R.I.P. Part One: Rest In Peace

~ Malakai ~

On the outside, we look normal, like an all-American Christian family, but behind the walls of this church basement, we are far from it.

My mother says it's her calling, my father says it's our blessing, and my sister says it's fun. I say we're fucked.

I dont know if what we're doing is really what God wants us to do, I just know that the more we do it, the more natural it feels.

Natural.

What we're doing and the reason behind it is far from natural.

In my family, love blends with hate, duty with torment, and blood with water.

We are the Courtenay family and this is the story about how it all went wrong.

R.I.P. Part Two: Rot In Pieces

~ Adriel ~

Her actions shattered my family, leaving it half alive.
And I hate her for it.

My brother is broken. His torment suffocates him as he claws his way through the aftermath of her decisions. Despite it all, he remains by my side.

The life we knew has been gutted, rotting into a million pieces. We have no home, nowhere to go, but I don’t care because we still have each other. He’s the only one that can see beneath my flesh to touch me in my darkest places.

Our choices have taken us on a new path. A shimmering sea of blood trails behind us on our search for purpose and reason.

No matter what happens, I refuse to let anything or anyone keep us apart.

I’ll burn the world to ash before I’ll let him go.

*Trigger Warning: This book contains many triggers. If you are not comfortable reading about taboo subject matter, gore, explicit/graphic situations and disturbing content, this book may not be for you.

R.I.P. is one of my favorite books from the author, and re-reading it gives you a different perspective of the book. I enjoyed it much better the second time around.
No clue why I have given it four stars the first time around. Even more so now, I love the cousin.

6/18/20 4 stars

Mouth dropping, WOW!!! I wanted incredibly taboo, and that is what I got. I am beyond words.

This book has many triggers, incest, rape, murder, etc... If you don't have any limits or not sensitive, this book is for you,

If you like taboo, darkness, twisted, messed up and incredible , I am telling you this book is for you. There are several Pov, and I felt all their emotions. I just loved Kai and just wanted to protect him, Adriel's darkness and but innocence and treated horribly by her mother. R.i.P. Is both disturbing and beautiful. I hope to see in future their cousin.

I just love this author, how her wild imagination is put so beautiful into paper.

Genre: Erotic Horror
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Malakai and Adriel Courtenay were raised to be good children who obeyed their parents. To an outsider’s eyes, they were a respected, god loving family. But behind the closed door, no one would have expected the kind of darkness that seeped into their veins.

It’s hard to find a book dark enough for my needs, but whenever I found one, my soul would be at peace. This book is one of those unicorns. Well, with poison-tipped horn and farting blood kind of unicorn lol!

Even though I didn’t realize I was purposely trying to hurt him, I was. Because he hurt me first. He said we were sick.

Before starting this book, I didn’t expect it to go to a certain direction, so I was pleasantly surprised by that. I loved how messed up the characters were. Adriel was my favorite because her “innocence” was endearing.

Most people are scared of dying, but I’m not. I’m excited to see what happens.

The sex scenes were hot and dirty especially those that involved external factors. I savored the depraved storyline and liked the ending even though I was hoping for a different conclusion.

R.I.P is a demented tale of embracing inner self. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a graphic and taboo story.

I might've cuddled with my cat for 30 minutes straight right after finishing this book.

I need that cuddle.

This is dark dark gory book, involving a family of killers and incest. Also 50% of that family members have Schizoaffective Disorder. Just, be ready for that truckload of... something... coming your way.

It’s Dexter meets House of a 1000 corpses meets Natural Born Killers!

If there’s any way to make you uncomfortable, this book accomplishes that. Whether it be depraved, the most taboo, the goriest or most inexplicably fucked up. I honestly didn’t think I had any triggers but this one hit it fucking hard. Let’s just say I wouldn’t mind destroying ‘Debbie’ (pisses me off even more that she has my name) with my bare hands.

Yet, while this book is fucked up on so many levels, it’s so well written and the plot is so enthralling. I was both nauseous and intrigued the whole way through.

The First half is visceral and disturbing, it made me feel desperately depressed and angry and heartbroken. The 2nd half lulls you into an acceptance that it’s kinda romantic. It’s the most fucked up romance imaginable but romantic nonetheless. And by the end, even though it’s still depraved and taboo there’s a sense of rightness in everything that’s so wrong.

