Mary is dumped by a professional hockey player, Dominic. Her roommate, and Dominic's twin brother, Sven, comforts her in her time of heartbrokenness. He also offers to help her get a "revenge body" by giving her personal training, during which, things get hot between them.

Yeah so, on the surface the plot wasn't completely horrible in the premise. I could have gotten behind the good twin prevailing on the evil twin and overlooked Mary switching brothers. However, I had two main problems with the writing. 1) Mary's inner dialogue during the first 24 hours of Sven comforting her post-breakup was excruciatingly repetitive and whiny AND it went on too long. 2) The timeline in the book gets all out of whack. I'm not talking about jumping between flashforwards and flashbacks. The actual days just don't add up and it is a pet peeve of mine. One minute she is dressing for her first work out with Sven, the next the author is describing how for her later workouts, she eventually chooses to wear skimpy clothes to provoke Sven - making it seem like at least a month has gone by, only to then admit it is only Day 2. There are days and nights that pass with phone calls to her family, etc. but evidently the entire book happens within a week's time. The timeline just doesn't add up and it drove me crazy. I know, I know, it such a stupid thing and perhaps I am in a nitpicky mood, but it bugged me and threw off my entire enjoyment of the story.

Oh dear Santa Claus, this was bad. Perhaps one cannot ruin Christmas but it's perfectly possible to ruin a story.

I know this is a novella and things won't be as well-developed (at least most of the time) as in the full-length story but this was just all over the place.

After getting dumped by her hockey boyfriend, Sebastian, who got picked up to play for a team in a different city, Mary stars training with her roommate, AND Sebastian's brother, Sven, to get a "revenge body". I guess there are issues with this premise alone but if written well, it could've been cute. Unfortunately - it simply wasn't.

Sebastian was basically a giant fly on the wall of Sven and Mary's possible relationship, a very noisy annoying one that you can't get rid of. Both characters kept verbally affirm each other that their motivations aren't fueled by Sebastian in any way and yet, he kept coming up in almost every single conversation, even sex-related ones *rolls eyes*

Also, the whole "good twin - bad twin" routine is soooo boring and lazy *sigh*

I'll read the other two books but I just hope they're at least a little better.

Eh, no idea why I am in the Christmas spirit again.. but went for it.

You Can't Ruin Christmas..might've ruined Christmas for me. Okay, I am being a bit dramatic over this. It's just.. the previous Christmas'y series I read was so cute and adorable. This one just annoyed me endlessly. I honestly didn't really care for the two main characters - Mary and Sven. They easily annoyed me - constantly.

She was broken up by Sven's twin brother. Then while a little cuddle sesh, where she thinks she 'could" get used to this, he says he will help her get a revenge body. Ugh, the whole body image thing was my first annoyance. Then the whole being turned on while training was just weird. First off, the gym smells - especially when smelly people are working out. Second, I don't know what else to say after my smelly gym rant.

Other than that, things just weren't adding up correctly to my brain. I don't really know how to explain it but it just seemed weird. In the end, it was meh and I probably wont dive into the rest of the series.

This is a really short story that could have been funny and cute, but in the end was simply shallow. I mean, sometimes it's what you're looking for, but in this case, things were way too simple to be interesting. It's like the structure is there, but that's it. You don't get any kind of development and the reasoning is always the most obvious one. I liked the idea of Snowflake Creek but I think Mary moves on from Sebastian way too fast, especially because suddenly she is in love with his twin brother. And this book also have some problems with body positivity and that bothered me a bit.

Fun, lighthearted romance perfect for the holiday season. Mary had me cracking up several times through this book. You learn the sense of humor tends to run in her family. At first, Mary's relationship with Sven seemed taboo, but later I found myself rooting for them as a couple. Just the read I wanted for the holidays. There are seven books in this series. Luckily, I see all seven in the U.S. KU. I plan to read them all.

Cute and sexy, Christmas-themed, contemporary romance

Mary spent most of her twenties in a relationship with a hockey player who just made it to the NHL. Though she spent all those years supporting his aspirations, he has dumped her without a second thought, and she is heartbroken.

Mary had been rooming with both her boyfriend and his twin brother, Sven. The twins immigrated to the United States years ago from Sweden in order to play hockey. Unfortunately, Sven sustained an injury during the past year that has made him believe that he may not be able to continue with his own hockey dreams. He has instead become a ripped personal trainer to the stars here where they live in Los Angeles.

