If you liked the first best-selling book about Vitamin D3 by this author (300,000+ copies sold-translated into 10 languages), You are going to LOVE this one! If the first book got us to the 50-yard line- this book is a slam dunk touchdown! The author describes the miraculous new things he has discovered about Vitamin D3 and its 5 cofactors from an additional 8 years of research added to the extensive research he did for his first groundbreaking book. This book has at least twice the vital information contained in his first book and describes in detail how all autoimmune diseases can now be easily defeated without doctors or drugs. How you can virtually bullet proof your health by correcting the 5 deadly deficiencies of the modern age. And the shocking part about this is that doctors in general have no clue as to what is really making us all sick! This book could literally wipe out 90% of the medical industry if everyone adopts its advice.Bold Claims to be sure! Unbelievable? -Yes! But Overwhelming proof is provided for all the claims!Once you read this book, the blindfold will be lifted, and you might laugh and say...."So Simple! Why didn't I think of that?".In this book, cures for every autoimmune disease known to man are described in detail, including a chapter that relates a number of case studies of people who have cured their Multiple Sclerosis with this protocol. And further describes how 100,000+ people from all around the world have cured their MS using this simple information. But it doesn't stop there, cures for many more disease are described, and examples are provided for asthma, psoriasis, COPD, lupus, myasthenia gravis, eczema, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic hives, depression, etc. etc. and even some cases of cancer! The bottom-line premise is simple; virtually all diseases not caused by old age or genetic mutations are caused by an unfocused immune system. Lazy when it comes to bad actors such as viruses, infectious bacteria and fungi, and newly emerged cancer cells, while being hyperactive when confronted with good tissues that should normally not be attacked. The solution? Simply fine tune your immune system to operate correctly, and all these diseases will be a thing of the past. And it is so easy to do. Why don't doctors know about this? Could it be that it is bad for business or were they just taught incorrect information in med school? Hard to say. Most diseases are caused by advice from doctors concerning a hormone that we all make that the author calls the "ultimate biologic". Doctors' advice keeps us all from producing enough of this hormone to remain healthy. Another large segment of diseases is caused by modern farming practices that deplete soils of essential cofactors to this hormone that leave approximately 80%+ of us deficient. Doctors basically never test for this deficiency and know very little about it! Simple neglect and ignorance on the part of health professionals? Or something more sinister? It is up to you to decide.
The deficiency of VitD, which in many cases is undiagnosed, and other nutrients like Mg, Zn, and VitK, is still a huge problem in clinical medicine. For illness prevention, appropriate supplementation of VitD and its cofactors is of great importance:
- Vitamin D3: RDA of 400iu is too low for optimal health. Between 10,000 and 50,000iu per day might be needed to maintain optimal health. - VitK2 - Magnesium - Zinc - Boron
Vit D3
Vit D is not a vitamin, it’s actually steroid hormone that controls or affects at least 2700 genes. Most of these genes are involved in immune system regulation and tissue remodelling.
Since the 1980s due to doctors skin cancer scares, most people have been avoiding the sun and using sunscreen which prevents vitamin D3 production in the skin. This has led to a rampant epidemic of vitamin D3 deficiency that has created disease and chronic conditions since the 1980s.
Vitamin D in, its version D3, is unlikely to be toxic to the body. The RDA of vitamin D3 is only 400 IU which is outrageously low: the human body sunbathing for 30 minutes will produce around 20,000 IU. There are people who have been taking high doses up to 200,000 IU per day for months without any signs of toxicity.
Vitamin D3 is the master conductor of our immune and remodelling systems at high levels. It tunes up our immune system to be super vigilant and careful. It also prompts the remodelling systems to conduct repairs and replacements of accumulated defective tissues. In the opinion of the author approximately 75% of all diseases are caused by a vitamin D deficiency.
When vitamin D3 levels are too low for optimal health, the immune system cannot see clearly and it might attack good tissues by accident and allow bad actors like viruses or fungi to slide by.
Studies have found that sun avoidance is associated with earlier death.
Vitamin D2 is an inferior plant synthesised version of the hormone vitamin D3 with important chemical differences that make D2 less effective than D3 and having negative side-effects, hypercalcaemia in particular.