Malakai and Adriel Courtenay find themselves in a unique situation, as they have been living a life that appears one way on the outside. Now that they can embrace their depraved cravings, Kai and Adriel are committed to fulfilling their dreams.

“You need to keep her tethered. Understand?”

This story is divided between two parts and narrated in multiple POV, which lends to an immediate sense of what makes these characters tick. As the plot unfolds, it’s apparent that boundaries do not exist and the characters all have their own inner demons to contend with.

“With those words, I fill her body with my own. And for the first time in my life, I feel a sense of peace.”

With a dark erotic tone and intriguing characters, this story completely hooked me from the beginning. Adriel has particularly fascinating impulses and I couldn’t wait to see what would transpire next. As for Kai, he is the whole sexy package. Also, the dynamic that occurred in part two was like adding dark sprinkles to an already overflowing taboo themed sundae.

R.I.P. is an erotic horror that creates empathy for characters but also blurs the lines of depravity.

REVIEW FOR PART 1:
Nobody writes the way Charity B. does. Nobody!!!! Each time I read one of her books, I find myself wondering where the he|| she comes up with such twisted, disturbing, creative, fascinating premises, characters and character behaviors! I read a ton of dark romance/erotica, but her books are never like anything else I’ve previously read. As with all of her books, RIP part #1 is 1000% innovative, shocking and un-put-down-able!!!!! This is by far the most f’ed up family you will ever read about! No one in this family is “normal“- their thoughts & actions will have you glued to your kindle!!!! The only bad thing about RIP part #1 is that it ends with a cliffhanger… I WANT MORE NOW!!!! I cannot wait to find out what happens in part#2!!!

REVIEW FOR PART 2:
I sooooo badly wish I had words to adequately describe how AMAZING this book is!!!!!!! There really and truly is nothing out there that comes even close to being similar to this book! It’s quirky, bizarre, disturbing, twisted and depraved, but it’s also eloquently written, unpredictable, entertaining, thought-provoking and so much more! The level of innovation and creativity is beyond description!!!! If you like your books dark (not gray but pitch-black, dark), you MUST read this book!!!! You will fall in love with Adriel and Malakai, and will miss them when the story ends!! I have over 11,000 books on my TBR that I am itching to read for the first time, yet I chose to read this book twice because I loved it so much! RIP deserves more than 5 stars (just like everything else Charity B. has written)!!! There truly is no author out there like her, and I doubt there ever will be! I am so grateful that I came across her books last year!!!!!

THE THE FUCK DID I JUST READ 😱 AND WHY THE FUCK COULDNT STOP!!!
This was like watching a train wreck and not being able to look away but also knowing once you see certain things you’ll never be the same.

This is somewhere between 1-3 stars all for various reasons. 😬🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😅
SO …….

I can’t even write a full review for this. I need time to process what I just read. And I think I need to see a therapist so I can figure out why I couldn’t stop reading and infact wanted to read more 😭. Cause by the end it was kinda sweet and entertaining??? 😬😅… gah this is so messed up.

I might have PTSD….. yes… yes I believe I do.

‼️This is NOT SAFE
Read the triggers
I mean…if there is something that triggers you I can guarantee this has it.

‼️Lots and lots of incest.

‼️Lots of murder and mayhem

‼️No cheating but he is fucking his mommy for like 5-6 yrs while he is obsessed and thinking of his sister the h.

‼️Of course this is sexual child abuse from a parent to a child….. so he definitely didn’t have lust or desire.

Hes 18yr old before it ends and she (his sister the h) watches them while touching herself and is upset that he pounds his moms pussy hard 😬…. Fuck I don’t even know. 🤦🏼‍♀️ This was just so messed up and now I’m feeling all sort of ways.

‼️Virgin h

And the stuff mentioned above is really just the tip of the iceberg. A lot messed up stuff happens so check the trigger warnings.

I will say I loved how unhinged our h was 🤭 she was messed up lol

3 morbid stars 🔪🎭

I really really wanted to like it and i did like first half of this book but then it just felt ehh...😶

Its dark and being a dark romance lover without much triggers, its really DARK. But it didn't made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe because of the writing or the character's inner thoughts but when the things in this book should have my skin crawling normally well it didn't.

Maybe the author invested too much time making it dark/uncomfortable to read that it lacked character/story development. 😬

I didn't like any of the characters. I did like the story though but it fell bland after 60% of this book. 🤕

I forced myself to finish the last 25% not because i gave a fuck about characters but because i wanted to know how the story would end. 😒

DISAPPOINTED!!!

