Overall this was cute and sweet. Lots of misunderstandings due to lack of communication but in the end we get a wonderful romance with bumps along the way.
The parents in this are horrendous. Will’s take the cake. I mean they can’t even come home at the holidays. He seems to be left alone and being raised by Sharon who works for his parents. Emma’s dad was not that great either. he did try to change at the end but still the way he was with her at the beginning wow. just wow.
Will and Colin you instalove. Colin is so precocious. Will is the perfect sweet adorable and understanding guy. I love how he brings New York alive for colin and Emma. He does it not because he wants to impress but because he wants to help Emma get to know her soon to be brother. He wants them to have a wonderful Christmas. Something he isn’t going to get because his family has pretty much forgotten him. Will is so sweet, kind, generous, forgiving and his idea at what is the perfect gift is wonderful. To him a tradition is better than any gift money can buy. The christmas tree and staring up in it is examples of this.
Emma takes time to get used to. She is stubborn and doesn’t give people a chance to explain things. She goes by what she sees on social media when it came to Will and not what she knew of him. She broke his heart because of social media and when she saw him again treated him really badly at first. She ran hot and cold with him and truly confused Will.Poor guy but he knew what he wanted and always has so he was patient and hoped that Emma would see him for who he is and let him in again. Emma learns that you can’t always believe what is on social media and that talking to someone and asking the person is the only way to go because it helps avoid misunderstandings and possible heartache.
The story is sweet and precious when it comes to Will and his views on family and love. He is so kind and loyal. at the end I loved how he stood up to those causing toxicity in his life and harming his chance to have love and a future with Emma. The story intoxicates you into the warm fuzzies with the chance to see two best friends finally admit their feelings, let go of the past pain and take a chance at love and brings Xmas in NY alive for you. So glad Will and Emma got another chance and you hope that their future is filled with love and happiness with each other.
A wonderful sweet holiday story that is clean and precious but also just warms the heart. A curl up in front of the fire with cocoa and just enjoy read.
Hi, it’s me, the girl who loves YA Christmas books even though there are a shortage of them. I found another one!
I’m giving this 3 stars just because of how drama filled it was. The FMC had drama with everyone she came into contact with, from her dad to the MMC, to the girls at her school. It was a bit much, especially the girl on girl hate.
However, I loved how festive the story was! They did all kinds of fun stuff and really experienced Christmas in NYC. (The author used a lot of real places and includes directions to some of them at the end of the book which was a really nice touch.)
While not my very favorite YA Christmas story, this one was still cute and fun and a quick read as well.
Before I can start this review I must state how much I love Christina Benjamin's Boyfriend Series! I hope that she writes at least a dozen. Seriously, they make me happy. With each one I laugh, I cry, I fume, I relate, I relive. Each one fills my heart. The Holiday Boyfriend is no exception.
Emma Rhodes was once the reigning Teen Queen of her Private Academy; Manhatten was her playground. However, she's not been back to Manhatten since her parent's divorce. She fled the city with a broken family and a broken heart. Now she's returning for the Christmas Holiday with great apprehension and high hopes. She's missed the city, her dad, and her one-time best friend/secret crush Will Taylor. However, her return isn't what she expected. Her father has a new life, a new family, her best friend isn't available, and Will seems to have moved on to her biggest rival Liz. But are things really what they seem? Can Emma put aside the hurt, possibly forgive in order to get what she wants?
Emma and Will are fantastic characters. Childhood friends who could be so much more. There's something so sweet about someone knowing you so well that not only do they know your favorite chocolate, but they also know your secret gestures and they find them adorable. Someone you can be totally comfortable with and who makes you tingle is someone to hold onto. Someone who knows what you need better than you do, someone whose first and last thought is you is irreplaceable. These two are adorable. As is Colin. This little bundle of energy is delightful. I was not a fan of the parents. Will's parents don't deserve the title (although Sharon was wonderful) and I couldn't get over the first impression of Emma's parents. So no. The classmates embody the worst of spoiled, entitled rich kids, again, not a fan. The final character is the city. It's the most vibrant city in the world, but around Christmas, it moves to another level. Each New York City detail in this story showed its allure. The city provided a captivating backdrop for Emma and Will.