As Sven comforts Mary, they are both aware that his brother has betrayed him as well, because Sven dedicated enormous time and energy to being a personal trainer for his brother and helping him improve his game, and his brother has abandoned Sven as well. In order to help Mary recover from her pain, Sven offers her free weight training, to give her a strong, firm, "revenge body." Mary is an actress, currently primarily specializing in voice work as a narrator for audiobooks. However, she would love to get more live parts, and a gorgeous figure is a stock in trade for an actress.

As Mary and Sven spend more and more time together, the relationship heats up and sexy times ensue.

The main thing I enjoyed about this book is Sven. He's a terrific romantic hero, strong, affectionate and compassionate, as well as being the expected terrifically talented lover. I have almost never seen a romance hero who is Swedish, so that was interesting as well. Mary was a little less enjoyable but improved over the course of the novel.

This is also a Christmas themed novel, making it a fun read during the holidays.

I rate this book as follows:
Heroine: 3 stars
Hero: 5 stars
Romance plot: 4 stars
Writing: 4 stars
Overall: 4 stars

I feel really bad, but, in my opinion, this story was just very poorly done.
I couldn’t even make it through what 80 pages?

The concept was okay and the Hero was decent. The heroine was awful; as were her sisters.

Most importantly I couldn’t get past the writing, just no.
In the end, everything was just a no from me.

Avoid, save your time.

My head and brain hurts from this story. I have few positive words. I will say Mary's hometown seemed adorable.

Probably the fastest instalove I've seen in a while with switching sibling romances. Everthing was super surf level with little to give feedback on.

I’ve never read this author before but this book came up as a recommendation and I really liked it. Was a cute Christmas story with a lot of heart and finding oneself. There was heartbreak and new love found. Will definitely read the rest of the series.

This was a quick read.

Mary Frost and Sven Anderrson are housemates, although they've never really spent time alone together. When he comforts her in the aftermath of her breakup from his twin brother, and subsequently becomes her personal trainer, she starts to see a different side to him. Not to mention the spark of attraction between them.

This was an OK read. Mary's relationship with Sven's brother was already dead in the water by the time they officially break up. Although, it does feel like she just moved from one brother to the other, considering how serious she felt about Sebastian. I loved Sven - I thought he was gorgeous, sweet and honest. I liked Mary's relationship with her family members and her conversation with her sister, Eve, was funny. I think this novella could probably have benefited from being a longer novel for a bit more plot development to make the relationship between Mary and Sven more credible. I enjoy insta-love stories but I think the fact that she was moving on from such a recent relationship, with the twin brother no less, made a bit harder to swallow.

❄️ Snowflake Creek Series – Book 1 ❄️ Mary’s holiday season starts off rough—dumped by her hockey-playing ex and drowning her sorrows in carbs. Enter Sven, the ex’s twin brother and a fitness coach, who proposes a revenge plan: train Mary into a head-turning transformation that will leave her ex full of regret.

🔥 What follows? Plenty of heat, innuendo, and smoldering looks. Since it’s a novella, I wasn’t expecting a deep storyline, but honestly, it felt a bit rushed and some of the dialogue didn’t quite land for me.

That said, I’ll keep going with the series—these short reads are perfect for my current mood when I’m not looking for anything heavy. If you’re after something light, quick, and festive, this one fits the bill.

I found this to be a cute romance with likable characters. Mary and Sven made an adorable couple as they began to finally get to know each other. I confess my favorite couple in the story is Mary's parents who live in Snowflake Creek, MN. They were so cute together and so sneaky to get their children home for the holidays. A short fluffy read for an afternoon.

Obviously... You can...

“That’s way worse than how Seb treated me. Didn’t you spend a ton of time coaching him and being his personal trainer, before he got that contract?” “Yes,” Sven says with a sad smile. “Every waking minute. He used me, just like he used you. I saw how you took care of him, cooked healthy meals for him, covered his half of the rent so he didn’t have to work and could focus on practice. You should just burn all his stuff, Mary. We should have a huge bonfire.”

ושניה אחרי לעבור לאח שלו...

Just a drunken, feverish, sugar-induced dream. It would be easier to believe in Santa Claus than someone being this nice to me. Is Sven even real? Or is he a guardian angel, sent down to save me from diabetes and give me buns of steel? I only know one thing for certain: sitting on Santa’s lap never felt this good.

כאלו... תנו לה רגעעע להתמודד עם זה שהדוש זרק אותה

“Sebastian dumped me,” I finally tell him. “Over text.” “What the hell?” Sven responds, seeming genuinely shocked. “After all these years?” “I thought you would already know. I thought you guys were close.”