Trigger warning: mental sickness, blood lust(literally), child abuse, rape, incest, homicide, murder, bully, several religious triggers.

I'm Bucky always. I will say I wanted to feel more anticipation and anxiety reading this though. I went into it to feel nauseous, sweaty and questioning my choices that had led me to this point but a lot of the time I was just bored :/ Even though the ending was a bit too convenient for my taste, it was also the kind of fucked up conclusion I needed to end this story on a high note so yay for that at least

R.I.P is the story of a fucked up family, messy and screwed up. It's dark and extremely taboo but it's not why I DNFed it. The story was overshadowed by so many sex scenes and it dragged. I got tired of reading the same thing over and over... Hope you enjoy it more than me but proceed with caution!

Wrong Wrong Wrong, But We'll Do It Anyway 'Cause We Love A Bit Of Trouble
*read on KU. No need for sugar daddies called promo teams*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Repeat from my Skeleton King review: This is a crazy book. Not everyone is going to LIKE or ENJOY it. This isn’t meant for everyone. That’s okay. It’s very dark and twisted. That’s all you need to know!

Let me start of by saying that Skeleton King was better. I don't know why Skeleton King has a lower rating. This story was much crazier than Skeleton King - I didn't know that was possible, but Charity B. makes it possible. I don't feel comfortable talking about the chemistry between characters, but it was definitely there between the two main leads. The author gets a lot of credit for her creativity and willingness to think outside the box. With this story, I felt like some of the back and forth was too much or too late. If it had been placed differently, I might have found myself more invested there. The part somewhere around 60-85% wasn't for me. All in all, this was a great second read from Charity B. and I'm definitely interested in reading more of her work because she seems very promising. I recommend this to people who are brave, open-minded, and don't take this stuff too seriously.

Wow... I think this is the most graphic, disturbing, depraved book I have read so far. It was filled with murder, torture, and taboo themes like I’ve never read before.

I’m surprised that this was available on Kindle Unlimited as I’ve heard some of the other incest-related books have been removed from amazon altogether. Then add in the other themes... 😳

I was kind of horrified, but drawn in to the story that I couldn’t stop reading it. I hated the mother and how she treated her daughter, but especially how she treated her son. I felt a little sick after reading those chapters...

I connected with the two siblings, Malakai and Adriel. I’m glad they had each other to get through a pretty messed up childhood and beyond.

Honestly I’m still trying to process what I just read. I wouldn’t say I didn’t like this book but it almost feels like I’d be fucked up to say I liked it.

EDIT:
I can’t stop thinking about this book 3 months later and I can now say that I liked it AND I’d read it again. So maybe I’m fucked up, oh well! Haha.

Moving my rating up to 4.5⭐️

This book absolutely deserves a spot on my ab fab shelf!!!
R.I.P. is dark, taboo (incest), depraved, twisted, bloody, and ultimately unique!!! 💀🔪☠️🩸
Nothing of what happened was even remotely normal, and I thoroughly enjoyed the freakishly crazy ride! Just don't take this stuff too seriously 😏.... read and savor!

I admit... Charity B.'s writing may not be for everyone! 😉 Heed the trigger warnings!! If you are not comfortable reading about taboo subject matter, gore, explicit/graphic situations and disturbing content, this book may not be for you..... and ain't that right!!! 🤪
However... I absolutely 💖loved💖 everything about it!
And Adriel's creations were so cute and creative! 🥰
’Mr. Rirrel and Mr. Squabbit, Scabecca, Ponkey, Sluma, Beddy.....

I love how Charity B. dares to write stuff other authors don't even dare to think about! Looks like nothing, and I mean nothing, is too bizarre, too disturbing or too provoking for Charity?? Every time I read one of her stories, I wonder how the hell she comes up with something so twisted and disturbing... how she comes up with such deliciously sick and psycho characters.
Her writing is super creative, thought-provoking, extremely entertaining... and above all, unique!!!
Nobody writes like Charity!! 😁

Holy Shit!

Well, I needed some fresh air of Dark Horror, and that is exactly what was delivered in R.I.P. Parts 1 and 2 by Charity B. This was a new-to-me Author, though I *will* be checking out her other works.