With D3 there are exaggerated fears about hypercalcemia. It is true that higher levels of vitamin D3 cost the body to use up Vitamin K2 stores, so it is important to consume magnesium and vitamin K2 when taking high doses of vitamin D3.
Some people respond differently to different doses of vitamin D3: with 20,000 international units per day some people’s blood level can be at 180 ng/ml while other people are at 50 ng/ml, so it is important to take a blood test to monitor, blood levels for D3 and adjust the dose accordingly.
To cure chronic diseases one needs to achieve a blood level of vitamin D3 of 150 ng/ml or higher. The current reference range for normal levels of blood vitamin D3 is between 30 and 100 ng millilitre but this is only the average of the population where there are many deficient people living up north, far away from the equator.
A person who is 70 years old will make 75% less D3 than a 20 year old.
Large doses of vitamin D3 trigger magnesium deficiency so when taking high dose of D3 we are eating up magnesium at a much faster rate than normal.
Magnesium
Normally, an adult’s body has about 24 g of Mg, the majority of which (99%) is found in the bones, muscles, and soft tissues. Extracellular fluids contain only 1% of the body’s total Mg. The serum Mg levels are not a good indicator of the intracellular or whole-body Mg content, since the blood serum contains just 0.3% of the body’s total Mg
The primary nutritional sources of Mg are: whole grains, dark green vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, and seafood.
A deficiency of Mg is associated with headaches, hyperemotionality, generalized anxiety, insomnia, asthenia, depressive states, muscle weakness, numbness and cramps, exacerbations of bronchial asthma, increased risk of stroke, progression of diabetes mellitus and congestive heart failure, worse control of arterial hypertension, higher risk of cardiac arrythmias, alterations in blood lipids and progression of atherosclerosis, severe forms of infectious diseases, long-term COVID-19 syndrome, increased risk of cancers, and many other illnesses.
For normal VitD metabolism and activity, an optimal Mg status is required. It is known that Mg acts as a cofactor in various processes.
Mg deficiency notably influences the VitD levels in people with a high risk of low VitD
Many risk factors can contribute to the development of Mg deficiency, including: * insufficient consumption of Mg-rich foods * consuming a lot of processed food, demineralized water, and insufficient vegetables which, in turn, themselves are low in Mg since are usually grown in soil that is poor in Mg * prolonged fasting * decreased absorption due to heavy alcohol consumption, or inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs); * increased renal loss of Mg, e.g., due to diabetes mellitus, chronic metabolic acidosis
In general, the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of Mg is 310–360 mg for women and 400–420 mg for men. However, for adults, the real Mg intakes in many Western countries seem to be lower than the RDA. Therefore, Mg supplementation is recommended.
Zinc
After iron, Zn is the second most common trace mineral in the body. The body has 2–4 g of Zn, of which approximately 90% is located in the bones and muscles. Only 0.1% of the total Zn is present in plasma.
Oysters, crabs, lobsters, beef, poultry, hard cheese, as well as seeds, nuts, and whole grains are good dietary sources of Zn. There is no true Zn storage system in the human body; i.e., humans cannot store Zn for long. Therefore, a constant dietary intake of Zn is required to maintain normal functions.
Zn is crucial for body growth, development, and functioning. Zn is a part of numerous proteins, over 2500 transcription factors, and over 600 enzymes.
A lot of evidence has showed the antiviral, immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activity of Zn.
Zn deficiency can present with various clinical features: growth retardation, delayed bone maturation and sexual development; hypogonadism and defective spermatogenesis in males; immune dysregulation and increased susceptibility to various infections; vision impairment (e.g., night blindness or photophobia); neural system dysfunction (including depression and anxiety);
Zn is considered an essential cofactor for VitD activity.
The Zn levels can be measured in the whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, and hair. The plasma (or serum) Zn levels, although their testing is accessible in many facilities, do not necessarily represent the body’s total Zn content.
Zn deficiency is common, especially in developing countries; however, it is a potentially underdiagnosed disorder.
