I love zombie novels. Always have been a fan of Claire C Riley. I believe I'm struggling somewhat to get into the episodes because there's two different writers. I feel like I can tell when one page or section is written by one author vs other pages written by the other author. It's not a substantial standout, however it makes for a little bit less cohesion in the flow of the story. It's still early, as this is only the 2nd episode. I'm hoping to become more engaged with the characters during the next episode.
This series is getting better with this episode 2 it is full of action from the start, Sam and Rose have joined up with another group of people to try and survive, it really does have you turning the pages I don't want to give anything away as this is the second one and I can't say much with out spoiling. If you like a good zombie read then these books I recommend but remember to read the first book in this series first so you can understand what is going on. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for next book.
Horrifying, creepy, tense and edge of your seat reading. Zombie stories scare me something chronic but also hold a strange fascination so it's hard to resist one, especially by one of my favourite authors. This is a series and each book is one part of a whole. Exciting and so much going on as two girls who meet on a plane fight to stay alive against the odds, meeting a small group of other survivors. Can they stay safe until some sort of rescue comes? Not for the faint hearted reader, I find myself torn between hiding behind a cushion and wanting to find a bat wrapped in razor wire. So good
Oh my goodness! I'm relatively new to the Zombie Genre and this book gave me anxiety, I had to keep putting it down and walking away! Can't wait for the next installment.
A good "short". Please be aware that this is an "episodic", frankly those irritate me because I prefer a full story, or at least a series of fleshed out work. More and more new authors are putting "episodics" out and calling them series. I'm not sure if it's because the younger generations have short attention spans or what the reasoning is.
This "series" has 4 "books" in season 1, and 3 in the 2nd season, to date (Feb 19, 2020), so 7 episodes in total. Each is advertised as approximately 90 pages, but each book ends at around 75%, the rest being filler and advertising of other books. If the author were to combine each season into a single book it might run to 150-200 pages, tops.
Okay, now that I've lodged my main complaint... This series, so far, isn't bad. I like the main female characters around which the story revolves. Rose is on an American "walkabout" from the UK and is taking a "gap year" between college and work, and Sam (Samantha) is a ballerina who is returning from a vacation, that should have been her honeymoon. Both are on the same Red-eye flight from London to Las Angeles when a virus erupts on their flight, turning the other passengers into zombies. They, and one pilot, are the only ones who survive the flight.
I really enjoyed the by-play between Rose and Sam. They quickly became fast friends and learned to work together to survive. As they reach the supposed safety of the airport they encounter more raging creatures, but also meet up with assorted survivors. Some are just everyday people, some are deviants, and some are criminals. But, you can't be too picky in who your cohorts are, not if you want to survive.
Epic! I feel like I'm watching a tv series not reading a book. It's written and crafted so unique, i can imagine the scenes so vividly.
New character's are introduced. Rose and Sam's friendship is growing stronger. Both are trying to cope the best they can with the gruesome zombies, I'm loving their friendship. Nolan is taking charge of their situation, he's broody and a bit of a jerk at times but I love him.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and can't wait for ep3.
Red eye is my first zombie read and it's got me back in to watching zombie series and films on the tv. something i haven't watched for 4 yrs. so ladies you have hooked me on all things zombies and as my first zombie books that i am truly loving, this is not a series i will ever forget.
This story is amazing, and right from the start of this second episode they bring it, it's full steam and I couldnt get enough, if this was a tv series I would binge watch because my god it had my heart pounding, I was on the edge of my seat, I couldnt put it down.
I'm not a zombie girl but even if it's not what you normally read or it's not your genre believe me when I say you will love it, I wasnt but I'm absolutely loving this.
Cant wait for the next episode, when it gets to the end it's like waiting another week for your favorite show, frustrated that you have to wait but oh so excited to see what's to come.
This series is awsome sam and rose are thrown together in a life and death situation after finding more people in the air port terminal they try and make up camp and secure the area best they can. I am really disliking nolan's character I just cant put my finger on why, love that there are more characters being brought into the story let's hope rose doesn't turn in to ond of the brain munching zombies cant wait to read the next installment really enjoyed what I've read so far.
This series is going to be a very bumpy ride, the ups and downs already have me on the edge of my seat, it was a late night for me with this one as once I started I couldn't put it down. Rose and Sam have joined up with more survivors in the airport. I just hope they have made the right decision !!??
Episode Two introduces some new characters and builds on how everyone is coping with the zombie apocalypse. Another solid episode with some intriguing characters coming into the story. Can’t wait for episode 3
The continuation does not disappoint. Sam and Rose are surviving together and apart. I am addicted and need to know what lies ahead for them and the others that have joined in the race to survive. Claire and Eli are creating an amazing journey. Thank you ladies.
Just loving this series so far can't wait to read the third book if you love zombies books then I highly recommend these books gets you hooked from the first page must read
This was a great follow up to Episode One in this series. It was an entertaining, quick read that still managed to have plenty going on, fitting a lot of action into a small time frame. Rose and Sam continue to navigate their way around the airport. Having teamed up with Nolan, they've made the decision to rescue the small group of survivors they spotted trying to keep out of reach of an unruly group of zombies. Adding a few more to their group might bring even more complications, however, as Rose and Sam's courage is tested and perhaps not everyone in their ragtag group is as they seem.
The backstory of a lot of the characters is still mostly unknown so there's plenty to keep me turning the pages as personalities are slowly revealed. This book focusses on the new additions to the group, trying to secure their area of the airport and attempting to get weapons while the world has gone crazy. I wouldn't have thought the book would stay set at the airport but it has and it continues to work. I'm really enjoying this zombie page-turner and will be carrying on to the next book. Plus, it quoted The Princess Bride. That's some series brownie points right there.
Enjoying these quick style episodes, packed full of action. For someone that has been through a fair share of airports, this might be one of the worst places to get stuck in during the apoc. A labyrinth of corridors and doors, wide open terminals and people everywhere. How do you secure the area and keep yourself safe? This episode is just as action packed as episode 1 and gives us a glimpse of the ragtag group of survivors that might come together, each unaware of who the other really is and what other dangers lie in wait. These episodes are a really nice length that allows you to read it either in one go if you have the day free or in short bursts.
Really good start to a new series, the characters are believable & the story quite fast paced. I read this before covid19 started & thought "surely most people would pull together in a situation like this", I've now changed my mind, most people would look after no. 1 before helping others! I will be looking to read the series
WOW ANOTHER GREAT INSTALMENT THAT MAKES THE WALKING DEAD LOOK LIKE SESAME STREET. THE REALISM IN THE DESCRIPTIONS ARE AMAZING. EACH SCENE HAS YOU SITTING AT THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT. AM WARY OF TRENT AND WANT TO FIND OUT MORE OF HIS BACK STORY. BRING ON EPISODE 3.
These books are nice simple easy reads so far. Really enjoyable, great characters . Maybe it's because two young women are the main characters , but this seems more geared towards women of even teenagers . Is not really serious and gritty ...yet
I did like this but it's short so that is only reason why only 3 stars. It's end of the world and Rose and Sam have to learn how to survive. They both had some har time but luckily they figure it out. I like their friendship.
It was so-so. I have read a similar series years ago taking place in an air ort. I wanted more from this than just them being in an airport for two books.
Another great installment in this installment based zombie thriller. Great pace, and for a short and sharp book, you get to see enough character development to maintain interest.
Super entertaining!! I didn’t realize how short these were but that’s ok! They are fast moving and full of action!! I can’t wait to download the next book!!
Doing a re read ready for the last season. I loved this first time round and loving it just as much this time Rose and Sam a female duo fighting to survive.
