Mankind is fighting back. The demons have become less aggressive and confused, but that doesn't mean the war is anywhere close to over. New threats are arriving, and old foes are rallying. Soon, the final battle for mankind's survival will begin.

One of Horror's most respected authors, Iain Rob Wright is the writer of more than forty books, many of them bestsellers. A previous Kindle All-Star and a mainstay in the horror charts, he is a prolific producer of unique and original stories. From his apocalyptic saga The Gates to his claustrophobic revenge thriller ASBO, Iain writes across a broad spectrum of sub genres, creating both beloved series and standalone titles.
With work available in several languages and in audio, Iain Rob Wright is one of the fastest rising stars in horror, but when not writing he is a dedicated family man. Father to Jack and Molly, and husband to Sally, he is often seen sharing his family memories with his fans on Facebook.
Another great addition to the series. Gotta love the twists and turns this series delivers along with a fast paced, action packed and genuinely touching story. I. R. W. seams to always deliver rich and colourful characters who manage to work their way into my heart making their plight all the more intensified. I genuine care what happens to these people and that makes what Iain writes so damn special. Gotta go as the last book in the series needs reading...... I just have to see how this concludes........
What can I say… a masterpiece of horror and apocalyptic themes. Each word, sentence, paragraph, and page was an indescribable epic journey full of emotions—sometimes uplifting and sometimes sad, just like life. I can’t believe the journey is coming to an end… but as he said, "Let’s give them hell!" Jumping yo book number 6!!
Iain Rob Wright hooked me on this series from the first book, ‘The Gates’, and I just can’t get enough of it. It has everything, there’s horror, there’s apocalypse survival and there’s even a dose of humour mixed in at times. This particular book takes us back to some characters that we know from the earlier books that didn’t feature very much in the previous book. Things have gone well for our survivors and they’re taking the fight to the demons that are trying to eliminate the human race. Can it stay that good? Of course not, this is an Iain Rob Wright Hell On Earth series novel! I hate spoilers so I won’t say what exactly goes wrong but it’s great fun to read, full of excitement and humour too at times. I will go so far as to say we meet Smithy, early on so not really a spoiler, and he’s a character that I took to straight away. By the end of the story he goes through as much as the author can throw at him and I liked him even more. This book is a really strong addition to the series and sets up the next instalment really nicely. That leads me to mention that these books are very much part of a series and flow together so if you like the look of this one then read the previous ones too. Those are great too so why wouldn’t you? Highly recommended.
I enjoy this series, and book 5 is definitely a fun one. Why only three stars then? Well, it felt like he changed some people drastically and I wasn’t a fan of that. For example, we’ve been rooting for Aymun since book 1. He gets killed almost immediately in this book in a lackluster way. Then you have stoic awesome General Wickstaff and bad to the bone Maddie, out of the blue, go carpet hungry for each other. No lead up to that at all. Both even said I’m not lesbian....buuuuuut. It felt like Iain just got horny one night while writing and just decide to flip the script on us there. Especially since he was leading us to believe Maddy was crushing on Cross. Another thing is that this book falls in the Hell on Earth series, yet he brought in another character from his other sorta series Damienverse. Frankie (and kind of Davie) from his ASBO book. Though I think he might’ve done that already with some other characters from Final Winter, not a hundred percent positive.
I would suggest though if the author is going to do this, and you’re going to make a long series like this, please add like a who’s who at the front of the book. Kind of like how Stephen King did in just one book that was huge “Under the Dome”. It could help a lot of us readers out imo since the books are not focused on one central story, person, or place.

really a 4.5 why?. We are very close to the final battle. Deaths are piling up. Demons are aren't going away. Humans fighting back hard. The books ends with a perfect tease for the finale. Overall another very good book. At this point its preaching to the choir in how great these descriptions are. How great is it to read about humans never giving up against all odds. This book had many important deaths. i won't say which ones cuz it would be a huge spoiler. New characters and they were very good. There were moments of anger only cuz certain individuals doing dumb stuff. Other than that what a setup for the final book. Can't wait to read the finale.
