Sounds Like Christmas
Grandma is baking Christmas cookies, so she asks Lincoln and Georgia to decorate the tree. And what a tree it becomes! In addition to the lights, garlands and balls the kids compete to add some very special and extremely noisy ornaments, including a talking doll, a chirping bird, the neighbour's dog and more. What will their grandparents -- and Santa -- think?

264 books1,760 followersRobert Munsch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Fordham University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and from Boston University in 1971 with a Master of Arts degree in anthropology.
He studied to become a Jesuit priest, but decided he would rather work with children after jobs at orphanages and daycare centers. In 1973, he received a Master of Education in Child Studies from Tufts University. In 1975 he moved to Canada to work at the preschool at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario. He also taught in the Department of Family Studies at the University of Guelph as a lecturer and as an assistant professor. In Guelph he was encouraged to publish the many stories he made up for the children he worked with.
Munsch's wife delivered two stillborn babies in 1979 and 1980. Out of the tragedy, he produced one of his best-known books, Love You Forever. This book was listed fourth on the 2001 Publishers Weekly All-Time Best selling Children's Books list for paperbacks at 6,970,000 copies (not including the 1,049,000 hardcover copies). The Munsches have since become adoptive parents of Julie, Andrew and Tyya (see them all in Something Good!)
Munsch has obsessive-compulsive disorder and has also suffered from manic depression. In August 2008, Munsch suffered a stroke that affected his ability to speak in normal sentences. He has recovered enough that he is able to perform live, but has put his writing career on hold until he is fully recovered.

What does your Christmas tree sound like?
When Georgia and Lincoln put up their grandparent's tree they add some sound effects. It soon turns into a game of upping the other's contribution until even the neighbor's dog and some special people are hanging on the tree.
What will Santa find when he comes at midnight?
If you are a Robert Munsch fan, you know that his books can be very silly. That's why we love them. This new Christmas title is just what you would expect. What makes it special is the fact that his long-time assistant and her grandchildren are characters in the book.

December 13, 2019In my opinion, his other Christmas book, "Finding Christmas", is the superior of the two and makes a wonderful seasonal read-aloud. But young readers will enjoy the wacky humour and sound effects of his latest picture book.

I wasn't impressed with this story!
It's about 2 grandchildren decorating a tree, but feels the tree needs things that are noisy. The grandparents, toys & a dog are put on the tree & all the usual noises that Munsch is famous for are attached to this.
Much preferred "Finding Christmas".

The Book is exactly as I expected when it comes to Robert Munsch.... It was entertaining and delightful since the kids were cheeky.

Nice and short, could be used as a Christmas Storytime book. Santa nonbelievers and believers alike can laugh at the idea that Santa would give such naughty kids presents.
