A warm fuzzy December Holiday story

Tristan wants to make as many crochet items as possible for the upcoming LGTB holiday fair.
One tiny problem to overcome... he can’t crochet. Luckily there is a class where he can learn.
Now he has to concentrate hard on this job because Charlie, the teacher, is a distraction. He can’t keep his eyes off him. It seems Charlie feels the same, only he can’t get involved with a student. Class member Ivy is the hero here with her witty comments.

A lovely story with all the right holiday feelings, with two adorable guys, family, sweet friends, a holiday fair, even some hard moments and a lot of crochet.
The whole story was smoothly written, it took place in warm and friendly environments and Christmas atmosphere. With all the feelings and just enough developed to get involved and to make it a full filled story.

This story is just adorable. It has all the elements for a warm and fluffy Christmas story and the author delivered the fuzzy love very well. Tristan and Charlie have a super sweet homespun meet-cute and their banter was enough to feel the chemistry between them as they spent more time together. Tristan’s good intentions to the LGBTQ center he volunteers with have him overextended and needing Charlie’s help to meet his goal to provide handmade crocheted treasures for the holiday craft sale. So, already you know he’s a good guy. Charlie is also a good guy and so I couldn’t help but want to read about them getting their happy on.

There was some outside drama that provided the bit of bitter with all the sweet and the secondary characters kept Charlie in line when he veered off track in a moment of stupidity. Instead of being annoyed by the stupid, it actually made Charlie seem a bit more real because people do dumb things when they are falling in love and he redeemed himself quickly and in the end heroically.

This sweet little Christmas romance was bopping along and then Charlie got weird after crushing on Tristen when Tristen asked him out. And that took some of the shine off the story but quick nice read overall.

Tristan, of ‘Crochet My Heart’ by Carol Pedroso, promises to crochet several items for a charity Christmas craft sale, but when he tries to make the items, he realizes that watching his grandmother crochet and having to do it himself are two different things. He is frustrated but not ready to give up. After several failed attempts, he calls his sister who, after teasing him, puts Tristan in touch with Charlie, who teaches a class on crocheting.

Charlie is waiting for students to show up for his first crochet class but is getting more frustrated all the time because it doesn’t look like anyone is going to show up. He is about to admit defeat and leave when a handsome young man, Tristan, walks in. Tristan apologizes for being late and relates the story about his decorations dilemma he is in and Charlie reassures him that he can help. Fortunately a few other students show up as well. The ladies in the group notice that Tristan and Charlie are dancing around each other and that Charlie rushes to help Tristan every time he shows even the littlest bit of stress.

Tristan wants to ask Charlie out but he hesitates because he isn’t sure Charlie feels the same way he does. Finally, Tristan decides that he can’t wait any longer. He asks Charlie to go out with him. Instead of graciously accepting his offer, Charlie comes up with excuses as to why dating him would be a bad idea. Tristan is disheartened and angry and leaves in a huff.

I truly enjoyed this story. By necessity, since it is a short story, it includes some insta-love, but even with that element, the characters and the plot were well developed. There is a lot of action and emotion packed into these forty-two pages, making for a delightful holiday story. Thanks, Carol, for giving Tristan and Charlie their well-deserved happy ending.

This novella had a cute premise, but it felt very rushed- like it had a couple hundred pages' worth of events to squeeze into a very short novella that just didn't have the strength to carry that weight.

Which, ordinarily, isn't much of an issue, but this time, I feel like that jam-packed schedule was to its detriment. With the breakneck pace , various characters showing up and getting names without it being relevant to the already straining plot, and conflicts that would ordinarily take at least a chapter being resolved within paragraphs, I found myself growing uninvested in the events rather quickly.

This author has talent, but this story reads like a very first draft of a novel. If this is the type of story she wants to tell, I'd suggest either venturing into a longer format that would let the plot breathe (it would be very easy to stretch this exact sequence of events out to around 250 pages, truly), or hiring an editor who would help prune the story into a shape that better fits the space given.

I have mixed up 2 stories about crochet, so I have changed the rating and review once I've realized my mistake.

A sweet story about Tristan who goes extra step to help others by taking up crocheting he is unfamiliar with and falls in love with Charlie a gun-shy crochet teacher who is afraid to get his heart trampled on again.

Oh my gosh I loved this one. This was a very well written short story and felt like a full story. I loved both characters, all of the secondary characters. The elderly lady in the crochet group was a hoot. Not only is this a fun, sweet romance then we get a big twist and some suspense. Of course, add in some holiday magic and a lovely HEA.

Christmas cheer

I love to crochet and make stuff. Unfortunately I lack skill. In this book we have a teacher of crocheting and a student. The fall in love making items for a craft show. I loved Charlie and Tristan.
