My name is Luna. I applied to a job ad that sounded too good to be true. It was! I'm being sent to an Alien Planet to marry an Alien guy with four-arms. But now I'm here, I just found out I'm getting FIVE Alien husbands not one. This was not what I applied for. But one of the Alien guys broke my Translator and things are about to get messy.
Luna Touched is the first in a series of standalone books. This book is Reverse Harem. Sexy Aliens with four-arms and tails... what more could you want?
Belle has an addiction to reading, notebooks, coloured pens and mint chocolate. She lives in the beautiful Australian bush, surrounded by wildlife and the smell of eucalyptus trees. She also has a strong love for all 60’s music, believes she was born in the wrong era and should have been at Woodstock. If you would like to find out more about Belle, please come like and follow her Facebook Page or join her facebook group "Author Belle Harper Reading Group"
This ebook is HEAVILY inspired by Stacy Jones' Chosen series. As in, if you've read Chosen, you've basically read this book. The alien males are almost exactly the same (they have tails and four arms, they live in trees, their society is run by females, the males have to be 'chosen', etc) and the style of writing/tone is similar too. The plot, thin though it is, also follows along similar lines: unwanted, rejected males getting chosen by a human female as part of her male harem and becoming a family unit.
Furthermore, while the writing is definitely amateurish - far too much 'telling' rather than 'showing' - what really lets this one down is the numerous grammatical errors littered throughout the text. It really took away from my enjoyment of the story.
I will say though that this book does retain much of the charm of Stacy's original - so if you treat it purely as lighthearted fluff for mindless entertainment only...then you'll enjoy it. If you're put off by poor grammar and obvious misspellings in your novels then perhaps give this one a miss.
Ruby Dixon recommended this on her FB page, so I thought it was worth checking out.
Kindle Unlimited Reverse Harem
This was a surprisingly enjoyable story! I recommend it to all my fellow alien-romance crack addicts. This hits the spot. But it’s a little on the short side.
Futuristic earth. Luna is sick of her job and answers a want-Ad for a job as an alien bride. The people arranging this tell the ‘brides’ next to nothing about the culture or their future husband(s).
Translators get broken, cultural taboos get stomped on. It’s sweet. Kind of reminded me of a mix of VC Lancaster’s Ruth/Gron books combined with MK Eidem’s Grim.
Tiny cliffhanger at the end that didn’t irritate me. It was more of an eye-roller. But I’m definitely looking for the sequel. Recommended
I really enjoyed this take on reverse harem. The alien customs were a nice twist and the moments that were lost in translation made me LOL. Definitely recommend
Do you like RH (Reverse Harem) Romance? Do you like Alien Romance like Ruby Dixon? Do you like lots and lot of sex?
You are going to love this book. I binged it like one great big supper. So freaking good.
The MC along with 5 other females agree to go to planet to be mates to the alien clans there. They meet them, and lets just say.. a little touch goes a long way. The girls must find a way to live with the new alien culture.
Happy and fun read.
Also, kudos to the author for being the first EVER romance book that I have read where the MC spits and doesn't swallow.
I can not wait for the next book and to hear another one of the girls stories! *Cough* Brooklyn *Cough*
This was an embarrassing mess of a book that only got progressively worse as it went on.
It was like the author had read both Chosen by Stacy Jones and Ruth’s Mated by V.C. Lancaster and decided she wanted to write her own version...except she had no idea how to write and couldn’t afford an editor.
Anachronisms (and inconsistent language structure/formality even outside of that).
Inappropriate word choices.
Inappropriate reactions to stimuli.
Stilted and cyclical dialogue.
Abysmal pacing (the entire thing was rushed).
Almost entirely telling rather than showing.
Contrived conflicts.
Shallow character relationships.
Next to no description of anything (because it seems Harper never learned how).
Downright sucky love scenes (as a result of the rushing, telling rather than showing, awkward and superfluous dialogue, extremely limited description - and what was there was borderline clinical, and vagueness).
Idiot heroines.
No female character development (the obnoxious, childish heroine didn’t learn to appreciate foreign culture and compromise...she just got pregnant).
Poorly represented themes like government (because the heroine - and author - understand nothing, think nothing through, and develop nothing).
Shallow world building which was promptly undermined.
Offensive behaviour toward other cultures...
Frigging, the list goes on.
And don’t even get me started on the heroine of the next novel in the series, Brooklyn. The girl was present for less than a page toward the end and in that short time I couldn’t wrap my own head around how much I loathed her.
How does someone be so catastrophically stupid and callous of another culture?
The battery for her translator died after a day so she assumed it was defective and frigging threw it away knowing there was no one to help her or give her another?
She couldn’t be bothered to pay any frigging attention to the people around her because she’s so gosh darned affectionate so she “inadvertently” ruined 20 men’s lives by peeing all over a fundamental part of their culture?!
