and describes it, as she does with the town of Merriment, which also sounds truly beautiful and a great place to live/visit.

Anyway, it was great to be reacquainted with all of the characters, as really feel like I know them. Can’t wait to join them all in book three.

I am loving reading both the Wyntersleap & Merriment Bay series and how they are starting to cross over into eachother with characters appearing in both series. This is the second book in the Wyntersleap series and was very eagerly awaited by me as I loved the first one.

It was lovely getting to visit Rafe & Neva again as they get to know eachother and we start to learn more about their characters. Neve is now all set to move and Rafe is busy with trying to get his Gin business off the ground. Whilst there are other dramas going on around them that keep drawing Rafe's attention to them.

The characters in this series are lovely, we have now got to know them and are getting to know their character traits. This book picked up where the first left off which was great, as you could literally read them back to back and they would feel like one book.

In the first book we had a tour of the grounds of Wynter House but in this book we get to explore more, with vivid descriptions both inside and outside the house which I loved as it helped me visualise what was happening and kept drawing me to pick the book back up every time I put it down.

I was disappointed to reach the end as I was so absorbed in the book, I didn't realise how far through it I was and I can't wait for the next visit to either Wynter House or Merriment Bay!

As always Emily has included so much detail of everything from surroundings to feelings to the characters emotions, this story explores so many emotions and had me crying in parts, it’s a fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next instalment.... highly recommended!!!!
