Road Trip with a Nerd

Rate this book
Sitting at a hotel in Utah after her last high school trip was not where Mallory wanted to be when she got the text that changed everything. She'd been betrayed by two people she cared about and she was stuck fifteen hundred miles away.

Until he walked in. Grant Baker. The biggest nerd in her graduating class. And potentially her only option to get home sooner than the plane ticket scheduled for two weeks away.

Desperate times call for desperate measures in this sweet tale of two people who soon realize they aren't as different as they first thought.

I don’t think Grant was really a nerd! He was just smart and into developing

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2020...

***Spoilers... but not that many**

I think that Mallory needed that road trip to learn how to remove herself from toxic people. She also got to learn not to be spoiled and what’s the other word. I can’t think of it. But she learned not to be judgemental towards Grant since he had an old “farm truck” as she stated.

I think that made her a better person, but not only that, she got to know Grant. He also got the girl of his dreams. His crush! I was glad when Mallory figured out she didn’t need Trent to wait what that fool name that cheated on her with her ex-best friend Livvy... hmmm was? 🤔... heck, I can’t even remember. Don’t care to... 🤣... because he wasn’t good for her anyways.... and didn’t deserve her love... sense he wanted Livvy since he and Mallory been dating and Livvy wanted him way before Mallory dated him...

At least she ended up with Grant! He even listens to her, whereas her ex-boyfriend didn’t. Also, I was glad that his family accepted what he wanted and even her parents. I think a developer is a good job!!!!!

Sweet, funny, YA novella

I enjoyed it, but it took some serious overlooking of questions to believe the situations the main characters found themselves in. Clean, but lots of longing and young adult hormones active. The end felt very rushed. This could have been a full novel, but it just didn't get that full-length novel depth that i prefer.
And there was a major editing mistake, about 87% through the story a whole 2 paragraphs that were obviously rewritten were still in the final copy. Not a huge deal for the story, but it was a glaring editing error.

i just- wow.

Mallory and Grants story is perfect. from the way it was written to the story you can see projected in your head. This book is perfect. Short and sweet but something i will never forget.
In the beginning, I couldn’t help but hate mallory because she acted like, well a brat. But a whole different side of her game out after she noticed Grant. I don’t mean see him, but actually SEE him. No spoilers here but I will hold a grudge of you don’t read this book. I might just read it again honestly...

Loved loved loved

Hilarious and so sweet!! Love it! Stephanie knicker it out of the park again! I’ve made that drive before, too, with a boy I loved in an old truck, twenty years ago on our honeymoon, so maybe I just really connected with parts of it, but it was a great, short read!!

Predictable but charming

Road trip with a nerd was a charming YA romance. Mallory is the popular girl, Grant is the nerd. However they are about to find out how very much they have in common. Finished this one in less than a day and will certainly check out others by Stephanie Street.

Quick and somewhat sugary read. Mallory has just graduated high school and needs to get home to confront her boyfriend who has been cheating on her. Grant is the nerd who agrees to drive a Mallory home. Grant’s character isn’t a super nerd. He’s more the quiet, smart guy who doesn’t really fit in. Cute enough read with pretty believable coming of age themes.

Love it

O loved this book. It was even better than I thought it would be. I did think Grant was an idiot. How did he expect her to tell him anything when she couldn't find him. The only thing that really bothered me though was he gave her napkins to use but no wipes for after and I kept thinking somebody use a wipe😂

Okay so while this took me forever to finish (thank you, college and working retail the entire month of December), I absolutely loved every second of this! It’s just what I needed to get me back into a reading mood, and I can’t wait to check out more by this author. Also, if anyone was wondering, I want a Grant Baker in my life 😍

I really loved this book from start to finish! Mallory was not my favorite person in the beginning. I thought she seemed rude and ungrateful so it was so great seeing her attitude change. Grant was simply amazing! Loved him right away! Such a great story!! I received an advanced copy and chose to leave a review.

Well, it's a bit hard to tell what I feel about this novella. I loved Grant, cute, caring and nerdy. But Mallory wasn't a likeable character for me, she was too judgy, always complainning and not so understanding.

It's a short, easy read with plenty going on for a novella mostly set in a car.

[1.25 star] short and simple story, nothing to rave about. i was expecting the heroine to confront her boyfriend and bff about their betrayal but it wasn't written out sadly.

Such a sweet book. I didn’t even mind that it wasn’t that long and normally that really bugs me.

Short and sweet

”You don’t learn anything if you don’t screw up once in a while. Our mistakes refine us, make us better.”

Road Trip with a Nerd is my first Stephanie Street novel. I happened to find her on Instagram the day she released it and I’m so glad!

This book is short and sweet. I love love Grant. Mallory got on my nerves at times because she was so naive but by the end she was growing on me. I enjoy books where you get to experience a character growing so this was a bonus for me.

”How had I missed this boy? This man? He’d been right in front of me for years, and I never knew it. I never saw him. But not anymore. Right then. Right now. He was all I could see.”

If you need a quick romance I recommend you give this a try.

I can’t believe Mal was oblivious to everything that was going on especially with her best friend with the trifling ass bitch and her cheating scummy skeezy disgusting jackass of a boyfriend oh I’m sorry ex-boyfriend. I love Grant he’s so sweet caring every single thing that Matt wasn’t. I wish there was more of this book because I enjoyed it so much

Short and sweet novel about the value in looking beyond the surface. I enjoyed the story but there was nothing exceptional which is why I only gave it four stars -- still recommend to lovers of clean YA romance.