Regarding the daily Zn intake, various recommendations exist. Most of them, however, suggest a RDA of elemental Zn in the range from 7 to 20 mg for adults.
Vitamin K2
VK2 is synthesized by the human intestinal microbiota and the primary dietary sources of VK2 are of microbial origin, commonly found in fermented foods such as cheese, curds, cream, sour cream, butter, and fermented soybean product natto, as well as in eggs, chicken, ham, and animal livers.
VK2, has a crucial role in the promotion of osteogenesis and prevention of calcification.
VitD appears to have some synergistic effects with VitK. VitK increases vitamin D’s beneficial effect on bone mineralization.
VitK supplementation may offer a defense against any unfavorable consequences of Ca supplementation.
In summary, VitD and VitK cooperation is useful in combating the “calcium paradox”—the resultant increase in arterial calcification and decrease in the Ca content of bone when Ca metabolism is impaired. To note that excessive amounts of VitD can augment VitK requirements.
VitK deficiency can be caused by various factors, with insufficient dietary intake being the most important. Antibiotics that inhibit the intestinal flora and thus reduce the bacterial production of VitK.
The RDA for the VitK intake varies per country and is usually set as 50–120 μg per day but might be too low when taking high doses of vitamin D.
Boron
Boron is an essential nutrient for bone and joint health.
Boron increases the useful life of vitamin D3 and helps the system to absorb magnesium.
The body needs boron to create and maintain a good balance of estrogen and testosterone and boron increases T levels.
Boron keeps teeth and gums healthy by stimulating bone and tissue repair and reducing inflammation.
Boron with vitamin B6 and water can help eliminate kidney stones.
Boron also increases the mineral density of bones.
Correlation is NOT causation, but I wish it was that easy
I was hoping to learn about high Vitamin D dosing and protocols, but instead learned quite a few possible conspiracy theories. The tone reminded me of an infomercial- shouting “But wait- There’s more!” and citing your own articles…? Really? I wish it were possible to take Vitamin D to cure late stage cancers (as the author claims), I truly wish it were that easy. The author brags about having a MENSA IQ…but is selling false hope in a book. Kinda sad.
Jeff T. Bowels' "The Miraculous Cure for and Prevention of All Diseases" is a shocking exposé of the medical industry and corporate interests (big pharma), centered around the powerful effects of vitamin D3 supplementation and its cofactors. Despite some unconventional writing, the evidence presented is clear and compelling.
The book revolves around the author's theory that proper vitamin D3 supplementation, along with its essential cofactors, can prevent and even cure a vast array of diseases. A standout example is Bowels' correlation between disease prevalence and distance from the equator, offering a thought-provoking basis for his vitamin D3-centric health theories.
The book's revelations about the medical industry, big pharma and even companies like Google are particularly disturbing. Alarmingly, searching for the author on Google yields results warning about the "dangers" of the sunshine pill. However, using other search engines provides access to the author's website and extensive information about him. This discrepancy is extremely worrying and raises questions about information control.
While the writing style may be uneven, the strength of the evidence supporting vitamin D3's importance and the book's revelations make it a must-read for those interested in natural healing, disease prevention and corporate influence on medical information. The clarity of Bowels' arguments ultimately overshadows any stylistic concerns, presenting a provocative challenge to conventional medical wisdom.
I have read the first book about using high doses of Vitamin D3 with K2 and this is what sparked my interest in the subject.
Although the first book was written with an excited air about it and often the author would repeat himself, it was enjoyable.
This 2nd book is written as a kind of update to the 1st but it has led to things being confused and doubt has now crept into my mind.
First book we were told that high dose D3/K2 was the panacea for modern day health problems. Great.
This book states that hmm, maybe it won’t work unless we take magnesium, boron, zinc and then drop our Vitamin A consumption completely. I am very confused.
It has become like this; you get ill, you see a doctor and they prescribe a pill. The pill works but you must keep taking it BUT it causes side effects. For the side effects, you get another pill and this works to cure the side effects from the first pill BUT introduces other side effects for which you take another pill….. and so on and so on…….
For this reason, I have become very skeptical of the first claim about Vitamin D being the cure all. It can’t be. The caveats introduced by lack of magnesium, too much calcium, too little boron and zinc and now removal of vitamin A is all a bit much for me to swallow - pun intended.