The penultimate book in the Hell on Earth series is full on horror and struggle just like the previous instalments. The story has two main arcs, General Thomas arrives from the Middle East in Portsmouth and immediately tries to wrest command from General Wickstaff, but she isn't willing to concede quite so easily. The 2nd arc follows Mass on the 'Urban Vampires' out on patrol and their encounter with a firstly a group of psychotic humans and then rampaging demons led once again by the Red Lord. Whoever comes out on top, things are never going to be the same.
Another Iain Rob Wright cracker as Earth still looks like hell and we see the return of many known characters, well known if you have been reading the series like myself. The next, book six, will be the last apparently but who knows? I am fairly sure this started out as an intended trilogy.
Iain Rob Wright does it again. Amazing series about the war between humans and demons. Iain is so good at creating characters you can root for in a story that has you whipping through the pages. You never know what alliance will be made and what sort of treachery takes place. Can’t wait for the next chapter
Love this series I look forward to the next and final book. Lots of great charts and several stories to wrap up. Try this series and you will be hooked. Every Ian Rob Wright book I have read has been an amazing journey. Fun and scary with tons of great characters and plots.
I have read the previous four books and am now waiting for book six to come out. This series has been amazing, one of my favourite characters rom this book has been David. He was so good and tried so hard to please. I'm outraged about what's happened to General Wickstaff. I hope she is revenged in book six.
Editor. Needs glasses ? A lot of dropped words and words where they shouldn't be . Good story . writing needs a little work reading what you have written would cure a lot of the simple mistakes .take your time the world is old and getting older we can't stop it so mite as well go along and enjoy it . Things move slow 🐌
This books series has left me utterly speechless. I finished book five today and I think I started with book 1 on Saturday. I got so absorbed into the story that I really struggled to put the book down. Brilliant series of books with seriously highs and lows. I must admit I almost cried a few times whilst reading it but I also was gripped until the end. I honestly cannot wait for book 6.
Hell's gates are open and terror depends upon the entire world! Mankind is desperately trying to keep themselves alive! In Britain, those who seek an end of this conflict. They struggle to fight, while some of their own people are murdering innocents!! Definitely a book, that you won't want to put down until the very end!!
Great apocalyptic reading and after every book I can't wait to get to the next one . Numerous Exciting action scenes . Good mix of characters and Without giving away plots, I will just say theres plenty of scenes that leave you saddened, amused and hopeful that humanity could prevail .
I thought I knew where this 5th instalment of the book series was going. Crikey was I wrong. I wasn't expecting what happened at all, and I loved the way the story was unfolding. Lots of twists and turns, as well as the love and friendship that develops between the characters. I can't wait to start the 6th book. Great series!
I really loved this book in the series, I was so frustrated with how it ended! I thought I was going into another chapter and pow, done lol. I enjoyed this book so much and you will too!
Enjoyed the series so far, look forward to the next instalment, have re-read the whole lot in one go due to the lockdown. It has been great to read a series that takes you on a journey with a variety of characters throughout. Well written and paced.
Existential crisis. Heaven and he'll are not what we believed. Humanity is more than a web of isolated tribes. This series is truly a new look at how resilient and connected we all are.
I'm looking forward to reading Book 6. I have recommended the series to my book club members. I can only describe the series as awesome. It's so intense. When I wasn't reading, my mind was on what I've already read.
Soo much going on and characters oldand new appear never know how it's going to end sad about Ashied liked him and Vamps >started book 6 now still not knowing how things will pan out great thrilling ride throughout highly recommend first time of reading this author will try others by him
5 of 6 - ok but kinda felt like it was a stop gap to the final book bringing all the strands of the other books together for the ending. One of the characters suddenly turning gay just to seek vengeance after the death of their loved one was really random. A bit hit and miss.
These books are phenomenal. They are better than Steve King's Dark Tower series. I was completely wrapped up in each character and life and death situation. This author is great.
Another great book, can't wait for the finale. Bit gutted about one or two characters but hey it's only a book 🤣 all coming together for the final battle. I've became a fan.
