Old Man Logan has gotten back to his reality so that he can die and be buried with his family, as his deteriorating condition is terminal. His last hurrah involves cannibals, Weapon X, a Hulk and even a Norse God! Not the greatest read in the series, but a solid piece further expanding the mythology of the Old Man reality. 7 out of 12.

This was probably the best volume of Old/Dead Man Logan since the first story by Millar and McNiven (although it's still not a patch on it) but I can't say I'm sorry to see this character bow out. At least they gave him a good end.

This was a fitting tribute to OML and what an ending it was!

Logan travels back to wastelands and well attacked by cannibals and then meeting Dani and Bruce Jr and then has to fight Sabretooth and his clones and some drama with Forge and the last survivors which was an emotional one and the eventual rescue mission and the ultimate end and a fitting death.

This was okayish in the middle but by the end it got so good especially with the last fight with Sabretooth and Mr Sinister cameos up as well and such an awesome moment for Dani which makes the conclusion so good and I love the ending that Logan got and especially with his family and it is emotional for sure and ugh I love it. A fitting tribute and ending to the man named Logan and probably one of the best Wolverine runs I have ever read.

Dead Man Logan completes the Old Man Logan saga.

This volume and the last were the highlight of the entire series. This is Logan back in his own time period and trying to save little Hulk-Bruce. Yes the same one he rescued years ago from the crazy man-eating hulks. However, with Dani and Hulk not seeing Logan in over 7 years, a lot has changed. Who's after the Hulk now? Will Logan finally be able to get the send off he wants?

Overall, a great conclusion to a character I wasn't sold on to begin with. The desperation of a man who has very little left to protect people he loves is great. I also thought the gritty artwork and brutal fights worked in this series advantage at the end. The sendoff, which we all expected, is both bittersweet and heart warming. There was one issue, I believe 9 or 10, that slowed down the pace too much though and that's why can't give this a 5 out of 5. But a 4 out of 5 it has earned.

What a way to go out on top Brisson. This final volume had it all. Action packed, brutal fight scenes, great cameos, adventure and imaginative situations Logan was put in. All visualized greatly by Mike Henderson. Killed for 12 straight issues. Although we all new it was coming, it still was a stiff punch to the gut to see Old Man Logan finally go to meet up with his wife and kids. Amazing book.

3.5 rounded up.

The Old Man Logan saga comes to an end, and of course it fittingly ends where it started, in the Wastelands. Logan runs afoul of a Hulk, Sabretooth, and another familiar X-Man villain who I won't spoil, all on his quest to finally die.

Given how hopeless it had begun to feel for Logan, he definitely gets around during these last few issues, almost as if his healing factor isn't as much of a problem any more, which feels like a stalling of momentum that we've been building up since Brisson took over the character. It's not a bad thing necessarily, but it's definitely odd, like the writer was so happy to play in the Wastelands that he forgot his main character was dying until the last few issues where he had to get him back on track.

The overall conclusion comes across a bit quick, all things considered, so the pacing's off all around. But the final few pages pack a big enough punch that I'll overlook that, and there's even some scope to return to the Wastelands and the characters (that aren't dead) that live there.

Mike Henderson's art remains rock-solid throughout, 12 issues without a fill-in and they all sparkle. The Declan Shalvey covers are nothing to sniff at either.

Even Old Man Logan himself says that he felt he was just filling in a space till the 616 Wolverine came back, but that doesn't make his story any less impactful, especially now that it's come to an end.

Oh wow. I wasn't thinking they could actually close this out well, but they did. It's a weird situation to have to finish up, what with the bringing him into the regular world and then sending him back, but they pulled it off. It was dark and gross and upsetting just like the original OML.

Old Man Logan clatters to a conclusion approximately a thousand issues after it began. Unsurprisingly, this final volume features Old Man Logan slicing and dicing bad guys and generally defying death. It's nice to see him back in the Wasteland, but it also feels like it could have happened ten volumes ago. Nothing about this final volume feels particularly special or unique.

It's good and fun, of course, but it's hardly original. Old Man Logan just wants to get home to his dead family, though (surprise!) he's sent sideways by the reappearance of Young Hulk and Dina Cage: characters we of course remember from Old Man Logan issue #1. Welcome Back, Logan is action-packed, like the entire series, but there's not as much pathos as you'd expect from Logan's actual, final death.

Yes Old Man Logan is back in the Wastelands. Sabretooth is hot on his heels but Wolverine has a good crew to help him get back to the ranch. I really think this volume is a good follow up to the story that Millar started.

A much better, well deserved ending needed for such a legend of a character. Wolverine is one of my favourites in the comic book world, and old man Logan is such a great variation of a character dealing with loss, defeat and anger. He has nothing to lose, therefore let the rage out!

As his obituary said on the last page: it was his duty at this point to find his peace and be alongside his family in the end. Old man Logan already was defeated, it was all about at this point finding his way back home as he gradually felt his powers decrease. And with the way old man Logan series ended, this was a much better, well deserved finish, although the rush of the last issue suggested that they were done and needed to quickly move on. Still, a great ending to one of the best characters out there.