כי זה קרה עכשיו 🙄

אבל לא .. הבחורה שאת שמה אני אפילו לא רוצה לחפש.. רוצה להשאיר הכל במשפחה אחת

Although I really hope he does, because I almost don’t know how I can imagine the rest of my life without having him close to me like that again. It’s funny how things can change so quickly—I had never even really thought about Sven that way.

Being in a country full of festival we get adopted and used to it but for people for home festivals come a few number of times they have no intention to waste them at any cost. Christmas is a long one of the popular festival celebrated around the world. 'You can't ruin Christmas' by Olivia Noble is one such amazing book revolving around the same conversation.
Marry one of the lead character is fed up with the frequently occuring set backs and concerned conversations with his boyfriend. The book is all about gym and taking revenge from the ex and all the incidents taking place in the month of December. Purpose of author is mentioned to bring some warmth in the cold December. I am myself not either a short story reader or any kind of cheesy romantic reader but this book got my side and attention as well. The way author has narrated the whole story in a short and clumsy way is really appreciable. I found the plots convincing, interesting and eye catching. Vocabulary was quite decent and is a a perfect vacation rate. The cover picture and the title reveals a lot about the book itself. It is a must read if you are looking for some short good read.

“You haven’t wasted any years,” he says against my hair. “You’ve lived and loved, and that’s the best any of us can hope to do. Don’t worry, Mary. You’re going to have a wonderful life. Just like the movie.”

Mary was an affectionate girlfriend who has supported her love, Sebastian, throughout his hockey dreams, but only to get ignored by him as soon as he shot into fame. Got dumped right before the Christmas holidays, she was shattered and heartbroken. However, destiny wasn't so cruel towards her as she could find a shoulder to rely upon - Sebastian’s twin brother Sven, who decides to be her personal trainer.

It is a crisp, sweet read with just 80 pages. The story revolves around Mary and Sven, both of them are well defined and developed. However, it's Sven, who stole the show. Some intense scenes have been included in addition to the amazing chemistry between the lead pair.

As it is a short read, don't expect any jaw-dropping twists or long dramas. But it has a proper-paced plot and would be a good pick for the Christmas season.

You can't ruin Christmas : snowflake creek by Olivia Noble is elegant and fascinating browse with divisions portraying vastly charismatic benevolent sentiment humour..

It's a touching blueprint and distinct theme by founder..

The protagonist of the tale Mary , one of the three sisters is not delighted because she's presently exhausted of amassing confronted countless fuzzes..

She is tossed out by her sweetheart barely before Christmas but she is rigid sufficient not to wreck her beloved festival Christmas..

This publication is Holiday founded fiction and this one encouraged the intention of timepass with believe of nostalgic and benevolent enthusiasms..

Manuscript technique is clenching the lid and crown of the anecdote is excellent according to the tale..

Narration strategies giving rise to it a chef-d'oeuvre.. Terminology borrowed is luminous and susceptible to snatch by any generation..

Book - You Can't Ruin Christmas

Author - Olivia Noble

This was such a cute, entertaining and sweet read with just 80 pages.
The book is divided into 13 chapters, every chapter was unique and interesting.
The book revolves around the story of Mary who gets dumped by her boyfriend Sebastian and is helped by his twin brother to get her revenge against him. She doesn't tell her family though that she was broken up.
After breakup she starts developing feelings for his twin brother Sven.

What happened next....?
A very romantic, revenge and cute story.
The language is simple and easy to understand. The cover looks attractive. The writing style was also good. The narration is mind-blowing, I really appreciate the author for this wonderful book. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

The book ends at 63% the rest is the first 6 or so chapters of the next in the series. So frustrating. I liked it but won't be getting any of the others as this was really way shorter than advertised

🌸Once I read that....

"No matter how long it takes, true love is always worth the wait."

Well, this book proves it right!

So, would you like to read a book full of action, adventure, romance, and breathtaking suspense?

Or, are you a fan of "Midnight Sun", "He's All That like me", looking for an awesome read?

If yes, then this book is for You.

So, let's see.....

📕What's it about?

The story starts with Mary, a young girl with lots of dreams and ambitions. She's trying to figure out her life while working as a freelance voice artist.

But on the other hand her fiance, Sebastian has already sorted out everything.

As he got signed by a big hockey team. And becomes a shining sensation. It's like the dream come true for these two.

No...Only for Sebastian.

Cause, after getting this big opportunity, he changes completely. Success rules over his mind.

And the guy who used to be kind, caring suddenly becomes an arrogant piece of trash.

So, as expected he breaks up with our Mary, leaving her in a messed up state of mind. She thinks that it's the end.

