It’s a race against time for Wren and her four mates. If they win that battle, the foundation will be set for an epic war for the throne. Queen versus queen.

Blood against blood. With both queens at four mates each, the playing field is matched. Or is it?

Just one more mate could ensure Wren’s claim to the throne.

He kept his mouth shut while lurking just out of her reach, always watching, driven only by his need for vengeance. But then everything changed, and it sent him into a tailspin. The wrong choice became the right one, and right became wrong. His only anchor? His heart.

One thing’s for certain though—a queen needs to die. And he might be the final piece of the puzzle, the thriller, to make that happen.

**This is a medium-burn reverse harem vampire romance.**

Things I liked:

1. The fifth mate.

Things I didn't like:

1. Everything else.

Okay, that's really harsh and untrue, but I really was disappointed. Everything seemed so rushed, and I didn't feel like I got a true ending. If this had been just another book in the series, and not the final installment, then I would have been okay. As it is though, this is the final book, and I wasn't feeling it.

Now, I know that I am very much in the minority when it comes to this opinion, but If anything, that just pisses me off. It's kind of like a go-to cookie-cutter HEA, and I am not a fan of it.

Additonally, this book raised more questions for me, and I was left really unsatisfied. I mean, I could go on and on, but I won't. I'll stop there; you get my point.

Anyways, as you can tell, I am not very satisfied with this ending, but I'm happy that I at least got to see one thing fulfilled that I was hoping for.

Kick arse vampire female main character. Four maybe five mates. The RH is a little different because she is aware she has five mates, but part of the storyline is finding them. While taking revenge, coming to terms with who she is and what she's expected to be, and learning a new social political vampire world she never knew about.
This is something that ticks at me, I feel like I missed it. Wren thinks she's one of the last vampires. But the 5th book in, we know there was a vote in the Senate about Vampire's. There's VTV vampire television. I mean, how can she of spent years hunting down her mums killers and not realise there are more. So this is why I think I must have missed something. I'm not sure if humans are aware of vampires already or not.
The main sups are vamps, but we meet ghosts, demons, Celestials, witches, and shifters.
A lot happens and needs to happen in each book. And I found the pace perfect, did not feel like they were stretching it out or rushing it. The steamy smut is fast but hot and has enough detail in the right places to make you envious. But the smut doesn't take away from the plot. It's almost a connection moment we get to see more about their dynamic and thoughts.

This book ends in a HEA, and it's a relief after everything that happened. I felt satisfied at the end and a little book hangover.
Oh, an Hawk, I love he is so sweet about animals he makes an appearance in a part of the tale his not in to redact harm of animals. Actually, I love all her mates and how she showed them how to love and showed her their love.
It's violent, dark at times, twisty turny, smutty but sweet and naturally humorous series, and I seriously love all the characters, seriously 😉

I will not be sharing any spoilers, so this review will be pretty vague. This is also going to be on this book AND the series.

In book 5 Wren and her mates are set to "Sever the Crown" from Ravana's treacherous head. We learn a lot about Bronwyn (Wren's mother and former queen vamp of the southern clan), more about the mates, and about Queen Eleanor of the Northern Clan. (Whom I hope has her own book because I worship her!)

I had intended on taking my time reading this last installment as I didn't want it to end, but I was entranced by the clever writing of Mysti Parker and Lindsey Loucks. So much action without any boring repetition!

As a whole, and I've been saying this since I read the first book, is fantastic! I called Mysti "deliciously evil in a good way" and the same holds true for Lindsey. Their combined imaginations and talents have created a world, hierarchy, and characters you yearn to read about more with each passing chapter! I adore these women for giving these characters to us! There was not a single boring section of this series with each book getting better and better! Thank you ladies, looking forward to more!!

In conclusion...buy the series, read, enjoy, leave reviews and show these chicks the love!! They are " 5 pointed stars " and deserve nothing less!!

FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Holy hell! This dynamic duo is kicking ass in this phenomenal, jaw dropping, sensational, mind blowing, block busting installment, taking names and marking off contenders, blasting this baby into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, throwing it into a tailspin with such an explosive culmination. Highlighting impressive scenario's, that punch dead center, ramping up the zeal and delight with such intensity and precision, fusing this bad boy together piece by piece. Bracing for all the drama, intrigue, danger and soaring suspense while tension spirals, blasting this jewel to life spectacularly. Traversing the trials and tribulations, sharp twists, sleek turns and thin lines, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The characters are original and realistic with qualities and depth that blend and balance transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it's easy to envision each detail as they play off one another perfectly. Awesome job guys, thanks for sharing this jewel with us.

“It’s time, Wren.” I took her face in my hands. “End this.”

I'm going to have to staple my tongue, to not give away any spoilers, but I'm going to reveal one - NO CLIFFHANGER! YAY! That's it... Could it get any more exciting, though? Queen against Queen, with an even playing field. Or, is it? Authors Mysti Parker and Lindsey R. Loucks present a seamless collaboration, with the Sever The Crown series, and the finale, "Ascension," is a wonderful conclusion. You'll be breathless, (for all the good reasons,) as Wren and her mates help to deliver this series to it's stunning conclusion. Twists, turns, surprises, breathless anticipation, thrills, suspense, charged emotions, passion, and romance. A thrilling finale for Parker and Loucks! I received this book as an ARC from Mysti Parker, and I volunteered this review

Wrens 5th & finale mate is exactly who I was hoping it would be but also very surprising! This amazing writing duo closed this series out with a bang! I absolutely loved every minute of it and am sad that it’s over.

Wrens love for each of her mates is amazing and there strength & acceptance of each other could be some great life lessons for everyone. Wrens fight with her aunt takes the cake and in true Ravana fashion she try’s to cheat to keep her crown.

I highly recommend this entire series it will keep you in suspense as to what’s going to happen next & keep you turning those pages for more!! Grab this final installment today to see how their journey ends you won’t regret it!!!

I received an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Whoa dogie!! What an action packed finale! I think remembering to breathe is a good thing. Got a new evil entity introduced, related to one of her mates. With respect to her mother, all was not what she had believed. So some shockers there. Annnd, she found her fifth mate. You almost expected it would go that way. There were many kicking confrontations with her aunt and her familiars. Great end! This was, I don’t know... interesting or enjoyable? Enraptured would be good.

Oh I absolutely loved this.
It just makes me sad that this is the end of the series as I have loved reading all of them.
But I am glad Wren gets what she has been fighting for and the ending is just WOW!
Please do start at the beginning and read the whole series and you will enjoy it as much as I did.
These two writers work well together and I will be following both of the them closely.

I received and an advanced review copy and am leaving an unbiased opinion.
Awesome series.

Annnnnddd.. it's done! What a ride! This series was a brilliant read, and this final book had everything a great story needs - drama, romance, suspense, other bits that I cannot mention (spoiler alerts!) and a fantastic ending.
I stand by my belief that this *may* not necessarily be the last we hear of Wren and her mates. There are enough intriguing characters in this series to warrant a spin off - or three!

If I dare say it; a very satisfying climax to the series…I think Charles would be proud of that one! So much happened in this last book, and it was very difficult putting it down because I absolutely had to know what was going to happen next. As mentioned on previous books in this series, I would only recommend for a more mature audience due to the adult nature of some of the scenes.

I liked the story and I liked most of thecharacters in this series. It was intriguing until the end and this is a good ending for the series. It’s not necessarily something to re-read again and again, but I enjoyed it a lot.

What an incredible ending to a series!! I sometimes get upset by how some authors decide to end their series, but I'm perfectly happy with how Mysti Parker and Lindsey Loucks ended this one. I feel that they wrote wonderfully together and had a well thought out story from the first to the last page. The 5th and final book has everything you'd ever want: anticipation, fighting, discovered secrets, romance, and magic! It will definitely keep you on your feet as you follow Wren in her fight to take back the crown from the evil Ravana. Here's to ruling through love!

Absolutely fascinating book 5. Who would think it possible that it could get better. Queen against Queen, who will come out the victor. I can’t wait for another book to come out. Don’t miss out once it’s released.

Mysti Parker and Lindsey R. Loucks knocked this series out of the park. We learn more shocking twists about Zac and Wrens mother. Wren, Ashe, Charles, Marlowe, Hawke, and surprisingly Zac all face off against her auntie and her mates. Do Wren and her Harem get their HEA by severing the crown, or does Ravana one up Wren and her harem.

