A beachside stroll. A deadly discovery. Will this psychic sleuth swim or sink? Mitzy wishes she could turn a blind third-eye to her hit-or-miss powers. Instead, while taking her fiendish feline for a walk, they make a stomach-churning find on shore. Despite her loss of appetite, she can't help but get a closer look at the unique ink etched into the corpse...
Before she can track down the killer, Mitzy must sweet-talk her way off the sexy sheriff's suspect list. And once again her meddling Ghost-ma is dying to interfere with the case. But when the trail leads to dangerous smugglers who shoot first and don't ask questions, she could end up in over her head...
Can Mitzy uncover the truth, or will hers be the next body to float to the surface?
Tattoos and Clues is the second book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you'll love Trixie Silvertale's twisty whodunits.
USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
This summer has been crazy in the garden. We’ve already picked over 100lbs of tomatoes; canned countless jars of salsa, pasta sauce, and tomato basil soup. I moved on to chutney and now it’s time for fig preserves. All that to say, I’m listening to a whole lot more audiobooks this summer so I can get everything done and I would’ve devoured this entire cozy mystery series by now if it weren’t for the long wait times on libby currently!
Tattoos and Clues is another opportunity for Mitzy Moon to talk her way off the suspect list after she finds a corpse along the shore. Mitzy can’t help but follow the clues after the body is identified and once again she has some help from her meddling ghost-ma (ghost grandma) and sassy feline Pyewacket. When she interferes with a smuggling operation, she may be the next body to wash ashore. This paranormal cozy mystery is full of snark and the supernatural and is a great audio to keep me company in the kitchen this summer.
This series is really intriguing and entertaining. The main character who has always thought of herself as an orphan is settling into her new town, getting to know her father and getting used to being exceedingly wealthy as well as a business owner. She is also finding that she and her ghostly grandmother have more in common than just being sarcastic, witty women who enjoy fashion. It seems our pixie like main character also may be a bit of a witch with gifts of sight and such, but she'll have to focus on that later as once she again she has stumbled across a dead body! The wit in these books is very well done and I absolutely love the characters right down to the spoiled, obstinate cat. While I would definitely consider the series a cozy mystery series, there is a bit of an edge to it that makes it a bit more intriguing and interesting. I definitely recommend that you give it a listen as the narrator really helps bring the characters to life.
This series is amazing!!! I was literally counting down the hours until this second book was released and must admit that I read the first one two times in a row! Trixie Silvertale is a wonderful author whom creates a world you can't help but be addicted to. I love everything about her work from the snarky humour to her one of a kind characters including the amazing furry Pyewacket.💖 December 13th can't come soon enough so I can divulge in another Mitzy Moon mystery. I must admit this series is in my all time top five favorites out of a few thousands of novels I read. When better I will have to post more about in on my blog until next time Mitzy.😍
I’ve learned that I hate the word “chuckle”. It happens a lot in this book, and I just have a weird feeling about the word now. This book series so far had more action scenes then the other book I read with 2 magic cats. The romance is mega slow burn. There are a few plot holes that cause me to raise an eyebrow, but the reason I came back to the series wasn’t for the plot, it was for the cozy, fun world it takes place in, there’s just something about cozy trash mystery books that hit the spot.
Mitzy is settling into her new life. She is enjoying her time with her family. She is slowly coming with the terms of having some kind of paranormal abilities. When her cat finds another dead body, it is time to put these abilities to the test.
This is a hilariously fun series. My favorite character, Mitzy, is a strong-willed, sassy female. She does have her issues, but who doesn’t. The mystery is well-developed with several suspects and red-herring to keep you in suspense of who the killer really is.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator is a great storyteller. She does a great job bringing Mitzy’s and the other characters' personalities to life. I look forward to the next in the series.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.