But As They Say, Destiny Is Our Best Friend....

So, it's the winters now and Mary's still in shock taking help of her only buddy-- "Food".

And here comes Sven, her roommate plus (Sebastian's twin brother.)

Marry shares everything with him and being totally opposite of his bro, Sven tries to understand the whole matter.

He makes her realize that it's all okay and Seb. is behaving like this with everyone, even with their mother.

Now, after hanging out for some time they both feel very connected. And, day by day their bond keeps growing.

She tells him about her family's Christmas tradition her sisters and he opens his heart out as well :)

Plus, to help Mary, Sven gives her free fitness training sessions. During which the spark of love ignites b/w them.

He is kinda the dream guy, who literally makes her feel alive again.

And as things just started getting good....Mary suddenly gets a phone call informing her father is losing memory, and her mother is having bp issues.

They seem to be on the verge of their last days and want to meet Sebastian this Christmas.

Oh! F*** she didn't tell them about her breakup.

But what will she do now?

They are in such a fragile state, Mary has to find a way out.

On the other hand, Sebastian gets to know about Sven and Mary's relation as well.

And oh no!.... Sebastian is in her parents' garden, Mary is nervous, her father is finding his shotgun....boom!!

Things are getting intense guys.

Read this book to know what happens next :)

🔷What I liked the most?

1️⃣. The concept of this book is amazing.

With surprising twists and awesome teachings, this book exceeded all my expectations. I just love it.

2️⃣. The writing style is pretty interesting.

Especially the parts where:- Mary's feelings, Sven's dreams, and the importance of family are discussed.

💫However at some points it lacked the overall magic. Like:-

•The small time gap between Mary's breakup and her attachment to Sven.

•The quick romantic scenes

•The fast-paced ending, etc.

Honestly, all these need a little bit of editing and this book can do wonders.

3️⃣. Now the best thing, the USP is....the lessons it shares. They are in almost every aspect of our lives and really helpful.

💥So, if you are looking for an excellent love story or something very cool to read.

Then, go with this one. I am sure you will love it.

Cheers!!

🌠My rating:- 4/5

DNF @ 5% 🙃

This sounded cute. I was intrigued. And even though I'm wary of new authors I was willing to give this a shot because like I said it sounded cute.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, first of all it's in first person narrative. Which, I'll admit isn't my fave but tolerable when done right.

Secondly, the FMC Mary describes the MMC Sven's scent like this: "He smells like candy-cane sprinkled marshmallows sitting on top of hot cocoa, gently melting."

This didn't work for me. It even made me outright laugh and facepalm tbh. The MMC Sven just arrived home to the loft they share. He came from THE GYM. No, I doubt he smells like that dumbass.

This was ESPECIALLY dumb because it's a Christmas themed plot, the FMC was quite literally sobbing on the couch watching her favorite Christmas movie and eating peppermint bark ice cream. So, all I see is the author trying oh so hard to sprinkle more Christmas themed crap on top when it was completely unecessary and frankly ridiculous. No one smells like that, especially fresh from the gym even if he showered.

And then there's having her as a roommate with the MMC Sven who is the twin brother, but like, not identical, to her now ex-boyfriend Sebastian. How in the world did that work? I'd imagine, especially in romancelandia that ain't no way the boyfriend would want his serious girlfriend shacking up with his brother! It just felt weird AF even though they had two other roommates who apparently traveled a lot and were rarely around. 🙄

But anyway, third of all was when I lost complete respect for the FMC Mary.

Why you ask? I'll tell ya. So, the FMC Mary makes a big deal of the fact the MMC Sven is sitting next to her on the couch and how it's, like, never happened before in all the time they've been roommates. And then goes on to say this...

"Sven has always seemed like the strong, silent type. We haven’t had many conversations—mostly because of how busy we both are, and how rarely we have hung out. But partially because I assumed that no one with that much muscle could have any room in his body for brains. His body fat percentage seemed too low. And brains are made of fat.

Perhaps I was wrong."

Who the fuck says this? Honestly. I was so offended on behalf of the MMC Sven that I absolutely did not want to see him try and win her heart. Sir, you can do better! 👏👏👏

The descriptions were juvenile at best. The dialogue between the MCs was nauseatingly sweet, lacking originality and felt like a teenager wrote this based IN high school. And honestly, everytime the FMC Mary describes the MMC Sven's body it was so incredibly insulting! Like, she was in awe but also low-key throws shade at him for being so muscular! WTF? Not cool.

So, with that I tapped out. ✌️
