Amelia is feeling extra Santa-mental and wants the Christmas spirit, just not the Christmas spirit who arrives to demand her help. The Ghost of Christmas Past was an elf-made man who was murdered the previous Christmas while in a Santa suit. Can Amelia solve the murder, or is it a lost Claus? Yule never guess who the murderer is!
USA Today best-selling author Morgana Best survived a childhood of deadly spiders and venomous snakes in the Australian outback. Morgana Best writes cozy mysteries and enjoys thinking of delightful new ways to murder her victims.
Christmas Spells is Book 14 in the AMAZING Kitchen Witch Book Series. I have read every book in the series and I am so in love with the characters.
This is a great mystery as Amelia Spelled is visited by the ghost of a man that was murdered last Christmas and will NOT leave her alone until she solves his murder.
I was shocked to hear who the murder was. I love the characters and the well thought out story line. This is a holiday cozy mystery you do not want to miss.
For even more enjoyment, read all the books in the series.
Christmas Spells is book fourteenth in Morgana Best's Kitchen Witch series. Amelia and her neighbour Camino were talking about Christmas when the Ghost of Ignatius Benedict, who was murdered the year before Christmas, visited them. The Ghost demanded Amelia and Camino's help to find his killer and the missing will. However, Amelia and Camino do not know where to start, significantly, since their client can not help them. The readers of Christmas Spells will continue to follow Amelia and Camino to discover what happens.
Christmas Spells is a lovely, enjoyable, cozy mystery by Morgana Best. I love this series and continuously engage with the story and characters. Christmas Spells kept up the traditions. While reading this book, I sometimes had to laugh at the way the characters interacted. I love Morgana Best's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine throughout this book. Christmas Spells is well-written and researched. I like Morgana Best's description of the settings of Christmas Spells, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
The Kitchen Witch Series is one of my favorite series. The books in it never fail to lift my spirits. Christmas Spells did exactly that. I have been sick for awhile with it just worsening, which at holiday time can be so depressing. Amelia, Camino and her onesies, Alder and everyone, plus a Christmas theme, was just what I needed. The book is a quick read though, maybe it’s in part that, time flies when you’re having fun. This book has a visit from a ghost of Christmas Past needing help before the scary ghost of Christmas Future catches up. Christmas Spells is one Christmas cozy you don’t want to miss!
A fun book where an old murder is brought to Amelia's attention by a visit from a ghost-the ghost of Christmas past called that since his murder was last Christmas. There really weren't many suspects, and they all seemed to have air-tight alibis. I loved the way the author made the nosy mail lady into a stinky villain.
Author Morgana Best is witty and keeps you chuckling while reading her books.Always a treat, this one seemed especially good. I recommend adding this one to the holiday season's stories you should read!
Of course the cosy mystery plot was excellent. Of course the characters certainly are. Of course I made sure there were no liquids nearby when I sat down to read this. Of course I laughed so hard that the neighbors thought I was nutz. After all, it's a Morgana Best cosy! Lots of outright fun, awful puns, and a twisting of Dickens filling in the spaces between sleuthing! Enjoy!
Another change up in the cozy plot. I loved the change. The ghost of Christmas past makes Christmas a crazy, cold case, cozy mystery. A great read no matter what time of year it is.
Another seat gripping mystery in The Kitchen Witch series, and this one is definitely the most mysterious. Readers are left guessing the identity of the murderer(s) as well as the location of the will throughout the entire book. The ending revelation is very much a surprise. And, of course, there is always the humor.
I took away a star due to errors that should have been caught during editing. 1. The comment about how the victim died is revealed for the 1st time twice to Amelia by Camino. 2. The poison is a surprise to Amelia as it is apparently not common, but she and her friends always run into uncommon poisons only found on farms. 3. One hundred changes to four hundred. 4. Alder reaches for a cake yet drops a pizza.
Christmas Spells is Book 14 of Kitchen Witch Book Series by Morgana Best and one of the series I love.
Amelia and Camino have been forced by the ghost of the Christmas Spirit, Ignatius Benedict, to find his last will because the one that was found was not the real one and if someone else found it, it would get destroyed. And Ignatius wants the will to be given to the real heir, which aren't the ones that have everything at that moment. This has been a fun to read instalment, full of different turns in the story and you would not believe the endind. I loved it!
It already started with a word in the blurb that made me laugh! Santa-mental! LOL. And that kind of fun was continued in the story.
Morgana Best’s books are characterised by short sentences. Short and snappy and to the point! I always have to get used to that style for a few pages (but I often have that with any book) and then I’m into it and loving it! I thought this was an enjoyable Christmas cozy with some good silly fun. And a twisty-turny mystery of course! This series is so entertaining, really good if you’re looking for a lighthearted read to make you feel merry!
Amelia is up to her top hat in a Christmas mystery that involves the Ghost of Christmas past, & Christmas Future.
The ghost of Ignatius Benedict, who was murdered the previous Christmas has visited and told both Amelia and Camino that they have to figure out who killed him, they also have to find his last will because he didn't want the people in the old one collecting his fortune.
Another fun and entertaining story from Morgana Best.
I can’t say enough about how awesome this series is! When the ghost of Christmas past (Ignatius Benedict) appears before Amelia and Camino, they are tasked with finding his murderer. His current will isn’t the last will he made. Amelia and Camino need to find the current will and figure out who murdered Ignatius. Great plot twists, kept me guessing. I received an ARC of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.
Man on man. I was really sure I had this figured out easy. I followed the red herring down a rabbit hole and still did not want to believe the truth. I didn't know I was so stubborn . I gave it 5 stars on the red herring alone! Camino is really.....no......to much to give away and spoil the mystery. I can say Socrates makes an appearance. You just have to read Christmas Spells book 14. See for yourself.
Its christmas time in Australia. And amelia and her friends are back at it. Ghosts, murder and christmas. It doesn't get any better than that. Who murdered Ignatius? They're tasked with finding out. It's gonna be hard to solve an old crime but they're always up for a challenge. It's always fun to get to read about Amelia's baking too. Keeps me giggling.
“Ghost of Christmas Past” is a man who had been murdered the previous year and threatens to haunt them forever if Camino and Amelia failed to solve his murder and find his latest will. She and the other witches investigate the man’s sons and their wives. They all have alibis. Or do they?
Perfect for fans of Amelia and friends. Amelia is becoming an effective detective which is a good thing as her baking is explosive! Interesting mystery to solve and lots of laughs.
Amelia Spelled by the ghost of Christmas Past. He’s actually the ghost of a man who was killed last Christmas. His murder has gone unsolved and he won’t leave Amanda alone until she finds the murderer and his last will.
This is another great Kitchen Witch book. Perfect for the Christmas season.
