He’s got the perfect mate in mind, for five years from now…
The final title in a light-hearted shifter trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Vivian Arend.
Cooper Borealis is fully onboard with the concept of fated mates. Except mating the woman he wants—his tempting, complicated, human secretary—is not an option. Or not yet anyway. Still, he’ll keep the vow he made to his brothers, with a few loophole caveats, mating fever be damned. He’ll be with Amber Myawayan at the place and time of his choosing.
Amber has spent the past two years in the north looking for her missing brother—and falling in love with the big, growly polar bear at the helm of Borealis Gems. More than once, she’s caught him looking at her with hungry shifter eyes. But getting him to admit it? Ha! Luckily, mating fever is a thing, and she’s happy to cooperate as nature forces the issue to the forefront.
But when their mating bond is unexpectedly blocked, Amber and Cooper find themselves in a race against time. She needs to track down her brother while somehow proving she’s tough enough to be with her favourite bear. Cooper plans to protect her at all costs, even if it means secretly stifling his stubborn shifter side.
Somewhere in the wilderness they’ll find the answer…or lose their chance at forever.

In this third, and final, book in the Borealis Bears Trilogy Grandfather Giles turns his attention to his oldest grandson. Cooper already has his mate picked out, he just doesn't think the timing is right to settle down and start a family. Cooper is already courting Amber but in his own, very slow, way because she's a human who only recently found out about the existence of shifters and he's hoping that as she starts to trust him she'll eventually develop stronger feelings. What he doesn't realise is that Amber already wants him and when the two end up stranded together in the wilderness it might just be the push they needed.
I've been really looking forward to Cooper and Amber's story. I've loved all of the brothers but Cooper has always been a bit of a mystery figure but he's one who obviously cares about his family and looks out for his younger brothers. It turns out that both Cooper and his inner bear are very stubborn and although they've both chosen Amber neither of them are keen to start the mating dance any time soon.
Amber has two goals, one is to find her missing brother and the other is to win Cooper's heart. When the chance comes along to achieve the first she's thrilled when Cooper volunteers to join her on her journey into the wilderness. Amber will do whatever it takes to convince Cooper she's ready for the mating but if she doesn't work quickly they may both run out of time.
This was a brilliant end to the trilogy, Grandfather Giles may be a meddling old man but it's been clear from the start that he has his grandson's best interests at heart and it looks like he isn't the only family member who is capable of setting long term plans in motion. It's been great to see all three couples find happiness and I can't help hoping that we may see further books set in this world that give us the chance to catch up with them all a few years down the line.
Nice finish to the series! Loved the setting in the Canadian north, and the polar bear shifter characters. This one is a polar bear shifter/human romance and it was fun to see how Cooper's bear side is a character unto himself, able to communicate telepathically with Amber without Cooper overhearing. The conversations the shifters have with their animal sides are a key highlight in all the books in the series as they make for a lot of laughs. This is a workplace romance as Amber is Cooper's secretary but ethical concerns are light as both Amber and Cooper have been interested in each other for a few years and waiting to make their moves. The plotline of Amber's missing brother and parents that came up in earlier books is resolved so that it's a true happy ending. Lighthearted, family focused, funny and sexy - good escape reading.

This was my favorite from the series. Cooper Borealis is completely ridiculous, but I love how Amber Myawayan smashes down his walls to get what she wants, when she wants, not on Cooper's schedule.
Now was the time for patience and logic and, above all else, to avoid being caught alone with the delectable Amber Myawayan. -- Cooper Borealis
I love all the family and friends shenanigans. They had me laughing aloud on a few occasions. And the truth of how some plans had been put into motion sooner than thought is perfect. Hehehe....
Amber has a mystery to solve, and I like how everyone rallies around her to get to the truth. It ends up being quite the adventure! 🔥😂🐻❄👧🏻🎉
I listened to this as part of 'Borealis Bears: Books 1-3' collection. The narrator is Tatiana Sokolov, who consistently delivers an easy listen.
Awe! This was a nice wrap up to a cute, fun, & sexy series. Cooper & Amanda have been circling in the background and it was great to hear them get their HEA.
I like the way Arend differentiated this couple’s story from the others (I don’t want to say and ruin it). This one also had a little action/adventure element as Amber continues to search for her brother.