This is a story about second chances. It's a story of Christmas, history, and hope. It's also a coming of age story in the best sense set during the most magical season of the year. Growing up is painful. Noone can escape it. Misunderstandings and betrayals occur, feelings are hurt, relationships fall apart, hearts are broken. We all get bruised. Those we open our hearts to, those we let closest to us, those we love the most are often the ones to cause us the most pain. They are also the ones to bring us the greatest happiness. Love is the one thing always worth taking a chance for. Emma knows she can't have her life back, but she knows what she wants. Will's future is clear to him. Can they be brave enough to go after happiness? Do you believe in mistletoe and miracles?
Emma Rhodes isn't ready to return to Manhattan after the ugly divorce her parents went through and the heartbreak she dealt with because of Will Taylor. But the city is calling and Emma needs a break from Boston. She's also debating whether she wants to come back to NYC for college or continue to stay away in Boston. Will Taylor is excited for the holiday season, especially when he finds out Emma is coming back. She's the girl who got away and maybe this time Will can convince her to stay.
This was a really adorable romance set during Christmas time! I loved both the characters even if they were annoyingly obtuse at moment. There were so many conversations they had where I wanted to strangle them because they never properly finished it!! But the drama was kind of fun too lol.
I loved seeing Emma get to know her new step brother, Collin! He was quite crazy for a nine year old, every time they were together they made me laugh. I'm glad Will encouraged Emma to get to know him. Then there was Emma's real discussion with her dad. Agh it gave me so many emotions and I'm still drowning in them from it.
Will did so many amazing things for Emma and I absolutely loved it. I only wish Emma had gotten to do a couple more things for him. Overall, super adorable but I still wanted more from it.
For the first chunk of this book I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to make it to the end. Way too much pettiness and the parents sucked. I was thankful that her dad wasn't bad and that it was all a big misunderstanding. It really helped me to like this in the end.
Wow, I didn’t know that this book was going to end like that. Wow! I was confused!
But I can say this; this book wasn’t a disappointment. It was a good read. I liked the story!
I thought it was cute, but also believed that Emma was kind of mean towards Will didn’t give him enough credit, when it came to his feelings and when it came to Liz. She was always quick to assume things instead of thinking things through and asking questions.
I was glad she realizes her feelings for Will instead of running away from him always. She knows that he didn’t fool around or lost his V-Card to Liz when she heard Will blast, Liz, out at the rooftop Christmas party. I was glad she heard it because it shows her who Will truly was and that he didn’t change.
Also, she knew she was wrong to run away from issues, especially when it came to her father and standing Will up at the dance.
I was also glad she had a talk with her father and realize he actually still loved her and wanted her around. Even her mother knew everything, and Emma assumes her mother was still hurting. But the talk with her father made her understand a lot of things and even got her to like Tara, which turn out to be good. She got a brother out of the deal, which she learned to love and become close too not only that she had another brother on the way.
A lot of things she had to thank Will for because he helped her through a lot when it came to her family and even Will. & she also helps Will have a good family Christmas and even Colin; her step-brother ended up with the best Christmas ever.

This book was good and the perfect book to get me in the holiday spirit. Hannah returns to New York after her mom and dad have split up and she went with her mom to Boston. When she left she was doing it for her own reasons and not the ones everyone thought, which was that she had chosen her mom over her dad. Hannah returns to New York to spend the holiday with her dad only to find out things are not going to be even close to what she wanted them to be. She finds that not only is her dad's place lacking color, but he's also living with someone and her child. Not that that isn't enough she also returns to find Will, once bestfriend and maybe more, living right next door.
This was a great story that shows that things are not always what they appear to be, and if you want to know what is going on you have to ask. This story is also great because it shows how much the youth rely on social media and it goes to prove that you can't always believe what is on there, social media can be slanted to show what the poster wants you to believe.
This is a must read for all young girls even when it's not the holidays. The characters in this book are well developed and you fall in love with Will and Collin (new little brother Hannah wasn't ready for or wanted)

First, I love this author. I have met her before and have several of her books so when I got the offer to read this book for a free review, I could not pass it up.