I hate nothing so much as inconsiderate people.
It’s one thing to slut it up if you’re having fun and not hurting anyone (because only awful people assign negative connotations to sexual freedom), but it’s another thing entirely if you’re going to be willfully selfish and possibly permanently hurt this many innocent people. Frigging how many virgins did she mow through before she realized maybe there was a cultural thing keeping most of them that way? 19 too many.
She just assumed they liked to hug...genitals.
(Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me...)
Once I might allow as an honest mistake, but frigging 19 more times is just unconscionable.
This author is an insult to the community and I’ll not be making the mistake of suffering through any more of her “work”.
All I can say is hello purple. It's like Belle harper wrote this book for me. Hot aliens and all the purple that could possibly be in one book. There was a line in the book about if you loved purple than this planet was meant for you. And it is meant for me can I go.
This book was a quick read but the author did a great job developing all of the characters and the relationship. I really enjoy when they have to learn each others language. It was more so done of the guys part in this book.
Can't wait for the next book...bring on more purple men 🤤
This was great for a comfy, yet sexy, afternoon read. After Luna and a few other human women sign up to get married to aliens, Luna gets the shock of her life to find out there are 5 chosen aliens waiting to mate with her. But one of them is a dick and she's not just going to mate a bunch of guys that were selected for her by one of the rare female alien queens. Luna has a mind of her own, so of course she gets banished. And of course dick broke her translator and the aliens now have to learn English. I kind of wandered why Luna didn't learn alien-speak instead but heck, the men want to cherish and pamper her, so let 'em! Their miscommunication is funny and interesting and surprisingly, never frustrating.
I loved Luna and her mates.
Luna: "No, not going to be the queen, I want to this run fairly. Where I am from, we have a president, and they are kind of like the queen, but they are voted in. And members of the government vote on things, so everything is fair and equal."
Also Luna: "I voted myself to be the president, only because there wasn't much else I could do."
I think I'd consider this an upgrade of Ruth's Bonded. Like a fan fic. Super enjoyable though! The language barrier was used for just the right amount of time, the heroine was not an annoying prude, and the heroes were great. All the things I hated about Ruth's bonded and its sequel - the language barrier persisting, the rejection of Troii, and the ridiculous Deus ex machina - are absent or fixed here. However the writing is nowhere near good enough, and I agree with other reviews that in this area this book is super amateur.
Other downsides were the rather abrupt ending, the somewhat slut shaming of the girl with 20 guys (although the logistics of housing them all would probably be daunting lol), and the bad guy following them with a whole army only to then disappear after the incident. That felt like a cheap plot device to get the romance going.
Loved this book. On a new planet where touch equals mate, Luna struggles to get her feet under her. But whEn she finally figures it out, she goes and starts her own clan. Can’t wait to see what happens next width that entrance Brooklyn made haha!!
This was a fun book. The story was fast and to the point but the characters and the funny situations they find themselves in really makes it a worthwhile read.
This is an amazing read that will take you away within the first few pages. It moves along at the perfect reading speed making for an enjoyable read. You will fall in love with these fantastic characters and no matter what you want to see them succeed. This book is a must read, there is no doubt about it and you will be telling your friends all about it.
There is so many things about this book that I didn't like. Luna for one was like a two year old throwing a temper tantrum.. when she didn't get her way she stump her feet. I'm as a orphan shouldn't you be more I don't know mature than this. Also not being more opened minded about their culture once you learnt the truth of how many you should marry, no I'm not saying she should have married that butthole of a alien but there are others now with her. Another thing if something was taught to you your whole life and you knew nothing else but that one thing you don't just change your ways in a blink of an eye. I'm sorry but this first book turned me off, there is just to much that could have been explained and not thrown to the wolves then maybe the mc would have been done better than this
Purplenanza. Four arms. Humor. Muscular. Sexy. Another universe. Sign me up!
The way Belle Harper weaves her story allows you to be so immersed in the book that time just flies by, this has been an excellent read! Luna has sass and kicks ass, her men, well lets just say I drooled throughout the entire process of reading.
Luna touched was my first book of hers and already her other works are in my tbr list. Looking forward to her next installments!
I like this book it had an interesting dynamic. The story was engaging, entertaining and really fun to read...BUT the ending left A LOT to be desired, it just ended, no resolving of issues no finishing of anything. The story took you on a nice romantic ride filled with believeable characters that actually get you invested in their lives and futures. Then abruptly drops you over a cliff into nothingness. I would give it more stars but that ending ruined the whole story.
I'm kind of meh about this. It could have been really cool but the author doesn't take the time to properly develop the story. I don't know anything about Luna or her guys. I don't understand the deal with the other kinds of aliens. I'm just frustrated with the lack of back story. The author tells rather than shows so it was difficult to get into the story. Overall, it was just okay.