As always, lots of funny banter between the characters and their animals.
Narration: Tatiana Sokolov was a lot of fun to listen to. She does a good job with all the voices and emotions. An easy series to binge.
With two of his grandchildren already happy with their mates, now all that was missing was the CEO, Cooper Borealis. But unlike the brothers who had fallen in love with shifters, Cooper was in love with his human secretary, Amber.
Very close to having his Polar Bear mating fever, Cooper did not want to bind Amber in an engagement because of the fever. So, he rented a cabin to chain himself and let the period pass, but as his secretary, Amber found out his plans, and went after him.
During the fever period, the two stayed together. After the fever, Cooper told her that they would stay together, but this time there was a huge obstacle: Cooper's bear didn't accept his choice. That's because for there to be a bond between the couple (and they could talk mentally) the female would have to accept his animal side, and it turned out that Amber was afraid of the bear. And there was still a curse involving the delay in claiming the mate (and about that Cooper would have to deal with in due time.)
While looking for a way to convince his bear that Amber would be their mate, Cooper decided to help her find her brother. Amber and Mason had been raised by foster family, and when their parents' plane crashed, Mason wanted to find out what had happened... and he, too, disappeared. Now, Amber had news of seeing her brother in a shifter domain area, and there was no way to get there by plane. Lara (wolf), Alex's mate, offered to take them there.
With the joy of meeting her brother, Amber also discovered new secrets, and in the meantime, Cooper's bear had to decide what the outcome would be between him and Amber. Would they be together forever? 4 stars
This is the end of the Borealis Bears trilogy. It's no surprise who the final couple will be, but seeing how they get there is part of the fun. In this one Cooper and Amber both like each other, but Cooper has a list of reasons why he has to wait a few more years before he can be with her. These points aren't given; which really would have helped to make sense of this sentiment because as it stands it's a convenient plot device without any solid reasoning. I did think the mystery/missing person aspect of this was a bit weak. It's honestly been years since Amber's parents died and her brother disappeared, she moved to northern Canada to try and find him and has been asking around for him, and it just needed more than it got. It was a cop out solution that didn't make sense and was resolved without a proper conversation. And I thought everyone knew about shifters? But then it turned out to be a big secret, but literally everyone in town saw the bears shifting in previous books when there was an altercation at the bar, so I was a little confused. There were a few parts that didn't make any logical sense, but it had some really fun moments and lots of polar bear cuteness. Cooper's bear's thoughts were pretty great.
It's Cooper's turn to get tangled up in his grandfather's mating machinations and he's...okay with the idea, but not okay with the timing. Cooper has things to do and getting mated isn't on his list. Yet.
Considering he knows exactly who he wants to end up with and with his grandfather's propensity for meddling, I'm sure you can see how Cooper's long-term plan is about to be blown to smithereens. Yup, the guy is going to end up with his human whether he thinks the time is right or not.
Provided his bear stops bear-blocking him, that is.
As for Amber, she's determined on several fronts. She wants to find her brother and she wants to show her bossy bear that the time is right for them as a couple. Being alone in the wilderness gives them both a chance to see how perfect they are for one another.
This is Book 3 in the Borealis Bears series. Cooper is about to go into mating fever and he knows that he’s going to mate Amber but not right now. He has a journal written with all kinds of rules and he’s not ready to mate just yet. No matter what his grandfather wants, this is on his time table and no one else’s! Or so he thinks. His mating bond doesn’t stop for anyone or anything, or does it? Something’s going on with Amber and it’s messing with his bear and the bond. This is one time when the family is going to have to step up and help out! I really enjoyed reading this series. The books are so fun to read. There’s always something happening that keeps you interested in the story. It’s not going to bog you down with unbelievable stuff so you can enjoy it and have a great time with the family. I highly recommend the series to you if you like a fun story.