I liked the book and its information on vitamin D. However, I was not convinced that vit D is the cure for up to 70% of all of our modern diseases. There were a lot of confirmational biases where the author ignored or called baised any publications that negated the benefits of vit D. I gave 4 starts because I do believe that vit D has many benefits, and I might try to start supplementating 10,000 IU daily. Also, he mentioned the benefits of boron, a trace mineral that can aid in osteogenesis and the strengthening of bones. Additionally, boron was shown to increase magnesium abortion and improve the usefulness of vit D in the body. Finally, boron can help raise free testosterone in men.
According to the author, these were the 5 supplements we should be taking daily: vitamin D, K2, magnesium, zinc, and boron.
Note: he mentions that taking vit D with vit A (retinol) can negate the benefits of vit d. The beta form is fine.
In this incredible book, Jeff T Bowles exposes the cause of so much of our disease and suffering. Many people believe in "bad genes" or "old age," but the author blames a deficiency of 5 elements. Bowles claims that these elements are Vitamin D3, magnesium, vitamin K2, boron, and zinc. Once upon a time, we could get a sufficient amount through diet. With fast food, frozen food, and modern farming techniques, though, many people lack these basic elements.
The information in this book is excellent, but I found it difficult to read due to the author's writing style. The book isn't formatted into chapters; rather the information is smashed together.
This information is indispensable, though. Even if you don't care for the writing style, it is still a great reference.
Much of this book is just a re-retread of his first book which is a hodgepage of his experience and ranting about why vitamin D is dangerous. But it’s very weak on details. What he claims it’s overwhelming evidence that vitamin D cures diseases is actually evidence that diseases increase at the higher latitudes. Lots of big claims but no guidance on how much vitamin D one should take or how much of the cofactors like magnesium. The book the optimal does makes a strong case and 30,000 units of vitamin D is best for the average person.
This is life changing and life saving info. The writing is almost conversational and easy to follow. It’s well referenced and gives some real technical details for those who want that. D3 and K2 have the power to prevent and heal disease with minimal cost. What’s not to like.
I love the detail Jeff put into this book about the benefits of vitamin D3 and all the proof as to why we are so deficient, and the other types of vitamins and minerals were all so short of. Great book for anyone who wants to improve their health vitamin D three will help most anyone according to the book
I enjoyed reading this book so much. It is an eye opening! It really gives hopes to those who couldn’t find an answer yet for their suffering. The take home message is to take vitamin D3 the right way with all necessary supplements to get the highest benefits and avoiding side effects. Many thanks to the author.
Thank you, Jeff, for putting this out there for the public! I found this book quite interesting and am excited to try it out, for myself and some family members. As someone who works in healthcare, I know firsthand how real solutions to restore health are often NOT what is presented first… or ever, to patients. Bravo and many thanks.
Looking for info for my bad ones and I came across the synergistic properties of Vitamin D3 added to K2 and Magnesium. Dynamite! Maybe a little Boron and Zinc. I'll be healed. I hope, I hope!
Must be taken with a hefty grain of salt but compelling anecdotal data that is buttressed by actual PubMed articles. Some of the benefits are highly implausible which takes away the seriousness of the book...and it could use editing help.
I have read it many times through and changed how I do my supplements. During Covid crazy everyone was falling sick. But not me. It also helped cure my depression.
Jeff Bowles presents a lot of information regarding Vitamin D, magnesium, zinc and boron. I especially liked the presentation of so many studies supporting his info.
Excellent information gleaned from PubMed articles on various subjects, including the efficacy of Vitamin D3, Magnesium and dangers of certain synthetic vitamins and other substances. Definitely food for thought!
Good read. Extensive study references and worthy information to put into practice so that we can avoid lot of disease problems. Modern medicine sucks. No doubt cancer treatment is worse than disease. Unbelievable study by the author. Shan Vadi
I am a registered pharmacist. I was licensed in 1992. I was NEVER taught this information. I am now on a mission to tell the world about these five deficiencies and how to correct their sicknesses....