Wow, what a way to pop my Alien Cherry! I have never read this genre before and I want more. Luna is so easy to fall in love with, she's kind, caring and hilarious. The writing was so well done that I could picture the scenery and imagine what each character would look like, I'm looking forward to book 2.
Beautiful, dangerous new alien world check, hot steamy panty dropping Alien men check check. I loved this new series by Belle it was entrancing from start to finish can’t wait for the next book!!!
I have read something similar but it doesn't meant I didn't enjoy this book, it's bloody good and hot as hell. Wow touching someone brings a whole new meaning lol Its a fast paced, gives another meaning to word mail order brides. Loved it ****
I’m a little undecided on this one. I didn’t connect very well at all with the h and the guys weren’t alpha at all. I might read the next one but I’m not sure.
"He smiled down at me—those four arms wrapping me in the gentlest hug—and whispered, ‘Luna…’ It was like my name carried the weight of stars."
***** Review with spoilers *****
I gotta say, my memory of this book was way better than what I actually got re-reading it. And that’s probably because I confused parts of it with another series — turns out, what I was remembering was from the Chosen series by Stacy Jones.
Honestly, this book had a lot of potential, but it lacked everything it needed to be good. There are no layers, everything is rushed, nothing is really worked through, and the motives behind everything are shallow and, honestly, kind of dumb.
For example, the reasons behind Luna claiming her Mates are either because she accidentally touched them and just went with it, or because she randomly decided she wanted them. Like with Axoh and Vallyn — it was basically instalove because they were nice to her. There was no real development in their relationship. She just thought they were hot and nice, touched them by accident, and then literally shrugged it off and kept going. Then, out of nowhere, Zigur and Daku show up and suddenly she wants them too — but again, without any reason. No development, barely any interaction. All her Mates were just picked like flipping a switch, no chemistry, no buildup. Even the sex scenes were boring because there was no connection between them.
And don’t even get me started on Nvaa. What do you mean she had the same amount of interaction with him as she did with Axoh and Vallyn, gave him main screen time multiple times, and then suddenly — out of nowhere — he becomes Quinn’s mate? That made absolutely no sense.
Oh, and none of the characters even have personalities. They’re just random aliens and one human woman thrown together for no real reason other than “they needed to be together.” There were moments where you could clearly see how flat that was — like when Luna says Vallyn is her sweet, shy, and funny mate and how Axoh is so different... and then Axoh turns around and acts exactly like Vallyn five seconds later. It’s just... same personality, different body.
Now, I did think the whole touch-equals-mating thing was kind of interesting, and I liked the idea that none of them really knew what was happening. I also appreciated the language barrier trope — it’s one I usually love in alien romance books. But even those things were poorly written and didn’t actually impact the story in any meaningful way.
In the end, this book was a big disappointment. I only finished it because I kept thinking it was going to give me parts I now realize were from Chosen. If anything, this book felt like a bad fanfic of Chosen —just a bunch of half-formed ideas thrown together with the hope that something decent would come out of it. But with no real story, no emotional connection, and no actual development, it just fell flat on every level. Honestly, a lost of time.
Main characters: Luna, Axoh, Vallyn, Zigur and Daku.
The ad sounded like a wonderful vacation, getting out of your boring job, going to new exciting places, meeting new people! By the time they revealed the actual facts, only 8 women remained to sign the NDA and travel to an alien planet. They would marry one of the Aashi men who live on Aarzyn and would live with one of the six different Clans. Their race was slowly dying because no female babies were being born. Now only 5 women remained in the group. They needed one more, Quinn, and she and Elle, Brooklyn, Hadley, and Jessica, all became close friends. This whole program was so the M’Mori aliens could mine for a special rock called Aket to power their spaceships, and would return the favor by transporting brides to the Aashi. Earth, of course, got a cut of the rocks to build and power their spaceships as well for defense, so everyone was happy.
On the day they landed, it became evident that they had not been told some important information they needed to know. For example, touching activates a mating bond! And humans are mostly tactile, loving to touch things to find out how they feel or smell or whatever. It doesn’t take much imagination to see what’s going to get started! The first issue was that the M’Mori had arrived too early and the chosen, who would get a bride, from Clan Zaali were still not there. Vallyn and Axoh had arrived early to prepare the hut for the female. Vallyn told Axoh they must step forward as chosen males of the Zaali Clan to claim their female and make sure their Clan gets one. When Luna was given to them, her scent immediately affected Axoh. She stretched out her hand to them, and they told her they were not her chosen – but he appeared to want to be!
Luna was sort of hurt that all the other ladies had 5 males to walk them back, while she only got 2 and they were not even her chosen. Why did they act afraid of her and tried to stay as far away as they could? When she met her chosen the next day, she immediately disliked the Queen’s son, Nezyn, and would not let him dismiss Vallyn. He also wanted to replace Axoh as her healer, but she wouldn’t allow it. When she set her translator in the sun to charge, Nezyn deliberately stepped on it and she punched him – so why did that make him smile? But when Axoh and Vallyn, and two Outcasts Daku and Zigur who followed her are strongly attracted to her by her scent, there may be some big problems on the horizon!