Well, I read a holiday book even when I didn’t know I was reading one! The book takes place, or ends up, over the Christmas season, so I’m calling it a holiday book. What it really is is a shifter who’s bear side knows what he wants, and the human side who knows what he wants, but needs it to fit with his lists and timetable. Our feisty heroine is done waiting around, so she takes matters into her own hands. This does not guarantee the smooth sailing they both want, once our hero re-does his list, but a few new and different issues neither anticipated. It all works out in the end, and we get our HEA, and a heartwarming look into grandma and grandpa’s love story as well in the epilogue <3
This is the last book and it was great. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings Good dialogues Well developed characters that feels familiar Great storyline
This author makes beautiful stories about families that has unique connections to each other 5 stars

REVIEW: THE BEAR’S FOREVER MATE is the third instalment in Vivian Arend’s contemporary, adult BOREALIS BEARS erotic, paranormal romance series focusing on Borealis polar bear shifter brothers. This is eldest brother Cooper Borealis, and Amber Myawayan’s story line. THE BEAR’S FOREVER MATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
SOME BACKGROUND: Patriarch Giles Borealis is hoping to hand over the reigns of Borealis Gems to his three grandsons but in an effort to help things along, Giles blackmails his heirs into finding mates, or lose control of Borealis Gems. James, Cooper and Alex have no intention of tying themselves down with one woman but the mating fever is about to take control.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Cooper and Amber) THE BEAR’S FOREVER MATE follows Cooper Borealis as he struggles with the approach of the mating fever. Believing Amber Myawayan is his fated mate Cooper wants to wait a few more years before tying himself down to one woman forever but Amber wants nothing to do with waiting for Cooper to make up his mind, and sets about to seduce the man with whom she is in love. The problem, Amber is human, and Cooper’s ‘bear’ struggles with Amber’s intentions, as she continues to search for her missing brother. What ensues is the friends to lover relationship between Amber and Cooper, as the bears and their mates go in search of Amber’s brother, and the potential fall-out as Cooper’s bear stalls in his attempts to make Amber their mate.
The relationship between Cooper and Amber has been building for a long time but Cooper has a five year plan before he settles down with his fated mate. Hiding away in a cabin the woods, Cooper is surprised when the woman in question arrives with plans of her own. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top sexually graphic, language and text.
All of the previous couples return including Alex and Lara, James and Kaylee, Giles and Laureen Borealis, as well as several shifters from various packs, towns, and shifter types.
THE BEAR’S FOREVER MATE is a story of family and friendships; acceptance and love. The premise is engaging, entertaining and fun; the romance is flirty and energetic; the characters are colorful and charismatic.
4.5 stars. This was one twisty and fascinating story, with so much going on in such a short time that one might fear there wasn’t enough filler to build the relationship for Amber and Cooper, but Arend’s skill once again proves she is a mistress of romance for a good reason. Fact is that no one else could have truly done this story the justice it deserved. Amber was the kind of strong and determined woman, with the backbone of steel, heart of gold, and patience of Job that I wish I could be. She is the match that Cooper needs to keep him in line, laughing at the ridiculousness that life can sometimes be, and just mischievous enough to keep their future mated life from being boring. Cooper is one of those people like me with a list for everything in life, one that doesn’t adapt well to change, and that has to think through everything little piece of a decision before he can commit, which is ironic considering he shares his spirit with a wild polar bear. That dichotomy leads to some hilarious internal dialogue between the two and of course some decisions that require Amber to work all the harder to overcome his obstinacy. I loved seeing these two balance one another and find a way to make their lives perfect just by being what the other needed at the most important moments. The heat between them was of course off the charts leading to passionate moments that even melted the snow protecting them at one moment (nope, not a metaphor). I also loved seeing the family togetherness and the ways that Arend shows how two cultures and families can come together to make a whole that is so much greater than the parts combined, reminding me a little bit of her contemporary series that are so family focused. I loved this story for each and every second, and while I, of course, wish it had been longer just to prolong the enjoyment, there wasn’t a single thing lacking from the plot or the romance and I cannot wait to spread the word about this series and this trilogy specifically, not to mention now I can binge reread all three. Another masterpiece Vivian!
This was a quick, fun read and while I’m sad that this is the last in the series, I loved the way everything ended up for the Borealis clan.
Amber is all kinds of awesome. She’s had an interesting life, one filled with ups and downs that have shaped her, but she’s persevered and is living her best life possible. Cooper is all about his family and their company. He’ll do anything for them ~ well, almost ~ but he’s also all about his ‘lists’ obsessively (and kind of irritatingly) so, but his heart is in the right place.