I am so thankful I haven’t yet read the Anthology in which “Part 1” of this novel first appeared. Having the opportunity to read it, going in blind, in its entirety was a true horrific delight.

This was not one of those Erotic Horror books that I found hot bc I’m weird like that. This was simply a captivating story for me, and the writing I found to be great, considering the complexity of how the story is told.

I couldn’t even begin to review a book like this; so I’ll save that for those who can & do it so well, regardless of opinion. My reading experience inside my head was something like... “Oh, no don’t go there”... “They went there.”... “Don’t do that!!”... “He/She did that”...”Noooo.. oh, shit it happened.”

This is a book of Horror; and even some Horror readers will not like it. This book is not for everyone, for a variety of reasons. Almost any trigger I can think of is in this book! Truly heed those warnings with this one. I consider myself to be a true Dark Lover of all points on the spectrum....and this was boundary pushing for even me. However, that said, I fkn loved it!

DNF! I don't mind dark themed romance novels but someone should put a big INCEST WARNING sign somewhere. You can NEVER EVER make Incest sexy. You have to draw the line somewhere before we begin to normalise this behaviour and then before we know it, we'll have books about heroines and heroes getting on with their pets.

Buddy read with my girl Artalee.

Guys. I haven’t read a book in a very long time that I thought reached my limits. When I started this book, I wasn’t prepared for what I read, not at all.

BIG TRIGGER WARNING

I can read almost anything. I have actually read almost everything in the romance erotic category, but this book exceeded the limits I didn’t even know I had. And honestly, it could’ve just been how the story and characters played it out too.

This exceeded the child abuse factor most books touch and then build from the situation, but usually people don’t create more sex scenes with it. It went extremely overboard. Limit #1.
I do not think I have never read about actual siblings, two related people!, have sex. Limit #2.
This along with the child abuse and then the father and then the murders along with it!....it was too much for me.

Me and Artalee both thought that we can read dark romance books. I can even do the kinkiest books out there, but I don’t do just absolutely fucked up like this. Like while reading this book I was just questioning the author throughout.
Like what has to be going through her head when she writes these books? I question it. To combine all of these things with such gruesome detail and emotions! Down to even how the killings took place too...I don’t know I just questioned it.

Why did I give it 1.5 stars instead of 0 stars?? Because I cant deny the fact that i continued to read. I was thoroughly disturbed, but I decided to continue to read to make a full educated opinion on the book. And you know what? I’m glad the characters got what their desired ending in the second part. Through all the fucked up themes in this book (so messed up), I’m happy for these fictional characters that I hope aren’t based on ANY type of truth.

And I got to give it to the author, this provoked very very strong feelings from me so I got to give her that at least. Right? Conflicted here people!

But it was truly messed up and this will be my first and last book read by this author. My limit was met and I’m still questioning this author thoroughly.

1.5 star rating.

This book was just crazy!
There was so much going on that I don't know where to start.
This book was not for the faint at heart.

Growing up as a preachers kid on the outside everything looks normal but what about behind closed doors? Malakai and Adriel grow up in a crazy insane household the mother was an undertaker who talked to the dead and hated her daughter, but she loved her son a little too much. I think she hated the daughter because was just like her crazy. The father the preacher who would do anything for his wife even kill for her and he did even bring in the kids to help. Both kids are outcast at school and I loved that the daughter Adriel takes matters into her own hands. This book had some very disturbing subject matters in it untreated mental illness is just one of them. Adriel at a young age begins killing and cutting up creatures mice and rabbits and squirrels cutting the heads off and sewing them onto other animals something she learned by doing it to dolls and stuffed animals a little psychopath. While this was disturbing it was also really good I couldn't put it down the characters were so broken yet they loved each other. I really liked Malakai, but I thought that Adriel was too child like at times. I felt bad for both of them in part 1 in part 2 their situation gets worse I mean they were both bullied in school and after there parents death it got worse. After the death they find out they have family on the fathers side and the family business is something they are very familiar with. The sex scenes were hot and disturbing I mean who stops to have sex while covered in blood crazy people that's who. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. If you like reading dark, taboo disturbing reads than this is the book for you it's not for the faint at heart and it has a lot of triggers in it.

This book? This book right here? This is the best kind of awful there is.

I have long ago stopped asking myself why I’m so fucked up :-) I don’t care why I’m fucked up, I just roll with it now.

And because I embrace who I am in all my fucked-up-ness, I LOVED this book!