This was a delightful book. It was funny and the characters were great! The situations that came up throughout were hilarious. And just wait until the ladies find out they are not getting just one mate! Oo-la-la! Grab your copy and enjoy the beginning of their HEA where language, culture, and lack of crucial information make for a chaotic result!
Luna goes to a job interview and finds out the job is actually a search for brides. At this interview she finds out that aliens are real and they want wives. So the agents and other aliens in charge of this program keep the selected women in the dark about a lot of things. Like all the customs and lifestyle on the planet they are going to.
I don’t want to say much more than that because that’s part of the fun, finding all these things out with Luna.
I thought this was a pretty fast paced book, I didn’t really want to put it down. But it also felt too short. Like when I read the end I was completely surprised I had reached the end.
The problem I usually have with RH was not present here. I usually can’t stand RH with alpha males. It just doesn’t work for me. But when it’s an alien culture, I’m much more accepting of RH. The problem I had with this one was I would have liked better relationship building between some of the characters. And the two characters I kept expecting play a bigger role got a quick acceptance and then the end of the book came, and the other one... ok I need to rant here for a second.
So I loved reading this, but I ended it with a feeling of dissatisfaction in a way because I didn’t think the relationships were really fleshed out. But also I thought the clan that they left would end up being a bigger problem. That was disappointing.
So the next book is about Brooklyn. I’m not sure I will read it though because she popped in at the very end of this book and I was so annoyed with her stupidity on the one page she was present, I don’t think I could read a whole book with her as the heroine. I hate dumb heroines. And it sounds like you can’t get more stupid than this girl.
I’d give this book a total 3.5 stars. It was a good read and an interesting take on a reverse harem and how it’s a matriarchal society. I thought that was an interesting take and was fun to see how it played out with the human women brought there versus those native to the planet.
My main issue was the pacing which to some extent I can understand it’s a shorter book but it just felt like a lot of the FMC’s relationships were rushed. I really liked the aspect of how once the MMC’s are touched it begins the mating process, I thought that was an interesting take and would’ve like to see it explored more especially with the last make she chose Daku. Plus in the beginning she thinks she’ll only mage with one, then decides to choose two, then randomly says she’s in love with a third and then at the very end finally decides to be with Daku as her fourth. I just felt like a good bit of the FMC Luna’s relationships were rushed. Her first two Axoh and Vallyn felt a bit more natural and I could see the build up to her third Zigur even but the moments they came together seemed so random. And the set up for her and Daku seemed rushed at the end and based on his backstory I would’ve liked to know a little more and a bit more care gone into it so I could’ve connected more as the reader to be invested in their story but it fell a little flat. However, I’ll always be a sucker for an HEA which I was happy they all got.
Not only that but I feel like a lot of things got left unsaid like are they still being hunted by their original clan? Why did Vallyn get mate markings so different from everyone else despite his shade of purple showcasing him to be weaker than the “strongest” males? What other ways does mating affect not just the aliens species but the human women brought there for them? Like at most the only thing that seemed to change or be affected were their libidos which to me doesn’t make for much emotional connection in their relationships. All in all it was a fun read but I wished I’d gotten lot more about the world as a whole.

good story, not completed though, and riddled with wording mistakes
Ok so awesome story line. I think this was my first time reading this author. it was a quick read and full of swoony purple alien males. great reverse harem. and the touch thing man makes you really think about how touchy feely we are to people we are just kinda meh about let alone hot for when out in this context. also hilarious when at the end one of the human females comes and the chaos I'm sure that will be brought up in the next book.
I found this story line wasnt completed though as it left I think a bit of a cliffhanger with the first guy involved in the mating chosen selected. that part of the story that belonged exclusively with Luna wasn't resolved at all.
A big downer for me though that distracted from the story was the amount of spelling and correctly spelled wrong words in it. I felt like I was constantly trying to interpret what was needed to be said in each selection and having to edit it to make it smoother or sound better. was it edited? I don't know... not done professionally any way is my guess. which like I said disappointing. I would have enjoyed it a star more if it was polished. I sometimes wish you could edit the story for these kinds of errors and they are sent to the author for approval so that another reader doesn't have the same experience.
good first book through and I do believe I have other titles by this author waiting to be read in my TBR. great intro to this world, might have labelled it more as a prequel or a novella because it didn't have a completed story with the promise of more story from Luna's side instead of another one of the 5 other humans that was brought to this planet.
oh and after all the waiting for Daku to make a move we didn't even get the experience of their mating just a brief mention of it. big time sad face on that one.