I also like this because it justified, to me, just how powerful Mysterio really is. That guy is a top 10 villain for sure, and he ‘retired’ knowing that. You can have fire blazing, sword welding, laser shooting characters, and then there’s mysterio with the art of illusion manipulating the world around him with such ease. Ridiculously cool, and I’d love to see him in future comics be incredibly villainous.

Bringing Logan back to the Wasteland really was the right choice at this point. The grittier and more focused story really allows the character of Logan to do what he does best--survive and protect those closest to him.

Even having read the original Old Man Logan, this volume brings in some fairly unsettling violence that felt like a bit more than was necessary. Also, without some new direction, this is a premise reaching the end of its time--just like Logan himself. And with that in mind, Brisson, Henderson, and the rest draw this chapter of Logan's story to a close in dramatic fashion.

Dani makes for a great character, and this volume draws from the original graphic novel more than most previous entries in the series. It brings things full circle along with some satisfying dramatic twists.

While something about Brisson's run with the character never quite lived up to what we've seen before, "Welcome Back, Logan" is a strong, emotional finale to Logan's current adventures, delivering final notes that are satisfying and true to all that has come before.

A true end to the "Old Man Logan" saga, this Volume sees our hero finally back to his home in The Wastelands. Having been gone for a very long time, he's been assumed dead, so his return has a lot of interested parties. Just trying to get home so he can die next to the graves of his wife and children, Logan must first:
- survive being snacked on by a cannibal family
- teaming up with Dani Cage (who near the end takes up Mjolnir!) and Hulk Jr
- fighting a religious cult and a Hulk Killer monster with re-growing lungs
- A re-formed Sabretooth (was previously cut into pieces and scattered) and his gang, and alliance with Sinister (who is somehow still alive)

Obvious battle and carnage, and a satisfying ending for the character. Might actually be nice to own omnibuses of the full story.
Strong recommend, but start at the beginning!

3.5, rounding down.

Not a bad ending for Logan. My only beef is that every other page Logan bemoans his deteriorating state and says he can't go on much longer, gets his lungs popped out or is hit by a car, then proceeds to shred whatever mutant, monster, or cultist is in his way.

What does the user agreement for Mjolnir look like? How many Asgardian lawyers does it take to define "pure of heart,"? And wouldn't any practical god demand some worship for the use of his most iconic and prized artifact?

The pacing and action are quite good. The art is good without being remarkable. The dialogue could be better. Wolverine had better lines as Patch back in Madripoor than he does as Old Man Logan.

Read this review or all of my reviews on my site!

And so it ends as it began. Logan and a Hulk, in the Wastelands.

The best part? Saberteeth. So many Sabertooths. Sabertoothipode?

The weirdest part? Suddenly Mjolnir?

I’ll admit… Thor’s speech patterns (and font) coming with the hammer is pretty funny.

I really feel like I missed something. Been a weird series for a while.

And now it ends. Where to next?

Probably 2.5 stars...

It isn't bad, really. It just felt particularly predictable while at the same time being a "greatest hits" version of the wasteland that old Logan came from.

It was time, though, for this character's story to end. That said, I wish that the last volume had a bit more heart to it as it was a series that often surprised me with how much I liked it. This one was just a bit of a letdown, I felt.

Still worth the read if you have come along on Logan's journey this far. But not the best ending.

About as good as it can get, I guess, which still isn't very good. It seems like this series, this story, should have more impact, more gravitas, more whatever. But it just seems a bit..."off." It just doesn't connect the way it should. But Logan's back in his alternate universe, teamed up with the daughter of Luke Cage and the last surviving Hulk baby, and facing off against cannibals, Sabretooth, and Mister Sinister, before at last getting his wish to return home to his Sacramento ranch. Good art again in this one. Mike Henderson needs more work.

So we finally get an end to the Old Man Logan saga, and it did go out with a bang. Probably about as good an ending as you could hope for. After thinking volume 1 of the series wasn't dark enough, this volume went almost too dark. I guess be careful what you wish for. Still a really good volume, and I just prefer Old Man Logan in the Wastelands, which is what we got here. I have to say overall the Old Man Logan series was probably as good a Wolverine story as we've ever seen.

Gostei do final acho que dead man logan é superior a fase do ed em old man logan.

It was time for this. This version of Logan had run his course, and it was time to let him go. And as a send off for a character like this, somebody who has done everything he could possibly do in a story and is still well-liked, this is about as good as it gets. Logan does what he set out to do, and goes out the way he wanted. Can't ask for much more than that.

After really disliking the previous dead Man Logan books, this one turns it around. It's not the heart wrenching ending I expected after such a brilliant start way back with Bendis/Lemire, but they drug it out a bit too far for that and I knew it, so I wasn't upset with the ending. Still. Good action, good payoff and a few surprises make for a great ending to a fun ride.

The original Old Man Logan series is one of my all-time favorites. I found the continuation of the series to be a little hit-or-miss, but this conclusion was fantastic. A very exciting and elegiac ending that almost got me choked up. I didn't LOVE the art as much as the original series, but it worked. The story was great though.
