This is an excellent book. I like his style of writing. It's very simple and straightforward and very easy to relate to. I love the stories he incorporates into the book in order to explain something and describe a certain edible plant or trick of the trade in order to survive in the wilderness with very little effort. Very pleasant reading and I highly recomend reading it if you're into wilderness survival.

3.5 stars, leaning to a serious 4. I picked up both of his books as a late teenager back in the mid-late 70's, and they were both useful when we stayed in Maine a few summers. We listened, and my family and I enjoyed searching out foraged vegetables and seafood.

In my understanding, Euell Gibbons is the O.G. of modern wild edibles literature. This book was a nice collection of articles, instead of a field guide, and I liked the arrangement of sections & chapters within them.