I loved this story. I love seeing the story of Emma and Will unfold. Seniors and former best friends. Granted they had some rough patches and adding a jealous girl in the book makes this book worth reading. It was a very cute YA novel that dove into many issues. It dealt with broken hearts, family and friends. You watch also as the author puts it all back together or did she??
With out giving any spoilers, will Emma and Will work things out and find their way back to each other? This story was such a cozy read with a great throw and coffee.
I am so ready for Christmas now! All I want to do is snuggle up, drink hot chocolate, and look at Christmas decor.
This novel was quick, fun, and super sweet. I'm a believer in childhood friend to romance stories because they make me so happy! I adored reading about Emma and Will's story. It gave me serious Gossip Girl vibes 😂
If you are looking for a cute Christmas-y read be sure to check this YA novel.
can be read as a stand-alone.

This was a very sweet romance for me. It is about love, hope, second chances, and Christmas feels. These two are best friends and they have had a rocky past. But together they allow themselves the chance to love again and gain something awesome for the future. I was amazed by Benjamin's storytelling and loved every last word on these pages! The characters are really showcased in depth and I honestly could read this again right now. I await more books from her!

This book is a very sweet, ya romance novel. It's not just about romance, though. It tackles many other themes: family, friendships, broken hearts and how we mend them, and it's set in a Christmas background in N.Y. The characters are well-developed, not perfect, and the pace is nice. I fell in love with this book quickly and invested as well. I was rooting for t's happy ending for everyone almost right away. I received a free digital copy of this book, and I've voluntarily reviewed. Opinions expressed here are my own, honest, and not influenced by any outside measures
Super awesome book. A year ago Emma Rhodes left best friend and almost boyfriend, Will Taylor, but he had no clue why. She comes to visit her dad and after having some bombshells dropped on her Will finds his in back to her. With the magic of Manhattan and mistletoe, can he give her the ultimate Christmas to show her the spark between them still exists and that he is not giving up on them. Adored reading this! Such a sweet read with heart warming romance. It even had me shouting at the characters in frustration at times hahaha! A great little book to snuggle up under a blanket and read on cold winter nights. It makes me want to go to NYC even more now and visit all the places Emma and Will had been. At the back of the back is a list of places that you can actually visit which I thought was a lovely little touch.
A young adult romance about adjusting to the things happening in life, I enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book by this Author I have read, but I will be looking for more by her.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fast, warm, satisfying. These three words sum up the story very nicely. I read it in an evening and really liked how Will and Emma's chemistry mixed, even when things looked like fate was intent upon getting in the way of them becoming a couple.
Situations tear people apart. It pays to talk about what has happened. Never think you know everything that is happening. People think they know what is going ng on. If you allow love to enter the situation, good things happen. Lies are put to rest.
This book reminded me of the tv show Gossip Girl. It may have not had the same characters but it kept me wanting to read more. I was always hoping that Will and Emma would get together from the beginning. I would recommend reading this book to everyone.
I enjoyed this cute holiday romance. At first I thought Emma would annoy me but she turned out to be great. I loved will but was a bit annoyed ne didn't notice now much Liz annoyed Emma. I also loved Colin. All in all a cute a holiday romance.
I don't read much YA anymore but the boyfriend series is one I can still read and enjoy.
I did enjoy this book, not as much as the previous books but I did still enjoy it. I will say I liked the second half of the book more than the first, the first half seemed like a lot of whining from both of the characters and back and forth "I'm mad at him but won't tell him why".
When the Christmas fun started it was just brilliant, I loved the time they spent together, especially the times with Colin too. I found myself smiling along with them often.
The story itself is very juvenile but that's to be expected with a YA book, all their problems would have been solved if she'd just told him why she was mad instead of telling him she was mad and then not saying why or telling him to ask other people why she is as if they'd actually tell him. Also at one point she says she hates spoiled children... Whilst complaining multiple times throughout the book that she misses her store accounts and personal driver (do I smell a hypocrite?)