I am loving this series. If you read my review of the first book, you know it took me a moment to warm up to Mitzy. I’m so happy that I gave her a chance! She is still snarky and a bit guarded but that is to be expected with her background. What this book has confirmed for me is that Mitzy cares very deeply for those she loves. I am, now, definitely a fan of Mitzy Moon! I love seeing her relationships grow. When she was thinking of Pyewacket and her true feelings, I can’t say how my heart soared. I am hoping soon my heart will soar with a relationship happening between Mitzy and Sheriff Harper. I must say in my desire to rush this relationship, I have appreciated the slower pace. It fits Mitzy more and is what separates him from a one night stand. I really enjoyed seeing Silas more in this book. He is such a mysterious character! Speaking of mysteries...this one was intriguing. It took a turn that surprised me and the ending wasn’t a scenario that I had ran through my mind. I am truly looking forward to the next book in this series.
Liked it, for me the secondary characters make the book. Grandma, the ornery cat, the lawyer aka alchemist, the townsfolks who are getting to know Mitzy but may be slightly murderous themselves 🤨😁 all help keep the plot from becoming a mundane cozy mystery
Absolutely love this book. Mitzi Moon is back and it’s never a dull moment. Loved that the paranormal aspect are coming out a little more in this book. Mitz gift seem to be growing GREAT BOOK
I do love this new series but just a few things stop me from giving it a 5*. The setting is great, Ghost-ma, Silas, Mitzy and Pyewacket are forming a paranormal bond which isn't rushed, just unravelling piece by piece. Jacob, Twiggy, Odell, etc are great characters. It is a book which you must keep reading and the pace is great. All in all a brilliant series and it's getting better as it goes along.
So, why then did I knock a star off? The niggles at the back of my mind made me! At times, although the plot is well-written it is verging on a little bit complicated to follow in places. I think there's only so many burgers, fries, eggs and Pin Cherry pie I can stomach too. A little bit of me would like to see our MC sometimes eating somewhere else or taking that shower when she needs to! But, her character is young, feisty and she isn't a domestic goddess - so it fits. My bugbear really is the cleverer she becomes, the more bumbling it makes Sheriff Erick and his growling sidekick look.
He is always there to pick her up and send her heart racing, but he needs to up his game if he isn't going to be constantly out-witted by this young lady. She now seems to be doing his job for him at every turn. Until he does that, I can't put him on the same pedestal Mitzy Moon does, he is in danger of becoming redundant!
This is no way takes away the excellence unfolding in this series and I'm already looking forward to the next book to see how things unfold even more. Great read.
Wow! As much as I liked the first book, this one had me hooked from the beginning! The characters are way better developed, more thought put into them. The ending came much too quickly for me, and left me with so many questions! I love it because it makes me eager to read the next one. It's a mystery in a mystery.
Mitzy Moon is back and as sassy as ever. I love Mitzy so much along with her amazing Ghost-Ma. I throughly enjoyed watching new relationships develop as Mitzy gets to connect with her new family and friends and gets herself mixed up on a mystery full of mishaps and intrigue.
So much fun!!!!!! Got this in audiobook and went into it straight from the first, so glad I did!!!!!!!! Mitzi and gang are my new SCOOBY DOO for adults!!!!!!! Just what you need, lots of fun, mysteries, adventures and a touch of magic to brighten your day!!!!!!!!
2020 bk 201 Mitzie tries to help Odell learn what happened to his brother (whose body she just happened to stumble on). Along the way she uncovers a massive smuggling operation operating off of a local island and nearly loses her own life. It was okay - not quite as good as number 1, but the characters still made it enjoyable.
I love Agatha Christie for a realistic cozy, but this has to be my number one favorite for a paranormal cozy. From the setting, a bookstore named Bell, Book and Candle, to the characters, a slightly ditzy but quite intelligent young woman to her ghost grandma to the local Sherriff, everyone is memorable!
Mitzy Moon spent most of her life as an orphan. When her unknown grandmother passed away, everything in Mitzy’s life changed. She was suddenly well off and a business owner in a small great lake’s town. She left her pitiful life in Arizona behind with no regrets.
Now her life is more than full. She met her father, her grandmother’s dear friend and employee, Twiggy, and her grandmother’s less than ordinary lawyer. She inherited a giant cat with the bookstore and shares the place and apartment above it with her grandmother’s ghost! She even inherited one of her grandmother’s ex-husbands who gifted her free burgers for life in his diner!