Cooper and Amber’s journey to their HEA was a fun one, especially since Cooper the adorable polar bear puts his paw into the mix. I loved their bantering and how Amber constantly kept Cooper on his toes, while he in turn became even more enamored of the woman. Their bump in the road was an interesting one, but made sense in the context of what a mating is and I really enjoyed how it all worked out in the end.
The Bear’s Forever Mate was a great addition to the series. I loved catching up with Alex, Lara, James and Kaylee and the ever interfering Grandfather Giles and finally getting to spend some quality time Grandmother Laureen. I’m also crossing my toes that we’ll get to spend some time with the wolf shifters ~ especially Dixon ~ and some of the other shifters we got to meet along the way. As for the ending/epilogue...I have to say it was perfect, especially when it comes to the Borealis family.

Cooper Borealis, the last of the unmated Borealis bear shifters is about to go into mating fever. But he's got his timetable written in his journal and he's got his life planned out. He even know who he wants to mate with, and it's a good thing Amber is interested in Cooper too.
But the family and the mating fever have other plans for Cooper and he soon finds that is timeline is null and void. Amber is with him and he needs her. When the mating bond fails to develop, it's Cooper's inner bear that has the answer. Amber has some unresolved issues, and it's going to take the entire family to help her get things on the right path!
I've really enjoyed this series. It's light and fun. Vivian Arend does an amazing job of incorporating the shifters into the human world, and the inner dialogue between man and animal has been the shining star of this series.
If you are looking for a lighter, sexy, low-on-conflict paranormal tale, this one might be for you!
What a great ending to this series. Love gramps and grandma and their meddling ways
Cooper thinks he can hide like he does every year to avoid Amber during mating season but she finds him and is there for him through the week to help him through. He had plans to pursue her in a couple years but fate had other plans. She has been in love with him for awhile and decided now was as good a time as any to act on it. But in order to be mated both Cooper and his bear shifter and Amber have to all be on board. But something is holding back the bear and Amber is still putting in a lot of time looking for her brother. Why is the bear holding back? Will she find her brother and any information about their parents who disappeared in a plane crash?
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This was a great book ! Cooper is all about the getting married, just not now. He even knows who he wants to be mated to. But he has a plan. Amber is tired of waiting for Cooper to make a move. How much longer does she has to wait ? Loved the characters + the storytelling ! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! These Borealis Bears took us on quite an adventure! I can't wait to see what other adventure this author is going to come up with.
It's 2 funny!! He thinks he's all rt with his little lists and time frames on when 2 mate but news flash she has other ideas instead of waiting around. Lol I think his bear is smart Ashe is but I think he was a little worried that he wasn't worthy enough 4 her but she proved him wrong. It's good when u have family that will help any way they can. I don't quite get why they have 2 get punched in the face by the seals lol but it's good that they finally came 2 both sides in the equation with the human side and bear side. It will fun2 c about the possible future of the kids of them all.
I enjoyed Cooper and Amber’s story. Ms. Arend has a way of telling stories about family and this is no different. At first, I wasn’t sure why Cooper was delaying the inevitable mating with Amber but then I understood his hesitation about her being a human and how she would deal with him being a shifter. The search for her brother and family helped in solidifying their lifetime mating. Too bad we won’t be reading more about elder Borealis’ and their meddling.
I love this story and seeing Cooper & Amber get their forever story. Grandfather Giles also gets to see his all his grandsons with their mates with a fun twist. I love this series and hope to see more stories up in the Yukon. Thank you to Vivian Arend for a free copy to review. I was so excited to read this book and it is all I could hope for!
This one was a little better than the other two for me. Part of the reason was that I liked how Amber took control of her future with Cooper and how she interacted with his bear. I loved that the two of them were able to talk and hash things out.
Fabulous conclusion to a great series!! Don't hesitate to grab this book and enjoy Cooper and Amy's adventure to their HEA!! Steamy hot love scenes that you don't want to miss!! Once i started could not put this book down!! I know you will enjoy this shifter love story!!
What a great way to end the series. I loved how Amber got tired of waiting for Cooper to make his move and she did it for him. I wish Vivian's paranormal series had a little more danger or a jealous ex. Just a little something just to shake things up a bit.
A fabulous conclusion the the Borealis Bears, Connor and Amber were great characters and the family is engaging and looking solid moving into the future.