Mhmm, this one had all the triggers.

ALL. OF. THEM!

Incest, non-consent, violence, mental illness, child abuse, darkest of dark stories.

Think of all of the awful things that could happen to child or person and I guarantee it’s in this book.
So, yeah...not for the faint of heart but it was sooo well written.

ADRIEL

Omg! I have never loved a wee psychopath as much as I do this lass!
Even her delusions and ‘creations’ are cute. Disturbing, yes but also adorable.

And although she has a craving for the...darker side of life I just can’t fault her.

She and her brother have been brought up in such a messed up household.
Their mum is ill. Very seriously mentally ill. And as with all mental illnesses, it is not her fault but it does affect her family to the extreme.

Basically mum hates Adriel and loves Malakai.

She thinks Adriel is evil and can’t even stand to acknowledge she exists.
Adriel knows this and guys, it just leaves her with a gaping hole in her soul as all she wants to do is love and be loved in return.

Well...most of the time, lol.

She’s the perfect mix of innocence and crazy rage.

But she’s different and all the kids at her school know it and have made her life outside the home as well as inside it just awful.

MALAKAI

This lad is not quite as fucked up as his sister is and I’ll be honest. I spent a long time wishing that he was!

Life would be so much easier for him if he just...stopped thinking about right and wrong!

He was never gonny get out of that house with all of his mental faculties intact. He just wasn’t.
Not after his mum loved him so much...too much...you feel me?

He tries so hard to be good. To do the right thing.

I wish he didn’t try so hard.
I loved him and felt for him and cried for him and cheered for him.

ALL. OF. THE. FEELS!

SICK & SEXY SCENES
This is another one where I need to say the following:

!!***TRIGGER WARNING***!!

He glistens in the setting sun, the blood appearing black in the dimming light. It’s all over him. Dripping from his jaw and smeared across his shirt. It’s the most captivating thing I’ve ever seen. With a hand on each of his cheeks, I kiss him. “I love you.” He swallows my whisper as his slippery hands slide to the back of my neck. His tongue slips into my mouth, deepening our kiss. Never separating from his lips, I shift around to straddle Carl’s cadaver. “He wanted to fuck us so bad.” I stroke the hilt of the knife and smirk at the raised eyebrows on Kai’s face. “It looks like he’s ready.” Moving my panties, I line the hilt of the knife up with my aching entrance, and slide down over it. “Fuck, Adriel.” His chuckle is erotically sinister. Oh yes, I like this side of him. His fingers tangle in my hair while he stands, undoing his jeans. They drop to the floor as he tears the shirt from his body. I clench around the knife the moment he releases his cock. Stroking himself, he smears crimson across his shaft. My hips move faster, blood covering my thighs and pussy. “Suck his blood off me.” He will never have to ask me twice. The coppery taste hits my tongue as I lick up his length. The forcefulness of his hand pushing against the back of my head causes little stars to burst in my tummy. I suction my mouth around him in quick, hard sucks. Gripping both sides of my head, he thrusts harder. “Oh, my God, yes. Suck my cock.” The sound of every whispered, “Fuck,” speeds up the pulse in my veins. At his words I rub myself faster, fucking the handle so hard, the corpse beneath me jolts with every thrust. My bottom hits the fabric of his dirty jeans with how deep I’m taking the hilt. I adore the sound of Kai’s moans even more than I loved their screams.

Final Thoughts on R.I.P. by Charity B

I know, I know! I’m a sick puppy but I lost myself in this dark and twisted book. I need more!
It’s love in all of it’s dark, bloody, twisted, confusing, glory.
But please take heed of the warnings, ok? Those of you that continue...you are my tribe!

Dark freakishly depraved and ultimate Unique!!!

One of a kind and a story I have never read before.
I admire Charity B for her courage to come up with such a utterly twisted and delicious unique good read.
The title is also well thought out.
Love love love it.

The problem with taboo and dark romance books, is that the more the authors want to make it with a mix between disturbing and hot, the dumber they get, I knew this would have incest because it is mentioned in the triggers, but here the thing is that the plot is so bad that it even makes me laugh, it doesn't disturb me guys, no, it makes me laugh.

The only thing I truly hated in this book was how the female main character talked. It was hard to read in a child-like voice the entire time, but other than that I enjoyed the wild ride of Adrian and Malakai ❤️