She might have a bit of a crush on the local Sherriff. Despite the fact that the first thing he did was arrest her for murder the same dsy she arrived in town. When she finds another body, she can only hope she doesn’t come under suspicion again.
The murdered man is identified as the brother of, Odell, her grandmother’s ex. He asks Mitzy to look into the death, since she successfully solved the murder she was accused of before. How will Sherriff Erick handle her nosing around another of his investigations? Who will find the murderer first? Will Mitzy’s budding paranormal gifts help her solve this crime?
For a thoroughly delightful adventure, you can’t beat this series!
After reading Tattoos and Clues, Mitzy Moon has raced to the top of my list of favorite characters and Trixie Silvertale is a must-read author! Mitzy is growing as a character and developing strong relationships with Ghostma, Silas, Pyewacket (the most awesome Caracal ever), and her father. I love how organic the growth of these relationships is. The story in Tattoos and Clues is engrossing and filled with the exact right amount of twists and red herrings. I really like how important Pin Cherry Harbor is to the plot of the story - it gives Mitzy a place within the town and connections to her roots. The mystery in Tattoos and Clues begins with Mitzy finding a body while she is taking Pyewacket for a walk. From there she is taken on a truly wild and dangerous ride to solve the mystery. I can't wait to get my hands on book 3! I will be clearing my schedule so I can read it in one sitting. Many thanks to Trixie Silvertale for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Tattoos and Clues.
Amid dreams of a deeper "relationship" with Sheriff Erick, Mitzy finds herself drawn into another investigation with long roots in the past. Erick had, of course, cautioned her to stay out of "police business", but when Odell - her first real friend after arriving unannounced in Pin Cherry Harbor - begs her to get to the bottom of his brother's death, she just can't say no.
Enter a couple of near-death situations, Pyewacket sending in the B-team to save her, and her ever growing and developing "powers", and we have a recipe for mayhem and adventure. Silverdale has penned another page turner with these loveable characters at the centre. I can highly recommend. I love this new series and cannot wait for book three!
[I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, and am leaving an honest review of the book. The opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]
Mitzi Moon has some quirky comebacks to The HOT SHERIFF plus shes as sassy as can be with others. The unusual cat is so hilarious in the antics that it keeps you laughing just like Grams ( her ghostly grandmother). Then she finds a body .....wow this book is so awesome . You cant get enough of reading it. I cant wait for book 3 in this series. This book is magical and its a Cozy Paranormal Mystery. You must get a copy . its addictive . What can Mitzi get into again and .....well no more giving it away . Thanks to an amazing author Trixie Silvertale. This series is TERRIFIC ! Loved every moment i could steal to keep reading it. Thanks for such anamazing Cozy Paranormal Mystery series . I hope everyone goes out to get this book. I RATE IT A 5 .( Would love to rate higher if i could)
I didn’t think it was possible but I love this book even more than the first! I really like seeing Mitzi and her dad struggling to make up for lost time and getting to know one another. It isn’t easy and quick just as it wouldn’t be in real life. I absolutely love the character Mitzi! She funny, quirky, impulsive and brilliant. It’s so rewarding to watch her character and abilities develop! The storyline was well plotted out with just the right amount of twists and turns, adventure and action. I also liked that we got to meet new characters and got to know some residents better! I highly recommend this book and this new series!
Although this is the second book in this series, I feel that it could be read as a standalone, which I like.
I thought this book was another wonderful read. The storyline was very interesting and kept me hooked from beginning to end. I loved that in this book we got to see even more of the characters' personalities and skills develop. Sometimes in this genre of mysteries, the books can get a bit repetitive, but I feel this series is fresh and exciting. I am anxious to see what is in store next.
Overall, if you are looking for a book with believable, funny, and interesting characters that find themselves in intriguing situations, then this would be a good series for you.
Another brilliant installment from Trixie Silvertale.