Ascension truly brings a great conclusion to Mysti Parker and Lindsey Loucks' Sever the Crown Series! Throughout the books Wren and her mates have faced many challenges, but never the likes of those presented in book 5. Just as Wren's tattoo represents a five-pointed star--a lover, a joker, a thinker, a killer, a thriller; thus does strength, determination, planning, skill, and true grit hopefully ensure the survival of our heroes. No more games. No more planning. War has been declared. When all is said and done, whose head will roll and who will wear the crown?

The storyline is fast-paced and well-written, filled with vampires, magic, danger, intrigue and romance. The characters are each well-developed and individually engaging. I really enjoyed the individual personalities of Wren and her mates, yet appreciated their group dynamics. Overall, this was a very enjoyable series, and I hope to read more from these two authors!

The last book in the series. Everything is coming to a blow. Wren has decided that she is not going tonjust blow Zac off in the wind considering the harm they have caused each other. She is going to risk life and limb to save him one way or another.

They get him back and now she has to teach him the way. It's funny Zach knew how to do the change but it might have helped if he would have stuck around to see the finished product. I know that Wren felt like a total ass when she lost a member to his thirst because she was not prepared.

It's ironic how we have this idealistic dream about our parents because we do not know better. We only see the finished product so to speak and not the trials abd errors they had ro go through prior to us. Then when the truth hits us we start freaking out because of the vast difference. I know Wren was kind of messed up in the head trying to figure out who her mother really was vs what she knew at 8 when she lost her.

The ending of this book was epic. Disaster got exactly what he drserved considering all the drama and bull💩 he put other through and enjoyed it.

The delivery of the baby 👶 had me cracking up laughing so hard I almost fell out of chair at home. Who would have ever though Charlie was such a wimp. Zac was truly moved and felt accepted and everyone took their rightful places.

2.5

I was really glad to see the fifth mate came about as I thought he would (and was who I thought). But I was so ready for this series to be finished by the time I reached the end. I felt like it just went on for too long. All five mates were sweet, but having 5 men to satisfy got repetitive. Especially since this is medium-burn (that's a quote from the blurb), so most of the sex was somewhat abortive and didn't vary far from the most basic.

Then there was the final showdown with the villains. They're literally caricatures. I mean every time the evil mates entered a scene they came in quoting ridiculous lines, even. There is no feeling of the rest of the vampire clan(s) (or humanity, for that matter). It all felt very surface level.

I know I've just been complaining. That's my frustration coming through. But I did read five books without DNFing any of them, so I obviously didn't hate it. The writing is still perfectly readable and I did like the characters, etc.

Meh...

I was rooting for this book but it's very mid at best and the series did not meet to be over 5 books - I'd say there at best.

Okay so my issue is that the FMC is supposed to be so strong and smart but is constantly being beat, hurt and is so behind the ball the entire time it's crazy. Their "win" at the end didn't make sense especially since the villains are supposed to be incompetent but apparently think three steps ahead.

I can't believe it's over! 😭 I love Wren and all her mates! I figured Zac would become one since her 5th had died in the last book. Also he was there for her in the beginning even though he wanted her dead for the death of his wife. But it turned out good for her and her harem. I love it! Loved the action, the mystery, the sexy guys. And wow that ending! Absolutely phenomenal! Truly worth it! Like I said I can't believe it's over.

Fun series, happy ending

I enjoyed this series. It wasn't really anything special, but it was well written and fun. I got a bit tired of the constant battles and sex scenes toward the end. Both types of action started to lose power as they were overused. But it was a fun series and I'll check out other books by these authors.

HEA ❤️

More of a 3.5.........This was a good conclusion to a good series. There was consistent action and more character growth than book 4. They fought hard and managed to pull it off in the end with the help of some friends. Wouldn’t mind seeing a spin-off about Angelo or Eleanor. The epilogue was sweet and well earned. All in all this was a good series worth reading.

Ascension, the fifth (and final?) book of the Sever the Crown series, is a book I picked up through Kindle Unlimited. Perfect ending for this series. The authors did a great job with the build-up to the final battle, with a couple surprises thrown in along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the series-- Great job.