Mitzy finds herself in an adventure, knee deep in trouble with smugglers. With the help from her lawyer, father, Caracal and Grams, her Ghost-ma, she must solve a murder and keep herself alive.
Mitzy is sassy, snarky and feisty. With these attributes and her growing psychic gifts she's becoming one of my favourite heroines.
I have just finished listening to the audio version. I enjoyed every minute of Mitzy's adventure, as the characters are brought to life by Colleen Marlo. Very well narrated.
Buy Tattoo's and Clues, you won't be disappointed.
Loved it and can't wait for the next one in the series...
Tattoos and Clues: Paranormal Cozy Mystery is the second book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries. This is a feel-good, fast-paced story where hilarity ensues. Misty Moon has found another body. This story has well-developed characters that have gained depth with this second book. The storyline is well written and engaging, keeping my interest from beginning to end. With humour, mystery, secrets, paranormal gifts, danger, and romance, this book has something to please everyone who enjoys a fabulous cozy mystery.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
While this is a book 2, it can be read as a stand alone, as all of the characters and information we learned in book one is revisited.
We catch up with Mizty as she entangles herself in yet another convoluted case. I'm so so thankful that this series isn't running with the typical insta-love that runs rampant in cozy mysteries. The banter between the characters is great, and the small town friendly yet nosy behavior is perfection.
But again, much like book one, the excessive use of adverbs and adjectives leave me questioning if it's intentional first person character trait or not. Also, there were many aspects that just didn't feel believable so they pulled me out of the story.
This is the second book in a new paranormal series. This series is a very interesting series. The characters are very easy to relate to. The main character, Misty’s, gets herself in trouble as she is learning about her powers and the people in the town. I love her inherited cat as a major character that helps her along with the mysteries. It is a well written series/book and is not like some of the others. It has enough comedy and mystery to keep you interested and it has a lot of ideas that keep it fresh!
Mitzy is one of many wonderful characters in this book. Grams just tugs at your heart and her cat pyewacket is totally crazy sand loveable. Janson, Mitzy’s father is making up for the time he did not get to spend with Mitzy growing up. Silas and Odell are perfect additions to the story. The love and caring come through the authors words and make the story truly great. The town of Pin Cherry is well thought out and makes you feel like you know the town and its residents. A wonderful book and series that you should add to your repertoire.
The Mitzy Moon series is humming along. Book 2 and I'm loving the characters. The plot is well thought out and I'm loving the depth to the story. I desperately want to see inside this bookstore/library/museum/home thing that Mitzy lives in. I wish I could stay in touch with my gran the way Mitzy has been able to develop the relationship she has with hers.
I received a free copy of this book but would honestly happily buy it over and over. i'd recommend it if you love a mystery, a bit of paranormal fun, a sassy heroine and a strange "cat".
Book two of this paranormal cozy mystery finds us, once again, in the town of Pin Cherry Harbor. With the cast of quirky characters we loved in book one (Fries & Alibis), there’s a new mystery that needs solving. This time the victim has some intriguing ink.
Mitzy Moon hopes to help a friend in finding out who-dunit. And her new story will include our favorite ghostly Grandma and sexy Sheriff.
The Mitzy Moon series is a cleanly written, entertaining and quick read. Once you step into town....you won’t want to leave.
I read Fries & Alibis, the first book in this series, and I really loved it so I was happy to read this book when it was available. Mitzy Moon and all the characters you fell in love with in the first book are back. The characters are well developed and interesting. This book is mysterious, hilarious and fun. Tattoos and Clues is full of intrigue, action and adventure. It completely captures your attention. Just like the first book I just couldn't put the book down until it was finish. I love Tattoos and Clues! I can't wait for the next book!
I love Tattoos and Clues! It is an amazing book. The characters are well developed and interesting. Misty is wonderful. I love her outspoken attitude and strength. I just love Pyewacket! This book mysterious, hilarious and fun. Tattoos and Clues is full of intrigue, action and adventure. It completely captures your attention. The mystery is complex and intriguing. The book is so detailed and descriptive. I highly recommend this book series. I can't wait for the next book!
